Was there in 2003. Great place for family visit. Looking forward to returning to see what has changed.
Was there in 2003. Great place for family visit. Looking forward to returning to see what has changed.
Outstanding place! Every little detail has been thought through brilliantly here, the biomes are remarkable - we found it quite difficult not to pick any of the fruit in the Mediterranean one, everything they were growing looked amazing. The food in the cafe was great, the gardens are dog friendly outside the biomes which makes for a really nice walk, there's water bowls for them all the way round. The gift shop was great also... Maybe too good, we spent a lot. Also wasn't aware your ticket gets you in for a whole year so we'll definitely be back.
We visited with our children. It was a fantastic day out.
We prebooked our tickets and got into the project quickly. Once inside, there are one way systems in place. However, it was so busy that the initial walk to the bottom felt like a route march. We felt unable to stop to read signs, look at plants or take photos in case we inconvenienced other visitors. The food venue closest to the biomes was incredibly busy and difficult to distance from others. Again, so many people were there that we had to queue for 20 - 30 minutes. We have visited before and really loved it, but the sheer numbers of people here during a global pandemic felt quite unsafe. We plan to come back in October to enjoy it fully when it's less busy.
Superb day out!
We had a great day. Nice people. Ask about The plants outside The Biom and you get a lot of information. The Rainforest Biom was really great. When it is nog to Sunny and you are lucky, you can visit The top of the roof and see a tremendous beautiful view!
The other biom is also nice tot visit, where you can eat good Mediterean food and order some nice organic wines. Don't forget to make a reservation for dinner it can be crowdy!
Visit The park on Mondays till Thursday, so you can stay till over 20:00 hr. Also will The last visitors have a private pick up service tot their parking.
The Sky Wire really looks cool, nut it was crowdy. You can make a reservation online.
Over rated and over priced. Very disappointed. Will not recommend and certainly will not return.
Amazing place to visit, never fails to impress me and I have been here twice!
Very expensive regards food but a great place to visit. If you've liked the lost gardens of Heligan you'll like this.
A fantastic and fascinating place. Understandably doing their best to deal with covid, but we felt that the outdoor one way systems exacerbated bottlenecks, and that the layout of the centre would have lent itself to social distancing as is. Still a fantastic day out though, and well done for opening during these testing times :)
Such an amazing place doing such great work.
I would highly recommend coming here. I've seen reviews saying it's pricey for what it is but I would disagree completely. I think they are doing some incredible work showcasing what a biodiverse planet we have and the importance of sustainability in the day to day things we do. I learn so much here please come along and take everything in
Very enjoyable trip with my wife. Would recommend for anyone to go!
We had an educational fun day out. Loved the biomes, gardens and the gift shop. It was quite busy and some people ignored social distancing rules indoors sadly. There could be more seating, benches outside.
Like the atmosphere, core centre seems to be wasted space though. Can be a bit pretentious at times - went on a locals pass as adult entry very expensive for a repeat visit.
Not really recommended. From a scientific project of great importance for our future, massive commercialization created a hype without reference to the original idea. Even in the biomes you are asked to buy junk everywhere. The advertised "activities" related to space consist of "astronaut training" (press any button quickly) and "drive a Mars rover" (small remote-controlled toy cars)
Totally unique experience - worth doing at least once. The biomes are really fascinating. If you do the rooftop walk be prepared to queue for a while and consider whether you cope with heights as the steps up and platform are suspended and move a bit. I don't cope with heights but I thought it was worth the effort to get up there. The mexican food was a nice change from what is normally offered at this kind of place and was really tasty. There are additional attractions (zip wire and giant swing) which are fairly pricey and are separate to the actual Eden Project. Car park can be a long walk from the centre depending on where you park - I think there might be buses to take you in, but check this first.
Fantastic day out - lots to see and explore both inside and out. Great place for all the family to enjoy.
place maybe and interesting but buy a ticket online some mockery !!! they accept a visit on a day that is not open from the account they charge money and my visit ended in nothing ...
