Great fun day out! Stayed after dark for the 'Howloween' event, made everything better riding in the dark. Park could do with some proper maintenance over the winter though; little bits and pieces all over the place not working i.e. speakers on rides not playing any sound, bits that should move in the scenery don't, things generally look a bit tired etc. Things like these are the only bits that let the place down!

Too many attractions were closed down which made the queues for the open things insanely long and not worth it. I expected more for younger children but was very very little. Wouldn't go again

As you would expect it is a loud and busy place. I would recommend to visit it on a week day outside a school holiday session to minimise wait times or buy a priority access to jump super long and slow queues. Food offering is much below average. Roller Coasters are fun even for an adult, the best is probably "VAMPIRE" that is not as brutal and scary as "DRAGON'S FURY".

Beautiful hotel and restaurant manager was such a lovely person. All staff were very helpful. Plenty of parking in a very nice part of South London. Good access to central London and the motorway network.

Its a great place for a day out we went there for my daughters 3rd birthday and she absolutely loved it. The sea lions were by far her favourite of the animals and the rides she could go on she really enjoyed. I do have some issues which I More

Great place for the family. The low score is due to the poor location of the disability hire station. You'd expect it to be nearby but it's a fair walk if you're unable to walk far. Plenty of eateries and drink stations

Fun family day out, especially with younger kids who will especially enjoy the safari. They'll also love the new experience "Room on the Broom" which is an immersive, walk through based on the children's story book of the same name.
There are some big rides for older kids but I tend to feel Chessington is targeted at a more mixed age group while Thorpe Park in Chertsey is better for a group of only older kids.
The park is themed with different zones and is well kept. Plenty of food options although they are all "& chips"
It's a nice park to walk around - as a season card holder I enjoy just going up there for a walk and to enjoy the atmosphere.
Only downside is that if it rains or is windy they have to shut the big rides - if it rains consistently (I think for 2 hours) you get a "rainy day pass" however this does have restrictions on it and it doesn't carry over your fast pass. They don't do a windy day pass - it's just tough luck if the rides shut because of wind.
My advice would be to check the weather forecast thoroughly before you buy tickets!

Just got back from an overnight stay doing the santa sleepover winters trail. We had a brilliant time for my son's birthday. The room we stayed in (monkey temple) felt and looked clean. The food was good but a little expensive for what you More

The theme park is alright. But the carpark layout is just BAD! 3rd times here and its not getting any better. We are Merlin passholders and this is the worst carpark. Left at 5pm and stucked in carpark waiting for exit for 1hr30mins JUST TO GET OUT of the carpark. The layout is bad, people are just walking into the carpark in unsafe manner and a barbaric women used her hand to knock at our car when she and her daughter walked unsafety into the carpark with all the cars lining to exit the carpark because there s not enough space for her to cross!
Are the management doing something to improve the situation?

Best amusement park especially for kids between 4-12yrs old. If you plan it properly you should be able to do all rides within a day. Install the app as it will show you live waiting time. The new tiger enclosure is really good.

I went here on a school trip roughly 4 to 5 months ago, and the rides were all great (at least the safer ones I went on) and I even got two stuffed animals from claw machines in one go. The only complaint I have was the closure of ice cream stands (I think that's what they were) during the entire trip. It was disappointing but I managed to enjoy my time there. Got lost once but found my bus.

Went with school recently. Great place to go. Excellent rides for young and older children. What surprised me most is the amount of places you can eat. I wished that I had not brought my bag of goodies as it was weighing me down the whole day. Next time I'll just carry my purse.

My son and I love Chessington, we haven't been for a couple of years but we really enjoyed our day here for his birthday. A lovely day the queues could be quite long at times but they weren't as bad as the signs said. Love the gruffolo ride it is a good substitute for bubble works. Tiger rock is good also love the new theme for this. The car parking is one of the cheaper for Merlin's theme parks but this maybe due to the fact your in a field. We were both a bit disappointed with vampire felt very jerky and quite painful very different from my memory and our recent rides in swarm. We now prefer dragons fury. Great day and open to 8pm due to Halloween.

Social distancing was poor and not really enforced masks were not enforced. We only came as it was advertised as 60% so presumed it quieter and safer no such luck and struggling to believe those claims. Queues were shut as at capacity? Very unsafe and not Covid compliant. Will not return, unfortunate as many family holidays here.

Sadly not a patch on the other theme parks. Signage around the park is very poor, we struggled to find what we wanted.

We walked down to a little zoo village which was in very poor repair, needs a huge revamp.

Everything seemed so far away from each other and for the less mobile it's quite a workout getting around compared to the other parks.

The staff were friendly and it was kept nice and clean.

Our day was ruined by exceptionally long waits for the rides, it can't be helped I know but it did ruin the day somewhat.

Unlikely we will make a return visit before new rides and a major face lift

Kids loved the mixture of it being a zoo to see the animals and the thrill of the theme park with the rides! Mix in with the hotel and its well worth it. We ate out everytime we were there maybe it would be better for me to get a pass and you get a 20 percent discount on food. During the week there were no long queues.

Would recommend a day out here

Theme park was good as always but our hotel stay was not as pleasant as we would like. I was unable to get into my hotel room for 4 hours after a long day in the theme park from 11-6. My room key didn't work no matter what the reception staff tried so instead of just giving me another room I was told to hang on someone would deal with it then I was sent to dinner at there restaurant that I had already booked so I had to still pay for my meal after this inconvenience. I had a tired teenager and an unwell 8 month old baby with a temperature, tired sweaty and just wanted to get into my room. I did not get into my room until after 10pm with reception staff letting me in with there master key so I would not be able to quickly leave the room for any reason if I wanted too as I'd have been locked out.
There was no manager to speak to during that time so I had to wait until the following day. So due to staffs lapsey daisy attitude to me not being about to get into my room an the lack of urgency to accommodate me I doubt very much I'd stay at the resort hotel again.

