This zoo has a pretty good incline the entire time. The path throughout the zoo was not labeled very well. Ski lift to the top is neat but leads to nothing. Staff was very attentive. The gorillas and giraffes were pretty cool but otherwise I've been to better zoos.

Zoo lights were a fun evening. Parking/shuttle arrangements made it less hassle than some other zoos (Denver!). More animals to see than Denver's, but less lights and no music. Good to see the 'other' Holiday lights in Colorado.

Fun for everyone! Tons to see and my kids luv interacting with the animals when they can. I think their favorite part was feeding giraffes and the statue that sprays water on you. It was extremely hot when we went but they had large fans that misted water as well to help keep everyone cool. The lift was super neat to go on and see everything from above and my kids thought the wall climb was awesome! The zoo itself is on an incline so I definitely suggest comfortable shoes & if you have mobility issues bring a wheelchair or call them beforehand to make sure other arrangements are available. You will get your exercise here! They had some exhibits closed when I went die to remodeling, can t wait to see what they change!

Veterans discount admission was 16.75. It was a fairly busy day, but i was able to find parking bc a sleet storm cleared some families out. Parking was free.
The zoo is on the side of a the mountain and is laid out in layers sort of like going up a switchback trails. its all ADA, but pushing a wheel chair or hauling a wagon up to the top would be daunting. you can pay a shuttle fee of 2$ to be carted from area to area, i imagine its worth it if you have trouble getting around. I got there around noon so i was hungry and quickly realized it was a field trip day, so i sat myself at the pizza place after i overheard a chaperone saying they were leaving at 1. the view is nice and they serve beer but you cant leave the premises with it. They werent very busy but the 10 inch pizza took a full half hour and was similar to chuck e cheese, way over priced (15$) and not worth the wait (pic), and when i tried to customize my pizza i was met with strange apprehension and redirection from the clerk, so i just kept it simple. Maybe next time ill try Grizzly Grill if its not overrun by disruptive and unattended school kids. anyhow, the exhibits are fairly nice and i really liked most of the interpretive panels. I didnt catch any keeper talks, but they have a schedule availble on the website. It only took me about 1.5 hrs to get thru the whole zoo and see most* everything. Lots of stuff is under construction and i think the new exhibits will be really nice, so ill probably return when they are completed. The primate house had good viewing but has a very distinct and strong odor. You can feed the giraffes which is pretty neat. Overall its an ok little zoo.

This zoo offers visitors several up close experiences with the animals. For example, you can walk with the wallabys (penguin exhibit coming soon), the peacocks roam free in the entire zoo (mostly hanging out near the picnic area), and you can feed birds, elephants, giraffes, and more. The "my big backyard" exhibit has chickens, koi, rabbits, and other animals that people find near their homes (typically not in a zoo).

The views from the mountain are spectacular, but be prepared for steep hills. They have a golf cart type shuttle that will take you around for an extra charge. Get there early in the morning or you will have to wait to park (sometimes an hour or more just to get to the parking lot!).

The animal enclosures are set in such a way that even when the animals are lounging or sleeping, visitors can see them. I've been to other zoos where the animals always seem to be hiding, but that's not the case here.

We bought a membership and it has definitely been worth the cost. Each time we visit, we see something new or different (it's hard to see everything in one trip).

There are plenty of food options, but it can get expensive. You can pack a picnic, however, and enjoy a view of Colorado Springs from their outdoor picnic tables next to the carousel.

Overall, this is a great zoo and fun for animal lovers of all ages.

Loved this Zoo! Loved petting and feeding the Giraffe's. Lots of animals to see here, the grizzly bears were great. The view out from Cheyenne Mountain is awesome. Great place to visit my family loved it, will definitely have to visit again.

The 2 times I went here multiple animals were pacing back and forth. It really is sad there's no outside time or activities even for non dangerous animals here...they are clearly suffering. It also smells terrible in certain indoor exhibits. Ive been to many zoos and that is not normal.

