Good brunch, worth the wait. Bloody Mary was ok. Pleasant staff, especially considering how rushed they were.
Good brunch, worth the wait. Bloody Mary was ok. Pleasant staff, especially considering how rushed they were.
Haven't found a dish I don't love! But definitely try the fresh squeezed OJ and the to-die-for Biscuits & Gravy Omelet.
Great food and atmosphere! Nice friendly staff too. We will definitely be back.!
The food is amazing! I love breakfast and the size of Highland Morning.
It was good. Though the potatoes were undercooked and my friend's sandwich wasn't good at all. If you want the pancakes, that's probably your best option.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Kira was a delight.i highly recommend the Baja Benedict, or the orange pancakes!
Food was great as always
But the server today
Michael
Dont sit in his area
Never once checked on us
We had to stop other waitresses to do and get what we needed.
Had a wonderful breakfast. Food was great... we knew this is a loud restaurant because it is small and very popular... HOWEVER, had a waiter rearrange the exact same tables and chairs the entire meal... made our experience less than enjoyable..
selection isn't the best and the food is just so-so. I probably just ordered the wrong thing, so this is definitely a temporary rating.
Used to be great instead of okay. Food and service have suffered this year.
The biscuits and gravy was so good, it gave my husband goosebumps. The lemon and blueberry pancake was heavenly. The place itself had a very friendly, homey vibe and great music. We were visiting from out of town, and briefly considered moving to Louisville to eat here more often. It's uproot your life and move states good
Crab cakes eggs Benedict. I don't even bother to look at the menu anymore
Yes, it is always packed here, but that's because the food is so amazing!
We came in from DC and our friends recommended this spot for breakfast. Good decision, the food was flavorful and our server was helpful and friendly.
Love this place. Consistently excellent breakfasts. They also do lunch. Busy, good service. Very dependable.
Me and my wife's favorite breakfast spot the Coe's do a great job could go on forever about this place go and try it as soon as possible
Excellent waffles. Very good pan cakes. Fresh products. Friendly welcome.
Stopped here on my way out of town for a quick brunch. Now I wish I lived closer. It is a rather small traditional diner style restaurant with very friendly wait staff. The food is very high quality. I highly recommend getting the grits instead of home fries.
Highland Morning what HAPPENED to you? My three egg omelet (must have used quail eggs) was tiny, it was missing an ingredient (spinach), had a piece of cold sliced Swiss cheeses sticking out of it (really, at least shred it!!), the orders were mixed (mine was the one with potatoes, not my wife s), the coffee was cold (perhaps the worst transgression) .No really it was that bad. Made IHOP look like it belongs on Bardstown. Give me back my favorite breakfast joint, not its evil twin!
Best Biscuits and Gravy I've ever had. Full stop.
Service has always been well enough when I visited. But it's a little cramped. Let's be real; this is not a place to take a party. Also, in the mornings (the best time to go!!) the sun bakes the restaurant. Last time, I wore my sunglasses indoors the entire meal. Maybe some half length curtains or something of that ilk would really make that better and could be drawn back later in the day.
Other than that, nothing but great things to say about Highland Morning. So happy to see them expanding.
The food is delicious! I thought we would have to wait for a table, but we didn't. It is a tad on the expensive side, but the taste is worth it. It is a small place and you are right next to the table beside you, but the atmosphere is good. I'd recommend to everyone to try it!
Highland morning is my default brunch place. I would be perfectly happy to have highland morning every morning. The food is good, coffee is nice, and the mimosa's come out by the bucket. The pancake of the day is always interesting, but I suggest you at least get a side of the biscuits and gravy(they are to die for).
It was nice I took my daughter there to eat for the first time and I really like my breakfast it was good
I really like this place, but have taken a hiatus from eating there. My food has been wrong the past 5 times I have been there. Maybe they are too busy.
The food was amazing and the servers are the sweetest. I highly recommend!
Great service, and fantastic food! I d go here any day!
Absolute best coffee I've ever had - very mild and not acidic whatsoever, I could almost drink it black. Also have delicious gourmet waffles and pancakes. Personal favorite are the Key West pancakes.
I was honestly disappointed by this place. It was not bad by any means but it did not live up to the hype. There are other places I'd rather go
A cozy restaurant with a great menu and delicious food.
You have to come here. Baja Eggs Benedict with a side of French Toast and grits of the day....just simply fantastic. Great food, wonderful service with a quaint cafe feel.
Great setting. Cool location. Biscuits and gravy was excellent. Wait staff was friendly and prompt.
Great new twists on classic southern breakfasts. Was pleasantly surprised by the barsstown roadie sando and salad (dressing on side).
