Love this track! The guys took us to the wrong camping spot the first night, but we moved easily the next morning. Kudos to the TMI shop for the array of sizes, I rarely find a shirt that fits. Bought 3!

The best racing venue in the US for the fan. As a racing fan this is absolutely hands down the best fan experience. If you can get here for the IMSA race it is the best racing experience I have

Attended Oak Tree Grand Prix, first visit to VIR. Loved being able to walk around most of the track -- found multiple places offering great views of the racing. Had lunch from the main concession, prices were very reasonable, food was actually pretty good too. Easy access to paddock to see cars and teams up close. Next time I'm bringing my bike so I can cover more ground faster. Only thing to watch out for -- place is nearly over-run by golf carts and other four wheelers. Otherwise - awesome place to catch a rice -- and if you're lucky enough, drive a race car.

This is a beautiful facility and a great track. We came for the IMSA race and enjoyed it thoroughly. They did a good job of getting everyone in and out of the facility quickly. It could use a few more grandstands and it would be great if we could watch near the roller coaster, but setting up by Turn 3 is really fun too!

I highly recommend the grandstand near the concession stand for the feeder series races. Bring a chair for the other races.

One of the great American road courses. Second year in a row that we attended the IMSA race and we had a great time. The event could have used a few more food vendors, but no real complaints. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of the limited viewing areas. A few more jumbotrons might help, but they really need to open up more areas around the track for spectators or put in some large grandstands. Large grandstands overlooking Hogpen and Oaktree would be a good start. Anything located opposite the front straight would be nice and opening the area between turns one and four would be appreciated. Also, remove the two trees between the grandstand and the track at turn 3. If you sit in those stands the trees obstruct the big screen, which defeats the purpose IMHO. Love the track, but desperately needs improved spectator areas for the large events.

I'm gonna give them 0 stars for this experience. I was told highway speeds and what happened is being stuck behind a pace car doing 45mph which I can fart faster!. The pace car was waving at the spectators at every corner and had zero experience as a driver. I'm lucky the Mustang behind me that can't handle half as good as my vehicle didn't slam into the back of me!. Not to mention I got there at 10am and my group was put on the track at 2pm. Absolutely unacceptable I will not waist my time money and energy on this disappointing event again!

VIR is not just a place for great racing, VIR offers the total weekend racing package experience. Tucked away in Southside Virginia is this gem, which has nice, clean, comfortable overnight accommodations, delicious dining options at the Tavern, and most importantly they have an exceptional staff which always provides excellence in security, safety, and customer service from the moment you come through the front gate until the moment you leave the property. VIR just makes you want to come back again and again, to enjoy exciting road course racing action with your family and friends. They really go above and beyond to cater to the whole family and they certainly pride themselves on ensuring each person has a safe and enjoyable visit to their track and other onsite facilities/ activities.

This is a great track for getting close to the action. Concessions are marginal, but you can take in your own stash of snacks and refreshments. There are a number of good spots to watch a piece of the action.

Second time I've done the Grand Course and it is fantastic! This track is truly amazing and very well maintained. Their lodging is very nice and fun to be able to stand on the balcony and watch people on the track. Their small little snack shack is quiet decent for what it is. Very well maintained course that is truly beautiful!

Experienced the IMSA Michelin Weather Tech Challenge 2019 and this is by far my favorite track to visit. The grounds are unbelievable and everything is maintained very well. I will definitely be back next year.

This is one of the United States best international road racing tracks. It s located in a beautiful area of southern Virginia and is host to an international crowd of the best racing fans on the planet! If you re coming to the track it s always best if you plan to camp, because there s not a lot of lodging in the surrounding area. The closest place to grab a hotel room is either at the track for a premium price, or in Danville Virginia. Plan early if you re coming to the IMSA race weekend.but nonetheless come to the track. Highly recommended!

It was absolutely beautiful, the rooms were clean, and extremely comfortable, the staff was amazing and very professional, and the Krispy Kreme RV came along and gave us all 2 free boxes of donuts which felt amazing after a 3hr drive to get there! We are definitely coming back!!

Nice place with nice people and modern facilities. A bit out of the way, but it is in a country setting. Food, restrooms, showers, ice, and a retail shop for race stuff you've forgotten is all here.

Google appears to think Virginia International Raceway is a hotel. It is not. There is a hotel here that people call The Lodge, which I hear is nice, but expensive. We camp at the track, and is cheap, beautiful, and super convenient. You can park your camper or tent almost anywhere you like, and it only costs $50 for the whole weekend (Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights). Tents are cheaper. All that, and racing at my favorite racetrack! Gotta go, we have a track session in a few minutes!

One of my favorite places in the world. If you like cars and horsepower and want to hear the sounds, smell the smells and see fantastic and historical cars at speed on a fantastic road course this is the place. It seems to get upgraded every year. There are so many great locations to watch a race that I always get miles in walking.

Rent a villa on the track. It is a really good time! If there is a specific car you want see, make sure you go down to the paddock on Saturday. The car you want to see might be gone on Sunday!

what an amazing place and wonderful experience. Yesterday was the first time that I had ever been to Virginia International Raceway, but I will most certainly be looking for opportunities to go back.

Everything about the place was immaculate and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. As an old road racer I am definitely going to find an opportunity to get out on the track at some point.

If I could live here I would. I have been to many races here over the past three years and they have all been enjoyable. Modern clean bathrooms, updated facilities and easy access once you figure out that the track is sort of hidden in the rolling hills alone the North Carolina, Virginia border. I have talked to other road race fans and they all agree that VIR is the most fan friendly track in the south east. VIR hosts the Tudor cup every year and the vendors and food trucks make for a full three days of amazing racing and other diversions for the whole family.

First time at a racetrack for me and my son, and so glad it was VIR! My newly-licensed (but experienced driver) son and I came for the Victory Junction Charity Laps and both had a wonderful time! But, we are still arguing over which one of us had better hot laps with the professional drivers: Son says the Radical was more intense than anything I possibly could have experienced, but I say riding with young-blood racing royalty - a grandson of Richard Petty (who did NOT appear to hold anything back during laps in the Petty Camaro) was the best. I think we're both right :)

Being able to drive on such a great track at such a nice facility staffed with tons of friendly people, and see so many wonderful cars (and even trucks!) of all styles, types, and levels, and to interact with so many enthusiasts accompanying their "objects of joy" in one place was a real treat. Helping a fine charity was the cherry on top!

Only downside was that we were held back a really long time by having some "VIP's" put ahead of us as we waited for our turn in the aptly named Radical, but had so much fun watching the various cars come and go on their laps, we only slightly regretted not having time to tour the rest of the facility or visit the folks of Flying Lizard we met at our hotel in Danville who so kindly offered to let us drop by to see the Audi R8 GT4's they were testing at VIR. One thing that isn't lacking is our desire to get back to VIR ASAP and figure out which ways will best suit us to get more track time!
