Great place for kids and family. Summer is overcrowded with tourists, so i would say that end of September is the best for visiting. You need like 2 hours at least to see all animals, and probably you will spend most of it watching the monkeys. There are some restaurants and coffee shop if you want to take a break from animals and enjoy in beautiful view on Colorado Springs.Great animals, some of them are really rare to see. Monkeys are really fun as usual. Tickets are not that expensive, and definitely worth the money comparing with some other zoos in USA.

I am a steel worker here at the zoo doing the hippo and penguin exhibit, and at lunch we walk the zoo. The staff at the zoo are fantastic, helpful and amazing with the people and the animals. This zoo should be rated #1. Thank you Cheyenne zoo staff

Best zoo I've been to. The giraffes are amazing and you can even feed them. They have various animal shows, a lot of close encounters and different animals you can feed. It is a lot of downhill and uphill walking but you get some beautiful views of the city below. Only con is it can get pricey depending what all you do.

I rate a zoo based on the extras besides just the animals. This zoo for sure has a great X factor of being part the way up a moutain so the views are wonderful. If you follow the markers there is a wonderful flow to the zoo that has you see new animals, then a kids area, then somewhere for a snack. The exhibits were nothing special but they don't need to be in my impression.

Sidenote: Setup a ride before hand. It was hard to find a ride back. In fact I had to ask for help and this wonderful lady with beautiful eyes who was working the gate was exactly what I needed! (Friendly staff over all)

Not the largest zoo in the world, but the unique layout is fun. Personally, my favorite feature is the Australian section, where wallabys can freely roam around the guests. The "Loft" is also pretty cool, with a rotating selection of animals that are right at eye level for kids.

A must-see in CO. Cheyenne Zoo is not the biggest zoo you can see, but it's so well maintained (and I would say cozy) that worth the visit. It's not exactly cheap and if you want to give some lettuce to the giraffes you will need to pay extra for that (definitely a highlight!) but if you like animals of if you have kids, you should spend some 4 hours in there!

Absolutely LOVE this zoo. Feels so much more natural than a typical zoo so I did not feel guilty visiting. The animals are well taken care of, the enclosures are nicely maintained, and the views are breath taking up in the mountains. I will definitely be back during the summer when the new penguin and hippo exhibit open!

If you see one zoo on a trip, make it this zoo! I have been to A LOT of zoos and this was THE BEST! Very interactive. The famous giraffe exhibit was, obviously, the highlight (you can feed them!) but every exhibit was very good. Very well kept, clean, and the staff was eager to talk about the animals. They had a rhino feeding event while we were there and the elephants are very active also. You can also pet the wallabys! The enclosure is a walk-through they they will come right up to you.

My girlfriend and I spent a few spare hours here while we were in town. It was a great time. If you don't like walking or don't have a few hours to spend it's probably not the best.

Amazingly, you get the experience of being up close and personal with a lot of the animals and can even feed many of them. We kept going back and feeding the giraffes. At certain times you can also feed the rhino, elephants, and goats. Of course this is an extra expense and you need cash, but there's an atm.

There's bathrooms throughout, it's clean, and you can but water or snacks on the way. Careful though, because those will be pretty expensive as expected.

Definitely worth the trip and the money. Take your time and enjoy the views and the animals.

A great zoo to visit. Lots of different animals you can pay to feed. Beautiful mountain views. However, a lot of the exhibits seemed small, and the elephants are kept in a bleak concrete enclosure. I hope the Cheyenne mountain zoo puts more time and money into expanding their enrichment and enclosures

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is awesome. The chairlift is unique and gives you a great view of Colorado Springs on the way back down. They have lots of animals. Their Giraffe exhibit is a stand out but all of the Africa section is really. A great way to spend the day.

This is such an unique zoo to visit. Our family has kept going back since I was a kid. They are always trying to remain the best zoo in USA. Just be sure you plan to spend half the day here and are ready to walk, this place is not for those that have trouble walking.

Fun for the kids. They especially love the giraffes and elephants. The zoo has done a lot of renovations over the past few years which have really improved the quality. The electric safari is a holiday favorite.

Great zoo with large, well maintained structures for the animals. It has become way way overpriced And not very easy to navigate with a handicap. For this reason we'll probably continue with the Denver zop in the future. But the zookeepers do seem to truly care about the animals.

We had a great time with our family here. It was crowded on a Thursday, which I did not expect. I am used to St Louis zoo being free so the admission was a little pricey at $19 for adults and $14 for kids. But it is beautiful. You get up close with several animals. We really enjoyed some time with a sloth! We feed the giraffes. We watched a grizzly bear enjoy the water. The overhead tram was fun with excellent views. The food was a little high but very good. We ate at Pizza with a View. Parking was convenient and free. The facility is on multiple levels so be ready to hike! Really good time, very glad we went.

It is a great place to on a date, with tye kids, in a group, or even alone! The restaurant is good and adult beverages also available. Lots of animals to see, you also have a chance to feed some of them! In warm weather some of the statues squirt water. The sky lift is so much fun! I cant wait for this summer to go back and visit again!

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! We were barely spoken to during admission and we're handed 10 pieces of metal without being told what they were for. Then we saw MAYBE a handful of animals, including the lion enclosure with broken glass! We decided to let the kids play in the treehouse, but they couldn't because the electricity was out. So if you're looking to spend over 100$ for an awful experience, this is your place.

Although the tickets are pricy and it prevents me from going, on I'd say twice a year, its still a wicked awesome environment. Not to mention its located in a mountain so its just drop dead gorgeous. From the many paths, to the petting zoo, right down to the restaurant there is no disappointment.
