An absolute gem of a local computer shop. Local staff are friendly even though they have accused me of spending more time here than at my actual place of employment. Ian and Ray in particular have gone out of there way to make my "going broke buying PC part's" experience as good as it could be. It's gotten to the point where I'm referred to as "Mr. Adams" as I walk through the front door. Still haven't gotten an invite to the Christmas party though. ;-)

I understand you guys are under the pump because of COVID. After waiting 30 minutes in line, i had to wait an additional 40 minutes in the cold because they lost my order. Then on top of that, they couldn't trust that it was me and my company who placed the order. We have made many purchases in the past. You guys are in high demand and there are many people looking for work so you should employ more staff to better manage your click and collect services so you would have less people waiting out in the cold.
Amazing customer service, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Came in for a gaming keyboard the other day not knowing a thing about the different types and Alex helped me pick one that suits me taking me through all the different kinds there were. Very happy with the experience!
Went to get a monitor to use with my ps4, at first was told no monitors support the same hdr as ps4 so I was sold a very poor quality $300 viewsonic one, took it home to find it doesn't support hdr (which I knew that alot of them did). Did some quick research of my own (took about 30 seconds), found a 4k msi monitor that supports hdr so went to go and get a refund/exchange and was told there is a 20% "restocking" fee, yes TWENTY PERCENT!!! Anyway. Got my msi monitor ($698) took it home and it's hdr compatible, 4k all the bells and whistles. Works perfectly.
I'm a carpenter (i know f-all about computers) and with 30 seconds of research I found what I needed, do your own research as these guys have no clue.
Honestly not even worth a star. I pre-ordered a laptop more than a month ago and paid in full online. The order information had stated that they were awaiting stock and when I checked the link of the laptop to see when the ETA was changed to as I have received no news, the link was apparently non-existent. Initially I thought nothing of it until so much time passed and I heard nothing! I emailed and Danny M tells me that the model has become "End of Life".
If I hadn't emailed, I don't think centre.com would have even bothered to inform their customers about it and would happily kept the money we spent on a non-existent product for themselves.
Bought a pre-built system which was missing a part. Centrecom refuse to provide the part even after I have paid for it. Their customer service is appalling, they act as if you are an annoyance. After 2 months they said I can mail the entire system back to them at my cost, rather than sending out the missing part to me.
When this lockdown ends, I expect a large amount of customers will shop elsewhere for PC gear. The director, Raymond Xianke Huang should be ashamed, after building up so many stores and a reasonable reputation to have it thrown away by arrogant customer service employees.
Simply read the other reviews, if what you purchase happens to be faulty, it will not get resolved by Centrecom. They would prefer you went away.
Was told that the item was not in stock from behind the counter even though i could see the exact thing i wanted behind him stacked with at least 15 of these items. Very poor service.
First time coming in to the store to pick up a computer system that my husband bought online. Very disappointed with their customer service. I even talked to the store manager, he wasn't helpful either.
Very unhappy with Centre Com's dishonest service. Brought my Macbook Air in for repair still under warranty and was told that I would have to pay a fee for any repairs or labour and that if I brought it to Apple I would have to pay the same. Brought it to Apple and it was repaired free of charge as it was under warranty. Watch out for these guys.
Was after parts for a new computer build, had great help from picking parts with Alex, very knowledgeable and on the ball about everything. Definitely coming back whenever I need more parts.
Love this store. Their staff are always helpful, prices are great, & many items are on display. Steve was fantastic fine tuning a gaming PC build within the budget of my teenage son who had been saving for 3 years! I am really impressed once again with the service & knowledge from Centrecom. Thankyou.
Been shopping here for a good 5+ years, I know my way around tech products and don't consider myself to be a 'fussy' customer. Many times I've done my research, compared the prices, all I want is to buy the stuff and go, which this store over the last 3 years has made a hassle which has lead me to take my cash elsewhere.
For example, while their website might appear professional and functional, their staff don't properly correspond with it. There have been times where an item is said to be 'In Stock' and I have gone to the store within the hour and the item is either not in stock or a different price listed to the website. The staff aren't very helpful and service takes forever, warranty is a biatch to deal, I once had to wait 45 minutes for them to return $10 for a PSU that took out my whole house's power because they had to test it and just can't give a long time customer the benefit of the doubt (they had a massive stock clearance sale the week prior, otherwise I don't buy cheap hardware)
Prices are ok-ish, not very competitive. Many times they will advertise something to be 'On Special' with the same price it was a couple weeks before while not on special. And whenever something is priced well in comparison to the competition, they have low numbers of stock. And by 'low numbers', I mean you'll place an order online and receive an email two weeks later that they don't have the item in stock and it can't be dispatched.
