CoCo Key Water Resort Reviews

Me and my family planned a 2 night stay. The staff was great with the exception of the Operations Manager, (he was a bit cocky). The room in building 3 seemed nice enough at first but had bed bugs. We notified the staff, and was given a new room. The next room was two rooms away from the first. The sheets had shown evidence of bed bugs. There were stains on the mattress and sheets. By this time it's getting late and we still don't have a room. We are now introduced to the Housekeeping Manager, she was very nice. She found us a room in building 4 that was updated with hardwood floors and poolside. It didn't have a smell and was very nice. Jessica and Ozzy, from the front desk, gave us food and drink comps and refunded our first night. Denise (HM) gave my son a stuffed animal and checked on us often. The water park was nice, if I had to return I would only stay for the waterpark. I dont plan to get a room there again. I do appreciate the staff and the accommodations.

After all the reviews we contemplated asking for a different hotel, but decided to go anyway and I'm glad we did. The room was very nice and clean and the staff was some of the nicest people! They let us check in early with nothing but smiles from everone we came across during our stay. The location is right near everything! We will be staying here during our next visit to Orlando.

Great for kids! Construction with jackhammering didn't help..

We were here for the waterpark! If you go into it knowing that, that's half the battle. Just pretend you're camping. Floors dirty, phone broken, faucet and toilet leaking..Staff is great, arcade was clesn d fun.

Waterpark and activities were great. Clean rooms and very courteous housekeeping staff. Front line staff very busy, lines long to check in making unhappy customers.

Itinerary says wed get queen beds get here and have full beds I'm literally writing this at 5am due to lack of sleep!!! AC is broken too it won't stop on it's own so its either freezing or hoottt!!

We are currently here at the hotel! We have been calling for 3days about having an handicap accessible room and shower. Was informed keep calling to make sure it was handle. Spoke with someone this morning said no problem, also on the way here. Get here get checked in and wouldn t you know it check us in to a regular room!!! 2hrs later finally get the type of shower we need but not bed!! Then there are roaches in the room, been standing up front waiting on management for 30mins now. Was told corporate was here when we spoke to management earlier. Can t even get 1 of them to speak to or a phone number for them. Worst experience ever, just because we have a handicap person doesn t mean we are blind, deaf and stupid but that s how we are being treated

It was a nice room at half off but they charge "resort fees" and "hotel fees" that are NOT ONLINE. I booked a MONTH in advance then they charged extra when I show up. I will never go again.

Nice hotel however was closed on the first day of the complete slide park and on the second day the children's water park. Very disappointed as we booked this hotel extra for our kids. The construction work was not finished until we left. Sorry we will not be back.

Clean rooms and great room service

Fun place for kids to have fun. First day we called to make sure there were rooms available, front desk said yes and upon arrival 10 minutes later, we waited 2 hours to find out everything was booked and they could only fit us in for the next day. Found a toenail in my bed during first night stay and had to wait 2 hours to get hot water as the boiler was having problems and maintenance wasn't available. They did compensate us with free breakfast for that morning.

Clean rooms. Awesome pool. Staff really friendly in getting us a room after a wait.

Staff is very nice..the rooms have a grama house smell..and mildewy..so during 2nd night there was a leak in my room from the ceiling where no pipes were..it was still leaking and i reported it them..no one came for 45 min..The room smelled of wet dirty carpet.

So i was offered comps for 2 drinks .6$ in change for washer and dryer (no detergent) and 3 buffet tickets. The supervisor Kennedy was pleasant but could not make decisions on issuing some sort of refund for the hotels incidentals..
If i ruined anything in hotel i would have be charged for an incidental..so am i wrong to expect compensation for theirs??
I was on hold for 8:27 minutes someone picked up and hung up..left 3 messages..no call back

The waterpark is clean and lifeguards were on point

Check in took entirely too long. Water in the water park was far too cold for my 4 year old (she was shivering in June) and several items/spots in the room were not clean. The beds were actually comfortable. This place was very overpriced for the stay.

