Great family hotel that has something for all ages. We have been going to Crieff for years and my 12 year old and 10 year old love it. Watch out and book activities in advance because if its busy there might not be a lot of time slots left. I would say one of the only negatives is service in The Brasserie can be slow when it is busy. We go self catering in the lodges and they are great as we take the dog.

Nice place has lovely grounds and good facilities, was there for a wedding so didn't see much the staff friendly but rooms are dated and showing age now. Whole place could do with a face lift.

I recently had the misfortune to spend time at the Hydro, for a 4star hotel I would have expected more. When booking ensure you ask how busy they are, so that you can be served in the resturants in a timely manner. Also ensure that if you are a couple booking in for a peaceful relaxing break you dont book in during a holiday because the staff will not tell you. The staff are less than helpful when booking and dont get much better in the hotel, ive had better stays in a bed and breakfast in Wick. 2.5 rating is generous. I woukd ask you to choose very carefully!!!

Rooms are comfortable, nice and dark to sleep in.The drinks are over priced, and at least one of the bars should have musical entertainment in it.The staff are very polite and helpful. The coffee at breakfast is nearly undrinkable..But overall we had a good time.

Crieff Hydro is very big and has loads of activities for all ages. We found the food excellent with s selection of restaurants in 3 of which we dined. Only downside was all 3 locations were very noisy. For that reason we are unlikely to visit again. Maybe we're getting old!

Four night stay in a self catering lodge. Been here twice before, love it. Great facilities and plenty for kids as we have a 2 year old. Love the gym, pool and italian restaurant in particular. We were here last year and will come back they do some great deals. Friendly and helpful staff make the experience even better. Highly recommended

Great facilities, staff very friendly apart from a restaurant manager who was sharp and felt it was o.k to remove his mask and chat to a guest who also had no mask...
Food expensive for what was essentially a family restaurant.
Hotel is crying out for a nice adult only restaurant.

Overall would return here again.

This was our 5th visit to Crieff Hydro ( feb mid term break ) I bring my 2 Grandsons who love the hotel and the facilities, Now, i thought seriously of why we keep returning. The executive family room that we always book has everything we need , a bit dated here and there but fine with me. The choice of restaurants , including the new Piccolo pizza Brasserie there is a good choice of menus, however the kids menu is the same in all restaurants and could do with being extended in choices. The indoor facilities for kids that are getting to old for the kids club could do with a re think eg., "The Gallery " could be larger with more choice , and 1 Trampoline in a freezing cold dull depressing room is hardly adequate for the amount of children . What really lets this hotel down without a doubt is the swimmg pool and changing rooms...come on Crieff Hydro , time to get your hand in your pockets. The pool is not in any way child friendly , there is absolutely nothing in its favour , it should be bigger, with slides , wave machines , more family changing rooms etc .
But after much thought i realise why i keep returning and it is without doubt the excellent customer service that this hotel has , the whole team from management ,to front-line staffers excel in intuitive people sense, empathy, and genuineness.and make guests feel comfortable and important;
I will return

Always a pleasure to stay Crieff. Been many times over the last 10 years and it never fails to disappoint. This is the first time we have been in the autumn and there was still plenty of activities to do both indoors and outside come rain or shine. Also thought there COVID procedures were very clear and everyone was doing their best to follow the rules.

Really great hotel, the staff are all very helpful and there's so much to do!

Swimming pool is a great size, snooker tables available, kids club, badminton, movie theatre, golf course, gym, and so much more!

There's loads of choice for places to eat and all many walks you can take, it's also in a great location to wander into Crieff for the day - although there's so much to do you wouldn't need to leave!

Would highly recommend.

another fantastic visit. Beautiful hotel, in a lovely location. Staff are helpful, evening meal was delicious. Rooms were large and tastefully decorated. One let down was breakfast, poor quality and fried items had been fried in dirty oil. Didn't spoil the stay. Will be back.

Typically a great place to visit. However we were disappointed by the staff on this occasion. It's the middle of Christmas party season so it is understandable that they would be a bit worn down. Back next month so hope to see them back on top form!

