The perfect hotel tucked away in the corner at the beginning of what will either be an interesting sight - seeing tour down Bourbon street, or a "that was the last thing I remember". Jokes aside, If you are interested in seeing New Orleans, this is the perfect "base camp" for your operation. Walking distance from the aquarium (one of the best I've been to), the Riverwalk mall, Herrah's casino, tour companies, the St. Charles street car (a must do), Starbucks (just across the street) CVS and, of course, Bourbon Street (around the corner).

Nice hotel, great location, but their air conditioning was stupid! It's on a motion sensor, so you have to stand up in the middle of the night to keep your air on. Plus after being out in the heat all day, we had to come back to a warm room. I do recommend adding the breakfast to your reservation. We went every morning, but ended up paying more since we didn't advance order.

I stayed there from 10/14/2019 - 10/18/2019 in room 411. I came home with bedbugs. I have called the hotel manager three times and left voicemails but have yet to receive a response. I'm appalled that they choose to ignore an issue like this. I will be writing the corporative headquarters next. I've had my home exterminated and have spent hours doing laundry, not to mention the expense of the exterminator. Their refusal to address this complaint is outrageous! Be warned, stay away!

I don't know if it's because of their location that they feel that customer service is not important. Great bellmen and friendly security. The front desk staff I guess are too busy to answer the phone. Housekeeping seems nonexistent even after talking to a "supervisor ". For a room with a king size bed for 2 there were 3 flimsy pillows no pillowcases and 1 large towel. I called 2xs yesterday for additional pillows. I got them this morning when I requested additional towels so that my husband and I could both take a shower. It's after 4pm and my room has been attended to even though I requested it. I am so disappointed in a place called Crowne Plaza. Also this is the first time I've been in a hotel that lotion is only given upon request. I'm all for not wasting...so so be it!

DO NOT STAY HERE.. I had just noticed a $50.00 per day fee was added to my credit card after a stay. When I spoke with accounting dept to let them know I didn't use their hotel parking a parked behind at public garage i was told i needed to fax them proof. When i said sure i will be glad to.. I parked at Acme ( came up premium parking 124 New Orleans in my statement) she said we own that too. 3rd party contracted !!!! Ughhhh and their fax machine is never working. I'm on the phone daily with these people and THEY DON'T CARE! if they screw everyone this way they make a lot of extra money!! DO NOT STAY THERE. also the end of 2016 until Feb 2017 they had security hack of front desk and CC info was sacked..or stolen. Hate that those people are probably have as much trouble as I am!!!

Astor Crowne Plaza was fantastic! We loved our stay, it was clean, beautiful, and friendly. It was also located at the edge of the French Quarter which was perfect for parking our car and walking everywhere.

I'm a rewards guy and paid cash and I got a room that was huge but no where to put your bags except the floor and a brick wall directly in front of the window. Listened to people in the next room fight all night. Someone dropped their drink in the elevator and it was still a mess the next morning. Great location but find somewhere that has better prices and better staff. This is the second time I've stye a the Holiday Inn Jewel and the Express is much better and so is the Clarian and the Hilton.

We were in New Orleans for a college visit and stayed at this hotel rather than the Hyatt Regency because of the proximity to great places to eat. The valet and baggage attendant staff were all very courteous and kind. The valets, baggage attendants and the location are why they get 2 stars. The staff at front desk were disinterested to say the least - and rude at worst. There was no effort to smile or welcome us at all. Lots of eye rolling and sighs. This was at the IHC Club check in section. That, my friends, was just the beginning! Saturday morning at 3a the fire alarm went off and we all evacuated. There were no clear instructions communicated via the staff once outside. We were outside with other guests for 10 minutes and no one came outside to say we can go back in. No fire trucks showed up, no police cars. Nothing. It was a chilly morning so some of the guests started filing back inside and at that point a few came out and said we can go up - it was a false alarm. Lots of uncertainty and confused looks, people slowly went in the lobby and the security guard I guess? Says - it was a false alarm - some joker sprayed the fire extinguisher in the hallway. Again - no announcements or communication from management at all. Everyone was told to go back to their rooms via other guests. Then the alarms kept going off all morning. From 3a - 8:30a. Wreaking havoc on our kids and causing panic every time. NO messages from manager/staff - just what sounded like a recording saying disregard - false alarm. No one slept a wink. When the sun came up there were no apologies - no courtesy coffee or an courtesy communication at all about the repeated incidents. No demonstrated concern whatsoever. That made it the worst place I ve ever stayed. Absolutely no concern for your guests. And the restaurant was the exact same for service. We won t return. They haven t grasped the hospitality part of the industry.

