Beautiful landscaping, nice rooms and great views, but the staff except for the gold lounge, were very rude and not friendly. I've been to three other Fairmont's and this one had the worst staff by far.

I cannot say enough about the Fairmont Scottsdale ...

I cannot say enough about the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess! Upon arrival and throughout our stay, we received top-notch service. When we first walked in we were greeted by friendly faces and a very adorable dog! Check-in was easy. The person who checked us in showed us how to get to our room and asked if we wanted to opt-in to their texting service.

Their texting service is the coolest thing; I had never seen anything like it. Once I opted-in they sent me a confirmation text that I could reply to with any questions. Throughout my stay, I was able to inquire about anything I needed to know, as well as order room service and even check out -- all by just sending a text! Each time, the responses were polite, helpful and lightning fast.

As I traveled throughout the grounds, I was struck by how beautiful everything was. The property is stunning and well-kept, and the rooms are luxurious and comfortable.

We utilized the Well and Being Spa and were very pleased. Like the rest of the resort, everyone we met there was just as pleasant and helpful as could be. The services we received were certainly noteworthy. David, the masseuse, did an incredible job. A1 massage that got all the tension out!

For dinner, we LOVED Toro. The fusion of different types of food meant there was something for everyone. Don't skip dessert here!! I'm telling you, go for the La Bomba; it is not only delicious but FUN (you'll see what I mean)! ;)

I am also a big fan of the Plaza Bar. It has a cool, fun atmosphere, but isn't too loud to have a good conversation. The handcrafted drinks were amazing and the perfect way to end one's day at the Princess.

When we returned to our room, the turndown service had been by. The chocolates were a great touch!

On our final day, we enjoyed breakfast in bed (I ordered it by TEXTING them my order -- how great is that)?? They delivered it quickly and everything was really tasty. To check out, I texted them again, verified that I wanted to pay with the card on file, and then they emailed me my receipt!

The staff here is so attentive and friendly, I can't believe how good the service was.

I highly recommend this exceptional resort. I loved my stay, will most certainly be back. Thanks for everything, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess! See you soon!

The front desk lied about having rooms available when their own website showed tons available for my last night at a conference. I should add that when confronted with this they suddenly allowed me to keep my room one more night. That's a one star review right there. Terrible internet, poor food , overpriced drinks, and all the other issues added up make this an awful place to stay. Also its a crazy long walk to some of the rooms and the only self park lot is in a terrible location. I could keep going. Just awful. No thanks.

Whatever you do, don't book through their website. There was no option to not have a non-refundable first night's rate if you need to cancel, no matter how far out from your check-in date you are. Also, my first nights rate was almost twice the rate of my last day. Never have I seen rates for a room set up this way. What a scam! I would never consider staying here again.

We spent most of our time by the fabulous pool! The servers there were amazing. Our hands were not without a cold drink for more than a minute! Saturday we got Lauren B. and Sunday we got Lauren M. Both the Laurens were awesome. In AZ, the heat can get brutal and they were on it! We also ate at one of their restaurants- Toro. Adrian was amazing! He and Raul even helped us practice our Spanish by teaching us new words! We are going back to Toro this evening it was so good! Best sushi we've ever had! Accommodations were also great- cleaning staff was very accommodating. We will definitely be back!

My visit was great, the staff were friendly and helpful and I was given a golf cart ride to my room. Had a burger for dinner and it was well made and arrived as scheduled. Bathroom was well kept and functioned correctly. Staff was very helpful in setting up rides to anywhere I needed to go. Would definitely stay here again.

