Great location, clean and staff was pleasant. My issue is they hold $50 per day on your credit card. When I checked out it took a few days for the hold to fall of my account. They tied up $150 of my money for way too long. When people are on vacation this is an inconvenience.

Really good location! Right next to Burbon street. We asked one of the workers for good places to eat, and he knew where to send us! Friendly service. But, on our second night, we found a mouse in our room, as well as some droppings... They moved us to another room, but that was all they did. Our stay wasn't quite the same after that. Could use an update.

The room was very nice, but not worth the awful customer service. Everyone we dealt with was rude except for the valets. Dealing with the employees was not worth it. I don't know why the ratings are so high. I won't stay there again.

TV didn't work initially and had to deal with that. Then the shower was mislabeled so I couldn't take a warm shower my first night since it took a pretty significant amount of time for the warm water to come through

Centrally located between CBD and French Quarter, the St Charles trolley runs in front of the hotel. On the corner of Bourbon Street so it does get a bit louder but as expected. Rooms have been recently refreshed and has a clean, modern aesthetic. This is a larger hotel so there are many rooms to choose from if you aren't satisfied. Staff were quick to supply a crib and refrigerator upon request. Free Wifi.

The elevator is a load and noisy. You heard it the whole time we in our room. I needed more towels, so I asked a maid that was near our room to bring us more towels when she was going to clean our room.
We were gone all day, when I opened the door to our room, it was never touched, no beds made, no coffee, no cups, and no trash cans empty.
For the price you would think that we could have better service.

Horrible experience with this hotel. Got there well past check in and our room was not ready we waited almost 2 hours and it was still not ready, by this time it's after 6:00. Several others were waiting in the lobby as well. We noticed people of a certain race were coming in behind us and getting rooms. (This was during the Essence Festival) The ones waiting were the same as us. I'm not a racist it was just that obvious. We just booked a standard double room and a month in advance! This was our first family vacation in years and after sweating all day at the zoo in 91 degree heat we were all exhausted. Finally my husband requested a refund from the manger and we ended up driving the 3 hours back home that night. This was my first trip to New Orleans and I was looking forward to visiting the sites in the French Quarter. My daughter was devastated it was her birthday and she looked forward to staying at the hotel more than anything. I will definitely not be staying at this hotel! We still have not received a refund for our room and according to some of the other reviews it looks like we will just have to end up disputing the charges with our bank.

Absolutely horrible and disappointing..
The Hotel lobby is beautiful, wouldn't know beyond that. We booked our room and payed ($250) for 1 night, 4 weeks in advance. We arrived at 5 pm 1 hr after check-in time, couldn't get my vehicle near the hotel without blocking an entire lane on Canal st., after a couple times around the block we did just that...Valet had us grab our own luggage as quick as we could, and whisked my truck away to an unknown location. We then waited 30 minutes in line to check in, we finally check in and pay the refundable damage deposit, and I'm told that our room wont be ready for 30 minutes due to " a housekeeping" issue. So we ( me, my wife, and our 3 children) haul our luggage over to the lobby and sit, and sit, and sit.....An hour goes by....I return to the counter to check the status of our room. This time I'm speaking to the hotel manager, he says it's still not ready and offers us a room in a "sister property " 6 blocks away. I decline because we have a good amount of stuff to carry and now have no vehicle unless we wait an hour for valet to bring it back. He says he will put a rush on housekeeping......tick tock tick tock....another 30 minutes go by, my daughter who's 6th birthday is now ruined is crying and has become very anxious and irritated. I return to the desk and speak with the manager again and he says the room is not ready, I demand a full refund and cancel the room, he obliges...but can't get my truck back for an hour and tells me valet will walk us to our vehicle several blocks away. So here's the 5 of us trying to keep up with this guy rushing through downtown New Orleans carrying our luggage ( he did carry 2 bags for us), Finally we get to the parking garage and get our truck back. This was a very disappointing and inconvenient experience for us and we will never recommend or visit this Hotel again!!!!!! 0 stars

The hotel was great wonderful location easy to walk to everything. The only complaint I had was the parking service. They lost our truck and left us standing there for 45 minutes before telling us. Then we had to wait another 45 minutes for them to bring it to the door.

Awesome water pressure and super hot water. Was really congested because of construction that's going on. Sadly had some homeless people who slept outside off and on during the day. Lots of weed smoking, so you can just inhale and be on your way.

