Sat in the ER for 2+ hours with my 7 year old in abdominal pain when I asked questions I was treated like I was he problem for being concerned. (My son was never seen.) I would have been better off going to temple!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE this is the worst military hospital I ve ever been to!

Rude and unprofessional staff, my visibly wife and I waited an hour when my wife started to feel faint so ask for help at the desk and they gave me a puke bag and only helped when she was 100% unconscious in the waiting room chairs. They then moved us to an empty room which they told us they didn't have

Will never go to this Hospital again . I was 17 weeks pregnant woke up with extreme pain I couldn t even walk and vomiting . Went to the Emergency room and got checked I was miserable I had to wait for two hours before I even got back in a room . Once back there this young Doctor comes in and he s asking my symptoms and takes some test . His conclusion I had a virus that is their favorite diagnosis Fast forward to the next day we go to San Antonio Medical center to the ER due to me still being in so much pain and being expecting was very concerning. Within a few hours they found I had very bad appendicitis ... They said if they wouldn t have caught it that day I would have lost our baby ....

They told us 3 hour wait and put goz and tape until they have time. Sitting in the emergency lobby and looking at everyone that's "much worse" than my son playing and talking on their phone. Try and reframe from coming to this hospital.

I took my son here for the first time ever because he got a concussion at school. They made us sit in the waiting room for 5 hours before he was seen by a doctor. He was rolling his eyes and falling asleep and they did nothing!!!!!! Never again! Because of that hospital I am going back to Chicago when my hubby deploys. I want nothing to do with that place when I have my next child. Sad I refuse to give my hubby a child of his own because I am scared it or I will die in the hospitals care here!!!!!

It s busy, but that s to be expected. The pharmacy is the least efficient place in the building. I ve been to podiatry (Dr. Smith is awesome) and that was a good experience, dermatology was great, pain management has been great, acupuncturist s are great, imaging folks have all been great, orthopedic s has had its moments but still good overall.

I had Malaria, went there told the Nurse at Check in everything that I was feeling and I told her I suspected I had Malaria. She only wrote that I was having a headache. I stayed at waiting room from 6pm to Midnight waiting to see a doctor, I felt worse and I left. I had to take a taxi home coz I couldn't drive myself and went to sick call the following and got the help I needed.

One hour in waiting room two hours in a private room with no radio or TV, mine is a small issue with a damaged thumb nail that wont heal, maybe that's why I still have not seen anyone.
I'll loose an entire days work messing with this VA fascilaty.

I have been coming here for 5 years. I ve had the same issues for 5 years and I ve never been helped. They gave me a Pap smear in 2016, but something went wrong and it was not viable. No one bothered to tell me. In 2017 I get pregnant and was told they were doing a pap along with other tests, but apparently did everything but (pregnancy ended in miscarriage). It s 2019 and I m just now getting one because my doctor informed me that I haven t had a one in 5 years. I ve had multiple miscarriages, chronic insomnia, horrific shoulder pain, an inability to lose weight. I had a botched HSG test at this hospital which led to my multiple miscarriages. The doctor that performed it should never be allowed to practice medicine. He treated me horribly and messed up my body. Yet they want to inform me every time I come that I m morbidly obese (which I am clearly not). I run, lift weights, and eat healthy yet their only explanation for all my suffering is that if I ate better and exercised more all of my problems will go away. I got so sick last spring that I thought I was going to die. I was sick for three months straight and all Darnall would give me was cough drops and ibuprofen. They wouldn t give me any antibiotics. It took me going to an ER in a different hospital to finally get diagnosed with a respiratory infection and get some antibiotics. Bottom line, these people don t care about you. You are just a number or box to check to them.

Staff is extremely rude and nasty... very racist too. It's unfortunate that patients are treated worst then dogs. I'll never trust this hospital with my life!!!!

