I am 34 weeks pregnant with Gestational Diabetes and for my INTAKE APT let me be clear INTAKE APT no seeing a doctor no midwife no ultrasound nothing I sat in the waiting room for 40 min!
Not to mention when I arrived front desk at the women's clinic not so friendly and all ALL of my information was incorrect. . .
I would go tricare select and go to a private hospital with a good rep if you are planning to have a baby at fort hood
Told the front desk and she kept saying I was next I told her I had to leave soon because I had to eat due to my gestational diabetes
Then they are so overbooked and although I am past due seeing a doctor and my child is past due for an ultrasound they cannot CANNOT see me until I am 36 weeks and 1 day mind you I have not seen a doctor in A MONTH!! I AM 34 WEEKS NOW

Staff are rude and insensitive to your needs. I mentioned having a history of fainting when getting blood drawn and they laughed at my face and said I needed to get over it. It wasn t until I actually passed out that they took me seriously. Everyone on staff are so clueless to hospital directions. No one communicates with one another. Some providers are very nasty to you. Thinking of changing to a different hospital for when I give birth.

Great hospital! I ve used it many times on different occasions. The emergency room has great staff, always work as fast as possible to get you seen within a decent amount of time. The women s center is great, the staff has always been super nice and helpful. The Obgyn s have all been really nice and talk everything through and are very helpful with information. I just recently had my baby here and it was the best hospital stay I ever had. The staff was amazing! All the nurses and doctors were so nice and respectful of my wishes. Everyone introduced themselves while entering my room. I felt very much comfortable and like I was at home. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone. The service is beyond amazing. Definitely a 5 star rating without a doubt.

to the nice woman at the desk who picked up my call, one of the rudest, most inconsiderate people ive met on post. simply asked for a phone transfer to dental, instead get bombarded with "no i cant transfer you" and "we dont book for so and so" when i clearly repeated multiple times thats not what im calling for, and instead was told to come to the hospital to talk to someone. IF I HAD TIME TO GO THERE, I OBVIOUSLY WOULDNT BE CALLING.

Any time that I come to ER the waiting time is ridiculous the people at the front aren t the most welcoming, the nurse if you are licky you will encounter a nice nurse. The only thing is the physicians have always been nice. But, once they take you to a room they kind forget about you and if they run test the nurse doesn t even stop by once and while to check and at least say something..... never have encountered a medical facility with such a poor service overall!

We just had our daughter here. The staff were all super amazing and super professional. Our midwife was more than happy to joke around with us while still being professional. They didn't rush anything. When we got to the mother baby room they almost completely left us alone except an hourlyish brief visit to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. The food wasn't terrible, TV gets plenty of channels. Bathroom/shower and room was immaculately cleaned.

My only complaint is that there isn't a breakfast taco vending machine. This should exist. Maybe I'll invent it.

I would say that we would happily come here again... But I am getting a vasectomy because I don't need anymore kids.

This is an awful service/customers should be respected and treated well from the front desk representative, they should not employ attitude employees that do not know how to speak to people, customers are the reason your business is operating, you should provide training to Ms. Janie at the well women, if she can not speak to people in a professional manner that job is not for her. So disappointed that, clinic are not even able to provide the services we pay for!! Horrible and awful. This should be a well respected hospital but people like that make it awful.

In my experience, this hospital is seriously understaffed! They do not have enough medical providers for the amount of Dependents/patients that are in the area. They prioritize scheduling appointments for Active Duty which is fine, but then refer you off post or expect you to find your own speciality care providers off post. Very disappointed.

This all happened to my wife this week

This all happened to my wife this week
I went to the ER on Monday with a sever sever headache, a fever of 102, and dizziness. They ran a whole bunch of test and everything came up negative, I ask for a CT scan but they did a spine tap on me to test me for meningitis which came up negative. But the spine tap has a 10% change of complications, which lucky me I fell into the 10% . So now the hole which they took the fluid from my spin is leaking which is giving me a even more sever headache and vomiting. I went to the ER today still running a fever, vomiting, and having even worse headaches and they wanted to preform a blood patch which is where they take my blood from my arm and put it in the hole they created in my spine so it will clot of and potentially stoping the leaking of my spinal fluid. The doctor preforming the procedure thought it would be best to wait until Friday due to the virus that my body is still fighting. So I go back in the morning on Friday for the procedure. But in the mean time I am in so much pain all I can do is lay down to relieve the pressure, because if I get of out of bed to eat or use the restroom I feel like I'm going to faint because the pain is so sever. It s hard for my to keep my food down due the the pain being so high.

