We stayed here Monday thru Thursday for a seminar. Staff were very friendly and the hotel rooms were clean. Our group participated in a banquet and classes for the week. The rooms were large and adequate for the number of attendees we had. The hotel could use some renovation and updating, otherwise it was a pleasant stay

The room we stayed in (751) was clearly not vacuumed before we arrived. There were visible particles on the floor (dust, bits of shredded chicken, plastic price tags, etc). The front desk quickly sent someone to vacuum, which helped some, but it certainly wasn t a thorough job. The room looked like it hadn t been deep cleaned in years (if ever.) Lots of dust in all the cracks and corners. The carpet was particularly filthy in about a 2-3 inch border around the walls. There was a dead bug above the desk (clearly visible) that had been killed on the wall and was still hanging there. The lamp shade was cracked in multiple places. Some serious updating does need to happen, but I would not ever stay here again due to lack of cleanliness.

I stay here a lot for the park and fly. Nice to be closer to the airport for early morning flights. Bar is great. Haven't ever eaten at the restaurant. The pool serves its purpose. They are extremely courteous to guests and staff does a really good job. Rooms used to be really nice but are starting to show their age a bit in my recent trips. Could use a coat of paint and some new furniture.

That do not in force the pool closing time the tub didn't drane properly the outside of the building needs some major repairs and the manager or person that checked us out at 4:00 in the morning couldn't care less.

Management is AWFUL to say the very least. Wouldn t know where to begin with how terrible both of the managers treated me. Talking back to me. Being extremely nasty, snide and sassy to me etc. They were so rude it made me uncomfortable to even walk through the lobby...
And the walls and floors, I m not kidding you... P A P E R thin. I m young. I can sleep through almost anything but you can hear eeevverrrythinggg outside and in the room next to you. It doesn t even need to be a loud noise. People walking down the hall. Doors closing, etc. It s just not relaxing at all.

Don t be fooled by the pretty-ness of it.

Also, my sink is stopped up and my shower seemed like the water pressure was stopped up. It kept skidding.

Extremely difficult to find the main entrance and the elevators...even had 2 people ask me where the elevators were... haven't been to this hotel in 10 years, and I have no doubt they didn't update a stitch of decorative since.

Second time I've been here. Like the amenities, such as pool, bar, really nice breakfast buffet ($15) and warm chocolate chip cookies when you check in. Wi-Fi was curiously slow in lower levels of hotel such as lobby and banquet room, which was annoying.

Gotta Luv the Gopher State event. I favor the major fellowship here & make it a plan to go as often as possible. If you are into your program, come check us out. Anybody can come but those of us in sobriety really autta check us out. ANNUALLY!

They redone the room since my last stay a year ago. There is a safe in the 2 room jacuzzi suite. Unfortunately one of the side handles came off during the first night of a 3 night stay and as of the 2nd afternoon it still hasn't been repaired. Also the closet doors kept coming off the tracks. But the room was very nice otherwise.

Nice hotel that our corporate travelers frequent. Good rooms at a decent price (with the company discount, not sure on value at full price). The bar staff is very accommodating and helpful.

We waited for two hours upon check in,for the cleaning of our second room. When the room WAS ready, the key still hadn't been brought up as indicated. I had more of an issue with the front desk- the cleaning staff on the 18th floor were fantastic.

This is the 3rd video game event I been to at this venue and the staff treat us like 2nd rate citizens it feels compared to other events happening here.

There is almost 0 communication, the staff seem like they don't want to be here, one of the managers on duty basically told me to get lost when I asked her a question.

As for the room, it's nothing special. I had a bulb out in my bathroom and I told the front desk and they told me a maintenance guy would be up to fix it. After a week the bulb was never fixed. The faucet on the tub came uncaulked.

next to the service elevator, you can imagine how peaceful that is. Our room is also very small for the 4 of us. We have stayed here before and had a really great room last time. Plus they charged me an extra $90 for incidentals before I even walked in the room, what??

I spent most of the time staffing a convention that was being held. So I had minor interaction with my room outside of sleeping. Things I can speak for was how generous and kind the staff were, and how great the showers water pressure was.

Minutes from mall of america but the hotel is very dark. The interior halls are reminiscent of housing project corridors (think candy man ). The rooms have large windows though and the parking lot very ample.

What's Nice: The views, the food, the Wi-Fi
What's Not that Nice: The furniture
Whats bad: The lighting everywhere in the building, the TVs, the toilets are awful and it just seems fake-fancy. There are also a lot of things hanging low that you can hit your head on of you are tall.

Overall: It seems like you give up a lot of things you could get in a different hotel for the view, I would much rather they didn't try to make it seem fancy.