Unless you're desperate or only need a USB Stick or a cheap CPU cooler, avoid Centrecom Sunshine at all costs. When they finally get off their butts to mail your order out, they send it with Toll Couriers who are another hassle to deal with.
This company continues to falsely advertise, and some how continue to get away with it. I would steer clear, extremely shady business with terrible customer service.
Recently ordered some RAM, SSD and CPU. I don't understand why you would not just bubble wrap these before shipping them interstate? $500 worth of products and arrived damaged....
Would not recommend anyone to purchase with online shipping.
I purchased a pre-built PC due to COVID, I am now needing to work from home. The PC works great and will be able to get the jobs done. The guys at Centre Com were able to provide me with a PC that was within my budget too. Great customer service.
I called the Sunshine store (5 minutes ago) to ask few questions instead of going in (possibly for nothing) and the person on the phone couldn't be more rude even if he tried. He pretty much did not want to talk and provide service on the phone, just told me to go in store. While I was trying to get guidance for products on the website he kept on talking fast, rushing me and giving me numbers that meant nothing to someone who doesn't know the website as well as their staff do. I have been a long time customer (over 15 years) and I have never had a bad experience like this. Few other times (in store) I came across staff who weren't very familiar with the products, but still served customers appropriately. This was such a bad customer service. I'm definitely taking my business somewhere else!
Good prices - terrible customer service. As others have said, make sure you know your rights if you need to return something. They're shocking on refunds and will give you the run around when you're within your rights for a return. I hate the thought of having to buy from here and will only buy from them if I have no other choice.
Horrible customer service phone line and store. I went to pick up my ordered paid item. For 2 hours I had to wait in the queue. Only a single person was serving the customers and he had to take average of 30 minutes with each customer. He was handling returned and faulty items plus pickups. It s horrible, I will never again buy anything from them and I don t advise others to buy from them either. It used to be a good place to buy years ago, no more unfortunately.
Centre Com Apple store are lairs. The website explained clearly that the special applied to their sunshine store, then the gutless manager refused to pass on the discount stating that they are exempt from the sale. The faceless manager did not make an attempt to speak to me rather sat on his back side in the back room and sent his poor employee. They are theives and liars.
Centrecom Sunshine main store were lovely and kind.
That evening they changed the website for the product I was enquiring about, did not reply to my email asking for an explanation for their actions when they reached out first and forgot to change the wording on the website for their other product... You think I wouldn't notice that?
Whoever runs the apple store section for the company needs to be investigated for breeching consumer law. I should have reported them to the ACCC. But I let it go, however constant targeting ads for this particular store keep appearing on my social media and I hope by sharing my experience about this Apple store, will put a stop to it.
The worst store in Melbourne horrible customer service I have rung 10+ times they don t answer they have held my computer for 2 weeks and no one has even looked at it yet extremely rude workers horrible prices never shop at this store
Always has the best range of Computer products and accessories, with the best prices! Friendly staff will always help you out, shout out to Thavro for his customer service excellency
We purchased some laptops from them online checkout was easy and just before they shipped we were given a courtesy call to verify address, because we lived in units they were also checking the location was secure to deliver too ie someone would be home to ensure the packaged was not stolen etc great purchase experience and would purchase products through them again in the future
Great group of guys always willing to help out. Knowledgeable and great pricing. Helped me out with my Mac repair, and saved me a heap compared to other places I checked.
Faulty printer sold by Centre com Sunshine warehouse, difficult getting item returned as staff are unknowledgeable and unresponsive to emails and phone calls.
Fairly disappointed.. bought some ram online, rather simple really.. turned out to be faulty.. ok that happens.. but what happens next doesn't.. when I contacted them to arrange warranty they responded confirming my details you know name address email that kind of thing... but only they provided me with another customers full details, full name, address email wow that's unprofessional..not to mention risky.. what with all the identity theft there days.. but it doesn't stop there... I finally get my replacement ram back and it's faulty again!... so I'm pretty unlucky now.. so I try to call centrecom, theyre not taking calls due to covid.. alright, so I email centrecom, 3 days go by.. Nothing.. so I email again.. 3 days go by... Nothing.. so I create a ticket on their website and in their first response I get told off for creating multiple tickets... Yeah ok... Well maybe if you didn't take more than 8 days to get back to people they wouldn't need to...