Honestly the worst hospital on the planet. Couldn t even be there to hear my kids first heartbeat or see the ultrasound because of the No visitors policy after we were told, that they would allow 1 visitor.I will never be a part of or even recommend the Army to anyone after today. Great job Darnall. You re officially the worst hospital and part of an even worse organization. Shame.

through out the years Carl R Darnall Army Medical Clinic has gotten worse, the nurses in the ER department has really nasty attitude, so called PA that goes to school for about 2 yrs to become a doctor has no ideal from their butthole to their noses, not a people person they think they know it all and rely on the internet for a diagnosis. The waiting time it is beyond me I have seen this for myself what they do is sit in their lounge room and bull crap instead attending patients they are eating. None of these Doctors has a business being a Doctor. Several people that have been waiting left the hospital a total 6 people left and my daughter after being called waited another 2 hours finally she had enough especially a high risk pregnancy and she left. The civilian as well the military treat other military as well their family unprofessional, they have nasty attitude and it seems the hospital commander do not give flying rat butt about it. Some need to be terminated those military doctor needs to have their license taken away also they should not let them have medical practices when they get out of the army....this is the worse Army Medical Hospital ever.............this review was not written by josh tennent

No one ever answers the damn phone! I called a month ago, a couple weeks ago and today and Every time I call it rings for like 7 minutes and then just hangs up. Whether I call the information desk or the radiology center or anything! The staff here is not the greatest. When I had an ultrasound when I was about 16 weeks pregnant she was very rough. She put that thing so far into my stomach I thought I was going to have to give birth to that too! She seemed careless about the whole process.

Myself and wife have both been there, each time we had a great experience. The only issue I have is the same as always when dealing with your doctor, you never know if you will get your doctor or someone else.

Horrible place ever... Rude customer service. Phone lines never work. I think its crazy that my husband signed over his life to serve for the government and in return his family receives poor health advice or treatment . You guys need more structure. And people who really love what they do working there. Smh

This place has the WORST services. Some of the employees are rude and disgusting. The policies that are set in place makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I wish I could give a zero because a 1 star is to nice.

Garbage garbage garbage we got transferred from the billy johnson clinic by ems due to high fever and rapid heart rate. We arrive and drop us off in the waiting area 2 hours later still waiting as i right this review. I made a comment out of frustration that this just like the va and the nurse at regestration says yep we are just like the va with a smirk.

I would like to give this place zero stars. Went for a rolled ankle, arrived at 3:56pm with 2 other people in the waiting room. Finally made it to triage an hour later, meanwhile my ankle and foot doubled in size. Was I offered an ice pack or a refill on the bag of ice I had propped on my ankle??? No. Was I offered or given any pain medication....again no. Finally get X-rays, wait an hour and a half to get the vague results. "You have a shadow on your X-ray. It doesn't look like you have a fracture, but you should follow up with your pcm to ensure you don't have an acute fracture. A nurse will be in to stabilize your ankle." Nurse arrives, hands me an air cast in a box, pulls the instructions out the box, & says "here's the English version." "I'm sure you'd rather put this on at home." Seriously, you don't want to ensure I'm "stabilizing" my ankle correctly? I get it, it's not rocket science, but I'm in pain do you really think I'm going to "stabilize" my own ankle properly?

Then as I'm leaving the back of ER to head to the lobby, on crutches mind you, 2 nurses are sitting at the desk by the door that doesn't have a visible button to open the door. I asked them if there was a button to open the door and they both just look dumbfounded. A lady sitting in the lobby assisted me with opening to door, completely useless! I see why people drive to temple!

This place is the worst ever. I checked into ER and of course, there was 8 hours wait for ER. I really don t know why they name themselves Emergency room when nothing seems really emergent to these dumb hospital staffs