Went into the hospital for oral surgery. Came out and part of my lip was gone. Parts of my tooth that was suppose to be taken out is still in, which mean they didn t remove the entire tooth. Have been having headaches and feeling worse than ever, even after the surgery. Don t let them do any types of surgery on you!!! And to conclude when you try to call up there for help there is no direct contact to get a hold of anyone.

Had a traumatic birth experience here due to incompetent nurses that were also very rude and treated me like I was overdramatic . Thankfully my baby and I made it out okay after having to stay a week, but the sheer lack of compassion and bedside manner, paired with complete lack of knowledge and kindness ruined my entire experience. I still have to deal with the emotional pain due to PTSD from this experience. I can never look back on the birth of my baby with happiness, just extreme heartbreak over how rude and clueless some of the nurses and doctors I had were. This was two years ago and I didn t want to go on here and tell my story, but the fact that I still deal with PTSD from the traumatic experience I felt like I need to say something.

Labor and Delivery

Labor and Delivery

My wife and I have been here since 3am and now they want to send us home because she s only 4cm dilated. She s been walking (wobbling) around, getting weaker by the hour and now the send her home with a shot for pain that doesn t help.

Do not ever go to this hospital unless you are in active labor or you just want to waist precious time.

Decent hospital. Had a bad experience regarding pelvic pain where I was treated as if it was in my head. Took nearly 2 years for them to figure out I had a blocked fallopian tube which will not show up on an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech at the time spoke to me in a condescending tone, making me feel stupid. Do yourself a favor, if you have the opportunity to avoid this hospital take it.

I had a surgery about 9 days ago. This hospital staff, doctors, and nurses were knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful. It was true that the wait time in ER was long, I was there on Friday around 10ish or 11 am and I saw the doctor almost 2 pm. Anyway, once I saw the doctor, everything got faster. I want to thank everyone from ER room to the fifth floor nurses and staff. Thank you Dr.Pham, L.T. Carter and everyone. You made my stay in the hospital pleasurable ( even though nobody wanna stay in a hospital.)

I have had my experiences some good and bad with Darnall. I was active duty in the 1990's, and believe me, I used the power of the "PEN" to rectify several problems. First, whenever possible, you should be your own advocate. Demand Respect! There are several agencies within Darnall that will help you with problems- i.e.. (The head of the visited clinic, Hospital Inspector General, Patient Assistance, and DCSE over Darnall). Document, Document, I cant stress this enough!

Darnall has improved over the years, and now they have cards that you can fill out to let them know how the clinics are doing. In addition, these cards are useful in given praises to hospital staff/doctors who are doing a wonderful job.

This Hospital is the worst!!! I recently took my 16 month old son in to be check, they sent me to the urgent care and set me an appointment up, which I was fine with so i didn t have to wait. I show up to my timed appointment n they never called us back so I left to take my son somewhere else. This weekend my husband needed stitches and we left once again after waiting 4 hour there along with the triage nurse being very rude to my husband!! How could a military hospital have such a bad organisation and staff!!! Either they need to hire more people or figure out how to run their hospital!!! This is sad that a military hospital that is open to soldiers and there family don t have there organisation put together!!!
I rather be seen off post at this point!! If it allowed me to just give my feed back I would have never even given it a star!!!!

I went to the information desk at Darnall hospital to ask a question where I could find Referral management and was treated like I was crazy or making things up. They are not helpful at all and for some reason think they can talk down to service members. They are there to provide information to us and to assist us, not to be condescending and rude. I don t need them telling me they ve been there 30 years and have never heard of what I m talking about. I called my clinic instead and was pointed in the right direction. I will just do that in the future instead of asking the unhappy, miserable with their lives, have nothing better to do rude, no tact women at the information desk.

I was reading the reviews of the women who had their babies at Darnall. Things haven't changed. I had my son at Darnall 20 years ago. They put me in a room and sent my family home. I started going into labor and called for a nurse. She came in threw a pad and pencil at me and said "see that clock? Time your contractions"
When I started to deliver they hadn't even called my husband. I ended up having a C section. My son was born healthy and screaming. Apgars were 8 and 9. I have photos of him crying while in the care of the nurse. She wouldn't let my husband and mom take photos while she was doing procedures on him and told them they could leave to make phone calls. Five minutes later my son was in intensive care bleeding from his esophagus. Fourteen hours later he was dead. Several nurses and a doctor pulled my mom to the side and said she needed to look into what happened. They said this wasn't the first time this happened!