Love the Eden Project. Great at all times of year. Just been to see the Shadows and Light Christmas experience on a cold rainy night in December. It was excellent. The Cores infinity blue sculpture was amazing. Felt like landing on a alien planet.
A fantastic place to visit, whatever the weather. Visited in January but the cold weather doesn't really impact as you're indoors for most of it. The rainforest biome was very impressive. Would suggest arriving early as it gets very busy - also, follow signs rather than satnavs, otherwise you end up going down some very windy roads! Good day out for the family, well-stocked gift shop with local produce too.
After that he went into the kitchen to make himself a sandwich to take to work for his lunch. He cut two pieces of bread and put some cheese on them. Then he thought he needed some salt. When he picked up the salt jar, it fell from his hand and broke on the floor. Salt was everywhere. Some people, he knew, thought that this was also supposed to bring bad luck. But Nikos didn t care. He didn t believe in superstitions.
The Eden Project has so far amazed me with all it has to offer. The Biomes are full of educational notes and scenery to keep you hooked. The rainforest Biome is by far the best, with its fabulous scenery! It has a very humid climate inside which could fool you for being in a real rainforest!
The most boring pointless over hyped place I have ever visited. A complete waste of time & space
We got to the Eden Project around 10:15am. The Rainforest Biome and the Mediterranean Biome are Magnificent. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Eden Project. The person who conceived the idea had vision.
We visited as a weekend away break. We stayed in the YHA (on site) and was able to be in as soon as it opened. We dodged the showers by visiting the domes, and visited the outdoor gardens when it was dry. We were fortunate enough to visit in the winter and managed to see the rainforest garden in the almost dark, when a number of the flowering plants opened. We were almost the first there and the last to leave. It was a fantastic day. We opted to see a couple of the demonstrations, which were well delivered and informative. One of them leading us to buy a new tea we had never had before!
The food in the cafe looks good, but we opted for sandwiches due to the queues. Staff are friendly and helpful, and keen to engage with you about their areas of expertise.
Fascinating. The outside as interesting as the biomes. Staff very friendly and helpful. We went on a Friday and it was quite busy, very hard wearing a mask in the biomes and keeping the distance, but still worth it.
Lots to explore and see. As it's in a quarry there are a few uphill paths. Family all enjoyed the day.
Lots of peeps think this is good eco friendly ya da ya da ya but look into it they are not eco friendly the use alot of things that are not and i am speeking as a local
Outstanding place, lovely staff and great food. Well worth a visit!
We entered the proximity at approximately 11 and it was great. The best part was the check in process. The credit card machine was cool
Very interesting place to visit and some amazing plants. Pretty much fully accessible to wheelchairs as well. But the food is expensive.
We had Thai fish cakes which were very tasty, although a bit dry, they were served with greens and tomato, very tasty, spicy with chillie, cumin and coriander. Instead of serviette the table had a roll of kitchen tissue, as always practical.
We came back in January 2018 and had a fabulous Eden antipasti dish which was a sharing platter and had sweet peppers, sun dried tomatoes, balsamic onions and a tasty mozzarella type cheese, sprinkled with rocket, it was excellent. The meal was in the newly set up mediterranean kitchen alongside the regular one in the link building.
The gentleman on the front desk (Matt Harry) was very helpful and made the experience a lot more pleasurable seeing how busy it was. A great and unique place to go if you have a passion for the environment.
Only issue is it is very expensive for a day visit.
loved it here. would recommend buying tickets before you go to save some money. massive car parks with a shuttle bus service to take you to the entrance. Food a bit pricey so I took mine with me.
What a creation this wonderful place really is. Stunning location. You will need a whole day to take everything in as you walk around the park and the biomes. Eden has everything you need, food courts full of local produce and facilities to suit all. Truly amazing.
I must say I was expecting a lot of this place. We were there on Easter Sunday, so we were expecting it to be quite busy. Add the rain and obviously the biomes would be busy. And yes we were right - it was very busy. But there was so much more spare parking left - I have now idea how they'd get all the people in with that much parking - there definitely wasn't a lot of space inside.
