CoCo Key Water Resort Reviews

This the worse and most outdated motel I have been to. I can t even call it a hotel or a resort! As a person who works in the travel Industry this property does not match the quality of of any major brand like Hilton or Wyndham. This is even below a holiday inn or motel six. The rooms are outdated and poorly clean and maintained. The bedding and beds are uncomfortable. The management is disparate. The managers of the hotel don t manage the water park so they treat issues separately. They shut down early and shut down rides during the day citing this is the off season. This is Orlando there is no off season! If I could give it 0 star I would. I ve paid less for better I allegedly have a deluxe room. There is no room service complementary breakfast or anything. The on-site food facilities are over priced as if you cannot walk accross the street and get better quality and bigger portions for a less price.
Never again will I stay here

I really liked my stay. But with the shower it continued to drip after I turned it off.

The water park and bar area were very clean. The lifeguard staff are extremely attentive. I don't believe I have ever been to a water park with more attentive and observant lifeguards.
Our room was clean, and spacious. For the price, it is hard to beat this place for a kids weekend.

The room was really unimpressive, small and not very homey. Beds were hard and the room could definitely be cleaned better. There was no microwave or chair in the room. There was noise almost all night as well. Made it very hard to sleep. The staff were very friendly and that is the only reason this is getting 2 stars instead of one. I believe good staff is very important. My daughter did have a blast at the water park, however there were way too many chemicals in the water. Our skin felt like it was on fire and my daughter looked like she had two black eyes after playing in it. Her hair looked damaged and straw like as well. Even my husband, who never complains about anything, complained that his skin was burning after. This is my biggest complaint. Water should not be burning your guests skin!

Super and excellent service and for children the super water park I recommend it.

I was so excited to take my daughter here for her 6th birthday. When we got there in the room it was an average room for the price of 189 a night I thought its was going to be very nice. I was disgusted with the room it was stinky. Like old water sitting in carpet. I paid 736 for three nights stay. I could have stayed at the Hilton for these prices. These rooms need to be upgraded terribly. I loved the fact of security walking around and the water park itself was ok for the age group I had along with me. I would not stay in this hotel again. The pictures online do not look like the rooms in person.

I like the water park and etc but the front desk staff barely help when there s something wrong..I was washing clothes and the dryer kept taken my money and saying my card was declined. I checked my online banking and it shows there laundry machine took 20 or more from my card. I tried almost every dryer non of them was working.Also one of the ladies said the laundry was completely free expect for the soap and it wasn t..

The pictures definitely give off a totally different perspective of the resort, perhaps photo shopped giving the impression it looked a lot cooler via pics vs. in person - My Mom and I stayed here for the night due to traveling and stopped in the area. However - I was there for 1 night (arrived at 9pm) and I was charged a resort fee for the water park I was unable to use due to staying 1 night, I definitely think they should have given credit due to arriving at 9 pm, maybe a $15 fee vs. $32 fee since the water park was closed. On the flip side, the resort and room in general is very outdated and smelled, the shower had hair etc. I wouldn't stay here again nor' recommend to family/friends.

Worst hotel experience I've had in Orlando. Ever. We stayed here for our son's birthday because it was close to a theme park and had its own water park. While my son had fun at the water park, the adults were disappointed. Our rooms smelled like feet.....musty, old, dirty, feet. We bought a deodorizer for the room but it didn't help much. We also felt uncomfortable coming in and out of the building at night. A few sketchy people who weren't guests were hanging out near the entrance and asking for money. The arcade was ok but be prepared to spend money. My family won't be coming back here. You take your own risks.