First of went check in computers was down, then it was all downhill from there. We finally got a key, but it wasn t a regular key, they said they would deliver the other keys later never happen! Then Saturday we went down there to get real key they gave us 2 they didn t work, went back we got 2 more didn t work we where on 12th floor, finally got 2 that worked!! Then elevator was was working right!!

Beware: $50 undisclosed parking fee! Whatever you are quoted for your stay, add $50 for parking, which, on top of the price, is extremely disorganized and takes forever.
Aside from that, the accommodations are, at best, at a 3 star category. Definitely not a 4 star as they advertise. The staff is friendly, though poorly trained. By the time you pay the high parking fee, you are at the same price of other, nicer hotels. I recommend you stay somewhere else if you have the choice.

Nice, older hotel, right on the edge of the French Quarter. Great place to stay if you want to walk Bourbon St. and the Quarter. It's an older building with modern renovations and a very nice staff. I took off one star because of little details lacking, such as the plug-in outlets in the room being so worn out that it was difficult to charge our phones.

Well, I'm in a bowling alley (type of suite) king suit. Spacious, clean, comfortable beds and two big flat screens with all the channels. The front desk service speed moves into dangerous territory, it's along a borderline 2 star hotel, very disappointing. Other than the front desk incompetence, I would stay here again.

The hotel was nice. The only drawbacks were that I couldn't get the wifi to work on my phone (the browser window was too big for my phone's screen, and part of it was cut off), and I had to phone to ask for a copy of my invoice to be emailed to me.

Great spot for a conference. I can't vouch for the room, but the staff seemed professional and the conference facilities were great. They catered a couple of the meals and my stomach was pleasantly surprised though the bananas fosters wasn't quite authentic. Everything else was great.

No hot water yesterday. I was told it would be fixed within an hour. No hot water today either. Management says they re fixing it again but there are reviews complaining about hot water going back to early January (it s February now), so it seems as if this is an ongoing issue and the management is just telling people it will be fixed. Complained and hotel is refusing to do anything. If I had been told there would be no hot water I would have gladly booked elsewhere. I will think twice before staying anywhere owned by Crowne Plaza in the future.

A low quality hotel for a high price. Shower rail and towel rail falling off wall. Air conditioning plate falling off the wall. Tatty towels. Coffee maker didn't work. Paper thin walls - could hear everything in the next room. Wifi sketchy. No shampoo until the 3rd day of our 4 day stay. Lobby and bar areas upscale and pleasant and the location was perfect for our visit to French Quarter Fest but would pay more for a better hotel on future visits.

The location is beautiful in the heart of the French Quarter right near Bourbon Street. There are great restaurants within blocks which makes it really easy to eat whenever you want. The rooms are decent other than the lack of a mini fridge and microwave and the bathrooms do not have good ventilation so it gets really stuffy. The AC doesn't work phenomenally in the rooms so it can get quite hot and humid, but otherwise the rooms are nice.

My first room had a really bad smell. I was moved into a new room and I still don't like this hotel. No microwave. Not to mention I woke up feeling sick from the smell I will never stay here again. The hotel pictures look nothing like this hotel in person.

If you are IHG loyal, this is the best option in the Quarter. Clean, comfortable, and close to just about anything you may want to do. The Bourbon House is a great dining option and is merely a walk through the lobby away. The fitness center has many different options. The pool is pretty small. But it doesn't detract in anyway from the overall experience. The pool deck is great to just sit out and hear the sounds of the Quarter and relax even if you never get in the pool. A heads up the rates are reasonable but the parking is pretty expensive(50 a night). You should always call down for your car about 15 minutes before you head down. But it was a great experience. We will be back soon!

They had the best free breakfast I've ever had! Tasty grits with andouille sausage, meat and cheese platter and tasty breakfast potatoes. Our room was very nice. There wasn't any tp when we arrived. A simple phone call brought that tp right up along with the extra blankets and pillows requested. The valet guys outside are always very nice and gave me and my friends tips and pointers about going out on the town. I had a very pleasant stay.