The Mediterranean biome was quite disappointing - a big space was used up for a restaurant. Add to that the two other restaurants in the link - it seemed just like a money making opportunity.
The rainforest biome was great, though - a lot bigger and more interesting.
I always love this place. Wonderful gardens on a sunny day. Enjoyable restaurant too.
Only worth going if you are near Cornwall. The collection of plants was a little disappointing. The canopy platform was quite good.
Very nice, I really enjoyed the two domes and the museum of inventions. 100% recommended.
The project is too expensive for the variety of plants on display
the Eden project is good. But after exploring the rainforest dome I just learned a real valuable lesson which is when y'all go into the rainforest dome you should take of y'all coat and jumper because when I went there I refused to take off my coat 'n' jumper and I sweated so much.
So disappointed, exceptionally long queues for everything, from entry into its own parts inside to waiting for food, overcrowded and not much there to see given the cost! We could barely move as so many people let in, waited 1hour for food then 43min for coffee/tea. Getting into places like the auditorium was 1 hour and 20min. Toilets were filthy. Food area dirty, no one cleaning tables, no cutlery. Eden Project please sort yourselves out - it is wrong to make your customers go through what they have to, you are making a lot of money and offering not much in return!
Expensive for what you get, take a picnic for a really good inexpensive day out, if your local, upgrade to annual pass there is loads going on here. Ice skating is expensive for the time you get and the rinc is small. Spend your money on a souvenir instead, make the most of what's included for your entry fee.
Fantastic place to visit and discover amazing plants and facts from all over the world. It's a great place to learn about improvements that can be done to better ourselves in looking after the planet for future generations. Rainforest bio dome it's absolutely out of this world and will definitely give you a real feeling of being in the actual rain forest. Bio domes are surrounded by wonderful gardens with hidden treasures. The cafe serves delicious food and coffe and there's also a merchandise shop available. Recommended for all ages
Phenomenal place. I have always wanted to visit here and I had high expectations. I wasn t left disappointed! They are following strict government guidance for COVID-19, making their customers feel safe. There is plenty of parking for customers which is free! I really enjoyed the biomes, they explained the importance plants play to our planet. I was especially impressed how accessible it was for less abled bodied people. The staff were friendly and I was amazed at the plethora of restaurants available inside Eden Project - you definitely won t go hungry while visiting. Wildlife is present in the biomes and they are not bothered by the presence of humans. This made it feel more like a rainforest.
Alas, some exhibitions were closed due to coronavirus but more of an excuse to visit again in the future. The gift shop is a bit pricey but it is all local produce and goes back to the Cornish community. The ice cream tasted amazing and would recommend buying some. Would definitely recommend and I will come back in the future
Huge site, will take a day to see it all. No problems to bring a picnic, as food inside is expensive (but quality is fairly good). Ecological/educational themes - this is NOT a theme park, and thrill-ride seekers will be disappointed, except for zip-wire. Bright or inquiring minds will love it. Check website for special events and partial closures. Quite expensive admission - plan ahead and book a voucher, package or deal to get better value.
Futuristic architecture, beautiful gardens, exceptional plants, great mix of information and experience, food is also very ok: a successful project! November visit is worth it, as few visitors. Good contrast to the beautiful Abbeys and castles.
I was disappointed with my visit. I was expecting much more than it was. Very very overpriced for what it was. There were some lovely exotic plants but many plants you could get from garden centres. It felt like an over priced garden centre.
There were only 2 biomes to go in, we thought there would be more as that what it looks like. The core building seemed unessecary, I don t really see the point of it and there were more toilets in there than things to see/do.
Yes, they are beautifully landscaped gardens. But the admission price is very high and is not really in proportion to what is offered. In addition, you stumble over the dining options. The goal seems to be to knock you out as much money as possible. Especially hats off to the marketing club that is behind this ...
Large buildings hosting lots of cafes and some plants. Always wanted to visit, such a letdown. Cafe tables not very clean on day of visit.
