Awesome hotel, nice pool, friendly staff, great location. Just no refrigerator in rooms.
Awesome hotel, nice pool, friendly staff, great location. Just no refrigerator in rooms.
Service was great, food was Amazing, and the drinks speak for themselves(they were amazing)
The hotel itself was okay, not a diamond quality. I believe this hotel needs to be staffed more appropriately. Check in took more time then it should.
The only great thing this hotel has going for itself is the location. That s the only thing.
Room was clean and front desk was really helpful. Alot of loitering out front tho.
Great Hotel in an ideal location. Clean rooms, great staff, good amenities. Only downside is (like most hotels in the area) parking for vehicles is expensive ($40+/night).
My family and I stayed there last week. The location is great for sightseeing. Bourbon street is right around the corner. Valet was great and check in was good. When we got off the elevator it was a musky smell in the hallway. The room was nice I just wish they had more cover in the bed it was cold. The water in the shower got warm but not hot. The bathroom door took alot of force to close. The tub was peeling.
Not bad, walls are very thin. Right next to Bourbon street so probably more suited for those looking to party a lot.
Nice hotel. It has a good location if you are visiting the French Quarter or the Garden district.
Checking in was pleasant. Our room was not made-had to change room! The bellman was very helpful. Bathroom tub had rust on drain area- concern of cutting our foot! Room size is great. Would I stay here again? I don't know.
Breakfast was - AMAZIN!!!!
Excellent Staff!
Great Location!
No Refrigerator!
No Microwave!
No free breakfast!
No free parking!
Staff Was Awesome though!
Don't plan on going back!
Nice location, nice room, skimpy on internet and amenities. I would recommend it if you are looking for a nice hotel
Great hotel, walking distance to all the attractions.
$60 a night for parking? No fridge or amenities in the room. I was given a room with two double sized beds even though I requested a room with 1 King bed. The closet door was broken too. Only positive I can say about this place is its in a prime location.
Love this place we've stayed here every Mardi Gras for the last 10years
Great location and atmosphere being right beside the well know Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Attended a conference at hotel and staff were very attentive. While I didn't stay overnight, other attendees were quite satisfied with accomidations.
Very nice rooms.Clean, nice pool.Right on Bourbon St.
Booked a room last minute and could not be more pleased with our decision. Modern, clean rooms and in the middle of the French Quarter.
Great atmosphere. I stay here with my friend for one day and staff were so helpful and professional.
Typical room in an older building. Has all the standard amenities, no frills. However, the lobby space is in need of some serious updating. The furniture is so filthy, I didn't want to sit down. It is a very high traffic hotel on the corner of Canal and Bourbon. If you are looking to be in the thick of it all and don't want to pay double for a fancier (cleaner) lobby, this will do.
Great location! The staff was friendly. Please be advised that once you valet your car you will not have access to it. However, most attractions and dining venues are available by foot. Another note, make sure you call for you car in advance on your check out day. It takes a while for the valet to retrieve your car.
May 18 - 22, 2017 - I hosted a four day event at the Astor Crown Plaza including blocking 45 rooms with their sales department, leasing their executive club room and dinner and dance in the Astor Ballroom. The professionals in the sales department and catering department made my job of hosting easy and successful. There was not one single complaint from my guest about our rooms. The Ballroom was set up just as I had planned and with a few of their decorative touches that made it absolutely beautiful. Our menu selection was "On the Bayou" buffet dinner and the comments I received were, "I can't believe this is a buffet"! Thank you Astor Crown Plaza New Orleans for making our event perfect in every way. Barbara Dantin
Perfect location for Mardi Gras. Walked out the front door to watch the parades go by on canal. Literally step outside and catch beads. Great security while the festivities are going on to keep out people who aren't guests of the hotel. Book your trip early!
I was here for a work meeting for just a few days. The room was nice and comfortable. They've been updated and I was pretty happy with it. Didn't notice too much noise in my room from neighbors or the elevator, maybe I just got lucky. Location is great, you're right around the corner from Bourbon Street.