I was told to put in my accessibility requests into the box and said I needed an accessible bathroom. The type of room we booked doesn t have those. No one bothered to tell us that. The bed had sand in it from someone else. We asked that our sheets be changed and they only came and remade the bed. They maintainence man tried helping us because there was no supervisor that would talk to us. He was very nice but not his job to come to our room to talk about all of the issues that we had. I ve only named a few of them. There were more. One of the supervisors did leave a card with an email with the wrong address and a phone number that no one answers. I called every day we were there and I ve left messages since we ve been home. Management still hasn t called me back and we ve been home for over 2 weeks. I ve never been blown off from a hotel as bad as this one. If you didn t have any issues it would be an ok place to stay. It s also deceiving but they charge an additional $10 to park that isn t explained on Expedia or the hotel part of when that gets paid. The location is good but I would find another place to stay.
The water park closes at 7 so if you plan to go to one of the parks it will a likely going to be closed when you get back. They do have a nice warm pool that stays open till 10.

It was ok.. It appeared clean but the rooms smelled moldy and rank.

Great place to stay with kids... we didnt have any issues there whats so ever and the staff were extremely friendly.. the room its self was perfect for what we paid for .. i hate that people go on here leaving bad reviews thinking that for wht they pay the should expect a 5 star hotel!!!! Get your stories straight!!!! You get what u paid for people and honestly its more then enough... Excellent staff and id be happy to comeback again and again!!!! Bless coco key! The condition of the rooms were very bad. I asked for a king suite no smoking. It smells like cigarettes. Carpets smells awful, air conditioner not working, Bed sheets, linens were dirty. Alot of bed bugs. Toilet was horrible. Ambience was very bad. Receptionist is very nice. Hotel is HORRIBLE!! The house keeping management is trash. I watched how the housekeeper management speak to those housekeepers. I just feel so sorry for them. Theres NO RESPECT!! at all i see. No wonder the house keepers not doing a great job.Need a better management team. Theres alot of good oppurtunity for this hotel. . Need improvement in this hotel. I spoke to the housekeeping manager her name is Shellyann she wasnt sympathic about my concerns. She just laughed it off as a joke. Hopefully corporate sees this message. And do something about this hotel and their housekeeping management staff. I would not be coming to this hotel anymore!!..

Very POOR service. I was very disappointed in the staff and manager Carlos. I was disappointed in the room I was staying in. Tv had no remote and didn't even turn on. The phone had no cord to hook up so couldn't make calls to front desk. I was lied to hung up on. I was suppose to have an upgrade and they sold my other room. Staff and manager did not seem to care one bit of my concerns or that I was gunna cancel.. I am NOT happy for the amount of money I spent and the service and quality I got. Very upset and do NOT recommend this place if you are going with family.

Slides were closed when we got there. And it was overcrowded.

Rooms are easily accessible, water park is very nice has three big slides and kiddie pools, and the room service was great

The best hotel to stay in if your kids like water. The lifeguards do an amazing job. Will be staying here everytime we go to Orlando or any other city that has one.

It's ok, I could've went to Six Flags in Atlanta and went to Our Hurricane Harbor if I wanted to get on these kiddie slides/pool.

Really conveniently located. It's central to everything you'll want to see in Orlando. You can handle your car rental in house, they offer transportation to all of the major parks and the staff is really nice. We actually cancelled one of the hotels we're staying at later in our trip to come back here. Plus, your kids will love the water park and pool.

horrible place to live, its like a 1 star motel if there was no water park in it, horrible people starring at night to you like you are about to get robbed wile they are smoking weeds, no kitchen ? bathrooms are worst, plus they have the discounted disney ticket counter which is a trap at the new level (never go to them)

The kids had fun in the water, but for me i like the hot tub.

Fun time for families, water park is fun and the staff is friendly. A/C in our room wasn't good, but we dealt with it. Food is cheap but not that great!

Wouldn't bother staying here again unless they gutted the rooms, rooms are cut and pasted back together, carpet stinks( not cleaned/dried properly) shut down the water park earlier than posted, didn't get "room refresh" no restocking of towels, wash clothes etc cost way to much is that enough reasons

Maids can be slow to clean room the next day. Like 5-6pm slow. Most soda machines have issues with cash or coin or they are sold out. Towels by pool are rarely there. But I will say that for the price they are doing decent at competing with other resorts. Hot tub is awesome, water park looks fun for kids and a pretty decent arcade room along with 2 bars a resteraunt as well as a gym and convienence store

bed and pillows were horrible, no wifi, outdated spmelly carpet and the water park closes if thunder is within 10 miles. Not worth the money

Went for the day the food from the resturant service was horrible and under staffed, we waited over and an for 2 orders of French fries. Will not eat fro km there again

We Had fun.. IF anyone has kids its a must u bring them, the kids will really enjoy the water

Felt overcrowded and people were extremely rude. Some of the staff was nice though.

