I have spent all but one of the last 12 Memorial Day weekends in Charlotte. I've taken friends and recommended it to others. It is a great way to spend the race day weekend if it's something that you enjoy. They put on an absolutely amazing pre-race display for the 600 but it's not something that I bother going to see anymore as most years it is pretty much the same. Ticket prices are very reasonable and it in field passes definitely something worth getting.

Went to the race on a Sunday, and just WOW what a really great experience that was. The track was really decorated with loads of people and lots of tradition, and man what a race the Coca-Cola 600 had to offer. I will return next time.

Don t camp in the Camping World Campground one Row G. The camp disc jockey is apparently a tradition and he blasts his music SO LOUD it is literally rattling my motor home. Quiet hours don t start until midnight, but apparently there are NO LIMITS to the decibels during non-quiet hours. Stay anywhere but here.

Took the tour of the track. Awesome. Tour van actually goes on speedway to demonstrate the length & banked degree of surface. Tour gave history and intriguing subject matter privy to Charlotte Speedway. Cost for military and kids 13 and under $10. Race enthusiasts were using track during our tour to run their personal vehicles. Plenty of resturants nearby. Great day trip. Concord Mill Outlet is also near.

Always a great time for the All Star race!!!! Thanks Monster for ruining the driver introductions this year. The motorcycles and baja trucks were cool until we couldn't even hear the drivers being announced.

Amenities and track atmosphere was fantastic. Parking was fairly easy to maneuver and reasonably priced for event day. Seats could have a little more space but I don't expect that to change due to the massive investment it would take.

My wife took me here as a surprise, it felt great to be there and experience the racing experience. The site was beautiful and breathe taking. My only regret was seeing a Confederate flag on display where all could see. I'm not a political activist but the flag did damper my mood some. Nascar needs to take a stand to keep this type of agenda out of racing.

I took my family and friends to the Speedway Christmas. It was a NIGHTMARE! ! We arrived at the speedway at 615pm. After 45 minutes we arrived at the pay station. Paid $30 then got routed thru a maze of cars thru the campground area. We finally made it to the lighted area at 1055pm. At that point of time I didn't even care about the lights. We finally left the show at 1215am. Very disappointed. Have been to the show in the past years and it has never been like this before. There was NO ONE around from the track or involved with the show to even discuss the situation with. Once you paid your fee you were stuck in this maze of cars and no way to exit.

Eveventually nice. Pay the 50 dollars and avoid the line. We sat in a line of cars from 6:30pm until 10pm before we saw more than Santa in a race car.

My kids were crying in misery.
Go to the bathroom before you go OR go at the start of the line. Other wise a muddy porta potty is your only option.

Most of the lights are burnt out. There was more 3 years ago when you started at the dirt track.

I gave it 2 stars because it was cool to drive on the track, even at less than a mile an hour.

We took in the truck race outstanding experience. First time I have been to a race in years. Forgot what I missed about racing. The service personnel were outstanding as well and the racing was exciting. Totally different than watching on TV. Get the speedway a try!

We prepaid to go to the christmas light show and travel from smithfield NC-a little over 3 hours away with our toddler for his 2 year birthday gift. When we got their, we were directed to follow traffic-we were told by the ticket and information booth guy that it would be about a 30 minute wait. We literally waited in our car, in line for over 5 hours. I had to run out of the car and use the port-a-john in the lot and 5 cars beeped and pulled out in front of us. It was a nightmare! You couldn't get out of line either, so their was no "turn around point" if you changed your mind and didn't want to wait. By the time we got into the stadium, the lights were a complete disappointment. Put it this way, our toddler wasn't even interested...he wanted to watch movies instead. We literally left. We got their at 7pm and ended up finally getting out (without stopping to the village) at 12:20 at night. It was horrible. WE WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! Honestly, they need to warn parents about such a long wait....people with kids were letting their kids walk outside of the cars to walk off energy because of sitting in the cars so long. The lights were certainly not worth all of that.