This hospital has the WORST ER staff I have ever encountered. On 9 Sept 2015 I took my friend to the ER because her husband had been in a horrific early morning motorcycle accident and was taken to DARNELL HOSPITAL. It had been years past since I had been in this hospital but I was quickly reminded of the arrogancy of the staff once we arrived to the ER. Because it was so early in the morning and I was awaken from my sleep to take my friend to the hospital concerning her injured husband, I had to take my morning seizure meds with me. I figured I could get water from a fountain inside the hospital. I began to approach the ER desk to ask if they had a water fountain after looking around and not seeing one. I took one step in the direction of the desk when one of the ladies quickly raised her hand without speaking and shooed me away. Another lady asked me what did I want? I asked her if there was a water fountain around. She offered to get me some water and I thanked her and waited. I told my friend, "I see this place has not changed." Another lady behind the desk says, "And it's not going to change." At that remark, I told her, " That is the very reason I do not patronize this military installation." The other lady comes back with a very small drink of water in a dixie cup. By then, I'm afraid to drink the water. So I throw the water in the trash and go buy my own water. I don't understand why those females in the ER have such NASTY attitudes. Hospitals have enough to make one sad. If they don't enjoy their jobs they need to give them to others who would appreciate having one. What happen to COMPASSION & CONCERN when it comes to the hospital industry. They should just paint their walls black to match their attitudes. If I was dying.....My last words, I pray....would be...."DO NOT TAKE ME TO DARNELL." This wasn't my 1st horriffic experience with Darnell, but it took me aback & brought ugly memories of when I Used to deal with them when I knew no better or had no choice. I am the spouse of a deceased retired veteran, and it is horrible to think that combined with all the other shortcomings our men who served and died for our country went through, n either them nor their family members can receive decent medical care, nor be treated with a free gift of a simple SMILE & COURTESY. I'm not stopping here....if I have to go to Washington D.C., I promise to be heard and treated better.

Garbage service.I wish I could give ZERO star I got there with stomachache
and 3 hours later, laying in bed with no meds no doctor check up, the container with urine was sit on the table for four hours and no nurse to take to the lab, four hours later different nurse returns saying that she does not know what happened to the blood test and that she has to redo, after five hours she finally give me some pain med after I asked for, have some decency to at least come in and check on the patient and explain what is going on. Shame on them.

STAY AWAY! My 2yr old son was hospitalized in the ICU for "pneumonia" and was forcibly discharged less than 24hrs later. They gave me an option to stay another night or discharge. I requested more than once to stay another day. Dr. Arnold and another Dr. insisted we discharge and assured me he was ok. My desire to keep him there was completely ignored. The same evening, I had to rush my son back to the ER for pneumonia that we later found out was asthma through the childrens hospital in Temple. He stayed overnight and they gave us proper at home treatment for him. And made sure we were completely comfortable before they discharged.
Again, stay away from Darnall. Especially if you have young children who cant speak for themselves!

I had my daughter here and it sucked. they made me wait for a room when I was in labor then once I was in a room I kept telling them it was time for me to have her and they left me in the room and I almost delivered her myself!!! worst experience ever!!!

Showed up for an urgent care appointment. 90 min later my toddler and I are still in the waiting room. We have watched others with appointments after ours be called back to the Dr. Before us.

I have never experienced a worse hospital especially the radiology (CAT scan in particular) department is very rude. They literally do not care about patients and their health. Good luck getting an appointment.

I do not see how this place is able to get ANY stars! It's a death trap to say the least! There is absolutely no way these doctors went through a medical review board, did internships of any kind! On three different occasions my granddaughter and daughter in law was misdiagnosed by the doctors here! The most severe being when my 3 month old granddaughter was diagnosed with having allergies with extremely visual signs she had fluid in her lungs, thus the reason I encouraged my daughter in law to take her. After the misdiagnose, I told her to take her someone else only to find she had pneumonia!!! They have been diagnosed with having eczema that turned out to be wingworms....One wrong diagnosis maybe I'd forever but THREE to include one that could have been detrimental, UNFORGIVING! Now, I question everything and everyone here. They are truly "practicing" medicine at the expense of their patients! If you want to live, don't go here, THE ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE, not worthy to be called a medical Center

I m 11 weeks pregnant and came in with excessive and continuous bleeding where I bled through 2-3 pads and they put me in the waiting room while I was bleeding that whole time for 2 hours as I sat in my shorts that were bled through as well, I also had a pad on..staff up front were also rude..

They are quite unprofessional, uncaring, and usually so involved in their personal conversations that they neglect customers. Typically, they are retirees who received a hookup via knowing the right people, so their jobs are secure, unfortunately.

Customer Care sucks!!! They tried to keep us so the doctor don't do anything all night, they could not figure it out my problem. They tried to guess what was going on with me. Waited 9 hours for no answer.

All I can say is "Meh." I had my son there and needless to say I am so happy delivered my daughter at metroplex instead. I didn't feel at ease there at all and I my son through cesearan. Also, the military nurse was asking me about my husband in an appropriate way smh.

