We were given an iris on gift for part of our 50 wedding Anniversary On arrival we were made to feel very welcome our room was ready early bonus ! So we decided to go for coffee in the winter garden cafe only to be very disappointed and disgusted with the furnishings badly in need of cleaning or be discarded thread bare and badly marked chairs people wee having to put napkins on the seat before sitting down we also as many of the people were having to clear the tables to allow us the eat and drink not a good first time impression . On the upside the food was good and pleasant staff

Amazing lodge just up the hill from the hotel with all modern furnishings. Loads of things to do for all ages despite some bad weather. Friendly staff and the overall feeling that they've really spent money upgrading accommodation led to an enjoyable stay.

Such a beautiful venue!Set within its own grounds which go on for acres! This has everything you would want from several restaurants, bars, treetop walking, bowls, Lazer tag I could go on!
Food is decent and the breakfast are well stacked, would advise getting down before 9 to avoid queuing.
A wee tip if your attending the hotel.witout kids, the Victorian Spa is childfree, but is limited so make sure you book in advance!

Seems to be the go to destination if you have kids and it's for good reason. Good selection of bars, restaurants and activities. Very family friendly. Breakfast was nice, although there was a 15/20 min wait. The kids pool is warm and a decent size. Only real criticism would be that the rooms are a bit tired and basic. Our TV barely had a signal. The grounds however are and beautiful and there is plenty to explore. If you visit here, take a trip to the town and grab lunch at Square Kitchen. We stumbled in one day and it was the best meal of our visit.

Great place to visit grounds are lovely and well looked after.
Rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable
Breakfast meals were amazing as much as you can eat what a great selection of everything from to fat stuff to healthy eating
Main restaurant can be a bit pricey in the way of value for money
Plenty of activities to keep the young ones active dancing swimming etc
All round I would say great place to go for a family treat for all ages

I absolurely loved my time at Crieff Hydro. The hotel attendants were polite and pleasant and the restaurant waiters were extremely proffessional. We greatly enjoyed the activities they had to offer, for example, air rifle shooting, 4x4 driving, archery, Lawn Bowles, and Laser Tag. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!

I ll be honest, dragging the kids on a short break is never easy and always stressful, so my expectations for our trip to Crieff Hydro were suitably low. However, i have to say i was suitably impressed by the quality of accommodation, food, and kiddie friendly services we found on offer. We had a lovely week and made best use of all the facilities, and will happily return with the family

The fact they offer a fantastic quality childcare (nursery like service) is a winner for our young family. I was anxious at first to leave my child with the strangers. However, I was pleasantly surprised how professional the service is. Our wee one loved it!

The area is lovely too. We stayed in a cosy cabin as well as a hotel; and we liked both. They do care about the cleanliness and good customer service. We have now been there a few times due to good experiences and I am sure we will be back. I struggle to find any other hotel company that offers such a fantastic safe childcare option so the question is not ''if" but "when" =)

Excellent stay. Wife and kids had great time. My stay spoiled by rumbling noise in room from air conditioning vents to leisure centre......however this didn't bother the rest of the family. When I reported it I was (1) complimented on my hearing (2) told it would stop later on (3) offered ear plugs.

Beautiful old hotel. Public areas like restaurants/reception are very nice. Rooms are a bit tired looking due to the age of the building and slightly dated furniture but are done up nicely, comfy bed. Saying that the view from our room on More

Went for drinks but was harassed by wasps outside so moved inside for dinner only to be greeted by another 3 of them so we just left. Time of year and weather changes don't help. The hotel itself is a nice place to be. Would go back. In the winter.

Mattress was very hard, pillows very thick and hard. Tossed and turned all night and had a sore neck on rising. A mattress topper was put on when I spoke to the receptionist. More comfortable subsequent nights. Made a two hour round trip to get my pillows from home as housekeer said all the old pillows had been thrown out. Window, when opened, rattled with the wind. Had opened the windows as the room was very warm during the night and we couldn't adjust the heating. The bathroom was particularly hot. Floorboards very creaky and noisy when walking on them. Particularly relevant during the night when going to the toilet. Breakfast was excellent, evening meals we had I didn't feel were value for money. Massage and facial by Lyn was wonderful

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff are fantastic and the management are always there to join in withe guests to make sure they are having a great time. Other hotel groups woke do well to visit and see how a hotel should be run.

This place is great for kids and families. Great accommodation. Great pool. So much to do inside and out. We went pony riding and segeway riding and loved it. Good was great on all three restaurants we tried. Especially loved the breakfast buffet.

First visit and most impressed. Beautiful grounds and plenty of choices for indoors and out. Pleasant staff and relaxing surroundings. One detail that I noted was the low down, very dirty windows and window ledges, on the lead up to the main entrance.

Only experienced the brasserie but was duly impressed. For the size of operation the food was high quality and tasty. Quite pricey for a lunch but the quality is good and the views from the brasserie are very good. Family oriented but everyone is welcome.

