Good atmosphere for kids and lovely views from hotel (at the back). Some places looking a little tired in places tho!

Good theme park, an ideal place for those who want to go for a theme park where there are some great rides, that are not too intense. Loved the roller coasters, especially the Rattlesnake. Only complaint was that some of the queues for the rides were too long, and not managed well.
Absolutely terrible service!!! You couldn t pay me to go to chessington again! Stayed at the hotel and it was very nice. On day one we went to the theme park and spent two hours being passed from person to person trying to get the wrist bands. Which we finally got hold of the next day. Also on the second day because we was in the hotel we was able to go into the theme park an hour before it was open to the public which seems pretty ridiculous because the theme park is open but every think inside it shut. We waited to go on rides and every single time the rides got shut because of technical difficulty. And I am not over exaggerating this was on every single ride, or they was shut without reason. A whole two days spent at the theme park and the children only got to go on the gruffalo ride once. They wanted to go on a train ride but it got shut because one of the big rides had people stuck on it which we could see. The children was 50 ft in the air and was stuck. We spent a whole two days trying to look after bored kids that had absolutely nothing to do!! After trying every single ride possible we gave up and thought we would just go and try get on the safari bus ride, after walking all the way there and waiting, the women said the kids wasn t big enough. At this point we was absolutely drained and to be told they couldn t go on this ride either was a joke, especially after being told it was working properly!! There was a 2 year old behind us and she allowed him to go in even though he was smaller that our kids. I pulled her up on it and she denied it and called me a liar. Because his hair was spiked she said to his dad just quickly go on. At this point my sisters and mum was in tears, I have never experienced anything so bad in all my life. We made a complaint on the first day, and the second day, we then got to speak to management and all he could say was when you book a day at chessington your not 100percent clear to have a go on any rides, your taking your chances!!! Which I thought was outrageous!!! That should be advertised to the public on there website! I saw a couple come all the way from Australia and they actually looked heart broken that they had travelled that whole way and had the same experience we did. I wouldn t recommend any person going to this resort unless your willing to take the chance of not being able to get on more than one ride per day. Absolutely shocking! And not even an apology!
Beautiful warm sunny day, very disappointed that there was only a couple of rides open, & a few animals to see, would definitely advise not to go in February half term, two very disappointed boys.
We stayed one nights/two days and in the resort hotel in a Temple Monkey room. The room was immaculate and the kids enjoyed the hunt for the code for the safe in the room. Our girls are all teenagers and there was just enough room for them all. We had double bed, bunk beds and a trundle bed underneath the bunks. TVs in both rooms, hairdryer iron, ironing board, well equipped tea and coffee making and complimentary shampoo and conditioner. Towels included and the beds were suitably comfy.
Not much if a view from our room 2035 except for some cannibalistic red bird things which make a weird noise in the morning!
The park itself was good but lots of rides shut/not working etc and on the second day the queues were just ridiculous- 120 minutes for Dragon Fury and the fast track tickets weren't use as and when you had to select a time. It was an absolute nightmare.
Not many main big rides to go on really. Safari ride is short and a very very long wait.
Some small water stations (free) dotted about and even a few sunscreen dispensers (free) dotted about.
Breakfast however was a really good selection if food, top tip take your bottles and fill them up for the day! And take your handbag to nab some croissants and fruit for snacks throughout the day.
Splash pool was good, pool was so so, steam room was just lovely, the splash pool is a lot smaller than in the pictures but would be great for little ones with small water cannons, slide and sprays there's also a bit of seating for mums who don't want to swim just watch.
Would overall recommend the place just a few niggles on the day let it down. Maybe more suited to younger kids.
If you fast pass you walk straight on the rides if not expect to wait an hour for the big rides refilling can be a bit slow
Great theme park. Many of the rides are suitable for all ages. Some are restricted for tall people and young.
Nice theme park to visit with a toddler, they'll have a great time here! Make sure you go on a hot summers day. You'll definitely get a good full day, could probably do with more rides, but if you are older you'll probably want to go Thorpe Park. I'd compare this to Legoland (for kids).
Over priced food and drinks, really long queues in sun, tacky rides
Park is fine, parking is a nightmare! Prepare to spend about an hour (yes, really!) waiting to get out of this place at the end of the day whilst every car user has to file out through 2 pay-at-exit gates. What a bloody shambles!
Long queues & Fast track patrons taking priority are the reasons for 3 stars
Visited back in September. Even in late summer we all had fun. The prices for the food onsite was expensive, but as it's not a regular thing, it was expected.
