Customer service is amazing however quality of suits are not up to par with cost. We had 1/2" gaps in our front door which created a freezing cold draft. We also noticed uncleanness in our room. A $600.00 per night room should be perfect in my eyes.

You want to stay in a place that feels like you are living in the mountains but in the lap of luxury? This is the place. The staff are amazing and the deer and elk are quite amazing as well. Great place for family or just chilling out, going to Jasper, stay here!
Also as a great experience here at the lodge. Love the hot tub instead of just the pool they used to have! Amazing dinner in the Emerald Lounge and great atmosphere since it's "Christmas in November" right now.
Cozy, beautiful, cabin like stay. Exceeded my expectations in service. Amazing food at cafe U must try the charcoal croissant!!! Amazing food and service in the main lobby. Valet and guest services staff are too nice! Rooms are a little dated for a 5 star but they're still amazing and there is attention to detail.. amenities are top notch. My only suggestion would be to clean sand out to the hot tub floor. Can't say enough good things! So happy we came.
We were blown away! Totally expected more from the world famous fairmont. The property itself and the lodge were beautiful and we'll taken care of however the rooms were not. They were exact opposite in fact with no attention to detail and no effort put towards cleaning the room. We entered and it is a nice rrom with high ceilings and a James Bond kinda feel like your somewhere special. However as soon as you turn on the lights and look around it is obvious that the room we were in was used and abused most likely by large numbers of people using the cabin for get togethers. The room was so mistreated that the electric heaters had large dents as well as a lamp socket being busted and half hanging off the light shad it was burned to. Burns in the carpet from the fireplace and what seemed like the smell of old alcohol from previously spilled drinks. The room was also very mistreated by maintenance. The front and back door both have large air gaps and made the room quite cold the first night when it -20 heaters couldn't keep up. The plus side was the bathroom floor was heated tile unforunalty it was not done to code and illegal heat trace was put in that actually burned my feet. I am 30 year old man with thick feet a child's would burn instantly. The other problems with the bathroom include centipede like bugs that move quickly and obviously like the warm floor, hot water took literally 15min to reach the cabin so you ran and wasted a lot of water before you got any hot. There were cobwebs everywhere and really dirty glass it was a major failure from what we were expecting. It was no different than a hore hotel.
Love going here. They do everything for you. But you have to pay quite a lot to stay here. Our room was a good size. But we had no hot water. We were unable to shower in our room because of this. We had to shower at the pool. Not great!
Experience the beautiful mountain scenery overlooking Lake Beauvert with 5 star quality accommodation and service. Staff are friendly, helpful and diligent in ensuring guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. The pool is warm and restricted to 25 guests at a time providing appropriate physical distancing. Large property with ample opportunities for hiking, biking and canoeing.
The staff is great! The rooms are not up to the Fairmont standard though, but the hotel made up for it by the amount of things they put on over Christmas.
First and foremost. The service was 5 Star AMAZING. No complaints at all about the amazing service. The rooms itself were old and fairly outdated. We had never stayed at a Fairmont before, and after having seen both the Banff and Lake Louise Fairmont locations my husband was excited to see the Jasper Park Lodge. He was LIVID we when got there and realized how much we were paying for what he felt was a Boy Scout Camp type of room. Very lodge like feel, and not a high class hotel at all. The scenery and views were amazing. The main part of the lobby area of the hotel was nice, and Stanley the Dog was fun to see. The rooms were sub par for what you pay and the curtains showed light from the outside balcony. If going back we would definitely visit the hotel yet probably would not stay here.
The outdoor facilities are fantastic! No doubt. The spectacular lake view and walks around. I give 3 stars because having booked several days in advance, my partner and I arrived at the room and oh surprise we had no towels, soap or anything. Could it be that they forgot? The doubt remains. The other thing is that they told us that there was a buffet breakfast and when we asked about it in the restaurant, there was not, so suddenly a little clearer communication is missing within the staff and with some snacks that we ordered something similar happened. The rest of the hotel is suuuuper!
Service at the 2 restaurants we ate at was mediocre. Food took too long to come out considering the restaurant was not busy at the time. Timing between appetizers and entrees was too long. Front desk and room service was great.
Good place to escape coldness outside. Food is expensive and not delicious at all. But you don't have any choice.
