Had to go here a few months ago, and I got in around 10:00 pm and didn't see a doctor till about 1:30 am
Great staff with easy check in and check out. Friendly, loving staff, nurses and doctors. I had a great experience.
Staff was very professional, yet caring, answering any and all questions thoroughly and satisfactorily
The ER staff was amazing and they even called later to check on me. Everyone was so nice, we drove from Kennesaw to Cartersville since i had my shoulder surgery there. I had such a wonderful experience. Rosie was super friendly putting me at ease along with the other nurses. Thank you so much
I will never visit this facility again, I wouldn't take my dying dog here. This place has horrible medical practices. I went in for X-Rays and serious lacerations. They didn't even give me a bandaid. Told them I was allergic to Penicillin and they gave me a prescription for AMOXICILLIN. WOW. DO NOT GO HERE. I HAVE FILED FORMAL COMPLAINTS WITH THE STATE AND I WILL NOT STOP.
Who in the hell send a sepsis patient home because they have no beds???
CARTERSVILLE MEDICAL CENTER because of a patient has no insurance, THEY BE SURE TO THROW THEM OUT WITH A LIFE THREATENING ILLNESS! I'll be sure to be calling every news channel to let them know. Everyone STAY AWAY FROM THESE IDIOTS
I have been here for almost 6 days now. The only reason I came in 1st place is because I thought I was having a heart attack. Turned out it was acute pancreatitis. I was admitted & told specfic treatment would be fluids & pain control. They loaded me up with saline solution & started complaining the very next evening because my stomach was extremely swollen. One particular RA ignored my concern, so I called RA leader into my room the 3rd night & showed her. She couldn't believe it! I asked to be weighed & had gained 24 LBS of fluid weight in 3 days!!! She immediately took it upon herself to lower drip from 250 to 150. She must have let someone have it bc the 4th morning, I was having all kinds of test ran & fluid was lowered to 50. After 3 rounds of diuretics & 5...going on 6 days from day of admittance, I'm almost back to my normal weight. The doctors are so slow to respond & slow to enter orders into the system. If it weren't for much of the nursing/pct staff, I don't know what would have happened. I'm so ready to leave & will demand to be transported to Wellstar Kennestone tomorrow if they do not release me. The GI doctor put me in this condition. I should have been out of here within 3 days tops.
Every time I am in the ER I get paired with a nurse by the name of Whitney. This time I came in with my mother who needed immediate medical attention..aka the British Souvenir lol.
Whitney is hilarious first of all and secondly very friendly and professional. This time she was assisted by another nurse by the name of Sara who was so very sweet and helpful. I can not say enough about Whitney and although I hope I won't need to visit the ER any time soon, I do hope in the event I do that i am able to have her look after me.
I can only speak for the Maternity/Delivery care...SO IMPRESSED. After having our first son at Kennestone, we switched to Cartersville for our 2nd to be closer to home and to (hopefully) receive better bed-side manners.
While the amenities/interiors may not be the most upgraded and prettiest to look at, the customer care we recieved was superb (which was more important to us).
Every single person who we interacted with during delivery and postpartum care was absolutely fabulous. Extremely kind, considerate, thoughtful and helpful. We never felt rushed or uncomfortable, which is the opposite of our first childbirth.
I couldn't say enough wonderful things about these nurses, doctors, volunteers, and employees who truly made an imprint on us. THANK YOU!
Overall, the staff was very professional, friendly, and did a good job of explaining the process. The wait for blood draw at pre-op was about 45 minutes, but the lady checking people in did all she could to expedite the process. I was not pleased with the anesthesiologists.
Three different people came in and introduced themselves as my anesthesiologist. I was discharged from recovery before I was conscious. I did not wake up from the anesthesia until about 2 hours after I was discharged. Other than that a good experience.
I was brought in via ambulance after a car wreck and had a short stay in the ER before being sent home. The nurses and doctors were all nice and professional and I don't feel like I had a bad time at all. I'm thankful that this hospital was here.
I went to the emergency room, with pain in my arm on March 30, 2017. I did not know I was having a heart attack and had to have two stents put in my right artery in my heart, which was completely blocked. I would like to say "THANK YOU ! !" to the Doctors, Nurses, and working Staff for the care they gave me during my time there. My family was kept informed of the procedure and the discharge requirements to follow. I found the hospital clean and staff to be nice, friendly, and courteous!
Currently being seen in the E.R. and the nurse practitioner Rosie is very unprofessional. She declined to explain to me the side effects of the medicine she was giving me and also stated she wasn't going to go back and forth with me. How are you educating a patient when you don't want to give feedback of treatment? I would advise people to stay away. They don't care here. They really lack customer service and I will be filing a complaint. They don't even deserve the 1 star.