Large but when i went there at february many things were closed
Excellent customer service. Bit of an issue with the room initially, but reception staff sorted very quickly. Staff very kind and helpful. Evening entertainment was good, and kids entertainers were fantastic
Fast track is worth it if you book online. Be aware it can be sold out once you arrive and decide to buy the ticket.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable, we stayed in the gruffello suite. Hotel itself very nice both boys had a fantastic time both days at the park. Staff were very friendly and helpful when approached. The only negative thing I can add is both breakfast and evening meal wasnt very nice. The better out of both was at the safari bar and grill were we has breakfast they only had scrambled eggs on offer no fried egg with cooked breakfast which were very runny and apperred to be powdered egg. The evening meal in the temple resturant was a buffet menu all you can eat. We chose the curry and it was cold not wet nice. The kids had fries and nuggets as my son would only eat the nuggets from what else was on offer. I was a bit alarmed that the male staff member when replenishing the fresh nuggets just picked them up bare hands no gloves and dropped them into the serving tray which I dont feel is very hygienic. Apart from that our experience was a good one we would return back. Although we loved the hotel I feel next time we would choose to stay at a premier inn close by as food is off a higher standard than at the hotel but thats the only reason for not returning to hotel. The food outlets at the park for snacks were good choice. I would definitely recommend this theme park as we felt it was one of the best ones we visited and my son is asking already when we can go back there. Special thanks to Jemima and Georgia who assisted with booking, you have a fantastic team of staff both at the hotel and in the park all very pleasant and helpful. We were always greated with a big smile which goes a long way x
As usual car park exit is a nightmare. Otherwise park is improving but not up to international stansards
Nice resort but unfriendly, rude and inconsiderate staff, particularly at Scorpio ride. Stayed in the queue for 20mins but staff kept letting others in not me and my son. When I asked I was told I don't seem to have disability. I was in the wrong queue but I could have been told this earlier. We didn't have time to queue again and requested staff to let us in but they said NO. Spoiled my son's day.
I could only recommend Chessington Movers B And L when it comes to reliable and affordable moving services. I had them twice already and they are outstanding! I am very grateful with the quality of service they provided me.
Waited nearly 3 hours to go on possibly the worst ride, the Rattlesnake. Reason for the wait was because they were only letting two people on at a time. Other rides were fantastic when we got on.
Loads of fun.
We were given the Glamping as a gift for our 3yr old boys.
It was very good, even in the rain.
Much better theme parks with more helpful staff. The rides not worth the queue times. Go elsewhere if you can.
Great theme park for families, visited on a Sunday, ample parking, helpful staff, majority of rides only a short que. Don't forget Chessington offer a free ticket to revisit, if you have rain for more than a hour, check website for details.
Great for family day out need 2 days to have a non rush day
Understandably some attractions closed due to Corona but an additional 9 quid each with standard Merlin passes on a weekend over August which was a suprise.. staff were quite thin on the ground too.
First time so liked the layout and defo kid friendly
Good place for kids but long queues, very expensive..
Staff very friendly food was lovely hard to park though but to be fair it is the school holidays pool was lovely and warm
Quite possibly the best-kept and most smoothly-run theme park here in the UK! The staff were capable, rides were in good working order. Pity queues were so long! But what can you do
I visited Chessington World of Adventures about 20 years ago and thought this would be a wonderful place for the children to go. Sadly my recent visit was extremely disappointing. Dispute booking in advance there were large queues on arrival. This added a further 50 minutes in total. I appreciate that due to Covid measures must be taken and I understand this. The temperature checks actually seemed quite fast and I dont think made a huge delay. The baggage checking did slow the queue somewhat. I would understand the safety measures and if this had been the only complaint for the day would have dismissed it without hesitation.
Once through the queue, before going through the gate, my 8 year old asked to go to the toilet. This was understandable considering the hour long car ride to get here then the nearly hour long wait. We then had to wait a further 25 minutes for her to use the nearest toilets by the entrance. These were so dirty and not well maintained which in these times is not good enough.
I found the park itself to be filled. It made it difficult to maintain social distancing. I had hoped as tickets were booked in advance part of this was to limit numbers so safety could be a high priority. Sadly, this was not so. I will say the markers were good so when queuing people could maintain their distance. On the note of queuing I would then add another 25 minute queue for another toilet stop. One of the toilets had someone be very unwell. A lady informed a member of staff while I started to queue. This had not been dealt with by the time I was leaving. Cleanliness and hygiene should always be important but in these times I think even more so.
