My bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Like sleeping on a plank of wood. Hotel staff came and put an extra pillow top on it and it didn't make a difference. Felt like room was incomplete without a luggage rack.
stylish and cool hotel. Nice rooftop with spectacular view. "Too" loud music and some people to snobish. Cool sound and nice drinks. We stayed for 2 nigths and the rooms were big. We liked it a lot.
Went to the WeWork by the Gansevoort, and it was pretty cool.
Always a great place to take friends in town. The rooftop has amazing views.
Beautiful view of the sunset. One of the intriguing things about this place is the pool but it's always roped off
Great for friends or family. Good drinks, good service, good spot on general.
Favorite place to go for lunch many different options
Great view of the river and NJ skyline from rooftop bar!! Drinks very expensive.
Unbeatable location, unique roof top bar and restaurant
The music at Plunge was great, however there us just a small bar.
I enjoyed the atmosphere at this late night spot. It is roof top, with seating available to take in the views, as well as an indoor area with room to dance. The only drawback for me was that the bar area gets extremely crowded so you may have to wait 10-15 minutes to get a drink.
This hotel does not have proper air conditioning in the rooms, which makes staying there absolutely unbearable in the summer. It is very hot AND humid because their version of "AC" is a fan with water. They sent a technician to "fix it" but there wasn't much he could do.
I also found a large cockroach in my bathroom (picture attached). I called the front desk and a staff member came up and took care of the roach. However, no apology or money back was offered. I was only given keys to another room.
PS. I decided to leave the Gansevoort right after the roach incident and to stay at the Standard for my remaining 3 nights in NYC. The Gansevoort front desk employee still charged me for the night that I stayed there, even though a refund would have been much more appropriate given the circumstances.
Loved it! Much better than the nearby Dream Downtown at a similar price tier. Showers with temperature control, bath amenities from L'occitaine, comfortable bed and nice service. Espresso machine in room ( capsules cost $2). Good vibe in the lobby, although small lobby
I wish I leave no star review. If you not stay in this hotel and you don't have couple thousand in your packet to spend on the table in the club you better don't go there.
I went to the bar here while waiting on coworkers to come down from their rooms. The staff was friendly and attentive. However, we came on a day where they didn't have many of our favorite wines. Apparently it was delivery day so they were out of stock on a lot of the things we asked for.
Nice ambiance , rooftop cocktail servers were abrasive though and kind of rude. Not really interested in going back.
IF YOU PREFER SLEEPING IN A COLD ROOM AT NIGHT DONT STAY HERE. Purchased a one bedroom suite despite the reviews that I saw concerning the air conditioning. Before making my reservation I called the front desk and specifically asked them about the air conditioning and why a couple of reviews mentioned that the temp of the bedroom could not be controlled. The man on the phone became defensive and said people are going to say what they want to say. I never have any prob with the air . In our suite, the air in the living room and hallway operated fine but the bedroom AC was 100 PERCENT CONSISTENT with the bad reviews. We set the thermostat to 68 to sleep. The room temp never dipped below 75. I should ve known there would be issues when i saw that the bedroom had a fan. If you like to sleep in a cold bedroom don t stay here. Otherwise everything else was beautiful
The view was absolutely incredible, the energy here is great.
Great rooftop bar. Amazing views. A little pricey though.
The rooftop lounge should have easier access for those who aren't staying there.
This place is over rated and unprofessional and RACIST. Me and a group of my black girlfriends were having drinks and food there on the rooftop and a caurcasaion man who worked there with a ponytail asked us to leave once we paid our bill, when he saw we were being attacked by 2 guys who were being very disrespectful to us and obsessive not wanting to leave us alone he made us women leave instead of the 2 guys following us and cursing us out, I guess if you ain't white you ain't right. Instead of making sure we as women were safe okay and have those losers leave he asked us to leave, after we spent money there, the black bouncers even saw how we were being attacked but this caurcasaion man with ponytail had something against us and asked us to leave, unprofessional, poor service, racist, over rated. They need a upgrade with services and who they choose to work there. Very sloppy place.
Solid option in the Meatpacking district with a lovely rooftop. But, not my favourite option in the area.
Cool place with nice vibes. Not too loud, but also not too laid back. Reasonably prices drinks (for a meatpacking rooftop, of course)
It would be a great hotel, except for the disco on the terrace
Excellent bartenders and an excellent view from the roof top bar makes this place a must visit location in Manhattan!
Perfect location. We stayed here for a staycation. Brought our 13 month old with us and had a blast. Close to many restaurants and walking distance from a lot of attractions.
Great service, nice clean rooms, but the bar/restaurant on the ground floor and on the penthouse are both audible from our room in the 4th floor. I imagine the same is true in the other rooms in the hotel.
Nice location but everything in the room had a price tag and personally I feel like someone is trying to rip me off when I see that. In the end I didn't know if the shampoo and soap were free or not. Also why the panties?
Pleasant hotel, fantastic roof top with swimming pool, ideal for touring the big apple far and wide.
Always such a long and strict line, the venue is never packed and the service is okay. Best part about it is the view.
I LOVED staying at this hotel. It definitely caters to the chic crowd and has a nice touch of elegance. The rooftop bar is just perfect for letting your hair down. Very comfortable beds and the service is top notch as well.
Unique and beautiful. Nice views, and nice area. Internet is slow, not good for business visitors. Loud after hours.