I was admitted to the ICU after experiencing high blood pressure in the ED. The doctors and nursing staff worked diligently to get my BP down while I was in the ED. They were unable to stabilize my BP so I was taken to ICU to have treatment to prevent me from having a stroke. I was in ICU two days and released. All of the staff was very professional and took very good care of me around the clock. The care I received was excellent from the time I was admitted to ED until I left ICU. I was treated like a family member. I felt comfortable and safe and knew I was receiving quality care. I would definitely use Cartersville Medical again in the future. Thank you all for great care.
Worst urgent care I've ever been to! No One cares they don't check in with you. They Give you some bs script after running cat scan, xray, blood test and then tell you they don't diagnose in the e r department. Go find a primary doctor. F that emergency room wish I could give them 0
Unfortunately we have had to visit the Cartersville Emergency room four times this year. One of those times were followed by an admittance. In each and every case the staff at Cartersville has gone above and beyond to make us comfortable. They attended to my husband quickly and spent a great deal of time with him. We didn't feel rushed at all and they stayed in his room until all of my questions were answered.
This last time the resident Dr offered to call me with an update knowing it would be unlikely I would be present when he did his rounds. The nursing staff is so kind its hard for me to put into words the appreciation I have for them. Tonight my husband requested hard candy .When I asked where the gift shop was and his nurse informed me the shop was closed without skipping a beat his head nurse handed me her personal candy for him. I'm not quick to write reviews and if this had been an isolated incident I wouldn't have. Four visits, excellent care each time. Thank you all for what you do everyday!
My girlfriend and myself sat in the Er for 3 and1/2 and people who showed up after we entered were seen before her. I'm pretty sure people are supposed to be seen as level of trauma or injury. I wouldn't go to this Er if I was u.
My Amy has been here twice and both times she liked the place. The second time she asked to be taken here and not to Kennestone. I looked at some of the other reviews and my favorite is Cecil who complained about visiting hours. It would seem they were more concerned with what they could do and not so much about the welfare of the patient. As far as I'm concerned you people are ACES!!
The employees have all been very nice and helpful, and the hospital is clean and nice, and they even provided recliners that unfold into beds for visitors of the patient...the only problem we have had at all, is receiving meals for my dad that are not diabetic-friendly...they need better communication between the medical staff and the cafeteria, but overall, we are impressed!
I recently was admitted to the ER on Saturday about 12:30 P.M. I was feeling nauseous and having frequent dizzy spells. After a period of time medications were administered to relieve this condition. Then I was sent to have a cat scan to determine what was causing the intense pain in my abdomen.
It took about one to two hours to get those results. As I mentioned to the RN on duty, everything seems to be moving at a very slow pace. The results finally came in. The readings were unclear due to the massive amounts of inflammation present in the area of concern.
I gave you the history of my experience so you would have a base for my complaint. After everything above was complete, I was not admitted or moved to a hospital room for approximately seven hours!
Seven hours is a very unreasonable amount of time to wait for a hospital official to make a decision.
The RN agreed that it shouldn t be this way. No, it shouldn t. But it was..............
The ER needs to be evaluated in terms of efficiency and customer care. I will commend them for eliminating
the nausea and dizziness but the remaining time was handled unprofessionally.

My Uncle was seen many times by the ER from December 2019- June 2020 Cmc told him numerous of times he had a oral infection would give him antibiotics & send him home. Finally last visit they refer him to Emory where we find out in July
he had stage 4 Oral cancer! They do not care about there patients & take the time to find out what is really wrong with them!
I took my 15 month old son here with a 104.4 temperature we got into a room fairly quick but then had to wait 4 hours for the Dr to come in. When he came in he was VERY rude and rough with my son. He then proceeded to tell me there was nothing wrong with him. Needless to say I left and to him to the urgent care and found out he had a very severe double ear infection, upper respiratory infection, and double pink eye. I will never take my son there again
My surgery was 6/17 and the staff on the 3rd floor was awesome. They took care of my every need and I appreciate it very much! Thank you! Jaynie
Everyone seemed to act very professional yet compassionate and caring. The care each one exhibited was clearly extensions of who they are in their private lives, I'm convinced. The food, on the other hand, was awful! Too many starches and poor quality. If the food preparation had a drastic overhaul and improvement, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't get 5 stars.
If I could give a 0 I would. Lazy doctors won't even check patients out. This place needs to shut down. Go in there cause you haven't urinated in 24 hours and they say you look good and send you home. PLEASE SHUT THIS WORTHLESS BAND AID STATION DOWN. I called administration and she can't talk to me cause of hippa laws. That doesn't prevent you from filing a complaint you idiot.