We married here late November of 2019. We had the most amazing time and were so very well taken care of from start to finish. Our master of ceremonies Steven McMenemy is an absolute credit to the establishment. Our ceremony was beautiful, in the pogoda in the Victorian gardens, rain, wind and all. Beautifully decorated with fairy lights and candles. He blended into our small party of 6 so well, he was always there when needed and seemlessly faded into the background at all the right moments. Despite being a small party, we were made to feel important and very well attended to. Steven dressed our room for us, changing it three times, each time he saught our approval- always nothing short of perfect, cosy and inviting. The service we received from him, Erin and the rest of the team really did make the day. We felt like Kings and Queens. Steven's attention to detail, picking up on what was important to us really surprised us and added to our day. Thank you Steven, you really did give us a day to remember and a lasting first impression of the Hydro. Our only regret is not leaving this review sooner!

OK, but not impressed. We stayed in one of the cozy cabins and while the surroudings and the whole resort exterior were beautiful, the same cannot be said about the amenities.

Cozy cabin.
Tired.
We could not find it, the signage was missing/incorrect. The cabin itself is in dire need of some urgent repairs. The main door had gaps you can fit a stick through. So did the main bedroom door. Looks like that corner of the cabin sunk. The lock and the key cards rather dated and we needed a number of visits to the reception to get our cards changed only to be told it was due to our phones and cards. We stayed in a number of hotels and never needed to worry about this. The receptionists need to speak to the hotel management. And be more courteous and polite. Once we had a receptionist greet us. The rest of the dozens of times we were met with reception staff pretending to be busy to avoid contact.
Once inside, the cabin offers everything you need, but does not deliver to the description on the website.
The equipment and furnishings are rather dated and need an update and some repairs done. The log burner not working/blocked. Spent one whole evening blowing into it. I know it wasn't my fire making skills, as there was a bucket full of half burnt logs outside the cabin that showed that the previous guests had the same struggle.

Main hotel.
Dated.
For a 4* hotel and how amazing it looks on the website, the actual interior was shockingly dated. From the carpets, stairs, furniture, both indoor and outdoor, to the facilities. Most of it were simple quick fixes. It has seen its better days.
Looks like they either fired their maintennance team, or the management do not feel they need to invest.

Food/Restaurants.
Too expensive for not so special pub grub.

The kids menu lacked healthy options. The fish we ordered for our wee one came with a piece of plastic wrap on it!
All bread was white, no brown/wholemeal/sourdough...

Coffee in any of their restaurants and bars rather disappointing, tasted of cleaning products. Did not have full fat milk in any of the facilities.
The staff in the restaurants and bars were very good!

Staff.
Very friendly, most of them.
Receptionists. Ignored us.
The receptionist at the spa had no clue about their procedures. Could not explain what certain massages were about, eneded up leaving without booking anything.
The rest of the team were very helpful and friendly. The staff at the Big Country team were amazing. Our boy always loved going there and everyone we spoke to in the kids club were an absolute delight, they love the kids and the kids love them. The recap we got from our little chap was so tempting we were sad to be grown ups.

Pool.
Rather dirty. Steam room smelled of not sure what, but we were not finding out. The kids pool was very good, great move with the bucket full of toys. No water fountain in the pool area.

Gym.
Ok. Not much to add, a standard hotel gym. Lacked extended opening hours.

Recap from the perspective of our child, 2 1/2 yo, he thoroughly enjoyed it from the pool to the beatiful walks, big outdoor playground, the Big Country kids club, squirrels and rabbits everywhere, horses, ponies, stairs, lifts, anything and everything.

Recap from the perspective of the paying parent. Rather disappointed. Well overpriced for the experience we had. The little one had an absolute blast, but I am not sure that we will be coming back.

We even left a day early.

Stayed in one of the lodges with the family for 2 nights. Very nice with a log fire burner. Facilities are excellent. Bit of a shaky start as my wife was sent an email clearly stating a 3pm check-in only to be told it was 4pm. Just as well we didnt bring any frozen food. Immediately redeemed themselves with a courtesy call from reception checking everything was in order. Pool isn't massive but suitable. Food in the hotel seems expensive. Free 2 hour childcare slots as standard I think. Games room plus soft play. Plenty of outdoor activities as well

We love Crieff Hydro. Such a family oriented place with staff who are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. We always stay in the self catering lodges which suit us just fine. Big Country for the kids is just brilliant and my daughter looks forward to going and never wants to leave!

The accomodation is well placed and maintained. Spent time in the Victorian Spa, and other than having too book a two hour time slot a few days in advance, the spa was really peaceful and relaxing. I would also recommend high tea in the summer house!

Stayed here many times over the years with a group. Sadly this year there has been a decline in standard in various facilities. Small details, cut backs and poorer service, especially in the dinning room. Not what one expects from a top hotel. Watch out Hydro before you loose customers!

My family and I are staying here in one of the lodges for a holiday. The hotel is an amazing place and there is lots of things to do in and around the hotel. I highly recommend this place for either a family holiday or for a single person or couple

The cozy cabin we stayed in was really nice, not too far from the hotel and facilities. It had everything we needed. One downside was some of the restaurants were closed to accommodate Christmas parties, which is what the staff were mainly dealing with, however that's what is expected this time of year, I would recommend the cabins and would go back one day.