There are planetary tours to show you the star here. They will also provide telescope to let you watch the stars from the sky. But honestly, the star they choose are not very impressive. And they just waste their biggest telescope on the moon. I would rather see satellite from other planet.
The restroom has warm water. It's a good plus. They also provide free lemon water.
Are you looking for an undeserving four-star hotel with bad service, poor management, smelly, outdated and over-priced rooms? Fairmont Jasper will top your list!
I stayed at the Fairmont Jasper, my 12th Fairmont hotel globally, from June 27th to June 29th. Oh boy, the worst stay in my entire travel history. My family and I traveled over 14 hours one-way to Jasper and Fairmont Jasper managed to make us never want to go back again for the following reasons.
First, the hotel staff and management are inconsiderate and hypocritical. Upon arriving the hotel, I noticed the moldy smell in my room. I asked the front desk to send me an air purifier because I have very bad allergy to mold. However, the hotel only sent a cleaning person carrying a refreshing spray to my room. I asked why they did not send an air purifier. The hotel said it s for environmental reason and they are trying to save power. Then I looked at the ingredients on the refreshing spray. Guess what, full of chemicals that did not appear to be environmentally friendly. Clearly the hotel does not have their guests best interests at heart. What s worst is the staff s reaction when I communicated the moldy smell to the hotel. The staff said I don t understand the moldy smell you are talking about. It probably is the cedar smell. I am very offended by the hotel staff s poor manner and inconsiderate attitude. How can anyone undermine others real health condition? Jessica was the manager on duty as I checked in. She didn t even come to me and acknowledge my need for an air purifier.
Second, the hotel is incompetent at resolving noise complaints. On the night of June 28th 2019, my next-door neighbors in room 4X8 (where X=1+1) were having a loud party from 12 am to 2:30am. I reported the noise to the hotel twice during the period. The hotel staff called my room and told me that they couldn t locate the noise while the party was going on. I had to personally knock on the door to resolve the issue. Consequently no sleep for my family and I that night.
Third, the description of the hotel rooms on Fairmont s official website is inconsistent with the actual room. The hotel is an old lodge/cabin that are super outdated. If you choose a cabin/patio view room, it literally means the room facing the parking lot or other hotel rooms. If you anticipate that you will have your own patio, then you are out of luck. The rooms and the patios are fully connected. The walls between rooms are paper thin. When I communicated my observed discrepancy between online description and my assigned room to the front desk upon arrival, the staff was extremely rude by saying What? Were you expecting a castle or high-rise? Too bad, we are a cabin. RUDE!
Fourth, your Fairmont status won t get you anything as other Fairmont hotels. I ve stayed with Fairmont for a long time and accumulated an elite status. However, Fairmont Jasper doesn t offer any perks to Fairmont members with status, at least to me, when I asked specifically.
Fifth, don t have any expectations for in-room WiFi because they do not work. The only place that WiFi will work ok is the lobby. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they told me WiFi doesn t work in parts of our property because we are trying to be environmentally friendly and install less routers. Really? Environmentally-friendly is Fairmont Jasper s excuse for everything now?
Last but not least, as I was checking out and mentioning my poor experience at the resort to the front desk around 10am on June 29th 2019, the manager didn t even bother to chat with me in person and show some basic courtesy to an unsatisfied customer. Instead, he just made the lovely front desk person his delivery person. Very unprofessional and arrogant.
Fairmont Jasper should never be a four star resort. The star rating by Canada Select are usually based on room, service, and amenities. This resort is significantly lacking on room and service. I highly urge Canada Select and other rating agencies to re-evaluate the star ratings. I highly discourage anyone from staying here.
My husband and I stayed in room 332 which has a king size bed. We payed 740$/night for our stay. For that amount of money you expect exceptional accommodations. The service was good and the location was nice. However the rooms were subpar. The room had a carpet and curtains that looked old/outdated. The bathroom had a shower with a plastic tub and the tile in the shower had some grout that was mouldy. The room came with a Danby portable AC unit that was extremely loud and did not let us sleep. We called room service to fix it but they told us all their portable AC units were the same. I was disappointed with the accommodations at this Fairmont and will not be staying here again.