Queues were not as bad as we expected. Food was surprisingly really good but on the whole probably not worth the expense.
Great place and only 14 mins from Trebyan House airb&b ! X
Went on a rainy day. Was great, our dog was allowed everywhere except biomes and food places.
Overrated, too expensive, too commercial. Live up to your environmental, ecological credo and replace your stinky diesel busses with environmental friendly alternative.
5 stars for the day out experience gardens and projects. The family had a fantastic time and enjoyed immensley. So thouroughly recommended venue.
ZERO stars for facilities and training. We travelled to the Eden project by EV confident of a charge on site only to be told by several staff that they were out of service and there were no other charge points onsite. They had coned off chargers that looked like they were out of service for a long time and no knowledge of the other rapid charger in another part of their carpark. Fortunately we had zapmap so ignored their lack of site knowledge and found the charger ouselves tucked away in a side carpark. Not really living up to their sustainability and tech for ecology ethos. Please sort out your chargers and add more.
Amazing collection of plant life in simulated environmental conditions under a majestic dome. The rainforest and Mediterranean domes are stunningly, and meticulously cultivated. Wish I lived close enough to take advantage of the annual membership.
Very educational. There is a house for mediteranian and rainforest plants and trees. Cloud bridge is interesting.
Great place to go, saves you on rainy days as all under cover
Van Morrison concert; fantastic! Great venue which seemed to please Van who was relaxed and put on a great show. It was humming!!!
A beautiful place with many interesting exhibits and plants. A great day out.
Food is a little overpriced, but isn't it always at these kind of places?
Staff were very friendly and happy to help, especially at The Eden Pasty, Baobab Rum Bar and on the Tractor Land Train. Thanks all!
Can get very busy though!
A great day out! This was my second visit to the Eden Project and it still impresses me as much as my first visit.
Great place full of interesting plants, and educational too.
You do not have to. With 45 GBP admission for two people completely overpriced and rather something for the kids or school classes ...
What I don t understand is why so expensive? If they lowered prices more people would visit, I can t afford to go again, price hikes are dreadful. Prices in restaurants are too much,
Nice place to see a completely different plant and climate
This is a Modern wonder. This places show the natural beauty of the world. A great educational trip and produce a lot of fresh food. word cannot describe how much this had an impact on me.
No reduced or free soft drinks for designated driver.
Had a great day here. It's a beautiful place and the ice cream is bang tidy! Will definitely come again and bring others with me!
Surprisingly interesting, my two girls enjoyed it the rainforest dome is great to see especially from the platform above
Very nice facility if you are interested in nature, plants and the environment. We visited the Eden Project on a rainy day and spent about 3.5 hours in the biomes and other buildings.
The grounds are very nice and spacious, but on nice days it is certainly very crowded.
On arrival be prepared to queue even if there is only one person in front of you, the staff are transfixed on trying to get your personal details for Gift aid, the couple in front of us were with the cashier for 14 minutes.
The rainforest and Mediterranean biomes are impressive but in March the outdoors are pretty lame other than daffodils.
Eden project is an amazing place that never ceases to amaze. This time round the biomes had fog machines and coloured lighting shining through it and up to the roof. The atmosphere is amazing and it doesn't matter what age you are there's something here for you to do with ease. Definitely worth a visit.
Hi not very impressed we've been before & it was a lot better. Didn't see what we wanted to because of the que's 2 hour wait for the rainforest Biohome so we had a look in the Mediterranean Biohome not as good as last time we went. I went with my wife and sister in law & I went especially to have a look at the new Japanese garden but very disappointed it was rubbish. My wife as Arthritis and found it extremely difficult to walk down from the plum car park 2 and very very painful to walk back up to the car. There used to have a little train & carriages to take you up & down. Before when we've been. I suppose they could have had something to hire but there wasn't anything. Very disappointed.