Absolutely terrible customer service. I don t know how there still in business with the customer service they provide, rude, arrogant and abrupt. If you all don t like your job find another one and if you don t like helping customers find a job that you sit in a small cubicle by yourself.
Couldn't speak highly enough of the customer service I received. Was putting together a computer from parts bought from Centrecom and had trouble getting my computer to start up. Gabriel checked it out and quickly worked out that my processor doesn't work with onboard graphics (which I hadn't realized when buying the parts). Really happy that they checked my computer out for me and resolved the issue quickly and without cost. The warehouse pickup was straightfoward - overall very smooth!
Ordered a new mouse over a week any have not received pick up schedule form anyone. This is not good enough. Next time will order online elsewhere. As I live around the corner and thought that I would support the local business. Would not recommend this business to anyone. Not happy. Can t even talk to anyone by phone. Would rather purchase from eBay. Learn a big lesson
I ordered a laptop online. When I ordered it, I contacted sales and they indicated I would receive the goods within 3 days. After working days the laptop did not arrive. I contacted Centrecom again and they indicated it was in transit. After another 3 days I contacted them again and they indicated the laptop was damaged and no longer available and would I like something else. They could not supply a laptop I wanted. I requested a refund. No refund was received. I contacted Centrecom again and they said they would process the refund that day. I have now waited a week and still no refund and they do not answer their phones.
Service is good. Pricing can be questionable. Do compare. Normally they are happy to match other retailers if they are cheaper. Warranty and after sales is top notch.
Went in looking for some parts and assistance, received excellent help and advice from Daniel leaving a feeling of satisfaction when leaving. Would shop there again.
I walked into the store to return some headphones I bought on Sunday. I wanted to return the headphones because sound was very quiet no matter what I did to make it louder; reinstalling drivers, windows updates, volume up to 100. Nothing worked. The headphones are also very loose around the head and not comfortable at all. I went to the service desk and the boy that helped me plugged them into the front desk computer with the headphone jack first. He was not able to get sound to come through the jack so he plugged in the usb and still couldn't get any sound out. After a few minutes and a few very obnoxiously loud clicks, the headphones were working. I asked him how he got them working and his answer was literally "plugged 'em in". He also gave no eye contact to me or the person before me, I understand that it was 5:30pm and you want to go home but a bit of basic human decency wouldn't go astray. That was his final answer and I asked if I could possibly get a refund anyway, he then redirected me to the sales counter. I went there and was hand balled one more time by someone in there because he was "unable to make the final call". The last person I spoke to told me I could not get a refund or store credit because of OH&S. When I was at the service desk I asked if he had the relevant software installed on that PC, he told me that they didn't. Then when I was speaking with the last person, he said they have all relevant programs installed on all computers. Worst experience I have had to date with this place, it is always such a depressing, unapproachable store. The only reason I keep coming back is because their products are cheaper than other retailers.
centrecom is the most dodgy shop I ever encounter...
25-Jan. I bought a D-Link powerline from centrecom locate at 124 Hampshire Sunshine which is know as centrecom apple store. The receipt is printed 128-130 Hampshire Sunshine which is next door. So far any thing I bought from major AU chain shops such as JB, officework, target... As long as I have receipt, I can go to any branch for return / refund. So it should be the same for centercom.
That device is broken, so I bring back 2 days later. I went to the centrecom sunshine (128-130 Hampshire) and they said they don't sell that product and ask me to to 124 Hampshine, centrecom Apple store next door where I bought it from.
At centrecom Apple Store, the staff first deny they only selling Apple products so that is that D-Link powerline should not from that shop and ask me go back to next doorm centrecom sunshine. Then I pointed to the shelf which still have 2 D-Link powerline left and asked what is that product. The staff then changed his statement saying they only provide service and support to Apple products, so even they are sell D-Link products any problem must go to centercom sunshine.
He even said my receipt is printed 128-130 Hampshire should be where I bought the item. I insist the staff check the computer record. Finally he agree that I bought from centercom apple store, but he still mention Apple store don't cover warranty on item other than Apple's products.
That is ping-pong, no one want take the responsibility when it come to warranty issues. I placed the item on the front desk and ask him to setter, else I will complain to consumer affair.
