My boss sent me to play in a tournament in Malibu. I've never really traveled much, so I've pretty much been blown away by everything... except this hotel.

It looks amazing from the website and the outside, but everything started to go downhill quickly. Upon checking in, the room wasn't paid for, and it took them a couple minutes to figure out that my boss hadn't faxed some info so the transaction wasn't complete. This happened about a week ago, and could have been cleared up if the hotel just called my boss about it, but they didn't do anything, or even know about the problem until I checked in. I had to pay for my room at the hotel instead, screwing up my budget.

The beds are comfortable, but that's about it. The bathroom is tiny, and I was awoken in the morning by my ceiling dripping water and the bathroom in a giant puddle. After calling guest services, they told me they'd send someone up, which they never did until I called again. The WiFi in my room is terrible and I had to call guest services again, who transferred me to 3 different tech support people before I got disconnected (tech support headaches, even on vacation). I just gave up and tethered internet from my phone's 3G connection.

I don't have room to complain because my boss is sending me down here on the company's dime, but one thing's for sure... if I traveled here on my own budget, I'd never pay to stay in this hotel. I'm off to L.A.X. early now because I can't hang out in this room anymore.

We came to the hotel after driving for hours. While checking in we had a problem with the deposit for the incidentals. But the staff was very patient and helpful even though we surrounded the front office with students and luggage etc. but not once did the staff get frustrated. They even sent us on to the beach and said they would have it all worked out by the time we got back. When we returned the staff welcomed us back and sure enough the issue was taken care of.

The location is quite good but the rooms could be a bit better insulated. On the 5th floor you are almost on par with the interstate. Otherwise, but really nice, spacious rooms and good breakfast.

However, today we received a $27 charge for parking. Problem is, we didn t even park in the lot...They ve running some sort of scam.

And the night front desk agent was very rude and unprofessional with her job, she gave me attitude when check-in at 1130 at night. Then agin when I check out at 5 am she was very rude with me. Made the stay horrible, then charge me the incorrect price for stay out of spite...

Every employee is very pleasant and willing to help in any way. The room was extremely comfortable especially the beds. Even though we didn't go in, the heated pool looked very clean and inviting. We would definitely stay here again if the need arose.

If anyone out there is trying to find deals for hotels visit . booked a resort on there and they had the absolute best rates just about anywhere!

The interiors are modern and luxurious at the same time just like our big suite with a wonderful view of the palm and on the sea. Very nice swimming pool on the fourth floor, great SPA, and incredible Gym, top-level technology equipment. What to say about the whole staff? Not enough words for their kindness and professionalism! Super great service!

We had a mix up with booking on our end and the front desk manager Asar helped us out and made sure we got our accommodation. Great service, nice and clean rooms... Definately recommend this place.

Showed up for our reservation and they didn't have a room. Made us wait for hours to put us in a hotel all the way across town. No apologies at all, no reimbursement. Worse hotel experience ever.

Pros: the free WiFi and access to a computer and free printing is fantastic. Cons: the toilet paper is the thinnest, roughest, and most uncomfortable that I have had the displeasure of experiencing at a hotel. I've been in gas station bathrooms with nicer toilet paper. Seriously, if you stay here, bring a roll of your own with you. You and your bottom will thank me later.

Stayed here for two nights on a recent visit to Los Angeles. Was given the choice between two hotels for my purposes. Hotel itself is nothing special, but our experience was extremely frustrating. After being told over the phone before our visit that breakfast was included in the room rate, we were charged the first morning. Speaking with the front desk, we were told the charges would be reversed. Over the next 3 days and after our return, having spoken with the front desk on 3 different occasions, we received 5 incorrect receipts, all showing the breakfast charge. One receipt had us double charged. No one from the front desk to the manager could give us a straight answer as to how the change would be reflected on our credit card. For such a seemingly straightforward correction the amount of hassle required was painful. Was also told repeatedly over the phone that my math was incorrect and that the amount charged to my card didn't include breakfast (when it obviously did). Would not recommend.

Great location with a walk across the road to the Westfield mall and easy access to the freeway. A quick drive from LAX which was handy after a long flight. Our room was clean, spacious and looked new. The check in staff were lovely. Parking was easy and we found it cheaper than other places in the area. We ll definitely be back here when we re staying in LA next.

Odd suite layout...they didn't build suites into this hotel, it seems. So a 2 bathroom suite is really just 2 connecting rooms, one with a couch, and the other with the bed. Works well, it's just a little weird.