For it's overly high price this place is not a place to stay with family, it is more for business and sleep except it has a lot of conventions here so it's not quiet. The pool is a small puddle. No hot tub or sauna. No breakfast. There is an expensive restaurant/bar I think.

The room was quite clean and so was the bathroom. The only complaint I had was that our room was at the end of the hall next to a service elevator that was used all night. Everytime it went past our floor you could hear it. But the AC / Fan helped to drown out the noise.

WE GOT BEDBUGS! we also were told breakfast was included with our room rate and they didn't give us vouchers for the breakfast so we waited in line for 25 min to be turned away hungry. Terrible hotel. Better off staying in the super 8. NOT HILTON QUALITY. at all.

Very friendly staff. Bathroom not as clean as I'd like, but the beds are so wonderful. Nice, firm mattress and comfy, cozy bedspread (covered spread- nice touch) with 3 fluffy pillows. Spacious rooms with a chair and foot rest next to the large window.

Booked for a convention. Rooms are updated and beds comfortable. The bell staff were very helpful, especially Chris. Helped me carry a large amount of items in and out. Pool is large and the cabana rooms are nice with indoor patio areas that made it nice for our hospitality suites. The only complaint is the lack of food options inside the hotel. The coffee shop had very limited hours and the restaurant was expensive. Fortunately there are many affordable options within walking distance. Also we had to ask daily for our patio lights to be turned on, there is no switches for people to do it yourself.

******RUDE HOTEL MANAGER******

I reserved a room and called back within 5 mins to transfer the reservation NOT cancel, I was switched back and forth with reservations and the front desk at the hotel - the reservation people would not help me or provide me with a supervisor to talk to and the front desk said I had to talk to reservations, I then went to the hotel that I did not want to stay at and the manager in duty Terry Seppala, was smug and condescending after we waited patiently for him to help people who came after us, I would like a refund of my money because we did not stay there at all and the whole thing has been very poor service.

I CALLED AND TSLKED TO CORPORATE AND THEY STILL WONT REFUND Time to get the BBB involved

Not very happy with our last stay. We have stayed in the hotel before and had great experiences, this time not so much. Called at 430 to make our reservation and told them we needed a crib in the room. Got there around 530 no crib. Called the front desk and they said they would bring one right up. An hour later no crib. Called front desk and they said they would bring one right up. 730 comes around still no crib. Called front desk and they inform me there are no more cribs available. Unacceptable. We ended up leaving. Also when we booked the room it was going to be 129.00 for the night. Perfect price. It ended up being 179.00 How is that possible? The manager said they wouldn't charge us for the stay and that he would send us a voucher for a weekend getaway for any doubletree. I haven't received anything yet.

Well, it's time to update. New management is obsessed with money, the hotel has gone downhill in last few years. They treat conventions with impunity and seem to want to drive away their business.

Thin walls, could hear EVERYTHING! Floor was dirty. Towels smelled terrible. No washcloths and no water available unless you buy some on the main level. Overpriced and will not be returning!

The service was great during the stay and the room was nice, however not everything for a typical hotel stay was provided in my room. I had a nice poolside room with quick access to the great pool.

If you re here for the amenities, then I m sure that DoubleTree delivers at five-star expectations. If, however you re here for a good night of sleep, then keep looking. The walls are paper-thin, and I could hear every word that came from the rooms adjacent to mine. This became particularly uncomfortable when one of them started engaging in adult activities late into the night, and kept everyone in my room wide awake to listen.

This building has gone through many owners over the years; its hey-day was back when it was a Radisson and, later, a Sheraton. Sadly, it has not aged well. The staff is courteous and professional but it's just not what it used to be.

I've worked at several different annual conventions taking place in this hotel over the years and have noticed that once it got taken over by the DoubleTree brand, it went seriously downhill. Their demands on event-runners became draconian and unrealistic. They charge for everything, now: nickel-and-diming people who want to rent rooms, here, near-to-death. And they don't budge; there is very little accommodation on their part ... and I say this as a person who has dealt with five different hotel chains over the past 30 years for conventions both recreational and business-oriented.

Honestly, while I'd probably stay in a DoubleTree , they're the last place I would ever go if I was planning a wedding reception, convention, business gathering, or other such event. It seems as if they feel their sheer size and availability of function space allows them to demand that they get their way on corkage fees, loading/unloading, and space usage. Every other hotel I have ever done business with, in addition to a couple convention centers, are more than willing to work with event-planners to understand their needs and waive whatever in-house rules they may normally have to accommodate the groups coming in.

I think the thing I miss the most about this location was the old, Scandinavian restaurant that used to be adjacent to the lobby: Kaffe Stuga. They were a bit pricey but worth it to get solid Nordic cuisine with a high degree of quality. Sadly, they went away long ago...

Anyway, I highly praise the staff; it's the company management and convention services people at the head office that I find to be poor to do business with.