It was a descent experience but... I don't see the purpose of checking out IDs upon entry and then when we wanted to go to the rooftop they told us to go outside and provide ID again. The music was good though but security could use some personality.
Trendy hotel with modern outfit. In a good location and staying at the hotel gives you access to their nightclub upstairs.
Great service - very accommodating staff. I was able to check in early and add someone to the room at the last minute at no additional cost. This hotel is well located. The rooms are small but very nicely outfitted. Good bathroom with all of the things you need. Small but state of the art gym. Great lobby. Highly recommended recommend this hotel.
There is a lot of construction right now, so it may not be the easiest or getting, but the hotel location is great. Meatpacking is relatively Central and, depending on where your visit takes you, it can be well positioned. The staff was nice and the rooms are well appointed. Some of the 3rd floor rooms also have balconies which is a unique touch.
I loved toe rooftop bar, and the views of the skyline and sunset.
One of my favorite hotels in NYC. Location is great, walking distance to the village and soho and easy drive to midtown. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from in the area. The room is quite large, nicely furnished, quiet and comfortable. The hotel has a rooftop pool which is great if you travel during summer months. The pool is quite small but not too crowded and the views are beautiful! Rooftop bar is also a big plus; it s nice to have a drink and watch sunset before heading out for dinner. Overall, great stay; I highly recommend
Where the hip hang out. Or where middle aged business men go after an event to hang with the hip.
Good place to hang out with a couple of friends and have a few drinks. And there is music
Had to stay their one night for a business meeting. Not to shabby. The hotel staff was friendly and the hotel rooms were kept neat and clean.
Good hotel - small but convenient and quiet rooms. Fast check-in and check-out. I just wish they didn't charge for in-room coffee and water - this should be standard free items. It's still my preferred choice for business travel due to proximity to office.
Everyone should see this place at least once as there is usually a line and its nice to know what all the fuss is about. Have been to the rooftop lounge and it's ok.. usually feels a bit crowded and difficult to tell where you should get drinks. The outside and inside have no central vibe other than dark space and uncomfortable chairs. It's a nice view of the city from the meatpacking area and elevators and lobby feel very neon so cant imagine it must a be a comfortable place to stay past one night. Was part of a handful of the first rooftop bars in NYC but now a days there are many to choose from.
Nice hotel, good rooms. Very loud though! I was on the 8th floor and the street noise was very disturbing.
Would have enjoyed the rooftop bar more if it wasn't for the security guard at the elevator in the lobby doing ID checks choosing to insult me tonight. I got my wallet out as I walked in. Unfortunately had one of those situations where my ID was hidden amongst my cards and I started to panic because I'm traveling and can't afford to lose my ID. This man chose to get impatient with me, despite me standing aside to let others come through. I found my ID within seconds and as I approach him to show, he said in the rudest manner, 'Don't do that again!' That was extremely uncalled for as I didn't choose to have my ID getting lost in my wallet. The last thing I needed on my last night in NYC was to be belittled like that. If your staff can't have a few seconds of patience, they shouldn't work with the public. The staff at the bar were at least more welcoming and helpful. The hostess was lovely.
Room is large enough for NYC. Love the location, super convenient if your office is in Chelsea. Hotel also has a super swanky rooftop pool which is perfect for the hot NYC summer!
I love this place, one of my favorite places to go to, when I go to the Meatpacking District. the drinks are pricey but then again what establishment in New York isn't. it has a rooftop deck, which is where they have their events and the views are amazing. The rooms are also really nice, and they're pretty reasonably priced for Manhattan hotel. I would highly recommend anybody touring New York stay here because you'll have a great time.
Great space but lacked good music the night I was there
Cool hotel in a great location. Only downside is they seem to be trying to sell people on everything.
Chic and trendy hotel in the middle of the meatpacking district
Hip hotel. Handsome design. Pricey like everything else in New York.
We are at this hotel for honeymoon and 4nights, my husband and I will not live again. Employees do not speak English or managers. They are charged with the use of all facilities in general 40euro, a shame. We can play tennis 40euro to participate in the competition. Then we went to the sialic acid in the locker room and the staff said 'will extra 20euro per person'! what? Are you kidding at the 40euro tennis match after taking a bath? But unfortunately it won't close you. I smiled and said, 'This is a very bad hotel', but he replied, 'Yes, thank you'... I am very disappointed with this bad hotel. We also spent nearly 40euro using the pool and dressing room with only one lady's shower so you may need to line up! terrible! Everything is expensive. At breakfast, there is a worm tea cylinder - nausea. Not worth the service level of the money I spent. Breakfast is not included in the room rate for an extra 50euro and for each couple daily. As for the location around there is no such hotel, book another hotel. You still can't complain (I tried twice) because the staff doesn't understand English but unfortunately we don't speak Japanese.
Nice boutique hotel. Good location. Friendly staff.
Staff, location and room were amazing. All excerding my expectations! I had been traveling all week a different city each day of the week, and this was by far one,of the best beds for,a hotel!
Location is very convenient and very close to the Google office where I had to be. The rooms are very reasonable ly priced and the hotel staff is very friendly. I wish they had early check in sicne I came in at 10am and had to wait for 2 hours. But other than that, I would recommend this as a price efficient hotel
Nice large room but find the room dark old fashioned.
Interesting mix of new & old architecture, including the, "High Line" and Whitney Museum. Many shopping & dinning choices.