Always a Pleasure to visit JPL. Even if your a Jasper local looking to have some incredible Oka Sushi, a simple lunch on the outdoors padio, a day on the green or a skate on groomed Laundry Lake. Always a Pleasure.
Great location as it feels like calm retreat in the Rockies. Rooms are a little tired but perfectly clean. Main lodge area was nice. Food was below average for the price. Way too much salt!
This hotel is clearly trying to adapt to the new reality of a COVID world. Our online check in was a nice feature but when we said we d arrive at 630pm we expected our room to be ready. It wasn t. Then when our check in process was delayed we weren t informed the deposit would be $300 not the $100 told to us in the check in email. One single regular coffee kerug in the room prompted a call to the front desk. 45 minutes later we gave up and went to breakfast. 6 hours later we returned to our room and still no coffee or towels we had asked for. I can think of better ways to spend $659 a night!
We had to cancel our reservation at the last minute because our son injured his knee and was unable to walk. The JPL was very gracious and accommodating. They re-scheduled our visit at no extra cost. So nice to deal with a great hotel.
We sat on the patio and the waiter came over and said that the patio was not open which made no sense as there were people at tables. Two other tables sat down while we were there with no commentary from said waiter. We did order some food that was fine however the moment was negatively influenced by the terrible service we received. No reason to return to this place.
This so easily could of been a 5 star review The hotel is absolutely beautiful, but my stay was like going to a job. I m very very very very very disappointed my vacation turned into such a night mare with the billing . I was called over 3 times by 3 different people I had to go down to the front desk during my stay absolutely ruined this vacation. I would never ever suggest pre paying for a room. Very very very disappointed my vacation was NOT a VACATION.
I stayed here with some friends for a ladies retreat and it was incredible! Every single staff member went above and beyond to accommodate us, our room was upgraded as courtesy and the food was incredible. I m already considering bringing my family in the summertime as a vacation! Definitely would recommend to anyone!
We simply walked the grounds, and enjoyed the breathtaking vistas! But then we ate at the French Restaurant at the lower floor and were more than pleased! Our waitress, Rose was the best and made the whole experience perfection.
Had an amazing PJ Party experience!! The customer service, food, and gorgeous rooms were more than we had anticipated! We encountered some confusion at checkout concerning our package deal and were happy with the resolution that was accomplished after discussing our concerns with Management.
So nice eat outside looking at the lake upgrade like I did to one of the lake front cabins and you will be glad you did. Also the Internet was super fast.
The resort ground is amazing with great views. Staff is super friendly. The biggest issue is we saw rats in our room for 2 out of 3 nights while we stayed there. They came onto the coffee table for our left over bread. I can't believe it. We will absolutely NOT stay here again.
Love their exclusive brand of toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc). Have stayed in a couple different suites and they were both quite comfortable. Go in the off season or call to check if they have special events going on because if not then you can get the really nice suites at a far more affordable price. Go to the buffet downstairs (a bit pricey, but), you can eat superb cuisine to your hearts content, plus their is an awesome view. I like the individual jams, honey, and the like from Austria, but I would be more impressed if they got these from local growers (or at least Canadian growers).
Rooms have not changed in years and are dated in many ways. Food is absolutely TERRIBLE for the absurd price they charge. Stay for the amenities but drink in your room and eat in Jasper.
Nice hotel but very pricey as you are paying for the view. The ozzy boys outside the hotel are a ball of energy. The staff are always smiling and were very helpful during our stay. It was a pleasant stay.
Great getaway from the bustle of life. Rooms in cabins are nice, however looking closely you can tell they've been remodeled from much older styles. Spa was great, very relaxing. Staff is friendly and professional.
I love a Fairmont property and while the JPL is much more rustic than any other I ve ever stayed, the lack of modern renovations is forgotten when busy taking in all the activities available from skating and swimming to shuffle board and video games... and many more!
This is truly a family friendly resort worth staying at in Jasper.
I gave it a 4/5 because the service in the restaurant/lounge was very slow both evenings we dined there, and I found the available menus where a little lack lustre. Not many great options for non-red meat eating people!
Reid helped check us in and was amazing. Very friendly and helped us get a room we loved. We had great dinner service as well in the main restaurant. Lastly, Brendan from Valet was super friendly and helpful which topped off a perfect stay. I can t wait to come here again one day.