The first ride the children wanted to go on was a small circuling pirate ship one. We watched them go and queue. It took 25 minutes for the 1 minute ride. It took another 25 minute ride for the merry-go - round ride. These are not main big rides.
On a positive not we found a green space to sit away from everyone else while we had our packed lunch. We considered buying some doughnuts but the queues for these too were very long so we decided against and this point.
We continued to try and encourage the children to remain positive as they were clearly getting disheartening queuing and waiting. They asked to go on a big ride and I went with them. We walked to the ride and went to join the back of the queue. We were then told by 2 ladies that they wanted to move the queue to the entrance so asked us to go away for 5 minutes. This was completely pointless. The queue just moved to the side as people queued to re queue. The children getting more frustrated. We then queued and followed the distancing while waiting. The gardens surrounding the ride and bridges made this a reasonable experience. While waiting we felt the queue moving and the hour long queue once allowed to queue went reasonably smoothly. The children throughly enjoyed the ride.
We then went to get doughnuts at the nearby stall. There were only three people in front at this time do it seemed a good time to do this. This was sadly very slow and took another 20 minutes. I'm glad we queued when we did though as following this the queue had grown greatly.
By this time we had spent the best part of an hour queuing to enter the park, 25 minutes for a toilet, 25 minutes for a pirate ride and a further 25 for a merry go round. Another 25 for a different toilet and over an hour for a key ride followed by another 20 minute wait for doughnuts. In the best part of 4 and 1/2 hours we had entered the park, gone on 2 family rides lasting total 1 minute and 2 minutes, gone to the toilet twice, been one one main ride and got some doughnuts. 3 rides in this time is not worth the huge cost to enter the park. The children would have got more value for money at a local fair.
I hope this helps someone else.
Had a great family time together. Hotel was very nice to stay in great service and polite staff.
This place is so fun, I had a great day out. The rides are amazing and the food is good. Would definitely come again.
It's a nice day out for the family. But the food is too expensive and the time it takes to get on a ride is ridiculously long. Next time we'll get the fast track pass and take sandwiches
Only down side is the price to get in then they want you to by fast track tickets
If you are disabled, DO NOT GO. They say it is easy for disabled people but it is not. You have to walk, sometimes even 3 to 4 flights of stair because they were to lazy to put in ramps. If this were in America, Chessington World of Adventures would be sued. Never ever will I come back nor will I recommend to others.
No very good for children 2 or under & queit experience over all
It was very good for me and my little family. I have two little children and there was stuff for us all to do as well as fun rides and activities for adults also. Thoughly enjoyed and will be back again
Overall it was a great family day out. Queuing @ 10am is insane, taken over 1h on the last mile, before we parked up and got inside. As long as you happy to wait about 70 minutes on each ride, then your day would be great.
A few rides and play areas were shut and the place was heaving with people. In one afternoon we only made it onto one ride as queue times were unbelievable. We paid full price but in reality it was not worth it. Can't believe you have to More
Great fun for all but pricey. If you go or are close enough consider a Annual/ Merlin pass. (The latter gets you in to most attraction parks
My daughter was allowed on dragons fury despite being slightly under 1.2m without being checked. We were absolutely fine with this as it a very minimal.
However we then queued for almost an hour for tiger river another 1.2m minimum ride with the thought it would be the same outcome.
Alas this time we were checked and she was not allowed on, we spoke to management who were adamant she should've not been on allowed either ride.
The tiger river is far less thrilling/high octane than dragon fury.
It was very disappointing as there was no consistency shown.
It would've been a nice token gesture to be allowed to the front of rainforest river (young child's version of tiger river) however even after asking another member of staff and explaining situation it was still not possible.
I understand they're doing their job and covering themselves in event of accident, but the lack of empathy and diligence to the situation was disappointing I have to say.
It tarnished what was otherwise a nice day out.
All over a matter of a few centimetres!
My god awful place to get out of not good after long day plus have the cheek to charge 3 pound to park as well. Took 1 hr and 15 mins just to get out of car park. Massive queues for all rides would Def think twice before going again booked and got tickets for half price wasn't even worth half price.
Really nice service, amazing food and rides are cleaned between each set of riders. Very quick queue times
Our family love it here the hotels is great to stay in as it backs on to park you can sit out in the evening have a drink and watch the animals.
What a beautiful family oriented place. We loved our visit. The weather was beautiful. Great atmosphere. Download the app for the best experience. Food is ok. We brought our own but still ended up buying food. The donuts are definitely as must. The queues for the rides were maybe a 10minute wait. Great place for singles, dates and families.
