Great food & great service! Be sure to get there early or you're likely to wait. We had a 30 minute wait at about 11 on a Sunday morning.
Breakfast with juice for two adults came to about $30. The Key Lime Pancakes were amazing. Unless you have a huge appetite I suggest only ordering 1 pancake. They are huge!!!

Very nice atmosphere, excellent server named Kelsey, omelettes are very very good, potatoes could have been cooked better and the grits were barely warm , not really edible. But overall we enjoyed this place and will go back

Been here a few times, and each time we go service is always above and beyond. You can tell the staff truly enjoy where they work and the customers they serve. I've had the French toast, Pecan Pancakes, and the breakfast burrito; all amazing. My husband's favorite is the biscuits and gravy (he says they're one of the best he's had). Only issue is with the outside seating; each table should have a small umbrella. Last time we sat outside and I got so overheated by the sun and had to switch places with my husband halfway through the meal. Nevertheless, we will continue to come back.

three strikes and your out. This place has great food but the last three times I've been there the service is unacceptable. I will never again rearrange my weekend plans because I order breakfast Highland Morning and don't get served until lunch time if at all.

Service can be very good or just fair. The seating is limited and it's a very popular place. The food generally is good, but again can be inconsistent. Probably a little over priced. But the biscuits and gravy are the best I have found in Louisville.

Highland Morning is the best brunch place in Louisville. Everything is fresh and flavorful... there isn't a bad choice on the menu.

The Highland Not Brown was really creative and very tasty. I've never had anything quite like it... sort of a weird but awesome combination of biscuits & gravy, grilled cheese, and a turkey manhattan. I will probably get it again next time.

A feature of their menu is the grits of the day. I am not usually much for grits, but on a previous visit, they had a special chicken parmesan grits dish that I tried and I was honestly blown away.

The service is always friendly and attentive. They are often very busy on weekend mornings, but it's for a good reason... it's definitely worth the wait!

The waitresses were terrific, top notch! Seating was very tight and the food was just good, not great. The potatoes were already cold when the plate was sat in front of me. The Baja was bland. For the prices, I expected just a notch better quality of food. The ambience and service was great though. I will probably go back a second time to see if that was just an off day on the food, or I just didn't like my particular dish. But a second time of cold potatoes and I'm outtie.

This place has steady increased in popularity. They got some major and well deserved publicity from Urban Spoon. Their grits of the day are always fun and challenging to the palet. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. You'll leave super stuffed.

Service was great, but the food wasn't. My omlet was lukewarm, bread was barely even toasted and the grits were ok.

My husband enjoyed his food and his toast was toasted, so maybe it was just bad luck on my part...

Our server was really inattentive. I asked for something to be remade because it was made incorrectly, and it was taken to the back, wiped off, and returned to me with the other side facing up like I wouldn't notice. Our server disappeared and sent had to flag down other peoples servers to get refills, clear plates, etc. After the food was dropped off again, we didn't see our server again till she brought the bill and watched us to see how much we would tip.

I'm sure the resturant has quality, but this visit did not share that.

This place is super busy for good reason. They somehow always manage to take care of those waiting so don't be afraid to wait outside. Reasonable prices considering how good the food is.

I love brunch hour and this was amazing. The French toast was amazing. The inside has these black and white photographs on the walls. It s a different type of bench from the usual high end scale place. I got french toast and fruit cup, and it was only $10.05. I would definitely eat here again and our waiter, Tyler was very nice.

Great local breakfast spot in the highlands. Highland Mornings is a breakfast/brunch staple on Bardstown road and has been for years. They have a great selection of breakfast and brunch items including some rotating short term local variations of grits and such. While i do enjoy it quite a bit you have to get here early to avoid the wait. If you get too late you can be looking at a 45 minute + wait. I have to say few things are worth a 45 minute wait in Louisville. If you are a brunch junky it might be worth the wait though.