How does pre-check in work?? They told me as soon as room available will call me and again they ask my phone # to contact with one available
Apparently you have to wait until actual checked in time.... they didn't got my phone # down when I give it to them. I have to wait until actual check in time.
Very disappointing and the mgr didn't even apologize and all he said it was a human error ... I waited all day..check every hour if room is ready and this is what I got.. very rude and apparently employees on front desk including the mgr doesn't give a s**t..
I guess this is how new Orleans treat you.

Very nice hotel, nice rooms, some of the staff is nice and engaging. Love the pool area as well as the fitness and business center. There's a MAC salon on site. The lobby is beautiful. This is a very well kept hotel. I would definitely recommend it.

We stayed here and the room was beautiful, the view was nice it had a wonderfull rooftop pool and the gym was more adequate than most hotels. However the staff was unprofessional, rude and pretentious. When you ask for someone on the phone they hang up, or say I can't help you with that. And a man was reading bible verses on the street with a huge speaker; which I would be all for, if it didn't disturb us 5 floors up. A nice facility, but I would not stay there again. I would not recommend it to anyone. And I would not pay that price for it, if I could do it again I would stay somewhere else. The holiday Inn would have been more preferable.

Great location (right next to Bourbon St.)!
The room was clean and confortable, outlets next to bed and big new smart tv on the wall.
The only issue is that the check in starts at 4pm and the check out is at 11am... you pay a full day and get almost 3/4 of it (although they were "nice" to let us check in at 2pm).

Very nice clean hotel. There is a $50 deposit per room that wasn t mentioned until check in. But you can pay it in cash and it is returned at check out. Stayed here for my wedding and it was great !

This hotel is in a great location however there were some downfalls.
1. They ran out of hot water so I had to take multiple cold showers.
2. They gave wristbands out for every guest in the room.
3. The valet parking is actually an off site lot you are shuttled to. You could self park at for $30 which is significantly less money than what the hotel charges.
4. Lastly the front desk is not very efficient so I suggest packing patience.

There is a mice in my room I called down to front desk a hour ago no one has come yet and I'm hungry and scared to get out of bed.and paid for room through a third party and they could not find reservation after talking to them twice about reservation. This has been a trip from H_LL..NEVER SGAIN

I paid upfront in good faith and got insurance protection and unfortunately on my end circumstances have changed. I gave them and Expedia 5 months notice. And would not refund my money. Don t tell me they will not re-book it. This is a terrible way to treat the consumer and to take the consumers hard working money. Do not make the mistake I did. I will never do business with either party again. Terrible way to treat the consumer.

The Astor Hotel New Orleans . I would not recommend to anyone the hotel is dirty. I had to call every day for them to come and clean the room. My card to open the door to my room was not working . I went to the front desk and the front desk staff asked me for a ID, my wallet was in the room i informed the staff. He told me that he needed to call security to go with to the room to get my ID when I informed him that my husband would stay at the front desk and I would get my ID. Two days later the key did not work again , when I went to the front desk they informed my that my stay was only until the 3rd of May. I informed the front desk staff that I was leaving on the 4th not the 3rd. He asked me for almost 400$ for that one night. I could not believe that I had to pay that amount, when I informed him that I had already payed. I would never stay in that hotel again.

Right in the heart of everything!! They have a Concierge however we asked the Front Desk and Bellman suggestions and they were right on it! Upon departure Uber went from $37 to $58 due to High Demand. The awesome Bellman got us a Taxi within seconds and said it will only be $36. We'll be back this summer for another Girls Trip. Also the Bellman takes great pictures thanks for being our photographer. We didn't eat at the hotel but the prices were very reasonable. Housekeeping was also Really Good

Not your typical IHG no one ever got an answer for anything you ask question nobody knows. Seems like nobody really cared AC did not work well felt humid and warm the whole time I was there tried to over bill me for my second night had to call twice to get it straightened out I stay with these people a lot not their typical service-level they definitely need some work

Had to cancel because my friend can't make it and my cousin is a student and we got fined over 300 dollars. Fee is high and my trip was still 50 days away so why such a high fee? Priceline sucks they could have gotten another customer now I will not recommend this hotel or Priceline to anyone else

I really really enjoyed my stay. I am from New Orleans and I currently reside in Houston, I came down for my Wedding and I had the best experience with the staff there. From the moment I checked in with the Front Desk clerks Ireion Clark, & Monique Mitchel. From the Bellman Kristen to the Security Tyrone. They made my stressful Wedding very very pleasant. I know I worked he housekeeping Director Terrence to death but he made sure my stay was very comfortable as well. When I come home to visit I will definitely stay here every time. I would definitely recommend ths hotel to anyoe. The STAFF IS THE BEST. I was happy to visit and feel like I am home. I definitely know great customer service being a former front desk clerk for several hotels in the downtown area. They really made me feel like a tourist in my own town.