Disgraceful treatment of their animals! We watched for 20 minutes straight whilst zebras murdered their small antelopes. Visitors were the only people shouting and trying to stop it whilst the staff stood and watched saying they were t trained to get in with the animals!! Who can be allowed to run a zoo with no zoo keepers?!
We enjoyed the day but there were a few things we had to mark it down for. We had to queue for over half an hour to get into the park because there was only one till open at the entrance. Staff were disinterested and unhelpful at both the Sealife "hands on" area and the penguin walk through. The guy who came to help when the kids lost their money in the remote control boats was good but we had to wait 15 minutes for him to get to us.
It's Ok. Average.
We went just before peak season so it wasn't too busy. Some of the kiddy rides are a bit lame though. The queue for one of the main rides was too large for us to bother with.
They don't seem to have enough lunch facilities, getting a pizza was pandemonium. Prices are all far too high, too.
THE ZOO PART:
Honestly, this actually needs to be closed down. The space given for the animals is cruel, so is the level of noise from people and rides that they have to put up with.
Spent most of my time in this section wishing that I could open the gates and let all of the poor little buggers out.
Very run down, we went as a group of 10 for the zoo. Half the animals were not even in there inclosure which was disappointing for the kids. The pizza pasta restaurant was awful. No staff had any information about alligies and the pizza was very poor quality for the price!!!
Unfortunately we won't be going back this summer...
I did a 2 week placement here and the park was honestly one of the best places I've been in a while. The animals are so well looked after. Lots of enrichment provided and care taken to make sure the animals are happy and have everything they need. There are regular feeding shows at different times, so they don't clash and you can watch diferemt animals getting fed. There are also some theme park rides offering a different experience for young thrill seekers. I loved that there were so many things to do, such that you could happily spend a whole weekend looking around and enjoying the place.
A favourite when I was a child. Now that I have nieces, I have an excuse to go once more. A good range of rides for younglings. Even the Vampire only requires a height of 1.1M.
Absolutely loved the overnight stay we had in the themed rooms with our daughter, son in law and grandchildren. Enjoyed all the attractions we visited and were given a return pass as the weather was bad and we were unable to use many of the attractions. The rooms were well presented and clean the staff were very helpful and quite apart from what we did in the adventure park our grandchildren loved swapping/collecting the theme park badges during our stay. We definitely will revisit.
Fantastic day great rides for all ages and friendly staff. Definitely going back soon.
Great day lots of things to do and see, highly recommended
Rides seem like they haven't gone through deep maintenance in a while with frequent breakdowns.
Advertised ride queue times are wildly inaccurate with the actual time differing up to an hour.
Waited an hour in line for sub par chips due to untrained staff not knowing how to cook or work the registers.
Ridiculous queue tines for rides. 5 of which were at the 2hr point. Fortunately plenty of other things to see like all the animals. Not worth the mo ey for a day trip but as merlin pass holders it's an OK day out.
Winter, so the rides were closed, but a very pleasant experience. A lovely aquarium and good zoo attractions - the lion 'teenagers' were especially fun to watch and being able to see tigers up so close was very special. We had a zootastic sleepover at the safari hotel, which is a little tired, but clean and well-designed. All in all, would recommend a winter visit - just be aware that food inside the park is very expensive.
I went Clampping, and it was wonderful.
The hole place was just a joy.
Staff were so helpful, food that I bought
was reasonably priced.
Went for two day,the tents are in a wooded water, lovely.
The animals looked like they were taken care of.
The rides where magnificent, each morning they were maintained.
And at my age I never thought I'd enjoy such rides.
My favourt ride was the Rattlesnake....
Such a lovely place for Children and adults.
Well done,CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURES.
Chessington is a park we SHOULD love.
Thw animals, the music, the atmosphere, it SHOULD be perfect.
Sadly what causes issues is how many people love it and how popular its become.
The rides are always on huge queue times and investment in higher throughput rides is needed to help the guest experience, sadly as long as its this busy sales of fast track will always be higher.
The paths don't feel wide enough anymore for just how busy it is.
The ques for food and drink are unbearable at lunch times.
Bubble works was left to rot, going from the country's best dark ride by miles to a shell of its former glory, sadly the Gruffalo River that replaced it, just doesn't stand up.
Vampire is a genuine classic but it's getting on now.
Tiger Rock was a good and much needed conversion but it's already looking unloved.
The park needs investment, it needs to grow.
The map of the park is absolutely terrible and because of this we hardly seen a thing. The toilets aren't very well signposted and are a terrible mess. Although the four rides we did manage to find were spectacular.