Do not stay here!! Stayed overnight and regret that decision. This is a MOTEL not a hotel. It's old and outdated. The rooms stink like mold and I pray that our poor lungs have not been infected. I was moved bevause the tenants next door were loud and wild talking, screaming and pounding on the floors. Beware! There were bugs in the bathroom when I went in around 3am. I wanted to run screaming. If I had a car I would have just left right then and there and slept in my car. Never again! I was prepared to write an average review because the pool area had arcade were OK. But the room issues a no go, above everything!

Horrible service. My room was disgusting. The toilet was clogged along with the bathtub. It was dirty. Very disappointed.

Rooms were worth money. Life guards busted their butts..! Aracade and food shd be affordable so people actually play and eat there. BUT Nice place.

Wasn't there to use the water park, but it looked fun enough. Ate at the grill... good. Cool arcade. Room was clean.

Slow front desk service. Lady called my boyfriend and told us to hurry up back to the hotel before they give it away when we checked in an hour before and they said our room wasn t ready. The room smell like smoke and our room wasn t cleaned well. They have an old A/C that doesn t cool off the room. Just a bad one night experience.

Wow this play is amazing! The slides at the water park were amazing fun.The kids and us grown kid parent loved it.Fromt he moment you walk in to check in with great friendly service to the life guards.All questions were answered .Thankyou for keeping up with CDC Protocol,so we can be safe and enjoy the time we had to get away from all the chaos. TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO EVERYONE.Happy 2020!

Very good water parc and helpfull staff. Clean and spacious. Breakfast was not the best.

A really nice family resort. My kids loved the water park. They also have on site laundry facilities and a really nice arcade. We had fun.

Room is ok, location is ok. If you want to take the shuttle bus to the Universal Studios or the Volcano Bay, you need to reserve in 1 day advanced. Water park is small.

The only good things about this resort are its location and its waterpark. The rooms are far from enjoyable. The rooms, the HVAC, the locks are all very lacking. The pool is enjoyable for the kids but the cleanliness of it is very poor..cups all over the ground, towels left everywhere, food left on the ground, kids left to run around unattended by parents, no staff presence.

The bathroom has no exhaust vent so if you have several people in your party taking hot showers then your entire room will be hot and muggy. The A/C struggled to maintain the room at a comfortable temperature, combine that with the lack of the exhaust fan in the bathroom and it was working overtime for nothing. The heater put out a burning smell immediately when you turned it on that smelled awful, almost as if it were filled with hair.

The room keys lose their memory if they come in contact with anything. Even keeping them away from our cellphones, keyfobs, and credit cards we had to have them replaced 3 times.

The foot traffic is high around the rooms and the noise is very clear through the doors and windows. Other guests were smoking marijuana and it could be smelled all around our side of the resort (Not good for families with small children).

On our last night the smoke alarm went off for no reason 4 times throughout the night, once every 2 hours from 10pm up until 5am and it was excessively loud. When I told the front desk they said they were not aware of it and that they were sorry... If I had to redo my vacation plans I would not have chosen this resort, I would have paid a little more for something more comfortable. You could see on my of the other guests faces as they came and left their rooms that they as well were very disappointed, almost as if they felt doped. The pictures the resort posts are very nice but do not come close to the real deal.