After followup complaining with online support, their management called me last 2 days and agreed for refund.
In term of after sale service, centercom do a very bad job.. ...
That is my first time deal with centercom and also is the last time
Purchased a 2.4k system build, only for them to say it cant be shipped after i paid. And to assemble it myself. Then the motherboards ram slots stopped working after 6 months and i was told i had to pay for the repair and shipping costs both ways. Took 3-5 days to respond to each email and only answered the phone once from the 10 times i called.
Bought a PC power supply from Centre Com about a month ago. After some time, the fan stopped spinning and the power supply would regularly overheat. Fair enough, took it back to exchange it for a working one.
That's when the customer service guy explained that they can't do exchanges on weekends, as they need a technician to verify all faults. Apparently it's also against company policy to plug anything in and have a look at it without supervision from a technician.
I've never dealt with this level of bad service and unnecessary bureaucracy in over a decade of building computers - and I often shop at MSY.
I advise anyone looking to purchase PC parts to avoid this business.
customers service was the worst I have seen was going to spend about $4000 on a computer I walked out they are not getting my money I'll go somewhere else
I been dealing with the online department over the phone and to be honest The guy is extremely rude over the phone and would not help at all . Need to train the staff with customer service skills when your daily role is to deal with customers.
Customer service is very poor when there is an issue with the product. My son bought an item with his saving and only found out the product was faulty. Has been very unpleasant dealing with it, after 2 weeks and still no outcome. Consumer affair is the next step i think..
The arrogance and pure magnitude of poor customer service at this place is beyond a joke. Doesn't listen to complaints and basically told to get over it. Not only that but a mistake THEY made on my order cost me $16 in postage and an extra restocking fee, they're refusing to refund me, for their mistake! What a joke.
Terrible! Ordered a PC 4 weeks ago, constantly told different stories, their website clearly says if you order a PC parts will be allocated at time of order YET there excuse why my PC hasnt been delivered is because the parts arent available (noting they were when I ordered). They have cut their phone so you cant call them and they are not responding too emails anymore, they were happy to take my money! Understand things are busy however a simple update of when I am likely to get the PC would be appreciated instead of me thinking I have been ripped off and not seeing my PC. Due to their lack of communication I have no choice but to goto Consumer Affairs tomorrow.
I spent a lot on my first PC build. It is very specialised and I took months to research it all. I was nervous about all the components being compatible. When I received the PC the screen wasn't giving me any input. Now I am a bit of a noob and didn't want to open it or break anything but the Centrecom guys quickly identifed the issue and I was up and running. I had multiple (stupid) questions over the course of the first day and each time I received a prompt response and was very quickly able to resolve my problem. Alexander at Centrecom definitely filled me with confidence. Satisfied with my choice.
Went to the Apple Repair store because Highpoint genius were very rude and told me they couldn't repair my computer for 5 days after I left it with them. Apple referred me here and the staff were very polite and had my MacBook repaired next day! Never need to go to Highpoint genius bar again now! Made a little girl very happy! Can't thank them enough :)
Apple Store been great, Highpoint refer me to centrecom Apple store as their next appointment is a week away, I need my Mac fix asap. I drove 25 minutes to them last Saturday the guy took to back office fixed it in ten minutes, they did not charge me either. Will definitely buy from them next time. They lost one star as I felt very hard to find their location.
Duarte G helped us in store to purchase a new monitor and graphics card. He was very knowledgeable and talked us through all our options and didn't automatically suggest the most expensive options and talked us through everything we needed to know. We got attended to quickly and didn't wait long to get help at all.
Would 100% recommend and will be back for future purchases.
I would not recommend this pathetic excuse for a company to my worst enemy. I had an absolutely terrible experience from the word go, with the end result was being out of pocket by $1,500.00 for 2 months, and no PC to show for it.
The original order took 17 days to be made available, because the case I selected was out of stock. Was I told this item was out of stock? Of course not. I had to query what the delay was before they told me this, at which point I had to adjust my order. I then selected a case with an in-built PSU, so they arranged to refund me the amount that I had already paid for an independent PSU. This refund never came. When I picked it up, they had installed original PSU into the new case. I cannot understand why on Earth they did this. I then spent 20 minutes in the scorching heat waiting for them to fix their blunder.