Great day out. Not many rides for toddlers but lots of rides for middle and older children, starting at 1.20cm height. Unfortunately most of automats as well as remote control boats were not working which is a shame as there are no signs to say so, so you end up loosing your money.
What stood out about Chessington is how suitable it is for children who are looking to try out more challenging rides than smaller theme parks such as Paultons Park. You will see from my other reviews that I also rate Paultons Park as 5 star, my kids are 6, 9 and 11 and we weren't sure that we would get good value from somewhere like Alton Towers and Chessington fits that gap perfectly!!!
I hate the fact the park closes so early, it is ridiculous that a theme park closes around 5-6pm, when parks around Europe closes minimum at 9pm... (also for the amount of hours it is open, it is very expensive)
It's a really good theme park and I enjoyed it so much! As we all know it is a kids theme park but I think scary rides should be added
Expensive but great day with kids. Rides and shows are good. Restaurant's are pretty awful, cheap and cheerful.
Awesome day out. Much variety and impressive tigers
What an amazing adventure. Had some lovely fish and chips for lunch .. might add you should go hungry as it is a lot to eat. There is so much for everyone to do and experience. Unfortunately the ride we wanted to go on had broken down. Due to time restrictions we could not wait but will be back again.
Very expensive for the rides on offer and quite a few affected by breakdowns whilst we were there. Run down and could do with a lick of paint.
Such a variety of rides with lots of deals on everyday! From adrenaline junkies to toddlers, there's something for everyone!
Father Christmas grotto was good, they were great with my disabled daughter, just a shame so much of the park was closed
Good place to visit for families preferably from. 4- 15yr olds as the rides are more for them. They not many big rides that we wanted the vampire one was the best
The whole family loved it! 2 days are best if you want to do everything, which is what we'll do next time. Staff were polite and friendly too
I'm a carer Who brang non-ambulant clients to the theme park who are in their late 20s early 30s total waste of money only things there was allowed to ride were kids rides they paid for additional carers which still never allowed them access to the main rides I asked to see a manager I requested a refund which I was refused their web page doesn't specify what rides they could go on so if you're bringing anyone who's non-ambulant I'll save you money .
I found it was a very welcoming and friendly the staff were amazing!!! I could not have asked for better service in the park!!! But after the prices you pay to get in the park and in there, to get charged for parking, where everyone has to que to get out.... 50 minutes to get out, kind of let them down!!!
It was expensive did a lot of walking but my kids loved it so was a good day out
Was a lovely family day out wish there were more big rides for teenager
Rides are thrilling but wait times are long if you have not purchased a fast track
Incredibly busy even at supposedly 60% capacity. Didnt get to go on much. And social distancing non existent. Although that's not Chessingtons fault just the visitors ignoring the markings.
Great day out for the kids however they really need to work on there ride que times. Didnt notice any single rider que although seen a lot of people riding on there own. Some staff didnt seem overly in a rush either to get people on faster. Maybe they want people to spend more and buy a fast track? who knows.
Very poor food choice.... don't buy the meal deal offered online, you can't have pretty much anything reasonable with it, everything is excluded. All food places are scattered across the park you have to walk miles around only to make an idea of what's on offer. My wife is vegetarian, she barely could find something to eat with the all incouded ticket online. Next time (if we will ever come back eventually) we will bring our food.
Rides are the same, hidden everywhere... you need to literally search them like in a maze. The paper map is useless. Luckily there's an app to navigate you through.
Very few rides and all overcrowded... if you're not walking lost around you'll be waiting in queue for hours. Some rides are up to 120 minutes wait.
Love Chessington but as always the main rides were closed! Waste of time and money. Not going to bother going again!
Great day out. Loved it all. Definitely going back. Zufari was excellent, helped by the lovely weather.
It was our first time at Chessington and we truly enjoyed every minute of it x even the rain didn't ruin the day x the most impressive thing was all of the staff members as they were cheerful and smiling, making interactions with the children so thank you guys for doing amazing job x
We had a brilliant family day out. The children particularly enjoyed the sealife centre and the animal displays.
Is a lovely place is nice to go for outing with family and friends you won't regret it.
For a 1 night 2 day event it's really nice, anything more is too much
Brilliant for quite a few ages tbh really bad if weather is bad (keep your tickets if its a full rainy day they may give you a refund or tickets to go again) be very careful of the carpark when wet (partner slipped on the mud) suggest going to the food outlets as if you prepay it doesnt seem value for money (family meal deal) ie hotdogs and drink x4 would save you money and less time to queue great day out though
