CoCo Key Water Resort Reviews

I will NEVER stay in this motel again. Far from a resort. Especially if Universal gives discounts if you buy tickets and stay in this resort. I am disappointed. People smoke uncontrollably by the pool and I couldn't enjoy it with my children because of the smoke in the air. You can smell the weed walking around the damn building. 130 a night i want my money back. Zero stars is more accurate.

Great fun for my family and I, waterslides were a blast, great family environment. Staff very courteous

Place is pretty ghetto. The rides are to short and not very fun for adults. I'm so happy I didn't stay there, it appears to have roaches . I felt pretty nasty after leaving the "water park." I bet half of the pool water was full of urine. If they added more slides and cleaned up the property, it would have been 4 stars.

We visited CoCo Key to enjoy the water park. Admission cost us just over $30 per person. The water park area was actually much larger than we expected, as it extends into the middle of the motel. There was pretty substantial kids' play areas. It wasn't great for our 1 year old toddler, but she still had fun splashing around in the shallow end of the pool. I think for kids probably 3 and up, it would be fantastic. The water attractions appeared to be well maintained. Only saw one small slide and one fountain down, all other attractions seemed to be operational and in good repair. The restrooms and locker rooms weren't ideal. We abandoned the family restroom after detecting an odd smell, lack of changing table, and maybe something that had grown on the tile. The normal locker rooms were acceptable, although a few more hooks or benches to place bags or clothes would have been useful. CoCo Key has some tough competition in the area for the big attraction water parks, and not really at a huge savings. However, we found it a great way to avoid the big crowds at the big attractions.

Kinda dirty. Lots of contruction. They put us in a room that's not big enough for myself and 2 friends

It was a great place for children and adult to water resort and pool very very great easier for kids have fun don't give patent a hard days it was the best keep it clean and also people who smoke should be out of pool area where smoke sign at not in pool area I have seem people smoke in pool area I am against it I smoke but I step out the pool go to smoke area for kids sake pls do that keep kids in healthy thanks!

The hotel is characterized by cleanliness and a wonderful reception and attention from the hotel service and annexes and features the ideal swimming pool for children.

The rooms in building 6 were very old and bad smelling (like wet mildew) BUT the front desk was extremely accommodating and moved us into a far cleaner room. The water park and pools are clean and fun, we went on very empty days so it felt like we had the resort to ourselves. The location is also amazing, with many things to do such as go karting, rides, shopping malls, and food nearby. However, made my stay amazing was certainly the customer service. Everyone at Coco Key is extremely friendly and happy to help, it really makes you feel welcome. A special shoutout out to Simon who is really sweet!

The room itself was so stank it smell like mildew they gave us the wrong room wouldn t let us use our military discount and we couldn t get the pool view that we booked for,it was a disaster I will never go again

Love this place. We stay here all the time when we go to Orlando.

My family and I have booked three times, and very soon we will go again, I love it, I wait for my sister from Mexico and I intend to take her to coconut key

It was pretty nice! The slides more water and more rafts. The wait time needs to be a little quicker also the breakfast buffet eggs were nasty needs better eggs. But overall experience was fun.

Haven't gone yet but I will be going for two weeks. Hoping from what I read I will still have a good time, good room where i won't have to move around or go to another hotel

This is the very best place I have ever stayed.. I say that being someone who has stayed at many. For the money you spend here you can not do better. Nice rooms and the water park is amazing for the kids. We came to go to Disney world but saved money by never leaving coco key resort. The kids didn't want to Leave the water park. Will be staying here next summer for sure.

Being attached to a water park is great that part of the hotel was perfect very clean and great lifeguard staff. Now for the hotel rooms the rooms are dated and the hotel itself could use some tlc the cleaning and security staff was Disney level absolutely perfect it really is the infastructure itself bringing this place down but fir a affordable family vacaction it will not disappoint it is centrally located to Idrive and has a ITrolley stop right in front.

the stay started off with extra fees separate from the ones we prepaid through Trip advisor. The first room that we stayed in was horrible, the sink was broken, the bathtub was clogged up, there was no fan in the bathroom and the couch was flat out disgusting. The second day we were moved to a better room that had a nicer view of the CiCi's pizza across the street but unfortunately for us, the air conditioner in the room didn't blow colder than 70 degrees which is not cool enough for me. Overall the experience wasn't terrible though because we didn't use the pool or the water resort at all we just used the hotel for a great deal on a room in a great location. I would not recommend Coco key if you have options but its better than nothing!

The bathroom didn't work. The toilet didn't flush, shower didn't stop running and paint was peeling in the bathroom. I paid for my room to be next to the water park and it was no where near the water park. I had to use my inhaler twice just to get to the water park.