After getting gome, I encountered nothing but issues for several anxiety-filled days. I spent hours trying to fix these issues, but ended up giving in, and arranging to return it for repairs. So I take a second trip out to Sunshine to have it repaired (which took them 3 days, despite initially being told by the guy at the service desk it would be ready in 24 hours - given that it was a brand new purchase, and would therefore be treated with priority).
It turns out they gave me a faulty graphics card, and a faulty optical drive. It is beyond my comprehension how a company that feeds their families on the backs of custom-built PCs could have supplied not one, but two faulty pieces of hardware. So, after a third trip to Sunshine to collect it, I finally have my PC again.
They tell me they've replaced the faulty hardware. They tell me they've done a clean install of Windows. They tell me they've installed all the drivers. They assure me that there's no issues.
I turn it on, click through a few simple setup options like inputting the CD key, connecting to the internet etc. and it re-starts. I try again, again it restarts. 15 attempts later I give up.
I call Centrecom again, and tell them that the PC is having issues, again. They suggest I drive back down there (for a fourth time), I tell them I am not driving down there ever again, and that they need to arrange for it to be collected. So what happens? They send me an e-mail with directions on how I can arrange the courier. After all this, they pass the buck to me to deal with a third party and arrange the collection.
So at this point I've given up, and all I want is my money back. A bank transfer should take no more than 3 business days, but of course I waited 3 weeks for them to return my money. When I followed up the refund I was given blunt replies, and told that it was with their accounts team.
Altogether this process took almost 2 months. 2 months where I was out of pocket. 2 months stressing over their mistakes. (I only gave them 1 star so I could post this review, they don't even deserve that)
26 emails back and forth over a laptop under 6 months old that had to be returned/repaired due to faults TWICE. I asked for a refund as I cannot afford to have this laptop keep breaking as I m currently a uni student. Still wouldn t give the refund. Thanks for nothing.
Be wary, buying a product is one thing. Dealing with their customer service centre (who are not the nice sales guys) are another thing. Blame games and "I didn't know", "it wasn't me". Took in a faulty product and it wasn't a great experience. There needs to be more conversations between the two sales and support, there's a big disconnect. Also not the nicest, the service guys aren't trained to deal with people. Should be aware of their own offers/products, dismissing something like not knowing an OS (with upgrades for a year is on offer) with "oh there's thousands of products" probably isn't good enough to keep competitive.
2nd time around and im more disappointed, came in today to buy an lg external burner, no stock. this is the last time i bother with this joint. Absolutely hopeless, they don't even stock a simple y-cable for external HDD. Guy was rambling on about not needing it as the normal cable supplies power to HDD, this isn't always the case especially when its hooked up to other devices that don't give enough power to power an external HDD through 1 USB port, thus needing the y cable to insert into x2 USB ports to provide the sufficient power to power an external HDD
Price same as most but they do hold a fair bit more stock. Downsides are a total lack of answering phone calls ("too busy with in store buyers to bother" was literally what I was told) and they charge 1.2% fee for Visa use, whereas Scorptec do not. Otherwise good.
Charged me $90 to look at my computer and say they can't do anything then went back the next day to pick it up and even though the store was open, they couldn't go get my computer because the mac section was closed for the day. Great business model..... what a joke
I would like to give this store a -ve rating if possible. The staff are rude, do not have deep technical knowledge and are least bothered about customer experience.
Terrible and Fraud customer service. Ordered the wrong product by mistake. Called up within a day for exchange of product. I offered them to all postage fees. As i didn't want them to be out of pocket. As per there fraud policy they charge restocking fees which so old school fraud from businesses. Hope they get there act together for future customers.
I bought a gpu on 2/2/20. It turned out to be faulty. I contacted Centrecom and they sent a paid postage label and I sent it back and had a replacement in less than 2 weeks. Only ever had good experiences with centrecom so I'll definitely be a returning customer. Thank you!
So my shopping experience itself at Centrecom has always been fine. However what is flat out not fine is that this business send marketing and advertisement messages via SMS. And despite replying stop to the number they provide i still get them. Not that i should have to opt out of spam anyway. Scummy business practices. Furthermore, they send them from a name not a number so my phone cant just block the messages.
Good prices for the stock they have. Reasonable sevice although one employee refused a customer enquiry citing he was busy. Online stock availability is also inacurate and phone enquiries went unanswered. From the 3 occasions lately their checkout system has been painfully slow. Not what I would expect from a technology supplier. They could certainly improve.