We went to the emergency room tonight for sever abdominal pain along with other very painful issues. The triage nurse didn't listen to what I was telling her. She was very dismissive. Half of my history wasn't placed into the system. She told me medication strength was not necessary to know. She miss placing in the computer some of my previous surgeries. When trying to stand up to leave the room, there was no assistance from her at all. She made a noise of being annoyed because I was moving too slow out of her room.
The nurse who took me back to my room seemed to be in a bad mood as well. She asked for me to give a urine sample. Yet again, she knew that I was in severe pain, instead of assisting me to the bathroom, she just pointed down the hallway.

They wanted to run tests that had nothing to do with what I came in for. They were going to use me as a Guinea pig.

The staffs priorities are all messed up. Nurses on their phones, while my husband asked for my room. The nurse fussed because I asked for water to take my medication. Everything was just so messed up. You could hear the nurses gossiping about patients. It was not a good experience at all. This is not the first time I've been treated poorly at the emergency room. The first time I had been dropped when I passed out. I will for now on just bite the bullet and go to a further hospital to be treated better.

This is the slowest er Ive ever been to in my life. I know the er is not a fast pace setting but I shouldn t be sitting here all day for them to tell me nothing is wrong and to go home when I m still in pain after 12 hours. I wouldn t come back if I was in real pain like that ever again!!

I called a million times trying to get a hold of someone, phones wouldn't get answered rang a million times. I walked in with excruciating chest pains, dizziness, swollen and discolored left arm/hand was purple, shortness of breathe was not feeling good at all and waited hours for a doctor, I was debating on just going home and taking my chances there. Apparently those symptoms aren't classified as a priority.

Got my tonsiloctomy done in March 18, its April 4th and I still have complications, got cotarized 3 times already. It is almost has painful has getting shot. Dont know what method the Doctor used but it seems he didnt do a good job. I bet if I had gone to a hospital were there are no students I would have been fine by know. I wish I had not got this procedure done here.

Absolute garbage. The people who answer the phones will not lift a finger to help, and when you do get an appointment its a month wait, very rude employees, and everyone, including service members are an inconvenience to these people. Do yourself a favor and stay on tricare select so you do have to go to these people, compassionate health care my ass.

Im here only to get a depo shot. I prefer appointnent, but i was told i dont need an appointment that it's walk in. So im here and waiting to be seen. I have been here an hour already, and I just watched 4 nurses pick my folder up and pick someone elses. That is ridiculous!!! So pissed right now!!!! Dont tell me you will be right with me, and have me waiting a whole hour or more just because no one wants to take walk ins. Dont make depo walk in only if you are not willing to take care of them the same as you would any other patient.

Some of the staff here were extremely rude. My mother was here running a very high fever dude to infection, and we'd been waiting in a room for about an hour with no air conditioning. I went and politely asked the desk outside if they could turn the air on for us, because she was seriously uncomfortable due to her fever and it being very hot in our room. A lady then asked me if she had a blanket on and i said yes, because the gown they gave her didn't cover her. Another lady then proceeded to look at me and say, "Well then tell her to take the blanket off then." with attitude and continued to stare at me as if i was stupid for not doing that in the first place. I was intially caught off guard that she would address me and the situation in such a rude way, but after a few seconds said "Ok thanks" and walked away. To which a man then followed me into our room, looked at my mom, and shouted, "Yeah she's wearing a blanket so" to the other people behind the desk, slammed our door, and walked away. The doctor who came in was very nice, it was just the people at the desk who were very unpleasant.

This is by far my first and last time ever delivering here. To be one of the largest bases how can you not have enough room or help to deliver babies that's absolutely ridiculous and the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I have delivered at a military hospital once before and I never waited I was give a date and a time to come in but not here they give you a date and based on if they have room you can come in. Being that I'm overdue I take this very serious. All the money being spent on that new big fancy hospital sure better come well staffed with more delivery rooms. Stay away of you're pregnant I will never go back.

Waited at the pharmacy for almost 2 hours for my sons medication !! When I walked in the quote time for being seen was 60 mins. Yet I was waiting from my check in time at 10:09am to 11:50am was when I finally got his medicine. This seems to happen EVERY single time I have to refill his medication & it is completely ridiculous. They need to work on providing faster services, especially for the families.