I booked Coco Key through my bank's travel discounts, I had never heard of it before and I stay in the Universal are at least 6 times a year. After booking (non-refundable) I Googled it and found many negative reviews. I was extremely worried, especially because it was my husband's birthday weekend and he has respiratory issues and I was concerned about all the reviews that referenced "mildew" or "mold" and thus possibly ruining his weekend.

We arrived to the hotel which looks slightly dated, and were greeted pleasantly. The check in process was smooth. The room was nice for the price. It appears to have been recently painted and the floors maybe changed as it was not carpet. The room next to us was vacant and had the lights on and looked just like ours, so we assumed that section must have been upgraded. We were poolside and the areas that I could see all looked clean. We didn't have the chance to use the water area because my kids were sick and it was cold, so we limited our stay to our room.

The only negatives I experienced: the sink drained slowly, so water would accumulate there. The toilet had very low pressure and we had some issues with flushing thoroughly. The appliances were inexpensive and the iron and the coffee maker leaked slightly during use. I went to hang a shirt and the hanger broke. There were a minimum amount of towels. The walls are a bit thin. All of these were minor nuisances and definitely not deal breakers. At one point we needed a microwave and called to see if there was one available for use in the lobby and the person said they'd bring one to us - it was there within 3 minutes!!! We were pleasantly surprised.

It is evident that this is an older place but it is undergoing some major positive changes. Denisse was extremely helpful during our stay. I believe the new management is really trying hard to bring it up to standards and we could definitely see their efforts - when we were checking out we noticed some workers and several paint cans as if they were working inside a room. I am sure there are many that, unfortunately, haven't had the experience that we were able to have, but I think this place definitely deserves a chance. Great accomodation for the price, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Nasty, dirty place. If it was not for the water park only hookers and crack dealers would go here.

We love this resort. This it our second stay here. Lots of things to do and close to ask the attractions.

Not the best quality rooms..but overall great place..beautiful layout..right in the middle of international drive..so much to do..and the water park is fun..kids will love it

Place was good. Only complaint was our air conditioner was loud and sounded like a jet plane taking off!! Room was good

On the boomerang slide I got stuck with my brother and the life guards sent down other kids and my brother almost got hit and we got in trouble.

Not what I expected.. was ok, but they had bugs in the bathroom, not as clean as I thought

The worst place to come I will never spend money here again. Very disgusting place, staff take forever to bring you stuff for your room i waited an hour for four wash clothes to take a bath because our three rooms had none. They messed up my sisters reservations and tried to blame on her. Nasty beds and had to get switched to a whole new room at 12am with three kids. I would never recommend this place for any family to bring there kids, having to drive 2 1/2 hours to get here and relax with family and Been hell every since. Do not come here.

Dank. The rooms are smelly and have a lingering humidity that makes everything feel moist. Rooms are out dated. Staff was nice. Reservation said one room type, reality was another.

It was awesome! Rooms very clean and fresh no ciggarette smell. Bed is very comfortable.Water park is nice and guards do there job.at all times.

I do not recommend it at all, super full of people do not respect social distancing, very dirty swimming pools I do not let my daughter go there for anything in the world it seems a lie that it is a 3 star hotel and of the first world

THIS is not a hotel nor a resort, more like a motel, whoever rates this place 5 or even 4 stars is nuts. Theres always a first and last time for everything because one night is all I needed to experience a negative stay.

Absolutely love this place! We always sneak away for a few days and this place has something for the whole family to enjoy. Great rates. If you normally can't afford vacations/staycations you can here! Thank you for the most amazing memories and experiences.

Not Cocoa it's Coco key Hotel . one of the exciting resorts not too far from the world biggest McDonald's on international drive Orlando. Love it

Great Waterpark all day fun inexpensive some is covered from weather

When we arrived the TV only allowed us to watch 4 channels. Nano (the engineer) came quickly assessed the situation and addressed it promptly. Kudos to him.

Enjoyed the convenience of a Waterpark integrated into the establishment. Many other entertainment venues within walking distance for families, adults, kids, etc. Very close/short drive to Disney World.

