Love this place. It's LOCAL. I bought an external hard drive here. They support community action projects and they take old printers for free! I'm surprised there aren't more excellent reviews here, because everyone I talk to says this place is the best. The staff is always friendly and helpful, even if they don't sell the thing you're asking about.

Last Friday, I brought in my pc to get it diagnosed for a crashing issue, so I paid the diagnostic fee of $60 , they told me it was the hard drive going bad, so I bought a new ssd for $70, my computer was still crashing, so I was then told it was my update of windows, so we paid $86 for a better windows update, my computer still crashes, so I was then told it was my graphics card, so today I bought a new graphics card for $180, and what do you know, my computer is still crashing, at this point I m extremely frustrated
My 8-year old laptop hard drive quit. Wouldn't boot up. I Thought I lost all my data. Took it in to Cyber Works on Tuesday morning. They installed a new hard drive, upgraded me to Windows 10 and recovered all my data the same day. All for under $300. Outstanding!
Called Cyberworks to my business to look at my router problems. A guy name Kyle came out looked at my ubiquiti and told me they were junk and suggested to change everything. I'm not sure where this kid went to school but there top of the line. So i go to the store to talk to the owner see if he has more insight. This guy Jim know where to be found for days I tried to get a hold of him. One day I went to the store and waited looking around at there over priced inventory. amazon killed there prices. So then I tried camera corner can out 20 mins later everything was up and running!
An employee of Cyberworks destroyed my computer during a repair, however the owner ended up making things right by purchasing a new computer for me. This is why I gave a 4 out of 5.
Lesson learned: As with anything, it's important that you do your research prior to servicing your technology so that you can avoid potential problems. It's also very important that you DO NOT store your files on your hard drive. Make sure that you store your files in the cloud so that you don't lose anything if your computer, phone, etc. is broken.
I want to thank the owner for making things right by replacing my computer.
If zero stars were a review option, I would use it. Smug, arrogant "service". I had to take my computer elsewhere after they had "fixed" it. It is worth driving an hour or two NOT experience this place, its attitude, and incompetence.
I spilled sticky liquid, and a lot of it. They were the only repair service that would guarantee they'd open it up and let the fluid out immediately. The keyboard couldn't be salvaged but they gave me a fair price. Would definitely use them again!
I took my PC into cyberworks becuz my computer was 'fcked by the memz trojan.' They were able to save my computer and all my data. I didnt just get 'fcked by the memz trojan.' At first I asked a fellow in India to fix my computer, but instead he put explicit pictures of Paula Abdul in my downloads folder and charged me $500! what a joke. Cyberworks fixed it . Martin was a true rockstar and did it 4 $50!!!! I stop by every now and then to see Martin because he is such a wonderful human being. He even removed the nude pics of Paula Abdul for me.The administrative assistant, however, could not formulate an english sentence which was strange. This place is da bomb!!!!! I recommended it to my baby mamas mom's baby daddy and she got her super sick gaming rig with a GTX 1050 fixed for a good price! good job Cyberworks!!!!!
A few years back I went there to troubleshoot my computer. I knew I either needed a new power supply or new motherboard. I explained to the sales associate that I was able to do the repair myself but wanted to purchase the parts locally so I could easily return the item if I needed the alternate part. I point blank asked what their return policy was. The associate said I had 14 days to return it for a full refund. I bought the part, went home, tested it and determined I needed the alternate part. I went back to the store the same day to do the exchange. When I got there, a different associate told me there was a 20% restocking fee. I explained that I asked earlier what the return policy was and was never told about a restocking fee. I asked to see a manager who also was unwilling to budge on the restocking fee. I told them if they weren't willing to make an exception, I wouldn't be shopping there ever again. They didn't and I haven't.
Joe did an amazing job promptly fixing the MacBook Air that I purchased here last week.
My computer at a truly reasonable price had a charger that went bad. They replaced the charger at no cost due to my 6 month warranty which was included with the price.
This is a superb shop, and I am happy to be a client.
My laptop would only boot up as far as the desktop and was erratic and often not responsive after that.
I called and then dropped it off there. The morning of the next working day I got a call from Joe telling me the findings and outlining options.
The hard drive was frozen. Joe replaced the old mechanical drive with a solid state one and in another day my laptop was ready to pick up.
I was also advised on my options for recovering the information on the old hard drive. He had tried my old hard drive on 3 or 4 other computers without success.
I am very happy with the result. Joe put Windows 10 on it and he also put some of the apps that he could see on the old computer's desktop onto my new desktop all ready to go.
The price was surprisingly low for the repairs. I would say hardly much more than cost of the parts.
DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM HERE. They have very little selection and what they do have is INSANELY marked up. They are asking $399 for a $250 CPU (Ryzen 1700). Their service may be good, but please, get your components elsewhere. With Amazon existing i would have thought they would be competitive (+10% maybe).
Brought in my PC and they fixed what I needed them to fix but screwed something else up. Had to bring it back. And it was a vicious cycle. They had my PC longer than they should have. Quoted me a week it was almost a month with no response when I called to ask about it.
I am a long time computer hardware geek. Looking back I have to wonder exactly what benefit all the knowledge from online searching, review reading, and specification comparing has brought to me. More and more it seems it has been just a waste of time. I've got a business to run and my time should be spent there. Cyber Works sells quality parts and components. The only junk I've seen in there has been in the hands of people standing in front of the Service Counter wanting to have their 'Big Box' specials fixed. I know enough about computer hardware and Cyber Works has the components I would buy anyway. Just bought a new laptop from them.
Computer manufacturers build products to be used and thrown away. Try and get your big screen LED/LCD TV fixed. The fact that some people complain about poor service at Cyber Works is maybe due to the Cyber Works staff being to eager to please. Might work better if they just told the customers bringing in the junk to be fixed the truth. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I give Cyber Works credit for trying anyway.
I had a great customer experience at Cyber Works today! I brought in my old Dell laptop as I had a potential buyer & just wanted to charge it up and clear out personal records. Zach helped me with that & also let me know the true value of my Dell. He stopped by several times while it was charging and gave me pointers & outright assists on getting my info cleared off, necessary drivers downloaded & free virus protection installed. AND, he treated me like a real person - understanding that I don't know much about computers. While I was there, I could hear the other employees speaking so respectfully with customers. I will definitely come to Cyber Works next time I need service or a new computer.
EVERYTHING is 25-40% MORE EXPENSIVE than Amazon or Newegg. Even if you overnight the product its still cheaper. Very Very Poor selection in store. Its like they buy their products at a closing sale than jack the price up. Employees don't know much about computers, only have basic knowledge.
Can't stand to do any sort of business with a man who exudes so much arrogance. No thanks! Off to Camera Corner where I should have went to begin with! Owner definitely needs to have a talk with staff about customer service and appropriate attitudes to have while working in customer service.
I am not a tech guy. I rely on Cyberworks for all of the computers in our family. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. I have been a dedicated customer for nearly 10 years and they have always treated me right. Recently, I had multiple issues with a refurbished unit that I bought there and they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. They even covered a part that was outside the warranty. Thanks Cyberworks for being such a valuable part of our team!
Went there to find a basic desktop for my garage. Jim hooked me up with a system that had 4 gigs of ram dedicated video card and dual core processor. Cost me under a hundred bucks! Super friendly and the techs there were very knowledgeable without making you feel stupid.
Brought my pc in with major problems and they had all the parts in stock to fix it also they gave me insight on how and why my pc had broke. Also got everything running and together in less than a day. A+ job guys! Will definitely be coming back
I encouraged my boyfriend to go to Cyber Works when his computer he built started to malfunction. He went in, gave the staff all the specifics and they got him set up in less than 30 minutes. They are so knowledgeable and can relate to someone who doesn't know much about computers to a super user/gamer like my boyfriend. Over the years they have helped me clean up my computers, so I knew he would be able to rebuild his system with reliable components and not break the budget as well. These guys rock! They can handle any computer issues from just getting your hard drive cleaned up to building an exact system to meet your specific needs. You won't regret going to Cyber Works and, no, I am not a family member. Just a computer user who appreciates a business of this caliber.
Overall I've had good experience with Cyber Works, but most recently I'm disappointed. My external hard drive is near death, and Kyle told me they could determine whether data is able to be recovered. Being naiive about what questions to ask etc. I assumed they are knowledgeable in this area. After reading online and finding what questions to ask etc. I realized I had to backtrack. A few calls and emails later, namely to two of the top 3 orgs nationwide who handle data recovery, I realized where I need to send my drive. I really wish they had educated me up front about the risks etc. of data recovery methods, what options are available, and what the limited scope of their abilities truly is. I realize that no one can recover the data if it's gone. My concern was more that they were testing the drive while plugged into power, which experts in data recovery know can cause irreparable damage and permanently lose data. I am willing to pay 8x their estimate so I can recover 17 years of business files and my family pictures. I think it is more ignorance vs. them knowlingly attempting work best left to others more highly skilled. If I'm not knowledgeable in an area, I tell my clients. I've also done business with many individuals so passionate about their field they will educate you without you asking what you need to know to make informed decisions. That is how you know you're working with an authority.