Great Hotel near all the action just wish we had a fridge in our room
Nice room but very noisy. Do not get room behind elevator shaft. Sounds like a freight train going thru the room every 30 seconds. Good location.
Rooms were nice, better than expected based on other reviews. Quieter also then what we expected just if of bourbon st
I had a room in the updated tower and enjoyed my stay. The shower had a small bit of rust on it but I really enjoyed my stay here and plan to stay here again.
Great location - nice facilities. Less than accommodating for a requested 1/2 hour late check-out, caffeinated coffee not provided in room.
It was pretty decent. The staff was nice, the hotel was clean, and the location was great. The only thing I did not like was the $42 parking a DAY. When right down the street you have parking at $24 a day (literally, a 2-4 minute walk). In reality, the hotel charged me $54 and the car had not even been there a full 24 hours. Other then that, I would come here again but I wouldn't pay $42+ for parking again.
How would I put this? This hotel is a fabulous place to stay very clean hotel the staff is nice no complaints they keep the hotel very very clean if you never been to new orleans it's a dirty smelling city but I love this city it is my second time to new orleans and my first time staying at this hotel if i come again I will only stay at this hotel only! It's right on the corner of canal and bourbon st best location for tourists shopping and restaurants all around. Such a great place
Would give it 5 stars but no vending machines or coffee pots in the rooms. No way of turning down the A/C. But all in all great stay, love the restaurant downstairs.
The hotel and rooms are nice but its very loud due to the area and the showers seem a little cheaper.
It got 2 stars strictly for the location. It s on the corner of Bourbon and canal. A lot of the issues I chalked up to it being a crazy city but we have stayed previously with zero issues.... 1.) parking is ridiculous. Almost $50 for a regular sized vehicle. It took us almost 20 minutes of sitting on canal to get a spot in valet to pull up to get out and check in. 2.) I left with bites on my leg and shoulders from the bed or just the room in general. 3.) paper thin walls, I paid almost $300 for room and parking and they sweetened the ripoff with free earplugs! Yay! 4.) heard in advance the room service was like hospital food so we dodged that bullet... 5.) 6:40ish fire alarms went off not once, but twice! Followed by an announcement that it was a false alarm and to continue with our day... well sleep is over rated right??
Do yourself a favor and make this a last resort option
We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very nice and quick to help. Check in wasn t until 4pm but we got to the hotel around 11am (we had an early flight in). Which was when everyone was checking out from the weekend. We arrived on a Sunday. It was a zoo in the lobby but there were marked lines for check in and check out. We got checked in and they took my phone number and told us they would call when our room was ready (if before 4pm) we dropped our bags off with the bellman and went to lunch. About an hour later I got a call saying the room was ready! We stayed in a King room and our room had a view of the pool 1 floor below. The room was very clean and decorated nicely! (I always check for bed bugs, bed was clean!) and the bed was comfortable. There was noise from the city, but what can you expect? It s RIGHT downtown and didn t bother us. It really was the perfect location, we could walk just about anywhere in the French quarter or take the trolley, which is literally right across the street from the front hotel doors.
Clean room. A bit bare for a crown plaza. No windows in room, which can be a blessing for some
We stayed at this hotel because we had a Groupon, the price was great because of this and it is a prime location. Everything went great until time for check out and THE VALET COULD NOT FIND OUR CAR!! Seriously, they lost our car. After about 1.5 hours and having EVERY valet in the parking garage looking for it, they finally found it. The main valet guy's excuse was that when they sent electronically for the car that the internet went down and so they did not know to look for it, but we stood next to the valet stand for over an hour and were listening to them telling everyone the color, license plate #, etc and sending out everyone to the parking garage to look for it. Still not sure if someone took it home or what :/ They were supposed to refund our valet fees but that is still yet to happen. Probably will never stay at this hotel again because of this. Beware if you use the valet. They park on the street behind the hotel and you can park in the same place for around $25 for 24 hour period. Also the wifi is $16.95! Crazy. Luckily we could use our phone as wifi for our laptop.
