Service was good, room was clean. Hotel is in a good location close to restaurants and shopping. The one thing I have an issue with is that I was charged for a night I didn't spend there, I have called the hotel several times and left messages with the accounting department an have not heard from them.

This Hotel is a classy classic that is both formal and beautiful as well as comfortable and welcoming. The lobby, grounds and grand ballroom, when decked out for the holidays are so bright and beautiful that it inspires the holiday spirit in all who see it.

What a great find in Scottsdale. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and the pools/grounds were inviting. A great courtyard walk around in the evening or sit and sip some chardonnay. The bar staff work super hard, but the management really needs to get them some help. They were way to swamped to cover the tables in their area. They had good pizza and bacon wrapped shrimp.

They have absolutely no Wi-Fi connection or internet connection for one to do business. I have my own MiFi through Version which could not even get connected through the "thick blocks walls" and after seeking advice this was all that their Tech support department could give as a reason for no connectivity to the internet. This place would not a good choice for one to stay if they intend to do business with the outside world. I was in the 9200 wing of rooms within the complex.

First of all, this location is magnificent. The mountains, the landscaping and the nearby upscale shopping make this an ideal place for a getaway or an event.

Although the food can be a bit pricey, the restaurants do not skimp on quality ingredients. Service is excellent and the staff is very friendly.

The rooms are more traditional in decor but the condition of the buildings is generally top-notch.

Parking is ample for those of you who choose to drive here either in a personal or rental car.

Overall, a great place to hangout in the greater Phoenix area.

Amazing hotel! Beautiful ambiance. The layout of the hotel took some getting used to if you're in a big group but once you get the hang of it, it has really nice charm. Would stay here again on a personal trip in the future

reserved a room, within a few minutes canceled it. received confirmation email that transaction was canceled. following week I get a charge from double tree for that room. email stating that it a "No show" and its a nonrefundable charge.
I called double tree and got forwarded to accounting, he didnt answer so i left a voicemail. go no call back, called EVERYDAY and left voicemails with no callback. finally get through and I get the runaround.
I had to call the corporate (1-800 number) to get this resolved.
I haven't stay here,
but with this experience we wont be staying there any time soon

The trade show event was held in the ball room area with lunch held in the center court yard. The ball room was adequate in size if plain, the staff was barely seen except at the catered lunch but were not very helpful, and the court yard had clouds of what appeared to be tiny gnats or aphids which was mildly irritating. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't a great experience either.

I stayed here on a business conference in January and it was spectacular. The property is so big with gorgeous scenery and interesting architecture. The service was a little slower at the main restaurant but we were there during a really off season so it makes sense. The conference rooms were great, a little chilly but nothing a light jacket couldn t fix. The food service was always on time and displayed wonderfully. The rooms were uniquely designed and the cleaning service impeccable. Should I return to scottsdale I would definitely want to stay here again!

I booked the hotel and showed up only to be surprised that the pools were closed and the gym was closed due to construction. One good thing was the breakfast buffet is good value for your money.

During my stay there was a great deal of construction going on during the day. The noise level outside my room was a bit much. Aside from that, I enjoyed my stay and.would definitely recommend this hotel.

DON'T BOOK AT THIS HOTEL THEY HAVE HOUSEKEEPERS WHO STEAL YOUR THINGS WITHOUT PUNISHMENT: This hotel DoubleTree allows their housekeeping to steal laptops from rooms without investigation. The hotel housekeeper kept trying to enter our room while we were there for no reason. The housekeeper then came back again with another woman to see if we were in the room which we were so they played it off as they were checking on us. Long story short, our laptop went missing once housekeeping cleaned our room. We were told the hotel was unable to find it and they have no security cameras, so you or your items are not safe at this hotel. We will make a police report this weekend for robbery by Doubletree. Room was clean, but the remote for the TV was old and nasty. There were hardly any channels, too. The mini fridge was in a strange spot and it's cord was kind of just hanging out, instead of being managed. The toilet is right next to some glass block and while no one can see details, it still makes the bathroom feel less private.
The walls are literal concrete spikes... so if you're drunk or have clumsy kids, be careful. It would also be easy for anyone to climb the walls to get to the second story balconies.

Don't plan on getting your room service any time soon. And when it doesn't come so you can check out in time, don't bother mentioning that you are a Hilton HHonors member so you can get a late checkout - by the way, it doesn't matter to them that you are a Hilton HHonors member. They just want to turn and burn the rooms.

Oh, and by the way, make sure you don't walk around without any clothes on in the morning - the maids there think it's OK to just do random room checks any time they want - even if their chit sheet says that you aren't checked out yet.

Before I checked into my hotel I called to ask the front desk what the security deposit is upon check-in which they told me it was $25 per day. I arrive to my room and it s extremely dirty and very out of date. The two beds were so lumpy I think I would ve rather sleep on the floor going back from both beds. Then I get an alert at 4 o clock in the morning that my credit card is being charged again through The hotel again! So I call the front desk at 4:30 in the morning and she says that it will be taken care of in the morning. I wake up and I get the front us I ll call and explain myself to Clarissa and she s telling me to stop screaming at her which I didn t realize the volume on the phone was all the way up so I wasn t screaming anyone. I guess there s another technical difficulties to address the hotel about their wonderful phone system. I m just trying to figure out why someone is charging my card again. She hung up on me four times I had to call from my phone private To even speak with a manager which turned out to be not even a real manager a supervisor Shay. He then transferred me to to the lady who handles credit card issues. She was no help either when I voice my opinion about my $40 overdraft fee they did not care or make it right. I came here to get away from everything and to relax but all I have had is nothing but stress and chaos the moment I stepped in to this place not to mention I m out money because they screwed up. I will be calling corporate because they are a good company and should be aware of their staff at this hotel to make sure they are fired and have the correct team to represent this wonderful name of the hotel. Not to mention the WiFi does not work goes in and out.