I was relieved that Joe, not prompted by me in any way, offered a 50% discount on the diagnostic fee since they hadn't done much work (as he put it). They did not have to do this especially since when I asked about the online special for $30 off diagnostic fees I was told it only applies to the PC tower itself.
I am giving 3 stars as I've bought two enclosures for my laptop hard drives from Cyber Works when the machine died. Their turn around time was quick, fees were reasonable, and the guys are friendly and helpful. I've also had fingerprinting done at both locations several times over the past decade for my employer and they are adept at grabbing prints, which not all digital fingerprint techs can claim.
Cyberworks custom-builds PCs with the highest quality parts and stands behind their work with 5-year warranty. Because the machines are built in-house, the technicians are able to easily remedy any problem. It is peace of mind knowing my files will not go up in smoke.
If you want to overpay for service as well as products they're fine. Anything they don't already have in-store they buy on amazon and charge you double.
But if you aren't smart enough to google and youtube your way through your problems like they are just going to do, I guess you're not smart enough to realize how much you're getting ripped off.
Went in looking for something particular, a specific processor. Was happy as they had it in stock. But on top of 2X the cost os online (I was ok with more but not twice as expensive), and I m not going to touch the service.
Once they figured everything out, the service was alright! If you want to hear from them you need to nag them. Here's the story: My computer wouldn't start up, and so I handed it over to them on the 19th of December, a Saturday. Well, I was told I would be given a call that Tuesday the 22nd, to let me know how the hardrive test was. Tuesday went by with no call, so I called at 5:55pm that day knowing they closed at 6pm. They said the technician would call me Wednesday. No call Wednesday morning. I call them again Wednesday at 4pm. really nice guy explains my computer stuff and the next step. I don't hear from them until after Christmas, which is understandable. However, they failed to inform me that they close an hour early on New Year's Eve so I arrived 20 minutes late to pick up my computer which was done that day. I had to wait till Saturday, January second, to get my computer. About 2 weeks after I dropped it off. I get that these things take time, but the lack of communication made this whole process quite frustrating. Plus, the guy who checked in my computer gave me crap about owning a Mac... Telling me pcs are so much easier to work on. I'm paying you boy, just fix my computer dammit. My advice to you, don't give them your computer when it's close to a major holiday and hope the technicians aren't on vacation. Their service was pretty good when they finally got around to it.
I firmly believe they screw my laptop up just to be able to charge me more and to sell me their programs, It worked ok but really slow, I never had it optimized after buying it, Took it in for a tune up, supposed to cost $80, They called and told me they were having a problem booting it up, then called to tell me they had to reload windows, Now the bill was $149. got it home and loaded my antivirus that they recommend. All of a sudden, it wouldn't boot, getting all kinds of pop ups and lots of problems. took it back and they told me it had all kinds of malware and now want to charge me for there program for another $100, Just found out that Windows defender has been shut off and my computer won't even let me turn it on. Checked and found out that window defender comes turned on when you load windows. So someone shut it off and it wasn't me. I will never go back to that place again. I think they do things to keep you coming back and to charge you more money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RYZEN!! I love that when you walk in you are greeted. Someone takes interest in what you are going to use your machine for and get you what you want at a price point that won't break your bank. I walked in thinking I knew what I wanted and walked out with something much better. Took about a week for them to build a custom gaming rig and it is AMAZING! This is the second gaming computer I have had them build for me. You can't beat the service provided and a 5 year warranty on a computer is unheard of! I don't go anywhere else and I am always confident that my machine is way better than I could have bought at any other store. Thanks guys and keep up the great work!
Stopped in on a Friday to get a quote on a new laptop. Dropped off a note of what I was looking for along with my business card. Told I would get an estimate on Monday. On Thursday the "estimate" finally arrived. When I looked at it I was surprised that there was only one option when I stated in the note several different options I was looking at and that I was flexible on a couple of them. The "estimate" (that is a scary word) also did not include the microsoft software I asked for. I emailed back asking about that and was told to got to the website to purchase it. In the past they would help with loading software, email, etc. Apparently that is not the case anymore. On top of this I found another laptop with the same setup but a 2 generation newer processor for $470.00 less. Why would I purchase from here if I don't get any support or help anymore. Used to be a loyal customer and have sent many other people there over the years. That will not be happening anymore. You can get better help at Best Buy now - and that is really, really sad.
Good, timely, friendly service. They are knowledgeable and took good care of my machine. They explained things fully, and I was happy to discover their in - store parts are far cheaper than I could find anywhere online. Like, hundreds cheaper! I just wish they would call me regularly to update me on progress like my car mechanic does.