The biomes are very impressive however there is no wheelchair access from the top of the rainforest canopy to complete the route and misses out a section forcing those to have to go backwards all the way around in the sweltering humidity again.. the ticket prices certainly are not generous considering they have been open for 20 years and still only have two greenhouses of plants.. there is a science building which feels like it was built purely to use up some room.. it is empty rooms with some microscopes viewing some micro-organisms which have been cheaply printed in black and white on plain paper.. the food from this building was also very very poor.. we had a brownie and vegan chocolate cake.. both had no taste and horrible texture.. the views and gardens outside the biomes are impressive and there is nice ice cream sold here on a sunny day.. overall i feel in the 20 years its been here maybe they could have put the extortionate entry and merchandise prices into good use and maybe add some new biomes however small they may be.
Once you have been you've been if you want to use the ice rink it's a rip off.
well worth to visit, plenty to explore for young and old and make sure u take drink with you
Great place. Always changing and always different things to see and do
This place is simply magical. I was emersed in a different world and I loved it.
Remarkable place, what a vision (being unrolled)
It would be good to have more plant labels - people are interested in the plant types (including children! but few labels.
A potted summary of the origins of the hole (landscape, China clay, mining etc) at the site would be a neat add in on the natural history front
I really enjoyed my visit to Eden Project. Personally i liked the tropical part best. Both because it was large, and more exotic. The outdoor areas was not that special at the time of my visit
An absolute blast of a place to visit. I thought it was quite a small affair - I was so wrong. You can easily spend a whole day. The domes are the main attractions - the tropical one has a host of plants and creatures. Make sure you check out the canopy view - but there's plenty of other gardens and bits to look at. Lots of places to eat with really high quality food. Great parking and clean toilets. I'll be going back next time I'm in the area.
Still amazing, but looking a little tired in places and the food has gone noticeably downhill from the very high standards of a few years ago. I enjoyed my 2019 visit much less than 2011 despite the kids being a more suitable age and the Easter space being far preferable to the summer crowds.
We queued to drive into the parking area, got out of the car and queued to get a shuttle bus to the entrance then queued to buy a ticket to get in then queued to get in. Once in we walked in procession around the place as there were to many people to walk freely. The Biomes were horrid, queuing our way through them rather than being able to walk at leisure and take it in. For lunch we queued, there were some activities but big queues. There wasn't really much to do. It has charity status which I think is unfair on other commercial attractions. Eden gets extra income from the taxman on already overpriced tickets. There's no innovation, no new thinking just regurgitation of other peoples hard work - it is a commercial tourist attraction and shouldn't get a tax break. All the while there was an army of staff politely smiling at us as we queued and made our way through the place, shuffling along in a moronic procession hoping to stumble upon something engaging. What a waste of a day.
An incredible visitor attraction just 15 minutes from our villas in Trewhiddle nr. St Austell. Perfect for families and groups of friends, with amazing home-grown food and fascinating exhibits.
Had a great time there, amazing ! My wife s been nagging about going again ever since last trip ! Stayed in a lovely hotel room made from a shipping container. Absolutely love it ! One of the best places to go in the UK.
Excellent idea to recover an abandoned quarry. The visit is very informative. Unique in the disproportionate price and bad catering.
Very interesting place, can get busy at times. The overall experience is very nice. It has a large gift shop with a wide range of gifts. The biomes feel quite hot and humid so bare that in mind e.g. don't go with a thick winter coat or ski jacket. Try to wear a t shirt or something thing to ensure you don't get too hot. The car parks almost always have space and the parking is free of charge meaning you don't pay anything. Once you park there is a bus you get on to take you to buy your tickets. After this you can go ahead and walk down towards the massive domes. There is a seasonal ice rink meaning that If you pay an additional charge you may skate with hired skates. The cost of entry is cheaper if you become a member as it is free once you are a member so if you plan to go two days in a row you should consider this. Also you can use the members parking if you become a member. The biomes have many signs telling you what the names of plants and what they are used for as well as information on plastics and the environment around us. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is passing by the area. However, you need 2 days to see everything properly and you should allow this when planning to go.