This hotel does not offer good service at all. All of the front desk workers are helpless. They do not smile and does not welcome there guest. The first thing they say to their guess is how can I help you. I would not recommend this place to anyone or would I ever return back to this place. The water park was ok . The only reason it was ok was because the kids had a blast. Anyone can walk into the water park from the outside because the workers don t pay attention to the wristbands. No wonder it same so crowded. I had my wrists band from day one and never receive another one cause I did not ask. So me and my family been going there without one and they don t care. Look around and see how many people don t have a wrist band. Housekeeping sometimes don t even show up.

I would never go back to this bad service place again. All this money spend and service is terrible. The front desk workers makes you want to turn away. Too bad I couldn t cause I did not want to disappoint my family

Second time back... The boys love this place and so do we!!!

We went here for our daughters 7th birthday and our kids had a blast! The arcade games were a rip off and basically took our money because none of the machines worked, but the water park is awesome and everything else around the hotel is easy to get to by walking distance. Chuck e cheeses and cicis pizza is directly across the street, if you're looking for a quick place to take your kids to eat. Wifi is alright. We will be back!

We stayed here in July on arrival we were asked to to pay $50 on our room in case of any damage. When we checked out we where told the money would be put back on our card. This was nearly 4 weeks ago and we still haven't had the money back. Will write a full review about the hotel when they finally give us our money back.

Only giving it a one star do to the money issue.

Great for the price but rooms are what you pay for... dingy. If you can deal with that it's a good fun cheap getaway

I was not impressed they make you feel like they only know theh want you money. I FELL on a badly maintain rugs, The Manager was told what happened and all I was told we're sorry do want an accident report they did not inquire about anything. I felt like it was my problem also when I said before anyone get hurt worst than I did which I hurt my wrist and my right knee and got drug burn on my left toe. Do you know that they sent someone to staple the lifted rug which was moronic you can't staple rugs to concrete and I could not enjoy my grand son's birthday due pain and fear of falling also they left wrinkles on the rug that can trip you really spent a 3 nights of a nightmares. I hope that you pay attention to your patrons needs a little caring that someone was hurt physically and emotionally. Thank you for ruining my visit.

This hotel is horrible because i went on a trip with my group and in one of the rooms were overflowed and tv and iron wasnt working

My family loved staying here! The water park area and pool were so much fun; my daughter wanted to play here as much as she wanted to be at Disney! We would hurry back from Disney each night (a cheap Uber ride away, BTW) to cool off on the slides and in the pool!

The rooms were nice and the lobby was well-maintained. You can walk to every food place imaginable for your meals. My only (small) complaints were the short wait we had for our room to be ready, and having to call the front desk a handful of times to get restocked on toilet paper when we ran out.

Very bad deal and do not respect your reservations online, .. would give less than a star.

Overall not a bad place, just went for the water park, did not eat at the restaurants. Room was decent and clean for the most part, par for a typical family style resort. The "smell" is cleaning products, strong disinfectants so keep that in mind.

Heated pools made the water tolerable, during the day time and 70 +/- temperature was ok with the none heated portions, still a bit chilly but it's expected as it was during winter.

Only complaints I have is slow WiFi (understandable considering lots of guests), rooms could be more toddler proof and cable service was sub par, especially when it's hard to stream on wifi. Staff was friendly however, housekeeping was out at all hours and given the carts they push around and the texture of the floor, I could tell where they were at even in a dead sleep and I sleep like a rock.

Beyond that, I wish the rate was cheaper as it was pricey though you have to factor in the holiday and demand.

We may go again as the kiddos liked it and that's what counts.