By far, our best resort experience - ever! From the moment we pulled into the princess valet, every person on staff we came into contact with was incredibly genuine and had a true sense of pride in what they do. Before we arrived, I wasn't feeling very good and consequently my mood was a little off, however, their positive energy rubbed off on me and I began to feel welcomed and happy.
Our first encounter with a princess bellman was the absolute best! Niko went above and beyond to remind us that we needed to relax and enjoy our vacation! He sincerely wanted to make our lives easier and gladly took over all the tedious tasks of getting settled in. We then called the front desk and spoke with Rob to see if there was a vacant suite in the same vicinity of our room overlooking the sunset beach pool (with real white sand)! Rob was able to find a suite and we then came to a very reasonable agreement for the daily upgrade charge. He was so kind and checked in with me the next day with this text message, "Good Day! How is your stay going? Please provide us with any feedback we can use to make your stay perfect! -Rob"
To which I replied, "This resort is the most amazing resort I've ever stayed at!! The staff and all the little details make the experience superb! The only thing that I'm not super satisfied with, is the food thus far. I'm an Arizona native and love my authentic Arizona Mexican food, but La Hacienda was not impressive, in my opinion. My grandma and I were on the same page, but the guys were happy with it... Go figure! Again, this resort is more impressive overall than even my all time favorite resort, the Montage in Laguna beach!" Taylor then sent me a message with, "Good afternoon, Mrs. Cloyd. I am sorry to hear about your experience at La Hacienda, but am thrilled that you are enjoying the property altogether. I hope you have a chance to enjoy our pools today and I would be happy to personally take care of a round of drinks for you, just as a thank you for your valued feedback! - Taylor" This resort is amazing for families and couples! Two of the three nights, We stayed with our 7 year old son, and the kid-centric atmosphere was absolutely perfect! Whether it be hanging out in the sunset white sand pool, racing down one of the slides, zip lining, chatting with mermaids or super heroes, watching the dive-in movie, fireworks, arts/crafts, awesome virtual reality ride, kids club, free super hero capes/masks, photo booths, etc., the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess will knock your socks off with entertainment! On Monday during checkout, I received a compliment on my new beach hat and I quickly recognized him as one of the funny, down-to-earth, friendly hotel staff members we encountered during a golf cart ride! This particular gentleman really takes pride in serving others and delighting his guests! When he complimented me on my hat, I let him know how bummed I was that I lost 3 of my favorite athletic hats at the slide pool and he didn't stop by creating a lost/found claim ticket, he went above and beyond the call of duty and in what seems to be the Princess way of life, took me to the closest gift shop to choose a Fairmont princess athletic hat to take back home to Texas as a souvenir gift! Mr. Thomas Williams, as the director of guest services, leads his amazing team by example. He isn't above hopping on a golf cart to drive guests around in the middle of the scorching AZ sun. His passion for people is everywhere throughout this gorgeous property! Monday after we checked out, we received another message stating, "Thank you for being the best part of the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess! We hope your travels bring you back to stay with us again soon. -Taylor" Added note; When we made the reservation, the 1-800 advisor mistakenly offered to give us a third night free. I asked her to honor the special she quoted and she could not. So, I called the property the very next day and spoke with Lacy who upgraded us to the sunset beach!

I have stayed at other Fairmont hotels and expected exceptional service. As you drive up, the lobby and greeting was what I expected. However, when we reached our room, I was not so impressed. Rooms were a little smaller that usual and bath seemed outdated. Layout was a little awkward. Additionally the dining options were limited as the good steak restaurants were closed during our stay. Even with those couple of disappointments I would have been ok as we did have a good time with my family. However, what really killed it was the last night I was there. I woke up to something crawling on my arm! It was a huge 2-3 cockroach! I could not sleep after that and was disgusted! My daughter slept on the pull out couch and complained about some bites which at first I thought were mosquito bites. Now I am convinced they were flea bites! Not exactly the five star hotel I had in mind. When I told the young lady at check out she seemed to care less and did not even apologize. She just said she would have someone look into it.

It was our first time coming here for a staycation with my family and it was not a 5-star experience. The amenities were nice, staff was courteous but that was it.

My kids loved the beach pool and the princess pool. They also enjoyed the 5-minute fireworks display on Saturday. I enjoyed the drinks by the pool - everything I ordered was a great mix. It was a bummer that their kitchen by the pool closes at 5pm and the bar at 6pm. I was hoping it would be open later than that.

The room we got had bedsheets that were wrinkly and seemed like it was not changed from the previous guests. It also didn't have the pull out sofa bed as we requested upon checking in so I called to have them change our room which they did.

The next room we got had the same layout as the other one - it was small, cramped and the carpet was obvious that it hasn't been vacuumed or shampooed for awhile. The sheets smelled like vinegar! The king bed shrunk in the middle and the patio had bird poop all over. Walls are also so thin that you can hear the other room's conversation. Pillows were flat. By this time my kids were just really anxious to go do activities and i was just getting tired switching rooms so i just called housekeeping to change the sheets.

Did I also mention that it was $15 a day for self parking that I just found out upon checking out?

Overall I don't think it was worth the money.

We enjoyed all of the facilities including multiple pools and the spa. This is especially great for families with young children as there are a lot of things to do and plenty of activities. There is a pool with a beach entrance, a pool with slides and an adult-only pool. They had fireworks at night, fishing in the morning, lots of different activities throughout the day, and we're pretty much always doing something fun for the kids. Anytime we had a need or a question they did a great job answering it and making sure we had what we needed! even though you do pay to park overnight I like it that valet is free because it makes it much easier to navigate the luggage.

Amazing hotel. Been here many times. Wonderful around Christmas time. Crazy busy during Waste Management Open. If you have the opportunity to play golf here just do it. Fun and challenging course. Try to play before or after the Open when the course plays it's hardest.

The ice skating was okay because honestly there was too many people for that very tiny ice rink. The skates were not very sharp, and I feel like it was very hard for people to skate. Also, I know it was only for an hour, but the ice was so terrible to skate on that everybody was falling and it was very difficult for even me to skate on. I feel like you guys could have made it easier for everyone if you guys clean the ice. But other than that it's really pretty. It was definitely not worth $20.