You have to pay to book, even as a pass holder.. but thought it would be safe because they were limiting booking but it was the one of the busiest times I've been with 90 min queues and vampire was only for hotel guests

went wed 5th August 20 ...was really surprised how many people were in park ...but from the carpark to the rides the whole place was extremely well organised ...the youngsters manning the rides and drink stations were so polite and well mannered well done ...we had a brilliant day ..be prepared to stand in very long queues ..!!! but its so worth it ..thankyou chessington ..see you next year !

Overall I think I could have spent my money better elsewhere. The rooms are egregiously overpriced. The park was not that clean. A lot of the staff was lazy and complained about having to do things. If you stay at the resort, you are able to get into the park an hour early. That would be great, except the staff doesn't have even the limited rides that are open early, ready on time. Some of the food is great, some is not that good, but either way it is incredibly overpriced(except the donuts, they are worth it). The park had some great rides and features, and was probably worth the one time visit. I would not recommend staying at the resort though.

What a great place for adults and children :-) My wife and I recently came here with my little girl (for her 10th birthday), and our son (aged 4) and had the most amazing time.. We stayed in the hotel on site, and the we took the children to the little splash park, and we had to awesome 2 days in the park.. The team at Chessington throughout were so helpful and positive, and there was so much to do for all of us, we all loved the Vampire ride, and my little girl and I loved Dragon's Fury place and such a great team

Pricey but brilliant. Arrive early 0930 and get on your favourite ride first. Tends to get quieter after 1500 too. Lots of less busy rides and things like the zoo/sea life centre to get you though the crazy middle of the day. Take a picnic!!

Was looking forward to a day out with the kids and it was a nightmare as soon as we arrived. It took an hour and a half just to get into the park. Waited 80 minutes for most rides so only ended going on 4 in total. There was no social distancing at all. I feel if they had a limited number of people allowed in the park and a book online system then it would have been a great day. Just seemed to packed and didnt get enough for our money. Very dissapointed kids.

Great for the younger child. Lots of non-scary rides and the wait times were very reasonable.
The animals are magnificent, definitely the highlight for us. The shows are well put together.
We ate at the Smokehouse, and whilst there was plenty of food, it was a bit fatty and over cooked.
We have another day tomorrow when we are looking forward to the Zufari, petting zoo and more rides.

If you enjoy queuing then this is the place for you.

Every ride has a huge queue which is made worse by their fast pass system (which is a corporate way of saying pay to push in). This system causes the main queue to wait until all fast pass people have been processed. This means a queue which should only last 20 minutes is made to wait over an hour. In most cases the rides would be made up of 90% fast pass queue jumpers and 10% normal paying guests.

However If you are happy to pay per ride to push in on top of your entrance fee then a grate day can be had.

Close to home, loads to do with the kids, even on a rainy miserable day, we still had smiles on our faces. The zoo is great and the rides...although old and a bit slow...still fun when spent with family and friends

It's a lovely day out if it's not busy. Make sure to take socks for children in the soft play as it doesn't say anything on the website so I had to very distraught little girls who couldn't really do much with the day as the one thing they wanted do you must have socks and they do not have spares

Park is excellent and rides are good for the kids but main problem is signs they are not clearly mentioned which ride is where to guide visitors correctly. They they do that then it's 5 experience for kids and adults as well

It was a clean hotel with a lot more going on. Was nice to sit eating the not so great breakfast while watching giraffes but that was about the extent of it. Might be a better experience whilst using the park but quite dull as a hotel.

Great service when arrived. Hotel was clean and well laid out. Room was good size and the food at the zafari bar and grill was excellent! Only thing as a draw back is room service would have been great to have but otherwise a great experience

Too many people in the park to be safe. Measures are well thought out, but not policed. Bit of a cheek to call it a zoo.. Once again I saw a grand total of one lion and lots of empty enclosures.

Great day out. Will be going again this summer, as we didn't have time to do not all. Ques were long at the beginning of summer so have food and things to do for younger kids. My son had his first big coaster ride on the vampire and loved it. 7 years.

It's a theme park what is not too like? Plenty for younger kids too. However please note that really young kids are not even able to ride on the safe zoo lorry rides etc. They do not allow children carried by mothers on rides that seemed safe enough to me. I mean if the massive well protected lorry that drives you round the rhino pens etc was to spill everyone onto the zoo grounds them everyone would be in just as much danger as a babe in arms or toddler on your lap! On the whole tho, GREAT FUN

There are long queues for everything. All the rides had a minimum wait of 30 min. being the worst 1h 40min wait. Very expensive if you consider the few rides you can get on.
If it is a one off, I would recommend the fast track.

We booked a two day pass. Rides constantly broke down and queues were over three hours. Second day, we managed one ride after a three hour wait. Chessington allowed too many people, it was utter chaos. Stalls with "fairground" games are expensive and a con, but the kids get so bored not being able to go on rides they want to have a go. Sealife aquarium was OK. Won't be going back, if I could give zero stars I would!

First ever visit to Chessington and was a little disappointed, only two rides working and ques were unbelievable. And half the animals where locked away due to weather.
I'm not blaming the weather on the zoo but paid alot of money for a family to barely see or do anything

good outdoor activities for the young kids , poor service in a themed hotel. Make sure you booked in advance, at least a day, breakfast, lunch or dinner table, swimming pool etc. We negotiated a table for a dinner, but missed swimming pool for a kids.