Disappointed AGAIN!! Dirty, unorganized, no communication, no towels, all employees look like zombies or shell shocked. Really poor energy. Excitement, enthusiasm or pride in the property, their jobs, and surely not the guest! Room was old, no bathroom ventilation, toilet rocked back and forth, not enough lights, shower had previous guests hair, unclogged a cup full of her, and puked...and just like last time, ice machines broken, had to walk to other end of hotel 4 buildings. To get a bucket of ice. Then no one could tell me how to redeem my 20 arcade credit for over 24 hours, and talking to 3. People. Pool up front was cloudy with so much chlorine, and hot tub smelled like urine something awful.
I will say 2 front desk reps were awesome, the lifeguards were attentive, and the girl in the gift shop was sweet.

The manager was so nice to me, our air stopped working and she didn't hesitate in upgrading our room and gave us free breakfast buffet tickets. Great way to vacay

The room was clean, kids had a good time, my issue came weeks after I left the hotel. The $50 holding fee was not automatically returned in 7 to 10 days, and I would have probably never received it had I not called the hotel, but from the minute I called and said I had an issue I was disregarded, placed on hold, told me to follow up with my bank because it's not there issue, I called accounting no one ever called me back, I asked for a corporate number and was told they didn't have one, no one ever apologized they just placed blame, even after I mentioned I was planning on returning, but this experience is making that decision hard, I was still not offered an apology, and I'm still waiting on a call back from the manager Gloria, it's sad that if you want to file a complaint it has to be done through a manager BEWARE!! ""

Pay for what you get. The family room option is nice if you need the space and beds. Rooms are outdated and TVs are 32 inches but you don't go to Orlando relax in your room. The water park hours were more limited than expected. If the water park is closed there is not much to do there.

Decent place, water park was ok, friendly staff, good location to close by restaurants. On site shuttle to universal was very convenient

Good hotel but rooms are just 2 statlr at most, uncomfortable pillows, smelly rooms.. Service is poor...there are never any towels at the pool or at the waterpark. We stayed four days and twice our room wasn't serviced despite having a generous tip on the table. TV remote did not work you would think they'd check it before checking guests in... they sent someone in to replace batteries two hours later. Waterpark is nice and clean, main pool is really nice and open until 10pm which was nice. Over all an OK stay just wishing they'd improved room comfort and service.

I walked in they said $32 a night Resort fee, above the Room charge of $65( Varies depending on day of week) a night plus $10 A-day to park the car!, I walked out old an dirty, the only thing they got going for them is a water slide.

Good people. Only down part some water of the water slides where down for repairs.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. We booked through Universal with CoCo Key's. Our flight got delayed 6 hours so we called the hotel to let them know only to find out our reservation was messed up so we called and got that fixed through Universal. Then we arrived at 2:00am and were rudely interrupted by the night clerk who told us they gave our room away and it was our fault for not calling. My husband showed him the call log where we called and he did not budge nor offer to try and fix the problem. He put us in a closet sized room with a pull out sofa and two rollaway beds that he then required we put a $75 deposit down on. My husband was livid that he was now being asked to pay for a room after paying for an entire vacation that you just gave our room away on but we would still have to pay for! The bed was horribly uncomfortable, the phone didn't work, the furniture was falling apart, and my oldest son was stuck on sofa cushions for a bed. The following day the day manager was kind and helped us out and put us in a double queen room but we asked for a rollaway bed for our daughter and were told we would get it but never did. The following morning we asked again for one because we were told it was on a first come first serve basis and by that evening they had given them all away. Oh and don't expect a free breakfast like EVERY OTHER HOTEL on the planet! You will be shelling out $12.95 per person for the same crappy breakfast you get anywhere else. Don't waste your time or money here if you plan to spend any time at the parks because the water park only stays open until 7:00pm so you won't even get to use the facility. We will NEVER go back to another CoCo Keys.

Came to Coco key for my mother s birthday with my two children. Waited 30 mins in line just to be able to check in. Once I got to the room I opened the door and door latch was locked from the inside. Had to wait outside my room with all luggage while waiting for someone to come fix the latch. Once I was let into my room I realized the room was never cleaned from previous guests. Was promised it would be cleaned immediately and 2 hours later it was still not clean. Front desk offered me a clean room but it was a family room which would be $150 more than I was already paying. I asked them just to clean my room if they couldn t do anything else. Ice maker had no ice and soda machine didn t get us the soda we chose. Fridgerater in room was warm with no shelving and no hot water when taking a shower. Whole stay was just a hassle and we will not be back.

