I read the reviews and I was worried that I made a mistake by booking before I read them. We got the king suite through Groupon and it was a great deal. I was worried about what we would find after reading all the negative reviews.
The staff is great. Very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious(it's a suite). We never encountered any bad odors. Everything smelled clean. Excellent location.
The valet is mandatory and expensive. I'm sure every nice hotel is.
About the comments on the long wait time for the return valet: It's a very very busy street. It's going to take a while of course. They give you a number to call or text to get your vehicle and tell you what time frame to give them for your car. It's hard to really have a valid complaint after you see what they go through with the traffic; and still be courteous. I recommend this place.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Crowne Plaza in New Orleans at the French Quarter. It was centrally located downtown and we could walk to everything. We enjoyed doing a walking tour of the city. The staff at the Crowne Plaza were great from the valet and bellhop staff to the front desk and cleaning staff. Everyone was courteous and helpful. We were early for check in so the front desk texted us when our room was ready. We had literally walked three blocks up the street when we received the text that we could check in early. Our luggage had been stored at the bellhop station while waiting for our room to get ready. Everything was very convenient.

The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are nice. Very clean and has that old New Orleans charm, but still modern. Staff are amazing and go out of their way to be helpful. Definitely will be staying here again.

Tiny rooms, hotel looks in disarray, never have I stayed in a "nice" hotel that I could compare to a Motel 6 or Red Roof in. Should have booked else where. Even lower scale hotels have free breakfast, not paying an extra $12 to get a contenetail breakfast. Ceiling falling apart and housekeeping rooms should stay closed! Not going to stay here again. Next time I am paying the $200+ for a hotel who is clean.

I've stayed here several times over the years. Location is great and often has very competitive rates, especially considering location. Staff is always friendly. My only real negative for me is if you are staying in the tower closer to Canal, the fitness center is in the other tower.

Found a great deal on Living Social and booked 3 days. There were some issues like hall light/phone/ safe not working and they were immediate in addressing these issues. After that, we enjoyed the stay and area so much we booked an additional night. Beds are comfy, good pillows, nice lobby with a great restaurant and bar! Try the Frozen Bourbon Milk Punch in the restaurant (Bourbon House) downstairs!! I would definitely return to this hotel!

The hotel is nice and has been renovated within the last 2 years. The location is awesome since it is in the FQ. I would have given it 5 stars but parking is expensive. $42 thru the hotel but $32 thru parking panda.

Cleaniness is not at the top of their priority list. Our sheets and towels were stained and we had to request changing both out twice. There was also a strange odor throughout the hotel. We had 3 rooms in our group and the other couples had similar issues.

The staff was friendly enough. George was great!
The thermostat didn't work in our room. Overall, it was an "ok" stay, but i doubt we will return to this location.

Our flight was delayed and they were very accommodating when we called to change our check-in time. When we first got there, they gave us the wrong key, but quickly fixed the issue and offered compensation for the mix up. The rooms are nice enough. Love the high ceilings. Location is perfect for visiting the French Quarter on a budget.

Perfect place to stay if you want to experience bourbon st. Its not on burbon st., but it's at the beginning of the party. A kind of a one foot in, one foot out situation. Me and my family loved our experience.

Tick on my pillow, stains in the carpet in my first room AND second room, paid for a refrigerator. Bad experience all the way around. And somehow I cannot upload photos that I took of the room.

Location is amazing. Room keys annoyingly deprogrammed at an alarming rate, for a 3 night stay I needed 4 new room keys. Otherwise this hotel offers what you would expect from the price.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Nice and clean rooms.
Beware of the parking fee. I paid 49.00 for Valet parking, so my truck would be close by and easy to get when needed. The morning of check out i went to have my truck brought around, I was informed that it was at a different parking lot and would have to take hotel bus to get it. After a 15min ride and 15 min wait for truck. While at the parking lot I seen sign for 10.00 overnight parking. Call front desk and was informed to talk to manager, no luck on that.
I will not be staying here again. Parking is a rip off.

Well located, but terrible customer service. Also the fire alarm goes of often and we were asked to evacuate the building in two opportunities during the night. This is the second time it happens to us on two different trips.

*$60/PER NIGHT deposit *multiple travel sites state "airport shuttle", NO SHUTTLE at all
*beds are extra firm
*no in-room coffee
*pool area closed
*exercise room closed
*no outdoor space or area for guests.
This last one is a big deal because this hotel is on Canal at Bourbon and the local drug dealers and homeless really seem to like this corner. Be ready to deflect both begging and sales offers!

Would not stay here again.

We were over charged for a night we werent there after they lost our reservation.. then the night clerk told us it was vallet only and it was free but they needed a credit card for a deposit and charged me 55 a night for parking the room was only 90... when I asked for corporate number I was told to Google it... I will never stay at this RIP off again

Great location and price. Right in the quarter and on the street car line. Second floor balcony, comfy bed, large TV, (but we didn't even turn it on-you are in NOLA!) large desk in the room, quick and clean turn down service, staff all very helpful. Unrelated to the hotel, there is a valet parking garage on the back of the block that we used, very convenient with hotel location. I've been to several girls in the area and this is my favorite for the price. Wonderful hotel! Can't wait to stay again!