I came to DACH ER with a fractured finger 31Jan.18. The nurses were very nice. I had a doctor & a doctor in training they were both great. They explained what they needed to do. Resident Douglas Mack had to insert a needle into my finger nail to remove the blood which builded up in my nail bed. During the procedure he made sure I wasn't in pain & explained what he was doing.
Thank you DACH staff for doing a great job! You are truly appropriated!

Wish I could give it a zero star. I went to the ER...

Wish I could give it a zero star. I went to the ER complaining of shortness of breath on 2 occasions and they kept doing a ECG and sitting me in the waiting room. I finally insisted on speaking with someone because I could barely breathe. The head nurse came over and I told her that it wasn't my heart but I had bad asthma and my inhaler wasn't working. I said there are other emergencies than just a heart attack. Her words "yes, you could be having a lung embolism but you are still going to wait in the waiting room for a few hours". I couldn't believe this woman had just told me that I could be dying and they would just sit me in the waiting room and not do a chest xray or anything . At that point I knew I was in trouble so I left and went to Metroplex outside the gate and was seen within 5 mins. When they check my lungs they were almost completely closed due to the asthma attack I had. If I would have stayed I may have died... I will NOT go back to that ER.

I do not think the doctors at this hospital went through any medical school. I have been complaining to doctors at the padiatric clinic about my daughters tongue since she was born. I told them I feel my daughter had a tongue tie but they told me she was fine. None of the padiatricians ever bothered to check. Every appointment I went I told them to check the tongue but they kept saying my daughter is fine. Behold today after insisting one doctor finally check the tongue today and found out my daughter has a tongue tie. My daughter is now 7monthd old. To make it worse they told me to wait until she is 18month before they can do something.... I cried my eyes out. Worse hospital ever.

This is the worst hospital I've ever seen .Multiple times I've sat for hours just to be seen. I took a soldier there with a stab wound and we waited hours to get looked at. Tonight my partner and I went in to get looked at because we had been in a car accident and were told that the soonest they could take us back was over 4 hours, then also refused to give us a referral somewhere else when we asked. Not to mention the "first look nurse" in the ER where you check in was one of the rudest people I've ever seen in a hospital.

The Women's clinic gives no regards to your concerns about your baby, they do not listen to your health issues, they do not Care about you. Especially the head nurse, I explained my concerns, they all got disregarded like nothing I had to say mattered, I do not recommend this place at all, they claim they care about you, yet schedule "group" appointments and push breast feeding down your throat, I will NEVER go back

I was so nervous about giving birth here because of all the things I had heard. BUT, my experience was so great. Now, it did take three separate visits a few hours apart for them to finally consider me active labor and admit me. But, once I was admitted, I had the most amazing time and such a peaceful birth. My nurses were so amazing and friendly and most DEFINITELY accommodating. They let me do everything the way I wanted to. One of my nurses even overheard that I wanted to keep my placenta and made it possible. They all loved my baby so much once he came. It was so peaceful, me nor my baby cried at delivery lol. The only downside is alllll the food is absolutely trash but it s a hospital not a steakhouse soooo. That s ok. Overall though, I wish I could have my baby again just to have that amazing experience again.

I've gone to the ER twice. Once I had shingles. My PCM couldn't get me in so told me to go to the ER. I waited for 4 hours which was no big deal because it wasn't an emergency. When I told the front staff checking in why I was there he laughed and said "yeah right. You're too young to have shingles" and rolled his eyes. That's really my only complaint. The doctors and nurses were great.

The second time I went was for chest pain. I was seen quickly and the care was fantastic.

I'm currently pregnant and the only complaint I have is how spread apart the hospital is. Walking from the labs to radiology, etc.

I have found most of the check in staff to be rude. I have met some great ones, but the majority are rude. Most of the people on the phone are rude as well. At the end of the day, I care more about my treatment from the doctors and nurses than the check-in staff and I have been more than pleased with all doctors and nurses I have been in contact with.