It seems like this hotel was recently renovated. The hotel is situated at one of the most sought after locations in the French Quarter of New Orleans, right on the corner of Bourbon Street & Canal Street and convenient to everything throughout the Quarter. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are fairly large, furnished very nicely, the beds are comfortable, and even the pillows (my big gripe in a lot of hotels), are reasonably comfortable (although I still wish I had my down pillows with me). The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We called for extra towels and they were there quickly, same with other requests we had and even when we had to spend an additional night because our flight was cancelled, they were able to get us a room at the same rate we came in at (we were there on a convention rate initially). While I prefer other hotel chains usually, this was a good choice for us for the week that we were there.

This is a great place to stay, which is very central to everything around the city.

We pretty much walked everywhere from the hotel and were able to take the trams to Lafayette Cemetery and down St Charles Drive.

Nice walk to the Bourbon Street and all good restaurants.

A few things that the hotel can improve on, is start treating their loyal customer better. I am a platinum member but the level of service I received was very average. To be honest it was below expectations.

The quality of rooms is good and especially the high ceilings are a great selling point.

Great location! Staff is fairly helpless though. The shower pipes vibrated and sounded like double bass drumming which disturbed a few neighbors. Other than that, the bathrooms have no vents, so mold is certainly there. Nice views but I have stayed at better places nearby for sure.

I stayed at the Astor Crowne Plaza for six days and I am only giving this hotel 2 stars and not 1 because of it's convenient location. My family booked this hotel through a local travel agent and we were extremely excited to be in walking distance to so many of New Orleans popular tourist sites. When we booked in the young white man was very curt and cold. Unfortunately we were given an very small room (#2229) on the "old" side of the building. Our veiw literally consisted of a wall and a window looking directly into the hotel room across from us which was about 6 feet away, so I never fully opened the curtains.
Next I wasn't sure what bar was located so close to our vicinity that we could hear a constant loud bass line at least 22 hours a day that even vibrated the window but I'm sure I could write a hip-hop bass line in my sleep. To touch on the noise a bit more, everytime someone even walked or talked down the hall from us we could hear it, not to mention if anyone got close to our door so I got to hear entire drunk conversations as clear as a bell. Just so we are clear, the walls and doors are paper thin.
Our second night there our toilet clogged (they have very low flow toilets) and it took almost an hour to for them to send someone to unclog it. I have a feeling that it would have been much longer if I hadn't called housekeeping ever 15 minutes to ask when someone was going to come up.
Lastly I want to add the the room is very dated, TV is old, and there are barely any amenities. Hopefully they will consider updating their rooms, adding more/better insulation, and paying their staff higher wages. This hotel has such great potential with proper management and some quality updates.

First of all, when going to New Orleans, be prepared to pay a premium for parking. And if you drive a larger vehicle (pickup, SUV, etc) you'll pay even more for an "oversize charge". And yes, you'll need to use the valet. That said... The More

Ants in the bathroom, loud ac, ac was never on when coming back to the room so it was hot whenever you came back, had to fight for late check out and only for an extra hour, bed is hard and uncomfortable - not just supportive actually hard, elevators were rickety feeling, pool was TINY, system was crashing when I tried to check in, took 30 minutes to deliver bottles of water from room service (at $3 a pop), put me in the wrong kind of room than what I paid (tried to downgrade me)... I mean why would you stay here ever? I won't again.

Hotel was in a prime location in regards to Bourbon Street. My only issue is the pricing. I went with a group and rates were extremely different depending on call vs on line vs walkup the day of. Walking up the day of turned out to be cheaper than those who booked months in advance with a deposit

Best location and price as it is just next to the Bourbon street. Tram station, pharmacies, gift shops, restaurants are all within walking distant. The room is spacey and clean, and comes with two safes. It is so comfortable that I almost feel like staying in the room watching TV the whole day. Service is good and almost every house keepers that I met are polite and friendly. The only thing that I can nitpick is the check-in process is abit too slow, which is cause by the amount of guests during Memorial day long weekend.

After reading some of these reviews we were nervous to keep our reservation. But after not being able to get in at our usual hotel we decided to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised the moment we arrived. We had a carload of college aged kids and the valet and bellman as well as check-in staff could not have been more helpful and sweet. The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas, our room was fresh and clean as were the halls etc. Our bed was comfortable and our linens and bathrooms were spotless. We left and returned several times and never had a problem with a terrible wait. It s on Canal, so a little congestion is to be expected. This hotel is in a fabulous spot for shopping on Royal and partying on Bourbon. We honestly can t say enough good things about it, and we are seasoned visitors to the city. So for those of you who are skimming these reviews, give it a try. We did and were very happy.

Was at the Crowne Plaza for a 3-day conference but I did not spend any nights there. With that being said, I do listen to others in the lobby or elevators. Not one-time during the 3-days did I hear a negative word about the hotel or staff. As for the banquet staff and food service, one word - amazing!

