To start, the only reason that I gave the one star is because I could not give a zero star. For starters, I went into this dealer on 5/12/18 to inquire about a Honda Odyssey. After speaking with a sales adviser, I requested to speak with the sales manager regarding my trade. I knew that this dealer uses the "trade bonus" to entice customers to come in. On this particular day, the trade bonus was $500.00, so I asked them to appraise my car. They came back with $6,500. Afterwards the sales manager Adam tells me that the best he could do is $7,500. I asked for $8,000. When I asked if the $500.00 "trade bonus" was included, I was told yes. I asked Adam if I could speak with the person making this decision. His manager Shaquille comes to the table and tells me that $7,500 is the best offer, including the "trade bonus." I told them I would pass and left.
On Monday, 5/14/18 I noticed that the "trade bonus" had risen to $1,750.00. I called back and asked to speak with Shaquille, since he makes all the calls. Shaquille tells me that the best he could offer was "what Adam offered me ($7,500). I asked Shaquille to speak with his manager. He transfers me to JP. This person was NO help whatsoever he listed to my story and flat out tells me, a paying customer "If you don't purchase it, I will get it sold..." Such arrogance is what resonated from this place from the top down.
So, in a last ditch effort I called new cars and asked them where the "trade bonus" comes from and if it can be used on new and/or used cars. The sales rep, whom I will not name, tells me that the "trade bonus" comes from marketing and yes, whatever is listed on the site is the dollar amount that can be offered.
On Tuesday, 5/15/18, I called back, spoke with Shaquille, and asked him if he would accept the $7,500 that he arrogantly tells me: "I don't have to honor the deal I said on Saturday." "$6,500 is the best offer." "This vehicle will sell regardless."
All of this to say, I will NEVER go back to David McDavid and the lies they tell, un-professionalism, arrogance, and flat-out not caring.
Long story short, I purchased a better model Odyssey, similar mileage, similar pricing, but MUCH BETTER customer service at AutoNation.