Valet parking poor,50 dollars per day suxs takes 11/2 hrs to get ur car back, shower drian plug clogged, hair dryer not worked, some wall outlets not worked,a/c was not cooling stayed at 72 to 74 would not go lower, two out of 4 lamps had no bulbs, homeless people cursing, asking for money in front of hotel, enough said!will never stay at thiz hotel again when coming back to new orleans.
Nice rooms, good service and great spot right around the corner from Bourbon Street. Excellet bars and restaurants within walking distance. Parking overnight is expensive, so I'd budget that into your plan. Over all it was a pleasant stay.
Great room- very clean, spacious and comfortable. Wonderful location. Happy we booked it.
Arrived here on Sunday July 30th-Aug 1. My experience here was horrific. One parking is terrible, the Wifi is not free, lastly the toilet overflowed on our last night at 5 am in tue morning. I'm here with my 70 yr old mother. Never again in life will I stay here again.
Staff is very friendly. The beds are nice. A friend had a mouse in his room therefore I cannot give full points. Also some guests screamed arround at 11pm in the rooms. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable experience.
No security at this hotel. Being right on the corner of Canal and Bourbon Street make for an idea location.
But security is non existent or what looks like a security guard at night is just a guy on his phone at a podium that means nothing. When he is there.
Sign says to show your key to re-enter. Stayed there 4 nights and not once did we have to show a key to enter at night. Not only that there was never anyone there to show it too anyway. The one night (Friday29th September) someone was at the podium we disturbed him while he was on his phone to show him a key card but he didn't care.
Front desk staff didn't care either, when we told them about his apparent attitude problem. Was told by the front desk he worked for a security company and not the hotel. Well that's not how security should work. As we left the desk, we noticed the guy at the podium had also left leaving no one there to check entry. Again.
Nice hotel in a good location. The only reason I didn't give it a five was because it didn't have a refrigerator or microwave
For starters, our visit started off incredibly rude and with unprecedented threats. My group was there for an event and before we got off of our bus, we were ambushed with Wendell Finley (employee and officer) entering our bus and threatening the group with being arrested if we are smoking marijuana. I doubt they give all of their paying customers the same speech. It was extremely disrespectful and rude. He also told us that we could not have more than 4 people on a room at once. This was not meant for sleeping, but saying we could not go to a friend's room. Following our entering the hotel, we were corralled into a conference room and given a similar speech by Manager Mark. Another employee entered the room and told us one of our party had already been ejected, which was untrue and unecessary. The scare tactics used are not those for paying, adult customers. That being said, the decor is lovely and the ambiance is wonderful. There are no mini fridges or microwaves. The trip would have been very different if we weren't ambushed by empty threats and discriminatory comments. Will not stay here again.
Rooms are updated but the air conditioning and plumbing is poorly maintained. Slowest possible check in. Very nice views.
Nice place and perfectly located. The front desk staff is short but I'm guessing its because they are super busy!! The concierge we're excellent!!
Great location for a hotel. No doubt about that. Service is not the best. Cleaning staff does not do a thorough job. In general the room cleaning wasn't the best. On top of that, on our 2nd last day, the staff did not even come to clean once. We called them twice and at 9-10 pm they came and did a rushed cleaning job while we were inside the room. Not the best experience there. We were in the hotel for 4 nights, and the bed sheet was not changed even once.
Some positives: Room was comfortable and large. Great view. AWESOME location! We were compensated for staff not cleaning with free room service. But then the hotel charged room service to our credit card before we had to go down and ask them to fix it. So overall, not the best customer service but location is probably the best thing working for the hotel.
No hot water. First room smelled like mildew. Second room no hot water .to noisy to sleep at . Don't stay here unless you don't want to sleep.....
Clean, great location, friendly staff, no fridge, pricy valet only parking (common for the area)
No windows in room. A bit noisy with constant machine noises, probably heater or elevator.
