This hotel has false advertisements. They said you have complimentary Wi-Fi, but it's so slow and when the hotel is busy, you just can't connect. We stayed in the atrium room numerous times during the year, the dining room is the only place you can possibly connect to the Wi-Fi if there's no other functions. Once you got into the sitting room or the bedroom, forget about the internet, it had never been connected. The lounge for frequent visitors are mostly closed, which is quite different from other Hilton around the world. If you want to bring a guest, you'll have to pay. It's cheap. If not because it's closed to my family, I will not come back.

The Markham Suites Conference Center & Spa is a very nice hotel located in Markham, a suburb of Toronto.
The hotel offers ample parking around the spa, hotel, and in a separately located garage. Rooms are large and well appointed; not overly luxurious, but very comfortable.
The hotel has a nice restaurant serving meals throughout the day. The hotel also has an executive lounge for Hilton members to enjoy. While I stayed, I had meals both in the restaurant, and using the room service. All meals I had using both methods were very good.
The hotel is a nice place to stay and is conveniently located to many attractions in the downtown Toronto area.

I stayed here for a conference and had a horrible experience! There were hair shavings on the bathroom counter from a previous guest, the sink stopped was broken/blocking the sink, there was mold in the shower and a vent that blows cold air at you in the bathroom.

When I arrived, the Wifi was down for hours but they didn't warn me. I struggled to connect and only understood why it wasn't working when I called down to ask for help. This is unacceptable for a hotel targeting business travellers!! The next day, the wifi was re-established but extremely slow--to the point that the conference presenters commented on it more than once. I was also given incorrect info on the fitness center hours, which meant I lost an hour and able to take full advantage after taking the time to go there only to find out they were closing in 30 minutes instead of 90. The steam room was also out of order.

As compensation, Hilton HQ offered me breakfast for two for the rest of my stay, but the assistant manager of this hotel decided to provide only one breakfast for one person, valid only on the date that she chose. I was also asked to send photos of the room when they should have just gone and inspected it themselves. I was switched to another room that was slightly cleaner, but just as shabby and with windows so drafty that the curtains kept moving. In the second room, my teeth were chattering again from the air vent when I stepped out of the tub, same as the first room.

I would never stay at this hotel again, and I will think twice before staying in another Hilton.

The place was gorgeous but one thing I did not like about my stay was apparently you need a photo permit of $250 to take pictures of their lobby which was not mentioned on their website. I can't believe that one of the staff threaten to kick us out of the property. I chose this hotel to stay because it was recommended by friends that stayed there before for their wedding preps and they never had to pay for any type of permit. Almost ruined my wedding day. I can't believe it permit for lobby pictures.

I've spent a combined total of four weeks here for work over the past year or so and it is a good, solid hotel. The rooms are quite large (all are suites, so you'll have at least a tiny living room in addition to your bedroom) and the restaurant and bar (while having somewhat limited menus) are high quality and staffed by seasoned pros. The breakfast buffet is also quite a yummy - although slightly expensive) way to start the day.

Some of the features and designs are a little dated, but there was construction/modernization going on when I was there in November'18 so that may no longer be the case soon. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel - it has treated me well throughout my business travels this year.

Great hotel, friendly staff and clean rooms. Some upgrades need to be done, such as loose tile in the shower or broken ironing board, but those things did not impact the overall experience.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good options at the breakfast options at the buffet and dinner at the restaurant. Modern interior. Very busy, can be a little crowded. Would stay again.

This place is always great. Stayed here for many conferences. Nice to see they have upgraded decor and carpets! Looks great. My only reason for a four star instead of five? Restaurants..It has only one and it is not cheap. Food is okay. Miss the Japanese restaurant and others that sit empty. Likely an economic decision, but if you don't feel like venturing out in the cold, a nice place to eat would make it 5 stars. Great fitness centre and amenities!

What a great Hotel! The conference center is connected right to it. The food is pretty good in the restaurants and they have a real nice bar right down on the front. The room was amazing. I recommend if you're attending a conference here you stay in this hotel.

We went to have the brunch buffet at Essence. It was our first time. The food and service was excellent. However, the price I would say is too pricey that I would probably not do it again. It was good food but I can eat good food elsewhere and pay significantly less. $130 for brunch for my wife and kid is a bit too much.

INCREDIBLE service. The staff are so super friendly. I felt like I was at a resort. Very clean and close to a lot of amenities. I understand why this place is so popular for conferences. I felt very relaxed and enjoyed my stay

I was there for a conference and they did a nice job woth the set up of the room as well as coffee tea and lunch. There was a lot of variety to eat and drink and the waitstaff was very attentive. The lunch was buffet style ...delicious and plentiful. Very clean including washrooms. There washrooms are large so no waiting in line for a sink or stall.

Seriously overpriced, plus you have to pay for parking in their lot, and then they add on a 'Common Facilities Fee'. Here is what it's for "The common facilities fee is a Destination Marketing Fee to generate funds for local tourism. The fee is charged to every guest staying at this property, and is automatically added onto the bill with the room charge."
Why am I paying to generate tourism in Markham, as if the super congestion in the area isn't enough? Who spends that money and on what? Sounds like a money grab.
Also, didn't greet me as a diamond member, and did not give me a key to access the executive lounge for breakfast.
Will still stay at the Hiltons I always go to for business, who treat me fairly and tell me about their fees, but this one is off my list to go to and off my list to recommend to my co-workers travelling to the area.

Great hotel, great service. Only issue is when you order room service, note that there is a $3 fee for delivery, 15% fee for gratuity, $3 fee for "misc.". I have yet to figure out what that is, plus it is still expected to tip on top of all that. Otherwise this hotel is awesome. The suites are huge!

VERY DISAPPOINTING HOTEL SERVICE!!!

VERY DISAPPOINTING HOTEL SERVICE!!!
I can't say all staff were unprofessional but the key ones were very unaccommodating, not understanding and inhospitable. One bad apple can spoil a bunch...
One particular staff consistently put blames on his other staff as if he was not representing the hotel at all! His pride was above the guests and not matter how reasonable I was, he would not give ways to make my stay more comfortable. He falsely made claims to put the responsibilities away from him. When a more senior manager was on duty the next morning, all requests are granted without any issue. At the point, my stay was ruined and all of my family was unhappy and disappointed with Hilton; don't even get me started with having a good sleep!

Hilton service is under par, poorly trained staff and inhospitable to guests!!!
If you want to have comfortable stay in Markham, try Marriott which is just down the street. Similar pricing but much better service.

We had a great weekend stay in a king suite. While there was signs of some wear on the room, and the bed was not a king size, the staff was terrific, accommodating, and the facilities were very nice.