They had the nerve to hold a deposit and My room had roaches! Enough said. Never ever again

Nice simple motel in the middle of Key West. Check-in was pleasant and quick. The rooms are clean but simple. In the morning there was a small breakfast that could be taken directly at the pool. I can recommend this location without any problems.

We fled New Smyrna from Hurricane Matthew to this resort and found it to be fantastic!!

So much to do. Amazing water park and great updated video game arcade that is open til 1am. Lots of fun to be had here and the minor quirks listed by other reviewers should be quickly overlooked.

It's so unique and fun that it should not be on the hotel rating star system. We will return bi annually.

PLEASE READ!!! and save yourself traveling pain this place is nothing like online makes it out to be this has been the worse 3days ever and the staff SUCK mostly the front desk and housekeeping they charge $12.99 for breakfast for adults and $4.99 for kids even my 1yr old paid a he never ate anything. I was offered a upgrade to my room to have a late check out at 2pm which I made plans for and to get here and find out that the upgrade offer that they emailed me was denied at checkin which set me back. I take my family on vacation at least twice a year and this has been the worse vacation ever for me and my family of 6 I left 1 star because of the waterpark was cool but THATS IT!!! I will not recommend this place to anyone they are not family friendly at all. Now I'm going to check out this HELL HOLE!!! Good luck

Ok and I m writing a 2nd review due to the fact it s our last day here and it s check out time in a few hours and why the heck would they be knocking at our door at 915 to see if we were gone WE HAVE TIL 11am!!!!!!!!! NEVER EVER EVER again and I definitely do NOT recommend for my friends or family!!! Staff was great don t get me wrong the 1 time we saw them when we checked in! When they walked by u they never said hi or anything. This was our worse trip to Orlando

This place is a great place to stay if you are asking for bed bugs and money out of your pocket! This motel like hotel is kind of like a riged prize game, it took 30 minutes to get into our room because the lock was busted. Moldy sheets, stained mattress, horrible smelling rooms, this place looks like a old motel from a horror movie! After only a hour of being here, we were through but they refused refunds. I do not recommend this hell hole nor will I ever come back. Expensive too.

Good for families but avoid the peak time. Not luxurious rooms.

IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BOOKING: they hit you with a car parking fee of 10$ per day, we are forced to pay for the water park even though we didn t want to use it and if you check in early it another fee up to 30$. The rooms are very dusty. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING THERE.

If you are thinking of staying at this hotel (motel) please read. I read the reviews before choosing this hotel (motel). I wish I would have listened to the reviews. I just thought people were being mean, now I know they weren t! I typically don t leave reviews but truly want people to know how horrible our experience was.
We arrived after a long day of travel. The lobby should have been my first warning. We get checked in, drive to our room, which is not a hotel, the rooms were outside like a motel. We entered the room and I can t even describe how bad it smelled! It was terrible! Extremely strong moldy smell! The entertainment center was molding and falling apart the mini-fridge was dirty, I took pictures! We called down to the front desk, I told them how bad the smell was.... they didn t seem surprised. So they moved us to another room. This time it was in the tower. We entered the room the smell wasn t near as bad they had just recently painted. We walked to the window to open the blinds and the windows had mold all around them! I was shocked. I then walked into the bathroom where the bathtub had mold all around it, the vanity looked like it had never been cleaned (I have pictures) pieces are falling apart. We had to sleep in a room with visible mold! We once again told them. They wanted to move us again! My husband walked to the room they wanted to move us to with the head of housekeeping and mold was also in the windows in the new room. I m not talking just a little mold... a lot of mold! The 3 rooms we saw (me 2 my husband 3) were all disgusting! They finally moved us a third time! What a Huge inconvenience for me and my family!
The rooms look NOTHING like the pictures online. The first time I went downstairs to move rooms another woman was also being moved because of her disgusting room. I later talked to her and she said the same thing happened to her. I heard another family talking with the same issues. No one is trying to be mean. But the rooms are absolutely disgusting! I will post pictures. I would not recommend this hotel (motel) take my word and go someplace else! I don t know how they haven t been shut down.

Very disappointing. The hotel room smelled like wet laundry, was not very clean, and the walls are so thin, you can hear the conversation in the next room. Glad I didn't pay extra for the water park because there was not enough staff to keep everything open. Every hour a part of the park was closed and the staff would move to a different section for an hour. Some of the areas were not open at all. The arcade is open until 1am but the redemption counter closes at 9 so you can't redeem tickets after that. There is no sign saying this so we searched for the worker for close to an hour because we were leaving early in the morning and wouldn't have been able to go back.