It was a decently quiet room, comfortable bed, clean facilities. I really love the design of the lobby and the restaurant area. The gym was well appointed. We didn't spend any time by the pool, so can't speak to that.

Unfortunately, we had one issue that really let us down. We needed to leave for the airport relatively early this morning, so we put out the doorhanger for breakfast delivery between 6:45 and 7:00 a.m. today. We put the hanger out at 11 p.m. last night, well before the 2 a.m. required deadline. Breakfast didn't show up today, and when I called room service, they said they hadn't had any doorhanger requests turned in. I showed it to the front desk at checkout, and they seemed like they couldn't care less. In addition, my husband asked for change (we needed to be prepared to tip the driver of the rental car shuttle), and they were unable to accommodate us. It was a crummy way to end our stay at the hotel. No apologies were offered. Just some mumbling about how security picks up the door hangers...? It doesn't take much...this will make me rethink a future stay.

I stay at this hotel very very often and this last particular time has been such a nightmare that I will never stay here ever again. Usually, I book online and they charge the entire stay on that card and then when I get to the hotel they ask for a card for incidentals which they put a $50 hold on. When I got there, they charged the entire stay on the card that was supposed to be used for incidentals. I notify them of this after I realized it days later, then they go and charge ANOTHER WRONG CARD WITH THE AMOUNT OF THE ENTIRE STAY. So then days later they finally charge the right card but all of the money from all the other wrong charges are still taken out of my accounts. They have literally charged me over $1,000 and my funds are still not back in my accounts. They haven't tried to accommodate me or make any type of effort to make this right even after admitting this was all their fault. I wouldn't recommend anybody stay here!

I stayed at your Four Points in Westside LA on 9/22. Unfortunately there was an issue with the pipes and after working with the front desk staff and engineers for about an hour I had no choice but to take a cold shower. At checkout I was asked by the GM whether our stay was OK, which is when we shared our issues with him. He offered Starwoods points and a room upgrade next time to make up for it, which at the time was appreciated.

Now objectively I have been very nice to the hotel staff every time we ve communicated, as I always strive to. It s not their fault that the pipes broke or that the room didn t stay the temperature I set it to and they really tried to make it better. Anyways, I told the GM that the staff was great, that I didn t have the same issues my colleague did with them, but that taking a cold shower sucks. I called back today because I never received a folio and unfortunately the staff failed this time. Here s what happened:

1. Called the front desk and was put on hold for 7 minutes
2. Called back and when asked if I could hold I said I was just put on hold for 7 minutes, is there someone I can talk to? . I was immediately put on hold.
3. Waited on hold for another 5 minutes. The same person eventually picks the call back up and then struggled with them to spell my apparently extremely complicated name. When I asked whether my Starwood account was linked to my stay I was put back on hold for several minutes.
4. A brand new person picks up and tells me my Starwood number after I ask the question again.

I honestly couldn t tell if they were messing me or if they are really that bad I haven t gotten angry in months and right now I am infuriated. I genuinely hate this hotel.

At this point I don t even know what else to say to them. They can keep their Starwood points and their room upgrade. This hotel deserves every bad thing coming to them. For the sake of their visitors, I hope they get their act together because it s truly pathetic right now.

Front desk person refuzes to reset the system and the system is failing to charge any of company or personal credit cards.
We tried while speaking with Amex and they don't see it on their side.

All of that... after flying in and working all day, falling asleep in the loby... desperate.

It will get resolved eventually but is this really unavoidable?

The same card works just fine when booking and paying online for this same hotel... but the front desk person sticks to his own version...

The room is nice and clean and the bed is nice and soft... feels like heaven, after those, nearly two, hours spent in the lobby.

I revised my review at the end of my weeks stay which was originally 3 star. First the pros: nicely furnished. Got a decent rate through Amex travel for a week-long trip. Convenient to LAX. Quiet. Right across the street from Westfield mall (very handy)

Cons: We were surprised by the $23 per day parking fees. Seems a little outrageous. We were able to halve it because of a signup for SPG program. Staff was distant and with few exceptions unhelpful. Believe it or not we had trouble getting our room clean. About the third day we started getting whiffs of raw sewage in the bathroom. Yuck.

If we hadn t gotten a great rate (about $40 less than rack per night) I would say not worth the money. There s plenty of other choices around.

The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very nice, and our time was well spent there. I especially liked the blackout panels for the windows. I would definitely stay again if given the opportunity.