I will like to said the i remove the people how come to work and do the things right and have the passion and have the flexibility to attend and treat different cain of patients they get more then 5stars, but in the opposite theres people how work at the Darnall the is not here call and vocation to be there and is very sad and more if it is a military hospital it should be more respect with the soldiers and there family's is so scarie even for a child the 4years old like one of my sons getting in the peditric area when some of the tread is not very nice to make the kids feel secure they just scare before the even get in side and u cant see it in her face it but even more the parents when we have to go specially to ER 3times and is not even a diagnostic for my 1year child with 104-5 of fever and they make x-ray and soon they take the x-ray we get back to the room the doctor oh physian said he is fine just give motrin and tylenol is probably a virus and then u get back home looking ur baby badly and then that was Wednesday and i have to go back again Friday in the afternoon and another doctor said is ear infection and he dont said nothing about x-ray and discharge my son with ear infection and give him antibiotic and some other medicine for the allergic and that sit and a 11pm that same day my son weik up with a fever 105 and my husband go this time pix off to the ER worried for are son and the nurse dont even have the sensibility to take tempture to my baby what ever the looks complicate they will avoid it to you to go faster and they dont have a hard time with your kid and then they let my husband waitting there until my baby come down get sleep hours until finally the doctor come back and said it was infection and it was now chest upper respiratory infection so something i even no when i get there more early wau so if my husband dont get back we dont even dont now ...but tha was not the finally yesterday i go to Pediatric apoitment and the pediatric check my son ears and said is not ear infection but keep give him antibiotic. Also we being having problems with are carr i try explain the doctor the my son was very good recovery with the cream the he give him, because before the he get sick we have accident the 1st time with my son he get little born and it was superficial not to worried even the same doctor said it but aparently the procedure was to go back the last week and then yesterday he make ss to come and see my son and it said like intimate way i said the you have to bring it here no matter what so even i have carr and i have money to take a cap and no boddy to ask for favor i dont now what he pretende me to do i tell him if i should come walking and he make me feel like the worst mom when i have being growing up with my husband are kids not family and people to ask 4 favor.... it was really nasty feeling that really no mother how really cares 4 her kids need to go thru that 4 me this is the last draw thanks Dr. DUNGCAN

Take your kids elsewhere. Have your babies elsewhere. Had the worst experience delivering my daughter here. The nurses ignored my every concern. I complained about my legs swelling up after delivery an how it has never happened before, the nurses responded every pregnancy is different. I suffered heart failure 7 days after discharge. Ended up having fluid buildup in my chest. The hospital is a joke !!!

ED review:Went in with labored breathing, headache diarrhea , feeling weak, light-headed and dizzy. The doctor along with his student told me that they can t do anything because of the new COVID guidelines and basically I have to be almost dead in order for them to give me any treatment. Didn t even do any bloodwork to see if I could have an infection or anything just said it could be viral. The worst part was not recommending any at home Or OTC treatment to get better. Could of just saved me my time and told me when I checked in that they won t do anything. Also, I actually called the ED charge nurse before I went and told her my concern and she told me to come in. Guess I m on my own, hope I wake up in the morning.

Well I would give 50 stars if I could. I have used the old Darnall and new Darnall over a period of 18 years. Everything from a multi-vial RAST test for food allergies, to broken bones, to family emergencies and surgeries. Never an issue. Yes the wait times at the ER can be long but everything else has been great. General Surgeon Dr Young performed a complicated surgery on a family member and all was perfect. Nothing but good things to say about Alex Morales in the cast/orthopedic area too. Even rehabbed at the clinic after one broken bone rather than being referred out. Really during a 20 year army career and now 11 years retired I have not had negative experiences with military medicine. And if they don't have the specialist on staff their doctors on staff still have the knowledge and/or experience. Son had a diabetic "attack"...the ER doc and internists handled things very well and he was stabilized, meds adjusted, care plan modified, and released.

My Family and I have used Darnell services off and...

My Family and I have used Darnell services off and on since 1979. In 1979 the hospital was outdated so I was elated when they built the new Hospital and called it a Medical Center. Having used both old and new facilities I can say that other than the new building nothing has really changed. The personal for the most part are still caring and provide some of the best medical care in the world. Recently I've used the cardiology clinic and the Pulmonary Clinic. I am very pleased with the services I receive from Pulmonary, while the services I received from cardiology left a lot to be desired. Dr. Daniels has a very poor bedside manor and refused to answer many questions saying it was not his area of medicine. He made me feel as if I was a pain in his side, and he never answered the questions about a condition, that I went to see him for to begin with, so I had to seek outside cardiac care. Pulmonary however was different, the nurses as well as Dr. (Major) Porr have always treated me well and taken care of my medical needs. Medical care at the Primary clinic ( Family Med) is a little lacking, because unless it is a minor issue the Doctor will not treat you but does a referral instead. Dr. Hall is a nice Guy, and his hands apparently are tied in terms of what he can actually provide. Overall, care at Darnell has been good for my family and myself. I remember the days when retirees were treated as step children, and more often than not had to seek care off Post. Sometimes we still have to go off Post. Factually, Military Doctors are the best in the world, but then again I am a military brat, so most of my care has been by Military Doctors. When I say military doctors, I am referring to the active duty military not the civilian doctors that work at Darnell. Thank you Darnell for taking care of myself and my family. Go Army!