The WiFi here is unacceptably bad--even the login page won't load in many locations (and even tech-support tips I'd already tried that usually work didn't help here). Staff confirmed this is a known. ongoing, oft-complained-about problem the management refuses to address and correct. After eventual success, I'd get kicked off in short whiles, then need to start over.

So I had to use my hotspot, and YAY--at least I could.

A few staff "heroes"--Shay at the front desk stands out--did their bests to be helpful and correct or compensate for problems. But still, I found this "resort" disappointing overall.

Upon arrival I was dismayed to notice my room reeked with a pungent air-freshener spray odor, despite my usual request ahead (which has always, up until now, done the trick) that none be used because I'm allergic. Also I had to ask over again for the extra pillows and towels I had requested alongside room-service items.

There was no robe in my room either, so I had to ask for one to be sent up. The robe turned out to be the opposite of plush and soft--thin and scratchy (not even made of Terrycloth).

My room-service requests (for arrival) were fulfilled correctly--what a delicious surprise. But this review is about the hotel of this "resort"--I found the restaurant excellent, in contrast.

This property is spread out vastly, with sparse signage to guide through many curved and angled indoor halls and labyrinthine outdoor walkways. Guests must hike roundabout, then backtrack.

Elevators are rare--fortunately, I had called ahead during e-check-in to ask about this, so I succeeded in securing a room near an elevator and ice machine, not far from the lobby.

Self-parking is available next to each building, but not necessarily near room doors.

The itty-bitty fridge worked we--but no microwave kep it company.

The private balcony, furnished with one table and two chairs, is impressively wide--a plus, I admit.

The furnishings in my large King bed room were comfortable enough and the design and decore attractive.

The bathroom met DoubleTree standards.

The Diamond benefits here are minimal--NO sweet or salty treats or drink voucher(s) or extra Hilton Honors amenities in the room--just the bottled waters and breakfast vouchers and, yes, the cookie(s). After I left the desk I noticed I'd been handed one less breakfast voucher than nights and had to go back.

Here, morning coffee isn't ever served in the lobby, though the usual two-cup pouch-brewer with packets of the Hilton's house brand that make so-so coffee with an odd solvent aftertaste were supplied in the room. But again, the restaurant made up for this with a pitcher and to-go cups served with cheering smiles. Already, I've given the restaurant five stars.

If only the WiFi worked okay, everything else that fell short of the generous full-service I've come to appreciate at (many) DoubleTrees, would have seemed much better--but alas.

The front desk staff exclaimed "This IS a resort property," meaning expect LESS, not more. So now I know.

Came here for a convention on two separate occasions. The property is lovely and well kept. Front desk staff was friendly and fun. I think the breakfast is way overpriced. Other hotels provide the same thing complimentary. My favorite part is the pools. I will most likely return.

The staff here is extremely accommodating. My buddy is a diamond member for the Hilton group, so we got some excellent accommodations. Even so, the staff was great in the restaurant, and the room service was spot on. The pool was very well-kept and the property is beautiful. The landscaping is well manicured, and there's no ruffians hanging about. Parking could be a little better, but there was plenty of it.

Started great, no wifi, told by desk and Mr. Wong to purchase and we wouldn't be charged, we got charged, ants in bed, moved to a lesser room with a deathtrap shower and no hot water. Starting to rethink DoubleTree.

I will start by saying Chandler at the front desk ...

I will start by saying Chandler at the front desk is truly the shining star of this hotel. He's accommodating above and beyond request, kind, has a great sense of humor and knows how to make customers feel valued. Truly I hope he's appreciated and on the fast track for promotion! He's absolutely worth a stay in this hotel. He wasn't the only amazing staff member there by far the only one I interacted with at the front. Upon arrival I was not greeted pleasantly or even with a smile. When I went back down after dropping off my luggage to ask about a package, the manager made sure I knew she wasn't the valet and she'd get them to answer my question. She wasn't helpful through the duration of my stay and almost seemed happy to inconvenience me at every opportunity she had. As a consumer and a gold member I found this extremely distasteful. I didn't receive any of the accommodations I had requested at booking and had to have them unclog the bathtub drain when I realized it was clogged while my daughter was showering literally an hour after we arrived. I have never had a poor experience at a doubletree anywhere until this stay. The only reason it's not less than 3 stars is because it would be a disservice to Chandler and some of the other amazing staff this hotel has.

Great suite/room. Quiet. The pools are well maintained with staff unobtrusively available. The breakfast buffet was abundant. Location is great to anything in Scottsdale but who wants to leave the resort?!

Attended a Michael Connolly book signing event put on by the Poison Pen. The event was moved out of the main ballroom at the last second. 200+ people crammed into a small room with completely insufficient air conditioning.

We won't be returning to this old Scottsdale hotel.

Breakfast each morning was wonderful. Great selection! The waffles are amazing. They switch it up a bit too by having a different things from day to day.
Our room was good with the exception of the horrible mosquito issue on our balcony. The maintenance had to come spray. We stayed in the presidential suite where we had our own separate pool. The side of the pools white paint was rubbing off into the water. The water was milky and our body would have milky water running off us when we got out.
Another frusturation was that the 2nd pool bar didn't have set hours. The bartender got to choose their own hours from day to day.
All in all, it was a nice resort, with beautiful grounds. The main pool was great. Breakfast was excellent.