Hotel is great. The water park is too unpredictable to book in advance.

The absolute experience I ve had at any hotel first room we got had shattered glass everywhere waited in line to get on elevator going up or down couldn t swim in pool during the day to many people went to dinner and got back tried to go swimming again there s way to many people in a small pool kids jumping on top of me and my 18 month daughter zero respect for social distancing zero care from staff we re packing and leaving not even staying the night absolutely horrible completely disgusting I wouldn t ever consider this place again so not waste your time or money

Charlotte the manager from COCO KEYS and DWAYNE the Supervisor of Maintenance was very unprofessional, one minute they say my reservation was cancelled, so I should get my refund from the the third party so then I can rebook with them. What kind of help is that. When one minute Dwayne said that there were no rooms available but if I book with directly from coco keys there s availability, Go and kick some rocks and go sell that to idiots. COO-COO KEYS is not a great place to stay. I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable

King bed room was nice and big. Pools weren t crowded in October. Pool bar wasn t to bad. Only problem was ac in the room sound like an airplane. Besides that will definitely stay again. FYI read all fees when booking cause there are a few

Actually, this hotel damaged my vacation with my family, it was not what we expected to find the room very small, and they gave me the ugliest area of the hotel I think that for them to call it a resort, they have to make some changes to the hotel because my family and I felt that we were in a motel 6, the only good thing there is the staff is very friendly and cooperative and I had a good time in the pools but otherwise I am not happy with my stay at the hotel.

Not satisfied with the conditions of the rooms... I got it for a great price, and checked out the photos online and the reviews and thought I would go for it... The location of the hotel though close to the theme park felt a little unsafe. As for the hotel itself, the landscaping was well kept and the lobby looked decent. The rooms however were a different story, to be far they did look like they were updated, but once you walked in you felt dirty... So let's just go through the list with as little dramatization as possible... First there was a rather large holes in the wall of the bathroom and visibal water damage. The furniture was stained and dirty, as well as the sheets and carpets, and towels... the ones without holes that is... Another thing I noticed that kinda grossed me out, was the phones, they looked tinged from the grime over the years, it was nasty. There was dust everywhere even on the ceiling. And the last thing that dropped this hotel, in my opinion, down another star was the walls, they were very thin... and apparently according to the front desk the majority of the rooms at the motel were adjoining rooms and they could not tell me which ones they were (didn't belive that)... and they were not just connected to one room they connected to two different rooms, so the sounds of multiple family was the unpleasant lullaby that we had to endure. That is until we checked out the next morning and moved to the Holiday inn lake buena vista. A little more pricey, but way worth it to me. At least this trip ended better than it started. So if you want to risk it I would say if you are like my kids and wife and are highly allergic to dust and pets, bring claritin because you will get a reaction.

I highly recommend you don t waste your money on this place! I booked a three night stay, but ended up just staying one night. Now that I look back on it, I wish that I wouldn t just turned back around and demand my money back. I instantly started noticing how bad it was on the way to our room. Big stains on the hallway carpet, gnats all over the walls, the smell of moldy basement. Our room also smelt bad, with gnats flying around. The toilet didn t flush had to call front desk so they could fix it, which they did right away. To make things worse we found roaches in the bathtub and in the mini fridge next morning. That was the last straw to check out. The only good thing about our stay was the water park. My kids had fun there and the arcade room. Will not be returning back! Still waiting on my refund.

Rooms were nice, kids really enjoyed the water park. Great location.

It is excellent, it is central! It is good! The staff that attended to me, the young woman is called Laly, very helpful and very attentive! I loved!!

Stay away. Broken bed, sheets smell awful, mold in the shower, something growing on ceiling too. Ended up leaving after one night & paying for new room at a name brand hotel.

Staff are jerks but the place was nice....besides them charging way more than was told for an extra night
