At one of the side bars, and the service was garbage. Took 20 minutes to order a drink, and not because of a crowd. The bartender just wandered off, and the bus boy couldn't serve drinks. Then when it was time to pay, the drinks were WAY overpriced and I had to wait another 10 minutes for the bartender to appear again. Granted I should know better than to party in the Meatpacking District

The room and location we're nice, with a very friendly staff. Beds (twin) and pillow were not comfortable at all for me. Also, as chic as it may be to have a giant photo of some young adults at a party, waking up in the middle of the night and being confronted by giants is not the most pleasant experience. Last negative was the in room thermostat want obvious how to make it a bit cooler. Maybe the building was on heat mode or something, but I admittedly didn't try that hard, just changed the desired temp.

Good area to go out in at night, grab a drink, or for some awesome food!

Your standard roof top bar with people who act more special than they really are.

Great place , great location, great vibe and rooftop lounge had great views of surrounding area ...Drinks are kinda expensive..had a mojito and Seltzer with cranberry and it cost 26.00 dollars.Below are the views from the lounge

Location of the Gansevoort is great for my business travel. The rooms are nicely appointed and the rooftop bar is good. Unfortunately, the construction on the street is really noisey and the TVs never work properly.

Basically, it's hell on Earth for all those who need our protection.

The club was OK. Atmosphere was OK , needed a better assortment of music. Been to better roof top bars.

It was wonderful, the slippers and geese plushies were a nice touch. The employees were also very friendly and helpful.

Drinks are overpriced and horrendous. Wines by the glass are unpalatable (I didn't touch several despite paying for them). Cocktails slightly less so. Aside from the view and the cache there is zero reason to come here.

It was clean, the staff were also good, the service was accurate, the location was very enjoyable, and it was good. Breakfast is not a buffet, so it's a bit disappointing that it takes a while to serve.

Only stayed one night for business, but it was very pleasant. Staff was polite and friendly, and the room was surprisingly roomy for the area.

Location and rooms were great. Service from front desk was good but from some of the other staff was just OK.

The hotel is conveniently located with a number of food and entertainment options around. The check-in process was very smooth, the staff was very friendly and courteous. The rooms are large (compared to NYC hotels in the area), and clean.

Bar is on the rooftop. This bar isn't exactly in Vogue right now so tend to be on the emptier side. That said, the rooftop does have a decent view

Fantastic location, only had a short overnight stay but lovely hotel that's 2 minutes walk from Chelsea Market. Rooftop pool is awesome.

Upscale hotel in meatpacking. Friendly staff, clean room, awesome views +4 stars. $2 for a cup of coffee in my room -1 star.

Hotel is in a great hip spot with lots to do around. We started off with drinks on the ground floor, the whiskey drink was delicious. We made our way to the roof which had a great view of the Hudson.

Great hotel. The Gansevoort Meatpacking district is great. Be sure to walk the Highline when there.

Nice hotel and getting old. Staff are not that friendly. Security staff are slow to act. A fight broke out in the lobby bar and security just watched. Not good enough!

Smaller than Chelsea Market, but way less crowded and just as many good places to eat. A nice place for groups because there is something for everyone, and plenty of big tables to dine at.

I spent my time at Plunge, the roof bar. It's was beautiful and the servers and bartenders were super nice. Awesome views but the drinks are pricey.

The front desk staff is amazing. Lauren is an absolute angel. I have had the Opportunity to stay at the Gansevoort before and each time my experience gets better! Thank you so much for all your help Lauren!! My day would ve been ruined without you.. can t thank you enough....I look forward to staying again

Great hotel but rooftop bar is unbelievable if you go on the right night!

Awful Experience. Absolutely horrible experience! I went to Gansevoort this afternoon for drinks with friends for my fiance's 40th birthday after brunch as dos caminos. I am humiliated! I have been going to Gansevoort for yearsssss! Today I was rudely told by a "security" guard that I have to leave and was being kicked out No reason given, even though myself and my friends were calmly ordering drinks. Later I learned the security mistakened my identity with some else. seriously?!?! ridiculous. I have been attending Gansevoort meatpacking and park avenue for years I am a loyal customer. I went when they opened a location in Miami and I have been to the location in turks and Caicos. Needless to say after this experience I will NOT be back to ANY location again. There was no apology after it was figured out I was the wrong person. AWFUL! I am vice-president of a PR company in NYC and I am so upset I will never be back to a Gansevoort Property ever gain nor will I have client ever go there. You screwed up major Gansevoort. I suggest getting managers who are over 30 years old and security guards who are not straight from nowhere.

While the room was fine, and the service friendly, I have a major issue with the hotel's centralized heating. The room temperature was set to 75, and could not be turned down. When I called the front desk, the only suggestion was to turn off the system. The only thing that cooled down the room at all was opening the window, but of course this meant that it was loud. 75 is too hot for most people to sleep comfortably, and I would expect an upscale hotel like this to allow customers to control their own room temperature. I had minimal sleep during my 2 night work trip, and not because I was out late but because of the heat/noise combo.

I've never been a guest of the hotel but I've been to the rooftop in many occasions. Everytime I go I'm treated worse at the door. Once inside everything is overrated. A glass of wine will cost you more than the entire bottle (the same that you would find in a convenience store). There are better places, better views, better drinks, and better professionalism in many places not too far from there. Never again.

The rooms are small, but the atmosphere and bars are great.

The hotel itself was nothing to write home about. A few bars, restaurants, and an over all modern feel ... But the rooms and hotel itself could benefit from some updates. For NYC the standard rooms were spacious. But for the price ... There are many other hotel options that are better. The location is great and there's easy access to the Subway. Tons of hotel/bar options right around the hotel,as well.

Some of the best views of the NJ from the city. I love it around sunset.

Spent 4 very cold days in NYC but this hotel was fantastic. Great location, smart rooms and Al good bar on the roof.

Awesome neighborhood and very kind and thoughtfull staff! Too bad we stayed there on december and we could not enjoy the rooftop open door pool (although they said the water was warm). We had a 4 people bedroom and the sofa was not very comfortable to sleep!

It's always a good time there. There are so many bars and activities in the area that it's hard not to want to stay. Beautiful hotel as well, and I've personally had them do a couple of outstanding favors for me, without any issues.

Went to the spa. Great space, had a really good massage, and very nice service.

The rooms are nice and the staff are friendly. However, the room was not as clean as it should be. There was a bunch of hairs attached to a light, and one of the mirrors looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. Also, the pillows easily went flat and the bed was way too firm. That being said, great location.

I always have a problem when 4 star hotel that charge over 400 USD per night , can afford complimentary tea bags or water bottle
Begins to feel like a budget airline where everything from coffee capsules to bedside water bottle have a price tag on it