I'm entering today, July 4th. I've been waiting for more than an hour to check-in, too slow. Bad organization!

Was ok had to move rooms because it was smelly and air didnt work. But overall comfy stay great location. Towels had stains.

Best rooms for your money in the area. Not perfect but it's right in the middle of all entertainment in the Orlando area

It's a very old building that needs some work. The water park is small. The pool is fine lots of room, bar is nice, two different but connected restaurants. Front lobby has a rental car counter and the staff is friendly.

Wasn t that nice . Not allowed to bring food to tables or drinks once inside . They check bags like for food like there a warden. Wasn t worth the money. Nothing like the picture.

Hello i had book a reservation for the wrong date so I was trying to change my date for this weekend Friday2/22 and Saturday2/23 until I spoke with front desk and Orlando Florida customer service experience was horrible I have been going to Coco keys for many years with great experience but this time change whole plans I don t know who I spoke with but there name start with m very very rude so me and my family will be traveling else where.

My daughter and her school had a field trip and they booked this hotel. My daughter called to tell me that there were bugs in the bed and cockroaches in the tub. She said the bathroom was disgusting and the bed sheets had red stains on it. She sent me pictures and it was disgusting..The rug also had red stains on them. I reached out to the front desk and they were nice, but they delivered more sheets with stains. My daughter was so scared to sleep in the bed and I felt helpless because I couldn't do anything more at that time. I will be sharing these photos to someone who would listen. Do not book this hotel because they are disgusting...

I love my room in the tower..it's really nice and I haven't seen anything but good things...off to the hot tub!!!

me and my family had a blast didn't spend much time around the pool only the 1st and last day I was in coco keys

Insects in bathtub; chipped toilet seat; clogged sink and bathtub (oil residue floats when you run water in bathtub); gum stuck on bedcover.

Cheap motel feel, overcrowded pool area & lack of attention from lifeguards, never felt clean...even after bathing. Always wore sandals like you see in jail movies. Won't return.

Horrible hotel if I could it a minus I would the toilet didn t it was clogged and they discussed fix it if you have the opportunity go somewhere else i truly don t recommend it horrible horrible and the service was horrible everything about it was horrible!!!!

Toilet and shower overflowed! Housekeeper said was coming at 1pm to clean and had to call at 5pm to clean room. Had to argue with attendant to give my visitors a discounted bracelet. Plus half of the water park for the kids was closed for reconstruction which i was not told about when i purchased the tickets. BAD EXPERIENCE!!!

I go there every year, is a very fun place for the kids, very cool staff

The water park is amazing. The pools have hair in them. When I say that I mean you can find clumps and pieces of things easly. The bedrooms are good. Although the bathroom is nice the large towels ate limited. Aswell as the floor is not too clean, but what was I going to expect with a bathroom.

It was alright. Room smelled a bit like mildew. TV didn't work but they brought a new one quickly. I didn't like the fact that they made us pay for the Water park which when we called the day before they said it would be open then it was closed. They didn't want to give us our money back. I was awoken at 8 am by some construction work which after we complained they said started at 10. It's a cute, low budget place to stay with kids. Wasn't the best experience for us.

The pool is amazing.. it's like a home away from home.. it's closeness to the amusement park, makes it entertaining for the kids.

My family and I went last weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Youness! Our room was nice and clean and I loved the vanity. We spent most of our time at the water park which was blast! I definitely would recommend it for a weekend getaway with the kids.

It was a decent sized room and very clean, they gave us passes for the water park that we unfortunately did not have time to use.

Super Family friendly, with free entry to Water Park!

This place has a beautiful pool and hot tub, and the service is nice and friendly. They also have a water park in the back with an arcade and the scenic plants are beautiful! I would recommend this to anyone who cant afford the Universal resorts

It needed an update. A couple of the sides are closed in the water park and the lockers were not working. Other than that, my family and I had fun.

1.No, just no.
2. Front desk staff - Not warm or friendly. Rather curt, but efficient I suppose.
3. Surrounding grounds - Honestly scary. Very run down, looking. It s the old no balcony, all the doors facing out old motel. Kind of sad for the newer hotels down the road to have this eye sore there. It does look like the windows MAY have been replaced sometime in the last decade.
4.- Interior of lobby and lounge areas. - Has the look of a pediatric office with the hard purple office furniture and all. I also noted the ceiling sagging and falling behind check in counter.

Price not so great but they make up for it with other things

Horrible, checking time was 4 pm, my room wasn't ready until 7:30 pm. Also the water park and the pool closed way early than was supposed. Most of the arcade machines was out of order.