1st room very noisey due to outside air vent. Second room small without a refrigerator or microwave. No rate reduction offered . We reserved a view suite. Felt you could have done better. Entire facility was very cold. A/c out of control. Breakfast :waitress rude. Like we were an inconvenience to her. Parking not posted to our bill. Took time to straighten it out. Not the way to treat a loyal IHG member.

The hotel it nice enough. We had a pretty view from our room. The night staff wasn't the friendliest but I'd probably be grouchy too if I had to deal with so many drunks. But the valet and parking situation is out of hand. The cars waiting to be valeted took up the entire block, which made Canal street even more congested than usual. The valet was polite, but he told me we'd have to self park around the corner because they were so backed up. He said it would be cheaper. So we braved Bourbon Street traffic to go to the garage he suggested. It was full. We got a spot at a nearby garage because the attendant tool pity on us, but it was definitely more expensive than the hotel valet. I'm not sure if there was an event that caused all the chaos but it was pretty frustrating and caused us to be very late to a party.

Not the cleanest hotel. And I would rid the entrance of the riff raff. Best part of my stay was Eric at the Bell Desk. He made my day! Great guy! Also, Ronald (Security), Priyanka and Nina were very nice and accomodating.

First night, no hot water; froze in the shower. We complained and were given a small credit. Second night, we had luke warm water. Finally resolved on night 3 of 4 and had actual hot water.

Didn't once, in 4 nights, get housekeeping. Every night, we ended up having to track down fresh towels and / or toilet paper ourselves via a cart in the hallway or even going down to the front desk. Bed was not made once, and we had to repeatedly put our own trash out in the hall.

It was Mardi Gras, so I had lower-than-usual expectations. They went well below my minimum.

I'm giving 2 stars instead on 1 because, despite the horrible service, we did have a kick-ass view of Canal and the parades for times we didn't want to join the crowd.

The room was pretty nice, so if you don't care about hot shower or housekeeping, you might like the place.

I stay there with my husband for our first year anniversary after getting married in new orleans. We booked this hotel like 3 months in advance. The first thing I noticed when I went to the bathroom, was a towel with 3 or 4 long black hairs and hair over the sink/cabinet area. We told the receptionist, but she didn't apologize or sounded concern. We told the guy at checkout and he told me he was going to put a note and didn't offer anything to make things better. We ask if we were going to hear from the manager and he say no. He said, we will take notes and make sure it won't happen again. This is a 4 star hotel and the long hairs in the bathroom and towel were disgusting. I never seen something like that in worst/cheaper hotels with less stars. It is sad that they don't take costumers seriously been a hotel with so many stars and due to the fact that it was our first year anniversary and it was a special ocassion. We are very disappointed on how they handle the situation and because of their lack of care with their filty bathrooms and lazy staff. We were planning to stay another night, but definitely not after seen the way they handle our concern.

Crowne Plaza has been a plenty luxurious hotel, with nice location (bordering the French Quarter), a beautiful lobby, and incredibly friendly (and vegetarian accommodating) room service

I am currently in line for check in. I have been waiting for two hours, no joke, for parking. They tell us to circle around and that takes forever because of the crowds. There is one person at the desk and when you call they hang up on you. I m not sure what the room looks like, but no hotel room is worth this.

Great stay and all my needs were met in a timely manner. I did not go during the busy season. I would definitely visit again and stay at the crown plaza. This location is central and most things are in walking distance.

One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in recently. The cost of the room was a tremendous value, the only thing that was a drawback was the cost of valet parking. Other than that, everything was excellent including the staff!

No parking so you have to pay 60 for valet a night or look for a parking garage. But you can't park at the bottom to drop off your stuff. Housekeeping was great and the bell men where great. Rooms where clean and comfy

I am very disappointed in my experience at this hotel thus far. I arrived at 9 A.M. this morning and pre-checked in. I walked around for 4 hours waiting on my room to be ready, and it is now 1:30 pm and I still do not have a room. I find it hard to understand how they can see their guests sitting in the lobby waiting and yet do not place them in a room that is already ready. Very disheartening. I ve had great experiences at Crowne Plazas thus far, but this may be my last stay if things do not improve.

Husband and I stay here due to convenient location to just about everything.... Food, entertainment and transportation (streetcars). Usually we really like staying here. This time we were upgraded to a suite on the 6th floor on the Bourbon street side. Sounds from the street we're not an issue for us (although the hotel provides earplugs in the event it does) however the room smelled more like Burbon street than it should. I don't know if it is a ventilation issue or what...but a little Lysol took care of that. Otherwise, our room was clean, spacious and seemed to be well maintained. Will we stay here again? Yes.