This place is absolutely goregous! This is the only zoo that is evelated on a mountain at 6,714 ft. It was currently under construction.
The hippos are currently in another zoo while
They make a new habitat for them. I am so excited to bring my girls back this summer! One of a kind Zoo

This zoo was much smaller than I imagined but when I say it was the BEST zoo I've ever been to, I mean it. We don't have zoo's with most of these animals in Wisconsin/Minnesota. I got to feed the giraffes (only $3 for one person or $5 for two - WORTH IT), caught a super cool video of an elephant, and the lions were my favorite by far!! I absolutely loved it!!

It is the most beautiful and interactive zoo my family has visited. We were able to feed the giraffes as well as the elephant. We held a snake and pet a skunk. My daughter even rode a horse. It is on a mountain so it has an amazing view of Colorado Springs. We could spend all day there.

This Zoo is VERY expensive. I understand why once I got in. You can feed the Elephants and the Giraffes. That cost too! Not many species. But a good day. The helpers are not to help or smile. The only friendly one we found was in the Wallaby exhibit. Lovely blond young girl. Wish I could remember her name. I have a picture. I would post it. My granddaughter is with her. I m not suppose to post her.

This zoo is basically built on a mountain, which makes it a very unique place. Overall, I had a lot more fun that I thought I would at a zoo, and got to see a lot of cool animals up close.

Very overrated. Denver Zoo is WAY better! Much smaller than expected, of the few animals that were there, many were pacing the gates and looked so sad or out of view. Best part was feeding the giraffes ($5 for TWO pieces of lettuce) and petting the wallabies. Sky ride was shut down right after we purchased tickets due to potential lightning. Lots of dead ends and backtracking. No paper maps available anymore, which made it super frustrating to navigate. We drove 2 hours to only stay for 2 hours... pretty disappointed. Overpriced.

A must for any family in the area. This zoo is very interactive. From feeding the giraffes to walking among the penguins and marveling at the spectacular views of Colorado Springs, you'll never be bored exploring here! My recommendation is to go in the morning while the temperature is lower, and if you're still there by lunch, enjoy their pizza or bbq. Enjoy this pic of the porcupine looking derpy--he may stink but is sure cute!

We came a long way so my husband could live his dream of petting a giraffe. It was well worth it. I was very surprised at how beautiful this zoo actually is. The giraffes were so fun and friendly but the entire zoo was amazing. This zoo has so many interactive places inside. We even got to see the wolves feeding. Just when you think it cant get better, you ride up the side of the mountain on a ski lift and see animals below. At the top is a look out point and the ride down is even better with views from the side of the mountain all the way down to the small town below. Super friendly staff and some yummy food are all just icing on the cake. You will love Cheyenne Mountain Zoo whether you are a family with little ones; or just a kid at heart.I recommend the gift shop as well, so many fun gifts.

We really enjoyed this zoo. Built on the side of a mountain so a lot of hills to climb. But we are in good shape and it didn't bother us. Giraffes where a blast, you can feed them and they come really close to you to take a bite. Also saw quite a few animal experts just sitting outside in various places with a small animal next to them explaining everything about the animal and answering questions. Really nice nice!

Just took off one star because some habitats looked small for the animal in them. Made us a little bit sad. Especially considering some of the other habitats for other animals seemed very large.

But all in all a really nice place to visit. Beautiful animals. Beautiful views. Friendly people.

Is pretty easy to get around; I loved feeding the Giraffes and Elephant. The changes that have been made are great!! The fans that sprayed a mist are a good addition. They helped a lot since was so hot. A lot to see and do. It is accessible for all.

This zoo was the best zoo I have been too. Definitely smaller than others but significantly more interactive. Took a friend here while she was visiting Colorado and we both loved it. Feeding the giraffes was a unique experience that I can't wait to have again! Definitely going back once the penguins are set up!
