Service was great; room was comfortable; pools were wonderful and open long hours; food was pricey but tasty; exercise room was super clean and well equipped; grounds were immaculate; all staff encountered were friendly, helpful, well dressed, and processional. Karma at the pool bar was a delight. Gentleman working the other pool bar on Saturday 4/28 was pleasant, efficient, and helpful (& it was packed).

There are no microwaves in the room, but a friendly call and in less than 5 minutes I was heating my good..

Towels room service no problem..
Our room was cleaned immaculately and scented ..

I came up and visited the Doubletree for a convention this weekend and primarily use the meeting rooms and ballrooms but also took a trip to the in-house coffee shop which serves Starbucks coffee. the resort staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and willing to help out with any requests that I had. they have ample space plenty of chairs and hookups in the ballrooms for audio and video equipment. the property is very well maintained and has a beautiful entrance with tall palm trees a huge water fountain with some horses in it and some flags it's right off Scottsdale Road and is centrally located to all the hot spots in Phoenix. Although I didn't stay here this trip I believe the room rates right now or sitting in about a hundred and twenty four nine.

My husband and I stayed for one night about a month ago. Nice location but the resort is HUGE and like a labyrinth of outdoor walkways so finding your room can be difficult. There is one elevator near the lobby, otherwise you have to walk around until you find stairs. With all the common areas being outside, there is naturally dirt and debris on the ground.
The room was very outdated and the furniture was arranged strangely. The art in the room was bizarre and looked like it was from the 90s. There was nothing cozy or luxurious about our room. The walls were dingy.
The staff at the hotel were very nice though. It was our 10th anniversary and when the staff found out, we were sent a huge cheese tray and bottle of champagne. It was great!
If Hilton would update the rooms here, this would be a really fabulous place to stay!

The place is in need of a serious update. The rooms are tired and worn. Stains on the carpet in my room the size of a beach ball. Food was mediocre at best and ridiculously priced which I can deal with if the quality was there. This was a business trip and I kept thinking how upset I would be if I d shown up there for pleasure. The last time I was in Scottsdale I stayed at the Phoenician and that s definitely where I will stay when I m back in town.

I've stayed at a lot of hotels over the years. This DoubleTree in Scottsdale is easily within the top three of hotels I've ever stayed at. I am a big fan of the Hilton brand due to the quality generally being good across the board. This hotel even exceeds the high quality standards. First off this hotel really gives a Hawaiian type feel. The grounds are amazing with green grass that is freshly manicured and nice large palm trees throughout. There are two pools. One pool is more of an adult pool with music and a very relaxed feel. The second pool would be more of a family-type pool. The second pool has a basketball goal and volleyball net in the pool. Adjacent to the second pool they have a large sandy area with play structure for children. Both pools have an attached Cabana bar. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are amazingly comfortable. I have not used the multiple restaurants on site but they are available if anyone needs food. I have used the gym and it has everything any person would need to work out. All the equipment is state-of-the-art and practically brand new. All the parking that I've seen and used is free and easily accessible. And last but not least let's not forget the free DoubleTree cookie. I highly recommend anyone coming to the Phoenix area to book a room at this hotel and take advantage of its many amenities, you will not regret it. My only complaint is I feel the front desk is understaffed. There seems to always be a wait if you need anything from them.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE
I drove from San Francisco over 12 hours to deal with this crappy room.

I GAVE THIS DOUBLE TREE A 1 because the front desk felt bad that Hilton reservation (hhonors) lied to me saying its a 4 star hotel. The only thing 4 star is the outside fountain and palm trees. The rooms are older and outdated. 5 minutes in the room my wife was bit by something. The room smelt old and moldy. This is a embarrassment to the Hilton brand.

This hotel is a SCAM!! I've never had such a bad experience at any other hotel in my life. I recently stayed here during a convention (the entire hotel was booked out for this convention) and when i checked my invoice I was charged an extra $400 for room damage - no explanation and no proof of pictures. I called the account department twice two different days and I left two different voicemails before getting a call back. They stated I got charged because of carpet burn?! I DO NOT smoke so I know 100% those burns were not from me. I heard from others that stayed during the convention that they had been charged the same exact thing (along with room service charges for items they never ordered) but had received a separate email explaining the room damage and proof of picture. I emailed the hotel Director, Elisabeth Runyon (who is very rude and not helpful at all), asking her to send me proof of the "carpet burns" and she emailed me back stating she's been "trying" to send me the pictures but they are too large and the email wouldn't send so she's going to send them separately (mind you this is 5 days after I got charged). If she was TRYING so hard to send me the pictures why didn't she send them separately in the first place?! I emailed back explaining that I do not smoke nor did i see those burns before or after I left the room. She did not respond back and the hotel is refusing to refund me my $400 (along with a few other people that got charged the same thing during their stay that weekend). I feel like it's their word against mine but I know they are lying and scammers because I don't smoke!! According to Elisabeth the burns are fresh and are from cigarettes or coals - maybe their maids are going in and smoking in the rooms burning stuff or maybe they are scamming people to pay for the remodeling the hotel is going to do. Regardless SAVE YOURSELF the headache and find a much nicer hotel in Scottsdale. The customer service is horrible and they don't respond back to emails or phone calls. ALSO I read in other reviews they have BED BUGS which is disgusting.