Extremely poor customer service. Arrived 3 hours early. When I asked if I could check in early I was told it will be an hour or 2 before room is ready and that I would receive a text when room was ready. I sat there for 3 hours and was not allowed to check in and get my room until 4pm while I watched other people for 3 hours get their room keys. I got the text at 8:39pm stating my room was ready.

For the money the room is a joke. 5 star prices but I've been in rooms at days inn that were better. Very dusty, dirty, dingy. Huge hole in wall where it looks like they attempted to cover it up with some sort of maintenance access panel. Carpert does not appeared to be vacuumed. If I can I will post images. So far only NICE looking thing I like is the lobby. I will never stay at this location again..

I stayed in two different sides during my visit I stayed in a few different hotels trying to find what was best for when I return. I love the location and the staff. I'm convinced everyone in New Orleans is hospitable. The delux side is much quieter or at least it was during Mardi Gras than the taller side of the building. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I had to kill a bug that was crawling on the wall. If it'd crawled in my personal things and layed eggs then I'd have a problem I didn't have prior to my visit. So they get a star deduction based on that. The showers were clean and no pink residue present in the corners or on the head. I'm a stifled for cleanliness.

Cant beat this location and the hotel is beautiful! The restaurant attached to the hotel is very very good! Our room was clean, beds comfortable, plenty of hot water for showers and we had a view of Bourbon street which was pretty neat. I would go back and stay again!

We are currently staying and are very disappointed so far. We had to switch rooms already since the beds were creaky and sunken in. We anticipated the noise. It expected the rooms to be decent. Will never stay here again. Even the updated rooms are not very updated. It s worth looking further out as even the location can t save this place.

I'm unsure of why anyone has complaints. My husband and I spend 5 days there 2 weeks ago and everything was excellent. We were able to check in early, I simply asked the gentleman for their best room - he smiled and said I have a room with a view of bourbon street....granted that meant 1 tiny window that you couldn't even see the street, but the room was clean - lots of towels, clean sheets, clean room. Never heard our neighbors once, never woken up by street traffic. Good service all around, we never once felt the employees were rude. Fun balcony - but we never used it to throw beads off of, it was nice to go on there in the mornings and watch the early hours of bourbon street. I'd highly recommend it if you plan to stay in the french quarter while you're there. Close to walgreens/mcdonalds/fancy restaurants and the street car. (street car is $3 for an all day pass - took us to garden district a few times).

This place is great! No complaints what so ever, only reason not 5 stars is because ive been to a lot of hotels and ive been at better, BUT no complaints about this place.. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are nice, big and open. Nice big flat screen TV and its right on Bourbon St and Canal! You step outside and you're on Bourbon! There is a wonderful 2nd story balcony if you want to be in the mess of things, but still safe and private... Wonderful hotel! I do recommend it!

If you have to have your coffee first thing in the morning do not go here. There is no in room coffee and no coffee in the lobby or anywhere in this hotel. You have to go a few doors down to McDonald's to get it. I'm pretty sure I scared some of the 6am drunks on the street heading to get my coffee. One eye squinted and hair straight up stumbling and mumbling the words coffee. Otherwise it was ok. 40$ to valet park also meh

The location is great. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The $43 a day add-on fee for parking should be told up front and not be a surprise hidden fee. The front desk was unorganized, especially with billing matters. Also, if you're going to charge $43 to park my car, how about not making me wait a half hour to get it.

For reference I am a IHG Spire member so have a long track record with Crowne Plaza Brand. The staff was nice and helpful. The location is great with easy access to Bourbon St ect HOWEVER it is not clean. Checked in on a Tuesday and departed Friday the same litter that was on floor 6 hallway was there all week. It s obvious this property is in need of some oversight. Additionally housekeeping never responded to my towel request.

Great location! Right at the start of all the fun on Bourbon Street. Awesome staff, friendly and prompt. Room was clean and spacious and fairly quiet considering our windows faced Bourbon Strret. Pool is a bit small but very nice, and the afternoon crowd at the pool had a great vibe. Great place to stay if you're looking to explore the French Quarter.

I lost my key and staff didn't even think twice. No hassel. A familar face, go on through. From the 9th floor you have a modest view with little noise pollution. Just a gently stray note or two of live jazz. Beds are a little firm for my taste but thermostat is top notch. Have a good rest but keep your eyes peeled. The entrance can be mildly illusive to a young wandering tourist. Best of all, canal street to the left, bourbon to the right, French street a few miles off. Its a hotel that screams start and end your night here.

Horrible experience!!! When we arrived the room wasn t even ready, we had to wait hours before getting into the hotel room. I stayed with them for 3 nights and used my card for incidental purposes only a month ago and they have been charging my credit card $700 every since! Watch out!!!

My room was very nice. Some of my colleagues especially on lower floors had noise issues. Conference space we were given was decent but had no windows. The Corp food the hotel provided was good but not great.