Nasty and dirty. The room I booked was given to someone else. The room that we were given was so dirty my son's feet were black. The fridge didn't work and the tv was missing. The room looked like someone broke into. It doesn't even deserve a star. Do go by the picture on their website because they probably from when they first opened. We felt the next morning. Full refund.

This was our second year staying at this Waterpark Resort and we enjoyed ourselves. However, the Holiday Inn Express which is right next door has better rooms and free breakfast buffet.

A fab, friendly hotel with a great water park. The hotel offers everything you need for your stay. It's clean and tidy with no frills. Great location and would stay here again.

Nice clean place however isnt exclusive to guests which i think is a bit of a let down

The whole family loved this place. Stayed here because we had SeaWorld and Aquatica tickets. Kids loved the water park here. Especially after a day of waiting in lines at Aquatica. I would defiantly stay here again. The rooms were ok but I'm not it my room enough to care about it, they were clean and we had clean towels. Water park has 3 different sections plus tiki bar by the pool and slides so you can still keep a eye on the kids while having a drink.

Everything was great until our last night. Dude legit got into the pool and started scrubbing mildew off of it while people where in the pool. I spoke with the manager the about 4 hours after i request to. She just yupped me and said she was sorry. Well my sons face had chemical burn on it, he was right in the area where it was, my other one when i put aloe on him was screaming bloody murder and didnt even look to have a burn ope and my 20 month old started vomiting, then my 4 yr old had to go to the e.r. for how bad he was. All the lady cared about was me writing a report. I sent in a letter when requested and not one response. Actually they wont even answer my calls now. My kids all got sick, all ended up with some funky stuff on their body and not one care. If i dont get an answer soon on where my deposit and what yall plan on doing to accommodate your employees stupidy ill be coming in and speaking with a laywer prior thanks for caring less.

The rooms are super small nothing to do with the photos they show on the internet. Reserve for 5 people and only 4 can enter the water park .. The pool closes at 7:00 pm the ice machine does not work, so far the only thing Good has been the water park.

We were so busy at universal studios we didn't get time to enjoy this place but it looked like fun. When planning a trip you should plan some time at this hotel otherwise it's better if you stay somewhere cheaper. The lightning stopped us from being able to swim on the only day we had available to spend at our hotel lol.

The carpets in our room we're still damp from the steam cleaning they had done prior to us receiving our keys to our room. Are mini fridge door was broken and did not seal properly show the refrigerator was running constantly and water was dripping out of it constantly. It was extremely difficult to turn the shower water completely off because the handle was broken. And our room was connected two a room of younger people that war up screaming and partying all night long. After several calls to the front desk with no resolution we soon realized that we would have to switch hotels in order to be able to rest peacefully on our vacation so we did. The best part was the water park and the lifeguards in some instances seemed very uninterested in their jobs

Our first family vacation a success thanks to CoCo Key

Will not recommend this hotel to anyone. I called a week before I came just to check and see if my reservation included the water park and shuttle and I was told by 3 different people yes and no. I arrived at the hotel room wasn't ready they called me to tell me it was ready and still took 30mins to get checked in. Oh yeah then there was unexpected crazy "reservation" fees and security deposit that I was suppose to get back and didn't. All of sudden they couldn't find any proof of my payment! Also the people out front who's trying to sell you park tickets are scams they told me free breakfast and free ride to the park just to see a tour at another hotel and I get there and the people was clueless why I was there. I was not satisfied and a manager still haven't contacted me!! One star was for the friendly cafe workers, life guards and house keepers!!

Had my daughters 10th birthday here. The room was beautiful. And the on site water park kept the kids entertained all weekend. Great place.

Well the breakfast buffet very rich and cheap, the swimming pools and comfortable rooms the good service. I found him 1 detail, that's why I do not give him 5 .

We stayed at Disney All Star Resort, which was horrible. We wanted to extend our Disney trip and go to a Water park but it was supposed to rain. I didn't want to pay the $250 Water park tickets and it thunder, so I found this place to hang out and check on the weather the next day.

We ended up not even going to the water park because this was perfect enough. My kids didn't even have to wait in lines in the hot sun, and I didn't have to lug a heavy tube up flights of steps all day. My kids got their slides and I got relaxation. After 4 days in Disney parks, I couldn't take anymore lines.

The rooms are going through renovations. I had one that wasn't renovated yet, and it was fine. I only paid $70 for the night and water park, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz. The beds are comfy enough (waaaay better than All Stars) and they are pretty spacious.
The bar and pool are open till 10p and the arcade is open until 1am. There is another bar by the water park.
Staff are friendly too.
My kids are happy and so is my pocket.
Money well spent!