This hotel is nice, as are it's staff. While I could forgive the fact that the pool rarely gets sun or that the front-desk staff refuses to let delivery people up to the rooms, I am unable to get over the massive amount of wasted plastic. Wrapping plastic cups in plastic? Come on, that's just disgusting and only one example among many. For me, it is reason enough to stay somewhere else.
Although this hotel is excellently located, staff and service made our stay less than enjoyable. In out 2 night stay, our room was never serviced. Housekeeping simply did not show up. When we called, they said there was nothing they could do as there was no one to clean the room. Furthermore, we had to call and ask for 3 rounds of towels as the ones in our room were either stained or alright dirty. Staff answering the phone were rude and seemed like they could not be bothered. It is clear that this warm southern hospitality is nowhere to be found here.
Very bad customer service at the registration desk.
I requested a room with view to the street and I was given a room with view to an Ugly rooftop
I talked to the manager and did not care.
The concierge service was excellent.
Very stained bathtub. Fixtures in restroom needs replacing.
My room was spacious and nice decor. Liked the central location
While our room was very narrow, the beds were comfortable and was very beautiful with wall decorations and high ceilings.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The check in was easy. The pool is smaller and not much space available to get a chair by it. Overall great stay.
Nice hotel at the end of Bourbon Street. The room are nice very quite, as you not only hear the street, but also what seemed like the elevator.
The hallways are freezing. The rooms are freezing. They only give you sheets on the bed which is not enough to protect you from the refrigerators that they pass off as rooms. (Even with the air turned to the highest temp we were ice cubes.) Called down for an extra blanket they brought up another sheet.
We encountered many different employees while there. Some were polite and some were really rude. For the most part the employees were inattentive and indifferent.
The location is excellent though. It s next to everything that you could want to do. If you don t mind sleeping in the North Pole and don t get offended when service industry people are rude to you then you ll enjoy it here.
The workers are friendly, the lobby beautiful, and the rooms clean
I made a last minute reservation at a discounted price. I was worried about the reviews that I read. The hotel itself wasn't bad at all. The receptionist cared enough about my satisfaction that she personally walked me to my room just to make sure it was pleasing to me. My room was clean and fresh, the air condition worked, the bathroom was ok, and the room was up to date. I did have an issue with valet. We had to wait for a shuttle to bring us to our vehicle. I called for my truck and they sent it back so I had to wait another 35 minutes to get it again. Overall, the room was comfortable and the hotel was nice. Definitely a french quarter feel. I would stay here again. Hopefully, in the same room.
Great Staff, very helpful, if you can spend more then one night do it.
Location is great, Bourbon House being attached was a huge bonus. Nothing special about the rooms, but they were clean and comfy.
Great service and elegant on the corner of Canal and Bourbon. Top equipment in gym. Hot water for showers and good bed mattress. Breakfast buffet was good but not on par with that found at the Riverside Hilton.
Comfortable rooms. Wish the reception desk offered more than one restaurant suggestion. Small windows. Great location.
They let us bring our bicycles into the room. Central location. Note: Parking near the Superdome is $10 per day.
I am completely upset with Crown Plaza and their reservation department. We had to change our vacation time from a departure day of Monday to Sunday and they would not credit us back our Sunday night deposit or allow us to transfer it to another person in our party. In a town full of competition you would think they could figure out away to make customers happy. We go to New Orleans several times a year in a large group and we won't be taking our group back there next time.
Conveniently located next to the French quarter. Rooms are a nice size, modern and clean
Very clean room. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great, but as expected a bit pricey. Right on the edge of the French Quarter. Street car stop right in front of the hotel. Valet parking is great, but as any parking in the area, expensive.
nice hotel with good ambience. comfortable bed and perfect location.
Very nice hotel. Expensive but in line with the regionals prices
They didn't have towels... They didn't have fridge, microwave, no parking one side is updated the other side looks outdated.. ehhh it was just ok
My boyfriend and I had a great stay at this hotel. We were in New Orleans for 6 nights, and stayed in one of the historic Alexa rooms. The room had a high ceiling, cold air conditioning, and a renovated bathroom. Housekeeping was great and did a wonderful job of cleaning our room every day and bringing fresh towels. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, including the maintenance men that responded to a small issue we had with the sink right away. The location of the hotel was good, walking distance to everything.