If I could give the ER department negative stars I would. Worst ER in central Texas. If you go in with excruciating pain that has been going on for days, dont expect the ER "doctors" to help you. After you've waited in the waiting room for 4-6 hours doubled over, crying, and yelling, they dont even care if you're there. You get treated like your bothering the staff. You get ZERO help. The Chief over the ER department will not let you go home with pain meds so you have to suffer for as long as it takes to see a "specialist" which could take months. My wife has almost died in this ER because "doctors" dont know their job. Chief Mitchell should be fired for the way he has the ER set up.

The doctors aren t even doctors. They are Miss or Mr. & I hate both Family Medicine. When my kids used Morales she said to lock my 5Yo in her room at night because of her ADHD and blamed me for her issues. When I try to discuss personal issues, I m always just told I am to fat and need to lose weight. YeH, I get that. How bout giving me actual help instead of insults? Wait times are insane and no one can ever get an appointment . I would never recommend and I really hope the army reevaluates the staff and the ones in power here. They are awful. I was also told on MORE than one instance that I should get lab results in a couple hours and it takes DAYS.

Waited for 15 minutes and asked her a second time to have my blood pressure checked, then she started to get all bent out shape guess texting was more important. Anyway security guard finally stepped in and called charge nurse. When she took my blood pressure it was 255/118 oh now your worried and want to take me to the back. Wouldn't want to force anyone to do their job so I left just didn't feel like having a heart attack or dying in their lobby. What is sadder is they treat the soldiers even worse. - I highly recommend going to Darnall for giving birth. The labor and delivery/mother-baby unit are incredible! Definitely 5 stars for those departments. All of the doctors and nurses went above and beyond for us. As scary and hard as giving birth is, they made the whole experience a positive one and they took such good care of my husband and I and really made us comfortable therr. I would go back in a heartbeat.

- The women's center also has great staff and seems to be pretty well run.

- I would suggest avoiding the ER unless you want to sit and wait for HOURS.

- I also avoid going to the hospital's pharmacy, because unless you are in uniform you will usually have to wait at least an hour to pick up your prescriptions.

Still waiting... My 30 week pregnant wife dislocated her knee, and we have been sitting in the waiting room for over 3.5 hours... This is ridiculous. Not only is she in extreme amounts of pain, but there seems to be a lack of staff. For a hospital this large they should have it adequately staffed day and night. There's absolutely no reason they shouldn't have been able to get her a room to make her comfortable. God forbid this go on much longer. I should have just bit the bullet and gone to a real and decent hospital like Metropolex or Seton and paid the money. #neveragain #militarytreatmentfacility

I have gone 3 times in a week i have 2 other kids and know I'm having labor pains and that labor has started I've started dilating having regular contractions and they won't do anything. I have been told that if they break my water I'll be more at risk for a c section which i know from my last two delivers is not true. They have also told me contractions aren't a sign of labor. Worst labor and delivery experience! Half tempted to make a 11 hour drive back home to a hospital that knows what they are doing. I should not be fighting with them on if I'm in labor. They are a waste of time.

I arrived with a less than common skin illness. The staff spent more time in the ER chatting about the cause of the illness and taking cell phone pictures of it than treating it. Course of treatment after admittance called for antibiotics which were administered, then rapidly pulled back (started with 3, pulled back to 1 after one course) once the slightest improvement was seen which resulted in exacerbation of the illness to the point where I could no longer stand on the affected leg and ended up bed ridden. No preventative measures were taken for PE or other blood clots though I was immobile in bed (including bathroom activities) for over 24 hours.

Also presented with a severe headache. Told staff I didn t want narcotics and preferred an NSAID. They administered an NSAID once then started pushing oxycodone and tramadol. Held with a debilitating migraine for 3 days because they advised that they needed me to be able to present a fever to assess their course of treatment for the skin issue. Discovery of a heart condition resulted in me thankfully being moved off base where I was rapidly given a regular course of toradol (an NSAID) and a series of wide spectrum antibiotics.