I stayed here for a week for Distributech (I work for the government and looking for vendors for a contract). First of all, they do not have microwaves in the room and I tried to ask the front desk to heat up my food. They flat out refused. They lack the basic amenities that standard hotels provide. I will make it out of my way to ensure that my agency will never book here again.

Older but we'll kept hotel right at the corner of Canal and Bourbon st. Limited view of Bourbon street but also limited noise. Only parking is valet for $40 but considering where it is it is fair.

Wonderful experience from the Front Desk, the Food Service Staff, the Maintenance Staff, the Housekeeping Staff . . . I could not have asked for a better experience. I was there Monday - Thursday in a conference and was impressed with the friendly, courteous, and caring manner the staff treated me and those who were with me. I will return to the Crowne Plaza for a personal stay because of my experience.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!! We booked and confirmed the biggest suite they had (over the phone twice & as we checked in) to be given the smallest double queen they have.
Then they offered to give us breakfast and charged us for it any way. ($300) I've called twice, no response.
I waited a month before posting this hopefully this gets a response or I will have all 6 people staying with us review their awful experience too.

Instant regret once I pulled up. Sat in my car for 15 on canal st (which is crazy busy) waiting for a chance to park at the curb. Very chaotic trying to check in , get help with luggage and park. Valet was $53 so had to drive some ways to get affordable parking. Walls are very thin. Taking extra sleeping pills and hoping for the best. Rooms were clean but no fridge.

There were several disappointments with our stay their but the biggest one was after check out. We checked out and went to the airport. Before getting on the plan I opened my bag to get a flannel shirt out (might be cold on the plan) and realized I had left it, and some other clothes, hanging in the closet when we checked out. I immediately called the hotel, this was shortly after we checked out and 4+ hours before check in for the day. 20 phone calls and 10 emails latter and they still maintain an aww shucks we don t know anything about it attitude. It s obvious to me that somebody that works for the hotel stole a couple hundred dollars my clothes. They also try to charge us a couple hundred dollars for valet parking when we didn t have a car and I can t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that didn t have a mini fridge. Did I mention the lack of access to coffee . . . Just bad.

I found the hotel clean and comfortable. Service could be "southern" slow at times, but they got it done. Very conveniently located at Canal and Bourbon streets. Not sure why all the negative reviews as that was not my experience.

A beautiful, historic hotel right in the heart of the French Quarter. The friendly staff will make your stay a delight.
UPDATE: Unless you get stuck in their historic elevators for 30 minutes, then there is apparently nothing they can do for you.

I guess old is the new charm, but not for me.

I guess old is the new charm, but not for me.
When we immediately got into our room, it was dark, because the curtains were drawn shut and the light switch didn t work.
We had to fumble our way to find a light.
There was a smell, but I couldn t detect what it was. We got used to it.
Our view was pretty good even though our windows were very dirty and had black mold. But then again, we were on the third floor and it does rain a lot off and on in Nola. We let that slide.
Our room was very spacious, because we had a suite. And clean.
But very VERY noisy! Because of the location, they accommodated earplugs to help sleep at night. That was nice, but they didn t work for me.
We found the staff very friendly and efficient.
We had to call maintenance twice.
(1st for electrical and 2nd for plumbing - big issues in older buildings)

I think the thing that bugged me the most was they didn t have a refrigerator!
Yeah, Yeah, I know, you re probably thinking really?? But hear me out...!
It s hot, I like cold stuff to stay cold and I want my leftovers not to spoil, especially if I m gonna be here for a couple of days. Maybe it s because they can t handle that extra electricity with their electrical issues.
BUT WE HAD THE SUITE!
(You d think there d be some exceptions?!!)

Anyway, I m glad I had the experience, but I won t go back.
