Strange hotel. Service at the counter was slow and not what I was expecting. I'm not sure what was more objectionable: the hookers I met in the elevator or the pornography (hotel provided reading material) I found in my room.

This place has a lot of potential. It is very beautiful. Unfortunately I cannot say much about the food or drinks because I couldn't stay long enough to try them. When I went there a couple nights ago on a cold 21 degree NYC night, there was no heat. After asking management to turn on the heat, they turned on the AC (or at least it felt like it). Also the bathrooms were dirty and it was pretty early in the night.

Room is lovely and clean, bed is very comfortable. Location is convenient and close to many great restaurants

Great location in the meatpacking district. Our room was spacious and had an excellent view of the Hudson River. The bedding was luxurious and I slept like a baby. The shower was amazing and I loved the bath products too. No free coffee in the room, but there was a little Illy espresso machine which you could use for $3/pod, which made excellent coffee. The Gansevoort is one of my favorite places to stay on NY.

Popped by the rooftop bar for a drink - elderflower & gin cocktail was nice but the main attraction was the view! Worth visiting just to see the skyline beyond the water.

The rooftop pool bar is great! Lots of space to mingle with friends, beautiful views, great music and beautiful people. If you haven't been but you like to visit lounges, you gotta go. You never know who you might run into.

Hotel with interesting pub. Excellent atmosphere and views of exception to the Skyline of New York. Fashion zone. Recommended experience for a few drinks with a partner or friends.

Great location but bartenders seemed inconsistent in their knowledge of drinks.

Two stars for the view, but the crowd turned into a bit of a message too early on. Cocktail was meh.

This is a great hotel in an good location, with a lot of restaurants & bars within walking distance. A perfect place to stay if you are coming in for just 1-2 nights. I just don't think it is a great option for families.

We had the same ridiculous issue with the room temperature that had been mentioned by another reviewer. Our room was 78(!) degrees and when we inquired at the front desk we were told nothing could be done and to open our window. Of course, our window crank was also broken so that was not helpful. Once the front desk staff changed over to the evening staff we inquired again and they were MUCH more responsive and professional and switched our rooms. So kudos to the evening staff but our initial experience was extremely disappointing. Other details: great location, nice views, helpful door and bell staff. As mentioned some things in room were broken and beds were only adequate.

Well at the present time. The entire place is shut down. With chain and pad locks on both doors.

Not what it used to be. All chi chi and expensive stores now. Was much more exciting and fun when it really was a meatpacking district!!

Arrived around 7 pm and was upgraded to a suite. Room was beautiful. Staff was very nice and accommodating. It was a bit rowdy at night but it was St pattys day!

Hotel very nice! Nice rooms! Hyper well placed next to the Chelsea Market, which is perfect for breakfast! 4 stars instead of 5 because the queen size bed is not a 160 but a 140 ...

I liked the decorations of the place but the lobby was freezing cold.

Service was good up until you go to the valer. Every time I spoke with someone we received a different story. First time valet for vendors is free. Second time 24 hour service for $65 for valet and then the latest every time I get my car it's $65. They need to be consistent with messaging.

That place is amazing, I love it. I will recommend to all my friends.

My boyfriend paid $300 to get us two a table and it came with a little surprise: someone stole my wallet from my purse while we were seating there! I get it that that can happen anywhere, but being snubbed by the manager when I complained and being offered courtesy drinks next time you visit us was a slap in the face. Ask me if I ever went back to claim those drinks! But don t worry, they gave me a much less disrespectful answer the next time they heard about me, when I had the police give them a call. Long story short, don t go there! And if you do, watch your purse!

Beautiful views from the roof top. Nice pool. The rooms are on the small size but nice and comfortable.

This was a pretty cool hotel in a great location at a surprisingly reasonable price. The hotel was clean and uniquely finished.

My only complaint would be the price of dinner, but I can't compare with a great many other NYC hotels in this regard. $75 for a pan-fried 6oz fish filet, an apple tart, and a bottle of water seems...steep, even after the service charge and gratuity for room delivery.

FANTASTIC place to hang out. Great place to celebrate any event. LOVE IT!!!

This hotel was very weird. AC doesn't work. Everything in the place is for sale. Literally!. I would not recommend staying there unless you are trying to recreate a cheap false romantic evening.

Everything is up to par with plenty of variety in a pleasant posh neighborhood.

Great modern hotel, lively bar/nightlife. Rooms are a bit on the small side though. Very favorable experience overall.

Great hotel. Awesome location. Rates were descent considering the location & quality of rooms, amenities etc. I would definitely stay again.

I've stayed at different Gansevoort locations, but this by far was the poorest of quality. Check In was sluggish and delayed, we could only check in after 4:30 PM. The location in Meatpacking district is very convenient but the quality of the hotel rooms are abysmal. It seems like we are not the only one experiencing hvac issues for quite some time. Avoid summer months, the A/C unit does not work even if its at the lowest temperature setting. The room itself is a bit grungy and beat up. There were stains on the upholstery, along with ripped marks on the furniture, and the air was musty and damp. The only perk was the pool upstairs but otherwise, there are better properties in the city.

Amazing views, great service, great drinks. Couldn't ask for a better rooftop experience in the highline. My only complaint is the drinks were pretty pricey but given the location, it makes sense.

Location is great, really close to Chelsea. The rooms were very nice and they upgraded me at no charge to a larger room. Great water pressure in the showers. Bluetooth boombox. Very friendly staff. The only complaint I have is that the sheets were a bit on the rough side.

Lovely and vibrant place, with trendy boutiques, and great restaurants. It has quite an interesting history also, and a picturesque view of an old railway track that's been converted into a walkway, called the high line.

One of the best hotel. Great location. Services was on top level. Environment was good. Room was beautiful and well maintained. Staff were professional.

Very nice rooms and decor. Also there is a restaurant downstairs which has decent breakfast.

Great spot for drinks after work. Beautiful atmosphere and polite and courteous staff. Very chic ambiance. Close the A/C trains and right next to Highline park. I highly recommend either staying at this hotel or just passing by to have a drink to enjoy the energy.

This ultra-trendy hotel draws in a young, hip crowd. Can be a bit loud so request a room on the quiet side of the hotel. The rooftop bar is a must visit for drinks, people watching & incredible views.

Great place nicely situated. The rooftop club is really good in the evening.

First trip to NYC. Gansevoort is beautiful and stylish, the location seems great. Local restaurants were delicious. The front desk has been super helpful, and the rooms were very clean.

Great view from the bar. Outdoor pool. Excellent service. Good selection of wine.