Beautiful setting and extremely well run. An absolute lesson in how to run a hotel and one Scotland should be proud of. When visiting these older properties (it s 150 years old apparently!) you worry about faded grandeur but this building and it s large grounds have been very well looked after. Oh and as a bonus they have four electric car charging points.

booked for a special weekend to celebrate my wives 65th birthday booked an executive room, but it turned out to be a bit dated and we had no sleep due to the noise from other rooms and doors slamming in the middle of the night, reported this to reception, but nothing was done, so we had no sleep for two nights. never so glad to get home

Attended for a hen do. Had lots of fun playing bubble football, although they didn't provide enough bubbles despite knowing the number in the booking. Then archery which was great fun and the 2 instructors were very knowledgeable. Had a lovely meal at the restaurant after, very quick service and very attentive.

Had a great weekend with our grandkids & family. The facilities are excellent, however shame the Glen was under repair. Food in the Piccolo was nice the Brasserie was excellent. Breakfast ok, a typical buffet breakfast, should have ordered poached eggs, made fresh.
All the staff were excellent and there to make you enjoy your stay.

Great place for a family break. We had a lovely family room on first floor. Lots and lots for everyone to do. Many kids activities are free but if you start adding on the chargeable activities the cost can rocket. Some great midweek deals, great breakfast and numerous lunch / dinner options. Can be a bit noisy as so family oriented but all in all a great place for a break.

Very nice room and very helpful staff. Excellent food and drink. Incredible facilities, both indoor and out. Very family-orientated, which is great, but don't expect breakfast time to be peaceful!

Really enjoyed our night at the Crieff Hydro. Staff who waited on us in the Piccolo restraunt were friendly, efficient and really helpful. Our meal was delicious. Breakfast was busy but service was brisk and the selection on offer was fantastic. My only tiny niggle was there was a lack of signage on the approach to the hotel and in the grounds. The main road was closed for repairs and we ended up approaching from the rear car park and there were no signs for reception. This wouldn't have been a problem for returning guests but we ended up getting a bit lost with our luggage. Would happily return and stay here again. There was lots to do and see.

Beautiful hotel and grounds, excellent facilities. Victorian spa was amazing. Great food, especially liked the Italian restaurant. Was lovely weather so did an 8km run around the grounds, was spectacular views.

Plenty of activities here, good food mainly, but breakfast unfortunately was COLD three days running, no attention to hotplates, hot bainmaries, plenty of choice but everything lukewarm, coffees had to be reheated, service on hot food needs a lot of improvement. Sorry
Avoid October if you don't want Wall to Wall Children.
Spa and Victorian pool has to be booked and costs, but their deals for B&B and Dinner are really quite good.

Fun, clean, very friendly staff.

Overall a very enjoyable stay for all ages. With plenty to do on site and further afield

So disappointed. Ordered soft drinks when we first arrived, the glasses were chipped. Parts of the hotel are extremely grubby. Horrible stains in the corridor outside our room. Chipped bathroom tiles in our room. Shower wouldn t drain properly. Spa fully booked for the two days we were there - were not advised we had to book in advance even after we asked the pool reception. Then received a bill at checkout for spa use even though did not access it. Went to the Meikle Restaurant for dinner and had to send our food back, had obviously been prepared earlier and reheated, but obviously not very well because they were still stone cold. Also heard two other tables in the space of 5 minutes complaining about the same thing. Waiter took away my cutlery to give me a steak knife which I never received, so had to wait on that to eat my meal which had already arrived. Asked for bread to start and never got any, had to ask again. Asked for dessert menus and never got any, had to ask again. The whole meal was so overpriced for the quality you received, really terrible. Breakfast was much the same. Asked for 2 lattes and they arrived stone cold. Had to wait 10/15 minutes after asking for tea or coffee refills. It s extremley obvious that the hotel is far too large and they are struggling to keep on top of the cleanliness, maintaining the facilities and offering fresh food. Would not stay here again and would definitely not recommend.