Absolutely amazing service. I informed the waitress that I was still feeling a bit iffy from being out the night before, and SHE BROUGHT ME OUT 2 IBUPROFENS!!! I could have cried. She was amazing. Best part of my day trip from Cincinnati

This place was amazing! The kind of breakfast place that knows they are good, so they don't have to overcompensate with fancy decor or hefty prices. The biscuits and gravy were a bowl full of buttery/sausage goodness. Expect to wait, but good news is that there is a delicious coffee shop next door!

I had a wonderful time eating brunch with my family on my birthday. Myself, my son, his friend, my daughter, her boyfriend, and my mom all went to eat breakfast. The wait wasn't long for 6 people at around 10:00 am on a Sunday. We got there before the church rush. The food was hot and delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. The only knock I would give is that the sausage gravy was a little greasy for my liking but i'm sure many people would like it. Parking can be tricky because it is on Bardstown Road which is notoriously busy, but the side streets around the location have ample parking. #healthy I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I almost always love this place. It was my favorite brunch location for a long time. Though I'm willing to bet it was a fluke, my last experience was meh. The baha Benedict was watered down, much less charizo than normal, and the spice wasn't as awesome. But I'd say out of the 15 times I've been there, it was the only meh experience. I can reccomend it to anyone.

The staff was very friendly and very attentive to us. It was very clean and fairly busy for a Friday early afternoon. This was my first time eating here and I would have to say that I would come back. The food served is fairly similar to all the other restaurants in the Highlands except for the fast food (Rally's, McDonald's, etc.) restaurants and the Mexican restaurants.

Service was great but the food was not very hot and the place was not extremely clean there was water on the floor underneath our table and out in to the isle. The waitress almost slipped on it. There was no pepper on the table lol no problem tried to grab off multiple tables all empty. No big deal. We might go back but there are alot of places to eat in this city. Nothing really grabbed me here.

Highland Morning is a staple brunch spot in the Highlands, though not without it's flaws. While the food is good and the atmosphere cozy, there is usually a significant wait during peak brunch times due to the popularity of the place. The mimosas are outrageously priced for their size; if you're looking for a Sunday-funday, consider somewhere with a bottomless mimosa deal. Six bucks a pop for a flute half full of champagne will quickly bankrupt you on your way to a buzz. For a small group willing to wait and looking to cure their hangovers, not prolong the, this is a good enough brunch spot to consider, particularly when the weather is nice and the people watching on Bardstown road is at it's prime.

Took my wife and two teenage kids here for breakfast and was told there would be a 20-25 minute wait. We waited over half an hour while watching other people with larger parties check in, wait, and then be seated. After 40 minutes i went to check what was going on and was told that it would be another 15-20 minutes at which point we just left. Look, it's one thing if you do t want to take my money but don't waste my time too. We won't be going back here again.

Absolutely satisfying! 4th or 5th time there in the last year or so. If you leave hungry, you didn't order food. If you leave dissatisfied, you've never had good food. Great atmosphere, simply scrumptious breakfast menu! Super fresh tasting, very enlightening menu.

Will never get a BLT(A) anywhere else. So tasty, make your tongue smack your brain!!!! I personally added a runny egg.. omg best combination to put between toast. And this place knows how to do it proper!!

Service is just ok, probably because the place is busy busy!! Always very friendly though!

Tots of great breakfast options w great twists!!..and I don't particularly even like breakfast food

Cons: if you like your taters extra crispy..dont bother, they dont have the skills but thats the only bad thing I've found. (Hint hint management!)

The place is cozy, however our experience was not. Our server engaged in the bare minimum conversation possible and our food was mediocre, which is unfortunate. The pancake looked great but wasn't cooked all the way through and the standard biscuits and gravy tasted of sharp cheddar cheese. Maybe we went on an "off" day but we probably won't return again.

Absolutely awesome. Great food, prices match what you get. Nothing too expensive. Get their biscuits and gravy. Friendly people and great location. Parking can be a bit tricky but don't let that keep you from coming. Bloody Mary's a must!