Nice lobby and staff & great location .Pretty ordinary rooms, for the price I expected a little more. The room had a weird smell when we entered. There was no fridge or microwave. The bathroom did not have a fan, so it was a little stuffy. Overall it was okay but I'll probably stay somewhere else next time to get the quality that matches the $.

First the positives. The hotel is in a great location and I thought it was very beautiful. The restaurant looked great but unfortunately closed for the season the 2nd day of our stay so we didn't try it out. All the little flaws of the hotel could have been overlooked if it wasn't for a MOUSE in our room. We called the front desk after spotting it run behind our mini fridge and a half hour later, after my husband and I had been standing on furniture disgusted and generally freaked out we ran out of the room without our luggage. We were in the room so long waiting on the staff we decided to record the mouse run around on our phones. I don't know what was most upsetting, no one from the front desk caring enough to come check on us, or being promised a refund and then after checking out being denied said refund. We did receive a breakfast on the house which my husband enjoyed. I didn't partake, I mean really, who wants to eat in a rodent filled hotel??!!

This place is said to be a 4 Star but it s definitely more of a 3 Star. Room smelt of mildew or sour carpets and we were astonished to see the bathtub had no shower curtain. Mentioned both to management and they had an employee leave the shower curtain on our bed to hang ourselves. Staff seemed a little lazy but the location is great, right off Bourbon. You d be a lot better off staying somewhere else, unless you d prefer to be underwhelmed.

I stayed at this hotel for a girls trip with my friends and the best thing about this hotel is its location. Staff was friendly, room was nice and big, good air conditioning. The bed was a little bit hard but wasn't uncomfortable. The decoration in the lobby was really nice, we did a photo shoot down there just because it was pretty. I recommend this hotel if you're staying a few days and you're looking to walk around in Bourbon st.

Didn't get suite we confirmed, the front desk acted like I was a "problem" because I said "6 people cant fit in a double standard room, we reserved the biggest suite you had" she rolled her eyes and the Manager seemed helpful, offered a meal for free and they charged us $300 for it!!!!
THEN the refrigerator we ordered had mold COVERING it with week old food everywhere.
I've called, emailed, send facebook messages, everything.... they wont respond. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!

I stayed at this hotel from the 5-9th of July, booked and confirmed prior to my arrival the reservation was incorrect. They did get me in a room with a rusted rotted out sink faucet and bath tub I was there for 5 days and only had wash clothes for 2 days. Room service and laundry services were extremely rude. The hall ways were cluttered with room service trays for 2-3 days at a time. Very unpleasant stay

The hotel staff were friendly upon arrival, however I had to call twice to get my room serviced since housekeeping did not service room while I was out. The first time I was told they weren't open and couldn't service room but fresh towels and washcloths could be sent up. After waiting an hour, towels were sent up but only one washcloth (my room had 3 people). The location of hotel was convenient due to bourbon street being on the corner. I did not like the extra loud beeps on the elevator once it got to each floor but overall this hotel was ok.

Certainly didn't feel like a 4-star hotel but the location was perfect with direct access to Canal and Bourbon streets. The room was quiet and comfortable, and the people on site were polite. The call center was very difficult to hear when making the reservation and again when attempting to check out. Overall, had a nice experience and would consider staying here again based on the affordable price and definitely the location.

Stayed Feb 12, 2016 for one night. Check in was fast and convenient. Checked into room and the air did not work. It was running, but not doing the job. The room was overheating and the thermometer was set to 68. Called to the front desk and was told someone would be there to look into this. I had to leave, so I assumed it would be taken care of. When I returned it was still the same. So, I just slept on top of the sheet. Secondly, the beds are super hard and the mattress was very uncomfortable. I think they went the very cheap route on this. Thirdly, at 2 am you can hear someone knocking on doors and making all kinds of noise. This was the most disturbing because it was loud and lasted quite a while. I know it is very close to Bourbon Street, but common man, use some common sense. I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family.

Great location but horrible parking arrangements. You have to wait in the street for valet to get to you, unload in the street, & leave your car parked in the street for them to go park it wherever they park it. It would be better if the rooms came with a microwave, a fridge, & clean curtains. It could have been the room we were in. I'm not sure. Other than that the hotel is great. Their soap, shampoo & conditioner in the shower smells great. Limited views but the buildings look great at night with the different lights. There's public transportation outside the hotel to the zoo & other destinations. There are a ton of shops and eateries in walking distance. There's an adult only theatre a few blocks away that serves great food & alcohol.
