The shrimp and grits and crab cakes eggs benedict ...
The shrimp and grits and crab cakes eggs benedict were both fantastic!
The shrimp and grits and crab cakes eggs benedict were both fantastic!
This place is an excellent little gem. Cute decorations with a big picture of Muhammad Ali right when you walk in. The mimosas here are excellent and the food is even better! Great portions and service. Place stays packed and I can see why!
I do not understand how this place gets 5 stars from ANYONE. Everytime I come, my food comes fast, but it also comes cold. I would rather my food come fresh, rather than fast. The toast has been preparred before we came, the sausage the same. Cold and not fresh. Last time I came, my gravy was cold 3 times. I gave up after that. I was okay with them microwaving it but all they did was repour the gravy. Cold gravy. Now my wife was served potatoes that were hard and not cooked through when she ordered them well done. 2 stars ONLY because my server was nice, although she served excuses for the potatoes. These two experiences have been an epic failure. Breakfast is too easy to mess up. Never again
A Busy, Fun place to enjoy a Delicious Breakfast & Great Service! Reminds us of New York--high energy & tight seating:)
A good local diner for breakfast. The pancake portions are big, so ask for a half order.
The berry and banana pancakes were delicious. I enjoyed this place.
Biscuits and gravy, tasty coffee, and the skillet potatoes!
I love the French Quarter meets French toast. During this Covid-19 its been my favorite takeout meal. Every time I call in my order its is done quickly handed to me warm. Highly recommend. I can't wait to sit in and eat.
Great breakfast & brunch food. Awesome service & great atmosphere. If you're in the mood for breakfast food. I would strongly reccomend giving this place a shot.
Wife and I were visiting from MD. This place is a hidden gem. Had a delicious brunch in this casual cafe. Nice people, nice patrons, yummy food. Hope to come back sometime.
I'm not sure if it was just us, but it was our first time going and our waitress had no personality. Not only that our food was terrible, the biscuits and gravy smelt like wet dog, also the tables are so small you hardly have room for anything.
Always a delicious spot for breakfast or brunch. There's a nice coffee shop next door if you want a fancier coffee drink.
Also if you go, be sure to get the biscuits and gravy. Even a half order for the table. Or get a side of gravy for your meal. 10/10
Yummy place to eat and it was our first experience too!
Cool place with good food, but the prices were high and portions small
Great service, cup of coffee and excellent burrito.
The food was delicious had such a craving for eggs like theres no tomorrow and the classic with potatoes and toast was amazin, too bad we live so far away.
Food was delicious and service was great and quick!
Always love the crabcake Benedict! The sweet dishes are pretty good as well. Its always packed and the tables are super close together.
The food is good but between our wait to be seated (almost 40 minutes) and the wait for our food (over 45 minutes) we just felt it wasn't worth it. We were also placed at a table just inappropriate for dining. Our server had to take normal table items off just to make room for our food.
Our server also forgot my side of fruit which she upcharged me for and our pancake was slightly burnt but overall still good. I would not dissaude others from trying it out but when we return to visit Louisville in the future we will consider somewhere else for breakfast.
Food was very good tasting and Big portions. A bit noisy but worth it.
Great food, come early or be prepared to wait, though it's definitely worth it
This place is usually crowded, and pretty loud. However, it is one of the places around town we like to go for brunch. The food can be hit or miss, but when it's a hit, it is so delicious! The staff is also very friendly.
Nice place, friendly staff, and really good food. Grits are especially good.
Such a delicious restaurant!! I had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs here and some type of fruit tea. I was very happy. The waitress was super cool too and even gave me a tea to go!! I would definitely recommend stopping here if you are visiting Louisville!
Wonderful service (THANKS, KELSEY!) capped off my first visit. Food was very good and the Bloody Mary was a knockout! We will go again.
I don't get the "breakfast of your life" reviews. I think they do things fine, but it's not a destination breakfast place for me. However, I do like it when I want someone to cook me breakfast and I want to go somewhere close. I would bump it up to 4 stars if they cooked their hashbrowns better and made them crunchy (undercooked every single time) and if they actually toasted the bread/english muffins - those end up undercooked too. Service is underwhelming.
Bloody Mary and biscuits with crazy were on point. Atmosphere is for the hipsters. Hole in the wall.
The best breakfast in Louisville! Were there a total of 3 times. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious! Is in a nice area and is worth a visit :))
We love the changing menu and the mimosas! Always seems busy but worth the wait.
7 of us were in for the big bicycle races, heard about this little place, pancakes and waffles ( Dutch apple pie!) were excellant. prompt service and very friendly, coffee hot and free refills. I dont even like biscuits and gravy but they had just won the People's Choice Award at some annual B and G cookoff for Lousville, so, we sampled some. Beware...they might be addictive, they are that good. overall had a great time in Lousiville
Great atmosphere and the food is just simply amazing! A bit pricey, but well worth every penny
This place is awesum needs to to bigger the food is great everyone is friendly. Bartender Nicole is a gem. Will eat there again if in the area.
Bad management. 4 open 4 tops with a 45-50 min wait. This is the second time we have experienced it. Will not be back thought we would give it another chance.
Highland Morning is always consistent with food and service. The wait staff here is always very kind and the better of the two locations.
Classic breakfast done really well. Great location right on Bardstown Road, food is tasty, service is good, street parking. Typical Highlands sights, sounds and people.
It's loud inside, not much room to wait or eat and the floor is dirty and place needs a cleaning.