If you are ok with your prenatal care feeling like a trip to the dmv every time you go this is the place for you.
Wanna wait over a month if a signed document? Don t worry. The front desk staff will not be able to find it and will eventually tell you to just stop calling .
Do you like it when staff makes assumptions about your husband because of a simple request? They got a lady for that too.
Never had a baby or know what to do when you have gestational diabetes? Hang tight. The lady that calls to tell you that you have it has all the answers. Avoid juice. That s the ticket.
Work full time? They tell you when to come in for an appointment despite it not being on your available days off.
Want to avoid all of this? You can t because tricare will not let you get a referral to be seen off post.

Today I went in for my 28 week appointment and I explained to my midwife that I have been experiencing headaches that last for days. Mind you I m already taking baby aspirin to keep my blood pressure steady due to chronic hypertension. All the midwife offered was to give me a stronger medication for my headaches since Tylenol wasn t working. She didn t do any type of work up or exam to see what could possibly be causing the headaches. She just assumed oh you re pregnant that s apart of pregnancy uhmmmm excuse me ma am but you wouldn t know what was causing it unless you did your due diligence and did a check up. Then I began to express to her the pain I ve been experiencing in my lady parts, I ve been unable to do anything without feeling woozy, experience excruciating pain or feeling faint. Just simple things like cooking, showering, driving has become beyond uncomfortable. All she offered was for me to go and spend $200 on a body suit that will supposedly alleviate the pressure on my body. Again no work up. No check up. No nothing. That provider is a joke. The whole hospital is a joke. The lack of care or sympathy is pathetic.

If only the nurses in the ER were actually respectful to patients and visitors and checked on their patients. They're too busy talking to each other and playing on their phones. And they wonder why the ER gets packed. If you consistently worked rather than doing nothing, you wouldn't have a packed ER room.

I had eclampsia but the doctors were trying to send me home when my blood pressure was over 210. Then after I had my daughter they didn't clean anything until the next day. The next day I woke up to a nurse feeding my daughter formula without my permission. My daughter was also man handled by the nurse with a limp. I wish I didn't have to deliver here.

This is where medical care goes to die.

This is where medical care goes to die.
First and foremost, most of the phone lines don't work, and from what I understand that's by design. My provider asked me to file an ICE complaint so the staff would be forced to fix it. Long story short, I had to bring someone from another department to my family medicine home (Grasslands) where she admitted that they do the have a working phone line. I asked why and she said "We new." The new facility opened in April, it was November.
Almost any line you call will ring until you are told the voice mailbox is full. No one wants to talk to you.
You have to take a number just to ask a question. You will wait for at least 30 mins. No one wants to talk to you.
It took me 3 visits over 3 days to get a maintenance prescription. The first time my medical home botched calling to script to the pharmacy (I waited almost 2 hours to learn this) came back and the only provider available won't fill contraceptive scripts. I'm all for religious freedom but maybe have a back up? Third time I finally got the script called in to the pharmacy (went back and forth twice) and waited another 2 hours to have it filled. Retirees told me about the horrific care they receive, and let there be no doubt that it's true. I watched 4 employees just screw around, did nothing for 2 hours. When I went to the "I've been here forever" window I was told "Uh, yeah, we busy today."
No one wants to help you.
This is not about being understaffed or under funded. Theses people do not care about you. It is a culture problem, the culture of this place is simply to draw a paycheck for as little effort as possible. Don't believe me? Walk in with a question.

Sat in the emergency room for 45 minutes with a severed pinky that was cut all the way to my bone. The emergency room had 3 people in it and they took priority over a kid who came in afterwards that had a slight cough. I eventually went into shock due to blood loss.

This hospital has a bad reputation but you cannot ...

This hospital has a bad reputation but you cannot base your patient experience off of others reviews and encounters. The ER wait can be overwhelming at times due to the number of patients, cold/flu season, and the urgency of critical care patients. The inpatient services are good. At times, hospital staff can be insensitive and rude which puts a damper on a patient s care. The old hospital was very outdated and the new facility is beautifully designed despite the lack of space in some areas of the hospital. The only disappointing thing I have experienced is the Women s Health Clinic. It s in desperate need of an overhaul. It maybe due to the number of patients they care for but they lack humility and quality of care at times which is a true disservice to the military and their families. For expected mothers, the journey of pregnancy should be a great experience and your medical team enhance it not make it a hassle. Once again this is just my bad encounters. Military medicine isn t as bad as people make it. Patients just need to make sure they advocate for their rights and access to care.