Food is very good. Biscuits and gravy or any of the eggs benedicts are my favorites.
We ve been waiting a while to try this place because their so busy on the weekends. We had the Nutella tower waffles and one of the omelettes. Both of which were fantastic. I do feel like the waffles would have been better with actual strawberries instead of just syrup. We will be coming back soon.
Definitely a busy place, it was too crowded and had a long wait when i first visited louisville but luckily during my second visit i was able to eat here with only a 15 min wait!
The waitress was kind and the food was good. I had the D's spicy breakfast sandwhich and i definitely recomend it!
Wonderful food. Wonderful service - and worth the wait ANY & EVERY time you run into one...
Food was good, service was good, was expecting better. Short on help
Good service, pleasant atmosphere, but mediocre food. Only thing that be got to my table warm was my coffee, which, in the spirit of diner-nostaliga, was pretty good.
EXCELLENT!!! Every visit to Louisville includes a stop at Highland Morning!!
This is my favorite breakfast place in Louisville! They have the best biscuits & gravy in town. If you would like to beat the crowds I recommend going durning the week or after 2pm on the weekend.
If you're in Louisville, grab breakfast at this spot!! You will NOT be disappointed!
Great service and delicious breakfast. Bonus for dog friendly patio!
One of my favorite places in Louisville. Many choices, all delicious.
This is really delicious food. Every thing from eggs to waffles for the breakfast. Service is fast and friendly. Everything tasted great from the eggs to the coffee.
Had Steak and eggs ask to be scrambled lightly and they were hard and the be skillet potatoes were hard and burnt, oh and let's not forget about the cold ugly toast that butter wouldn't melt on. The Steak was good no complaints about the steak.
Excellent breakfast and nice environment. I had a table right after I got there and also my food was served fast.
Great and unique food in a quaint atmosphere! Will be back!
Amazing food. Friendly server's. Clean dinning area love the feel of the place.
A amazing breakfast place with a really huge pancake
Love this place. Crab cakes egg Benedict was amazing?
Nothing bad to say about this place. It gets busy, but that's because it's soo good. Great food, great atmosphere, locally-owned.
Would have been nice to actually eat there. Went there yesterday at 8am to have breakfast and a business meeting. Only to wait until 8:15am and still no sign of any employees on site. If you have a sign that says 8am . Be open by 8am.
Love this place. Have tried tons of things and they're all great.
I ordered a KeyLime pancake today for takeout. I had a pancake from their bardstown road location a couple days ago, which I'm thinking the food must be made better there. I ordered the Key Lime pancake from St. Matthews location, but once I started eating it, it had this odd, peculiar disgusting spice flavor. I'm beginning to think they must have used the grease from the chorizo they make because it tastes of that food. They shouldn't mix food with that grease, because it is quite a distinct overbearing flavor. This is one of the nastiest pancakes I've had at any breakfast venue. I won't come to this location again.
Great local diner feel. Not fancy and it doesnt need to be. One of the best brunch spots in Louisville.
Lots of menu options and great cozy atmosphere. Ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were sadly burnt on the bottom. Overall, good experience
The food is always awesome and the service is just as great!
The best brunch in Louisville. No contest here folks. Food and drinks were fantastic at Highland morning. My bourbon bloody Mary was tasty and finished with a bacon salt rim too. Food was just great. Not a huge place so don't sleep on getting your name in during a busy time.
Our food was great. Service was good.
But, our waiter running - running - 2 blocks to catch us because I left my card - Highland Morning has good humans... and a pretty great breakfast
Thank you!!!
Two words, Eggs Benedict! That's not to discredit the other food, I've had number of other meals here and they all deliver far beyond expectation. The staff is great and the Bloody Mary's help kickstart your morning!
Good breakfast stop. Nice food at reasonable prices. Biscuits and gravy were really good! Get there early on the weekends, they're known for filling up fast! If you have to wait there's a cute coffee shop right next door though.
1. Delicious biscuits & gravy.
2. Delicious pan fried side of potatoes.
3. Get extra gravy.
4. Murals are really cool on outside of building.
5. Try the Bloody Mary.
6. Staff always friendly and nice.
7. Try Highlands and Saint Matthews locations.
8. 5 Stars rating in my opinion.
Best breakfast joint in the city if you ask me. There's always a wait on the weekend, but it's well worth it.
The good was really and for the price matched what i paid
They have the best food....whenever I come home, this our first breakfast spot
Highland morning is always packed, but that's because the food is fantastic. The service has always been good for us. Atmosphere is okay.
Excellent food. Fast, friendly, & courteous service.
Great menu, friendly staff, and in a great location.