We are Diamond and had an excellent stay. We attended the awesome Baby Boomer NYE party at this resort. Party was fabulous- good drinks and dance music. Hotel staff was terrific and friendly. We had a very spacious and beautiful suite. Definitely ready for a return!

The hotel is ready for a remodel/refresh of the rooms, however, the grounds are beautiful, and staff is friendly, and food is good. Multiple pools, and a nice walking path through the grounds make for a nice experience, too.

First, this is not a resort. Resorts have guest-room doors on the inside. This is a motel. It's a nice motel, but when you drive up to your room and walk to the door of your room, you are staying at a motel, not a resort.

Second, when you check into a resort the desk clerk does not reply with a curt "Name!" when you tell her you've used the online check-in.

Third, resorts have nicely appointed rooms, not rooms with strange empty spaces and mismatched furniture. Resorts also don't have large empty cabinets that don't seem to serve any purpose. There's room for a refrigerator in the 3 empty cabinets, but none exists. As I consider my room, I'm pretty sure I'm sleeping in converted meeting space.

Housekeeping departments at resorts get plenty of training and are provided checklists that prevent dust from collecting on lamps an picture frames (like the dust had collected in my room). I didn't dare check under the bed.

Resorts have plenty of food and beverage outlets that are available for their guests' convenience. This place had everything closed before 8pm except the lobby bar that was staffed by only one person. She was very nice and deserves to work at a better place. The pizza was OK.

Finally, resorts have beautifully appointed grounds. This place may have that, but at night the entire area is dark and creepy, so I couldn't really tell. It's really really dark. It's also accessible from many different areas from the parking lot. If I wasn't a big burly dude, I would not feel safe.

If I can find another Hilton property, I'm checking out of this motel early.

I would SO like to give this place more stars than it's worth but, I can't. The bar staff acts like you're looking for a friend; the users act like they've never smoked pot before, and the Red Army concurs!

I come here every year for a work conference. It never disappoints. The rooms are pristine, the staff is extremely courteous, the grounds are lush, the food they provide for the conference is quite good. My only complaint is that the conference rooms are cold, which is quite a feat for Arizona summers! This resort is great, I highly recommend it.

Not what I have come to expect from a Double Tree. Very old feel to the hotel with little upgrades. Rooms spacious but again, old decor and WiFi was horrible. On the positive side, convenient location and the staff were friendly.

This resort is simply beautiful. It is sprawling, so expect a bit of a hike to the lobby, but parking near the rooms is ample. The pools are beautiful with very nice lounge chairs and cabanas.

This hotel is beautiful. It was a convent back in the day and the adjoining hotel was a monastery. One wonders if there's a tunnel connecting them! The rooms are elegant and spotlessly clean. The staff is excellent. The pool is heated and very pretty. The morning buffet is good with lots of choices. The restaurant is not pricey compared to other places in town and they also have complete facilities.

A great place to stay! They have everything you need you would not have to leave the resort unless you wanted to. Great dining, pools and spa. The rooms are clean and comfortable and all gates and doors are accessible with an app on your phone!

Very good service and comfortable rooms. It's huge so I had a little trouble finding my way around. The rooms face outdoors so on hot days you have to go from ac to heat and back into ac again. It could also use more parking.

The Double Tree resout is a great place to stay and they have some terrific conference space. It can be a challenge to find you room the first time you visit but after a while you can find your way around the property.
The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. There is minimal noise from other guests. The on-site restaurant is also good with terrific service.

Just returned from spending three days at this resort.... loved it! The rooms were spacious. clean, and updated. The grounds are lovely and the health/gym center was fabulous. The staff was very friendly and the pool area was well stocked with beach towels...all the towels you needed. The only thing that was a little inconvenient was that the Wi-Fi was intermittent. The location of this resort was convenient to just about everything...dining, shopping, and recreation. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this resort.

OMG! Lisa at the front desk totally took care of us. I have to admit I read a lot of reviews, and I m a Hilton honors member and a very loyal customer. I read some reviews that made me kind of question this particular resort. When I expressed my concerns to the hotel not only did they reassure me but I got a beautiful room! it s spotless, spacious and bright! The resort is naturalists best friends! I just want to say to the other people that reviewed this hotel in any negative way that they are not right. This is a beautiful!

This hotel/resort is everything wonderful anyone has ever said about it and then some!
Breathtaking- You would never know behind the unique masonry is a tranquil paradise. With lush foliage that provide just the right amount of shade. beautiful canvas with bright flowers give a splash of color to the greenery. The pools and fountain bring down the heat of the hot mid June sun. There is an extensive area of cactus bringing the desert into the landscape, Its beautiful here except for a microwave you will want for nothing during your stay. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are clean crisp and cozy
The ambience provides a perfect escape from the stresses of everyday life. The staff are friendly and eager to provide assistance with anything you might need. And the spa and wellness center revitalize you leaving you feeling recharged. I would highly recommend Double tree whether for business, vacation or retreat. It's an experience...

Wonderful relaxing place to stay. I really didn't feel like I was staying at a hotel, very home like. Hammocks available to lay out and watch the stars at night. Two huge swimming pools, delicious breakfast buffet.