I'm a car for hire for Wingz (bit.ly/DiscoverWingz) and this is a very popular Resort and they have their Christmas lights up now so I thought I'd post some pictures.
The bellboys are on top of things and help you immediately when you pull in and of course they will take the bags for you. I've heard they have some good dining and they have a nice outside patio with warmers. It's a beautiful large resort. Don't forget to tip your driver and the bellboys
It's also popular place to stay during the Phoenix Open and during spring training too.

OMG this place is a campus. I came here for a conference and I must say it is VERY NICE. I was excited for the ample distance between the venues ( because i like to get my steps in) BUT the best part was if you called the front desk, they would send a buggy cart to give you a ride. Never would I have thought about AZ as a get away but this place has everything you need. The food was good, the staff was really friendly and the spa was among one of the best I've visited in a while. I can see myself coming back just for R&R.

Beautiful resort with a fun environment for all ages. Really enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere and The various activities on site. The bed was amazing! My only complaint was the live Christmas music outside my room until 9:30pm. Nobody was in the area listening to the music. Maybe consider ending that earlier on weekdays.

Really nice amenities with awesome pools. Has been updated recently but some age still showed a bit. Was an odor in a downstairs room but housekeeping came and blew some air freshener. It didn't completely remedy things but they tried to fix things. Good responsiveness!

We attended the Mother's Day Brunch at the princess. The food was amazing and the service was good. The price was very expensive considering drinks are not included, you only get one drink for the mother. We knew what we were getting into, $40 a kid and all they're eating is bacon and chicken strips. I think in the future we'll go somewhere that cost a little less that includes drinks, or at least unlimited mimosas. It was nice they didn't make us feel rushed or anything they told us to take our time and go back and eat as much as we wanted. The place wasn't crowded and you weren't waiting in lines for anything. We had reservations for 9 o'clock which you have to show up 10 minutes early or they will not guarantee your table. I didn't mind getting there when they opened because then you know they have everything still. We sat right in front of the live music, which wasn't too loud. The couple that was playing the music played current music like a cover band would. They just had a keyboard and a guitar. The food was everything from breakfast foods including an omelet bar to Sushi and oysters, brisket, chicken. And of course all the mini desserts you can think of. Everything's a small portion so that way you can taste a little bit of everything, one of my favorite things was the lobster chimichangas and the angry tuna roll. Overall a good experience, just probably not worth the price unless you have that kind of money to blow.

Christmas at the Scottsdale Princess! Such a great event! Who wouldn't want to visit a town named Smoreland? Why shouldn't your kids get to experience tubing on REAL ice in the desert? Who doesn't need to have a fun holiday train ride through the Christmas lights?

We had a family birthday party at this fun event! Valet parking is steep at $55 a car but if you spend $75 at a hotel restaurant, you get free parking and free entrance to SMORELAND (kids ride and tubing area) for up to 6 people.

There was also an outdoor ice skating rink. Beautiful sound system featured the best sounding Christmas music out there. I actually had a Disney moment for a couple seconds!

BRING YOUR CAMERA! You might want to take a couple extra minutes and dress your family in a cute way...there are a lot of Kodak moments at the Scottsdale Princess! Perfect for Christmas cards or end of year photos. You can be different and choose to send a Valentine Card to everyone with your Christmas photo on it!

Such a fun night of memories we made. The kids fought a little and we broke it up but hey, what is a family function without a little dysfuction?

Well, we scored a third party rate at $150 for the night on a Wednesday in May. Checked in early and spent the afternoon at their pool. Beautiful atmosphere and amazing staff. Our Pool server, Aileen, learned of our recent engagement during a general inquiry about why we were staying at the resort. Later that day she sent a complimentary bottle of champaign to our room (upgraded) with a personalized note wishing us the best in life and with the wedding plans. Classy place and staff with a great sense of interpersonal intelligence.

Beautiful resort with very friendly staff, but one thing really bothered me... At the Sonoran Landing pool it seems as though every year there continue to be fewer and fewer seats available. This year when we arrived we saw that many of the seats which were once available were now replaced by couches and lounges which you need to pay for in order to use. Very often all the seats at the pool are completely taken, meaning we must look hard in order to find somewhere to sit. Meanwhile, the couches, taking up a large portion of the room, sit empty as no one is willing to pay however much it costs to sit on them. Very disappointing that the staff ask you to get out of your seat when you have nowhere else to go, if you do not "reserve the seats". At a five star resort with a reputation such as this one should not expect this kind of inhospitality and inappropriateness. I surely hope that the resort makes a change to this policy, as it took away the feeling of relaxation and simplicity I, and I'm sure many others, have come to expect from an establishment such as this.