I wish I could give this ER negative stars. They don t listen and take forever to see the patient. I requested a blood test and the reply was we don t do those here in the er but my sister who was there previously had her blood drawn. They seem to love running test on things that aren t relevant to what s going on with the patient. Front desk aren t friendly and and phones are out. When the new shift came in all we could hear is laughing and joking while sick patients are waiting. Fire the robots and get some people in there who actually care.

Both times I have been to the ER. Were great. Staff was amazing and didn't wait long to get to the back. 1st time I had to go my step son was sick and the 2nd time my husband broke his wrist. The attention to both were great.

Facility is okay but the fat guy in the emergency department ruined it. Unprofessional. My husband is very sick and can barely talk and so I speak in his behalf. He was rude by asking sarcastically if he can speak. There is always a way of asking professionally even in times of emergency put some empathy too at least!!!!!!!!!

Worst Hospital Ever!! The ER is a joke and they are so under-staffed. You would think a huge, brand new hospital would have an adequate amount of staff. The wait in this ER is the worst I have ever experienced and the staff has no empathy.

I received prenatal care and delivered my baby here. Baby had a few health concerns, and prompt referrals to specialists resulted in those concerns being resolved early. The nursing team was knowledgeable and fast-acting when a problem arose. The entire provider team was fantastic. I would go here even if other choices were as economical for my family, thanks for the excellent care!

I think that since Obama has a low opion of Veterans that this administration does not care how
patients are treated. And the people working there in the ER probably have never been in military . They should be fired for the way they treat people coming in the ER. Get a hold of a Congressman and Inspector General and let them know. Enough complaints maybe someone will listen. Tell the media.

I just had to walk out because the staff are so stupid and, I mean every time I go it s like none of them know what they re there to do. I m never going back ever ever ever like if I go to the er that s means something s wrong with me.

she was 21 1/2 weeks pregnant they go back a month later and they tell her she is 22 weeks and the baby is not viable. She finally got a sonogram thank god for the help from a man at the woman's center. Do you know what They tell her she is 27 weeks. The begist issue is allot have attitudes and people who don't know what they are doing then they act like the top boss. Then if you file a complaint they don't put blame on anyone and sweep it under the rug. They treat retired military people worst then active. It's sad.

My husband and I are new to the army. I moved to the Fort Hood area a couple weeks ago at 36 weeks pregnant. I was nervous to be switching doctors and to be honest I was very nervous to be delivering at a military hospital. It was just never a life plan of mine! I ended up needing a c section bc my baby was breech. I had the best experience from beginning to end. I really felt very taken care of in every aspect. The doctors and nurses were extremely compassionate, the hospital itself was clean and welcoming, the doctors were all so knowledgeable and never seemed rushed to get through my appointments. After my surgery and baby was here they were very thorough with mine and baby's health. The room I was in was private and comfortable. I felt safe and taken care of. The nurses were amazing and the doctors had it together. The whole experience just felt so smooth and everything was handled flawlessly. I loved every doctor I came in contact with from the surgeon to the anethesiologist to the pediatricians. If you are going to have a baby here you're in good hands!!

Just had my child here and it was an amazing experience. The nurses, midwives, doctors here are awesome! There all very positive, understanding and genuinely love there jobs. Only thing that I did not like was that there was no WiFi and most of the TVs did not work but other than that it is a great facility.

First off, Darnall labor and delivery floor is great!!! However, the ER side is horrendous! They need some serious overhauling! The staff are very rude. They have a lack of customer service and quality of care. Which is pretty sad when this is what s available for the men and women who give there lives to fight for this country. The very people who are providing such horrible care could care less. Just be prepared You will be at the ER for 4+ hours just to be seen by a nurse before any treatment is given. Beware if it s an actual emergency!

We moved to Texas in April of this year. It was an adjustment for us Navy Retirees doing business with the Clear Creek Pharmacy but well worth it. Everyone is always very polite , taking the time to explain whatever it is you have questions about regarding your meds. I think the Navy pharmacy can learn something from the Army on this one!

I had an awful experience here. I have to go through one of the worst things that could happen to a woman and the staff here only made everything worse for me. I honestly hate going here because it s awful every single time. They are always messing up, saying wrong things, and giving people false hope. I m sorry to say I had a bad experience and that I don t want to go into further detail but in my opinion, this hospital doesn t even deserve one star. More like zero.