Everything was as expected. Convenient location and a great value for the price I paid. Would stay here again.
I had a very nice stay at this hotel. The staff were all nice and helpful. The lobby is beautiful and there was a Christmas lightening event with Santa Claus which was super cute. The location is perfect, Canal and Bourbon. It was loud at night. I could hear the music on Bourbon street, but thankfully it didn't last all night.
Horrible service and smell. The only good thing was the location and breakfast.
Really nice hotel in great location. Very clean and nice.
Room was dated but clean. Great location next to Bourbon St and French Quarter
This is an awesome hotel. I have stayed here with my husband for St Pattys Day. I stayed here with a group of friends for Mardi Gras. It was super great!! I have to say this...this is NOLA there are homeless people, this is on Bourbon St. If you can't handle that this is not for you. But you will be missing out from clean rooms, great staff, awesome place close to everything. Love this place!!!
The crown plaza itself was awesome. Great location and great staff, with an exception to the Bourban House Restaurant bar. We had a waitress who was quite possibly the most rude and unprofessional waitress I ve ever experienced. Not sure if I have ever left a bad review before, but she was intentionally ugly and unkind. Avoid the Bourbon House bar.
Clean quiet good location. Confusing hallway layout.
Not a great stay. I stayed here many times between 2008-2012 and had no complaints. My latest visit had issues. The hotel had allegedly been renovated, but it must have missed my Alexa tower room. The bathroom was in pretty bad shape. Although the staff was very friendly, my call to the valet for an 8am car pickup wasn't handled and I didn't get my car until after 8:30. The staff was great, but the facility left a lot to be desired. The Bourbon House restaurant onsite was excellent.
Great location for the price. Our room included earplugs because we looked out on Bourbon Street. Mattress needs to be replaced. Room was spacious. Bell Desk staff was extremely helpful a pleasure to work with.
Upon checking in we had to wait for what seemed forever for a room. They were so behind on cleaning that we ended up taking a room with two queen beds versus a king just to get settled. When we got to the room we thought all was ok. It seemed clean enough. Then we discovered that the toilet leaked. It left puddles on the floor we had to keep soaking up. The sink would back up when brushing our teeth. It wasn't too bad the first night so we shrugged it off. The next night when we came back to the room at almost 5 and they were still on our floor cleaning and hadn't made it to our room yet we were concerned. However, a couple hours later it had finally been cleaned. So we went out for the evening to enjoy ourselves. When we got back about 10 pm the sink was backed up. We hadn't even been there to cause this. It was disgusting. My husband went to the front desk to see if someone could look at it. We couldn't brush teeth or wash faces like that. It smelled bad! As I am writing this review we have been waiting and waiting and no one has come up to look at it. They wanted to wait until we checked out tomorrow, but he told them no. Hopefully they make it up here soon. It's disgusting and obviously needs to be corrected so we can go to sleep at a decent time before traveling home tomorrow. I am less than satisfied with our stay here. For the price of the room we expected a lot more. Especially with the added &47/day valet parking! What a waste. Go elsewhere!
Disappointed by the check-in staff. They have a Spire Elite member check-in desk which nobody mans . I waited there while they served at the other customers. When I asked why, they got all defensive. I told them that they should rather remove the sign, but they refused. First and last time I'm staying here.
We stay here every year for an annual trip to New Orleans. This hotel has gone down the tubes and we will no longer be staying there. They have replaced the shampoos and soaps with larger bottles attached to the shower wall. No lotion, only one bar of soap, and nothing else. Phone didn't work when I tried to call for a second bar of soap. When I went to the front desk to ask for one, they were extremely rude and put in the request for a soap that never showed up. Also, our room was located next to the elevators, which were so loud they would wake us up every morning. Never. Going. Back.