Brooklyn kinda feel.
Sit inside or out.
One of my favorite breakfast spots. Best biscuits and gravy in town. Great pancakes.
Excellent breakfast, but limited and cramped seating.
Treated my mom and aunt to brunch. I got steak, scrambled eggs toast and fruit.. steak was SUPER tough, eggs was burnt.. and was up charged..not informed until after I asked.. HUGE Disappointment!!!
My favorite dishes are crab Benedict and biscuits and gravy has a 2nd place award in Louisville
Our server, Sarah, was very efficient and friendly. 6 of us enjoyed delicious selections ranging from breakfast to sandwiches and salads. Our entire group enjoyed their meals. Prices are very reasonable for the freshness of the ingredients.
Great local breakfast place with delicious burritos!
Thought the food was great but a bit overpriced. However, the selection was great and I appreciate the locally sourced ingredients.
Excellent food and attentive staff. Just recently visited for the first time, but already have plans of what to order next time.
This is the BEST brunch in Louisville, but go during the week cause this place is incredibly crowded on weekend. The food is phenomenal and the staff is very kind. The space is very small and intimate but I've never had visit where it actually felt crowded even when the restaurant was full.
Went down on a Friday morning and got a table right away. The service was excellent, the eggs and pancakes were great, I also found the prices to be reasonable. It's a small cozy place that doesn't have a lot of room. So you will get to know the people eating along side you.
Don't understand the hype. Cramped space where you're sitting on top of each other at uneven tables. I've yet to order anything I really liked but this last visit I couldn't eat anything I ordered. The corn cakes were burnt rocks and my dish was swimming in an oily watery liquid. The only redeeming quality was the service. I don't plan on returning.
Highland Morning is probably one of the most coziest breakfast spots here in town, I've not ventured much on their menu but I do my go to is the Baja Benedict. Always delicious, and during this time of the pandemic, I wanted to show how lovely this meal is. So I bought it after attempting to grocery shop this past week. A Louisville must visit!
Had the crab cakes benedict. Ridiculously good!!! Hated to eat the last bite because I didn't want to see it go. Had the eggs poached medium. Came out perfectly plump. Whole presentation was flawless. Cakes were plentiful with shredded crab and were not greasy. English muffin provided perfect crunch. All textures spoke individually but yet complimented in flavor. Also had one piece of french toast made New Orleans style with bananas and candied pecans. Will definitely return. Should have taken a picture but devoured too soon. Sorry!
I m rating them a 4 is because our food was cold. Food was still good. They are following covid standards very well. Very clean. I don t like they have to use styrofoam cups for coffee and plastic cups for serving salt and pepper, syrup, butter, etc. I think it s terrible for the environment. Anyways, food was good. Service great. And they turned someone down while I was there bc they weren t wearing a mask, which I thought was hilarious!
Arrived at 8:30 Sunday morning and the staff was Ready To Go! We didn't have to wait for a table for four, and the food arrived fast. My pancakes and bacon were cold, but overall our meals were very delicious. Service was courteous and prompt. I look forward to returning on a weekday when I can linger over a plate and enjoy the combination of flavors from a truly delightful kitchen.
My goodness what a solid breakfast place in Louisville. Unpertentious and actually pretty cool. I liked the simple black shadow people pics on the walls. My local friend took me here and we filled up on the breakfast Hot Brown sandwich (OMG! A delicious heart attack waiting to happen and I loved every bite!) And the eggs benidict which tasted like a perfectly executed classic, just the way I like it. Perfect meal to send me on my way back home to Michigan.
Amazing food everytime. Service is usually good, sometimes spotty. Small space, expect a wait at brunch.
Loved the breakfast. It was delicious and worth the price. This placed is PACKED and very cramped, however. People with anxiety about stuff like that be warned.
A quirky little place with great place. The waitress was great helping with our order. We have a granddaughter with a soy allergy and she she checked several food items for us to make sure they were safe.
This place is dirty and the food sucks but the staff is nice.
Delicious food in a friendly atmosphere. Server was glad to help with recommendations of what to do in town!
The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is great and the prices are not bad at all. Service is great, my cup never got empty and the coffee never stopped flowing which was absolutely great. Definitely worth checking them out and the parking in the back is very helpful. I definitely recommend checking them out
Great spot for breakfast (haven't tried the lunch menu), be sure to try the biscuits and gravy! Come early cause this place gets slammed!
Small environment. The food they served was something I could do at home better
Food was decent but it was crowded and the staff was super short with us. A girl spilled champagne on us and was more concerned with herself than me being covered in alcohol.
Visiting from England - excellent service and good food - will defo be back on my next visit to Louisville!
Highland Morning has a great menu, a family- friendly atmosphere, very attentive service, and delicious food! Their New Orleans French Toast is incredible! The waffles were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.
Service was very fast, so If you're on a lunch break you will have plenty of time.
We enjoyed our brunch very much and I'll certainly come back to explore more of their menu!
When we babysit my grand baby we always eat here. The staff is GREAT food is great!
Highland Morning has some of the best breakfast food I've tasted from Louisville. Some of the freshest ingredients and unique ingredient combinations add up to an amazing culinary masterpiece. The restaurant is impeccably clean. My wife and I can't wait to come back here!!!
Great breakfast spot! Our group ordered a variety of egg dishes and pancakes- all consistently good. Coffee was subpar. Was expecting locally roasted, or at least above average, coffee options.