We had a great time here. Got here early was given early check in no problem, kids were able to use water park, which was clean and so were the pools. I had an email that was sent to me for an upgrade for rooms and late check at a discounted rate, I elected to get them both, it's not guaranteed but since they weren't sold out my request was granted for the first night, was told to check back when we get out of the room the following day to see if there were cancellations so we could have the upgrade again, we were also granted that. The breakfast buffet was good and inexpensive. The kids loved the arcade. Rooms were clean, I didn't smell any mold or mildew as some of these reviews state. Staff was also friendly and helpful. It's not a Marriott or Ritz but definitely nice and we would come back again.

Almost a good hotel. It is not bad but needs some work before I could recommend it. The staff is brisk and seem over worked. The rates always seem low enough that the place is packed even on the off season, then they allow day trip people to the small water park making the crowded place even more so. The Water park has 14 slides but only 3 are not "kiddie" slides, so teens will not be distracted long by it. The location is great for International drive attractions but unlike most hotels in the area which have shuttles every 15 minutes their shuttles to the theme parks may as well not exist (web site says they have them but only one I found in 3 days was that if you buy a package of tickets to universal from the hotel they will get you a ride there)

Worst ever!!!! Spent over $200 for a terrible room. Rude front desk, 3 of the 5 slides in the ''water park" were down, one pool 'being cleaned' (they open it at 11), breakfast was worse than a freebee at the Days Inn. Words really cannot describe this place. I guess if it was $69 for the room, free breakfast and $10 per person for the water park, I would not be so upset.

Upon check in we got a room that smelled like onions and had ants the lovely staff change the room to another room that. Had more problems the light wouldnt turn off they had to unplug it the a/c sucked the joining door wouldnt open and to top that off we had to kill a roach smh what a resort .....that seemed like a motel to me its over price need to be renovated and tented i will not be returning there never again.

Rooms were very spacious for my family of five very close to a lot of restaurants and closer to universal studios then I expected

family friendly atmosphere and in the middle of everything! Great rates! Family deal for 2 rooms!!

This resort is ridiculously overpriced and outdated and the front desk staff staff is rude. Our appeared to clean however it felt dirty and unsanitary. There was an order coming from the restroom. Also, inadequate amount of wall sockets. WIFI IS NOT FREE. I can say that the water was nice. Therefore the revenue is invested back into the park

The hotel and resort was good. However I was highly disappointed by the fact that a large part of the water park was closed due to construction. I was not told this would be the case during booking. The waterpark was the only reason why I booked at CoCo Key. My daughter had seen the photos of the water park ahead of time and when she realized she was not able to use the water gym, she was sad and threw a tandrum. The hotel should advice guests of these things prior to confirming the booking.

Ants were EVERYWHERE including the sheets so I had to keep asking for them to be changed. I stayed there 8 nights and by the last two nights I think they were finally gone. Won t be staying here again.
I also hit my neck on the water slide and my neck is still swollen. But I won t blame them cause I didn t lift my head up.

I absolutely loved for a family vacation attentive staff and clean rooms a lot to do inside and near the hotel.

Not the fanciest of places, but the on site water park, pool, hot tub and 4 day passes to Universal Studios it's well worth the price!
Only issue was the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night & no compensation for it was not cool!

It has everything in one place as well as being in a super central place

Rooms are okay when you first see them , but would see little ants or spider insects everywhere also had roaches , ( even in the coffee pot!) our sheets where not clean and smelled gross . On top of that the same day I left I had forgot my infant daughter (expensive) earnings in the room and called the hotel to see if they could retrieve them for me and they said they would go and check and call me back , sadly they never called back , I had to call them back and remind them only for them to tell me they didn't find anything . I even told them exactly where I had left them . We even had to pay for the water park , that we didn't even go to because it was freezing cold the days we were there . Never returning to this hotel!

They close water park early. Mildew smellig rooms. When park is open they are half staffed. So half rides are closed for and hour then they switch. If your kid is under 40" this park had 4 identical slides for them. This is a budget attraction is all they have going for them.

Nice location. And the best it's the water park in the hotel!

The site has a very good location. Comfortable rooms, but in cleaning shone by its absence. A lot of accumulated dust.
For breakfast, I give it 4 stars.