Showed up at 3:30 and didn't even get back into a room until almost 8. Barely saw the doctor the whole time. Nurses ignored us. Overall stay was 12 1/2 hours. Completely ridiculous!!!!!
They didn't listen to my concerns. More worried about time and didn't properly evaluate me, and had the WORST bedside manner! Avoid this hospital!
Waited well over an hour for a nurse to answer a call light.
I broke my ankle in 2 places and dislocated it. My nurse in the ER, Maggie, was excellent!! She answered all of my questions and made me feel more comfortable. Then I saw the Nurse Practitioner, Jennifer, and she was equally as awesome as Maggie! She also answered all of my questions. I was 2 1/2 hours away from home when my accident happened and knew nothing about your medical center. I would highly recommend your medical center! Thanks again for a pleasant experience during my trying time.
I have visited Cartersville Medical Center many times for personal illnesses and with my children. I've had good experiences and bad experiences.
DO NOT GO! EMT blatantly lied and had the most unqualified, unintelligent, so called dr. that did nothing but harm.
My family went thru a tragic event at CMC. Which was made worst by the staff. A little empathy goes a long way. I will tell anyone who is considering going to CMC to drive the extra way to a hospital that would stand behind their mission statement. In pursuit of our mission, we believe the following value statements are essential and timeless.
We recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic worth of each individual.
We treat all those we serve with compassion and kindness.
We act with absolute honesty, integrity and fairness in the way we conduct our business and the way we live our lives.
We trust our colleagues as valuable members of our healthcare team and pledge to treat one another with loyalty, respect and dignity.
This was not the case for my family.
toilet in bathroom was too small and too low. I had back surgery and could not bend that low to sit on the toilet seat. A High chair toilet seat was provided, the opening on it was too small to sit on and properly aim my penis to urinate into the toilet properly. So most of the time most of my urine was on the floor, my socks, and my feet. And this caused embarrassment for myself as well as my wife. Not to mention having to get someone to clean the floor, change my socks, and wash my feet. I would have been better off having the high chair sit in the shower because at least there is a drain there. This caused much unnecessary stress on myself and family. The last day I was there a staff member lowered the high chair a couple of inches and the results were much better. This whole issue could have been prevented had there been an adult size oblong and proper height toilet in the bathroom.
For the most part the staff was professional and courteous.
I believe my room number was 327 but since it has been nearly 3 months since I was there I am not positive.
The staff was friendly and the class i had to attend was okay. A three and a half hour experience to have to reschedule pre-op because I have a life besides waiting at a hospital when I had an appointment. The good news is that I get to waste another day and my time to go back. I m not sure I want to have my surgery here. I never had so many issues between 2 prior surgeries, or 8-9 days off of work just for appointments for a simple surgery. Frustrated and may just cancel all of this.
I wanted to update my situation. I received a call from a manager and I m bad with names, but we figured out what went wrong, well her not we. Stuff happens and that s why I like the review system, because if I didn t leave a review of truth, it may not have been corrected. The staff quickly found a solution, and I think that s all anyone can ask for. Mistakes happen; but it shows a lot to me when the issues get resolved. I updated my rating. I m not having the surgery I need, but that s another story.
Love the E.R. experience! Which is why I was so disappointed in Labor and Delivery. My doctor keeps sending me in only to have the nurses send me home. Fully expecting to return this weekend once symptoms don't go away to find out one of my babies has passed. I don't feel that the nurses care about my well-being or that of my unborn children. Every time they send me home after belittling me for coming in at the direction of my high risk doctor my doctor sends me back. Really wish I could deliver at Northside in Canton where I had no issues. The labor and delivery is always empty and all you hear is nurses laughing while you have to wait on them to tell you news on your situation.
A truly horrendous place to be. Staff is very rude and inconsiderate. I couldn t get a straight answer to any questions regarding my health. Entire process was very lengthy and I hardly received any help. I would not recommend this center to anyone. If you value your health and want helpful medical attention, this is not somewhere you want to be. What a waste of time!
Went to the ER for fever and back pain. (I am a "kidney patient" -only 1kidney) After they ran tests they told me nothing was wrong with me and they sent me home. I followed up with my personal doctor the following week, still in pain and still with a fever, who discovered I had a kidney infection. But that's not all!! I got a bill that included $860 FOR A PREGNANCY TEST and a $336 for a medication I NEVER received!! I know I didn't because I am a KIDNEY PATIENT and that medicine is known to cause KIDNEY DAMAGE! I requested - and after the nurse told the dr my concerns, received - a more kidney friendly medication. Upon reciept of the bill, I called the billing office to discuss and was told they would review the account. Several weeks later I received a letter stating the charges were correct. I called back and again explained that while the pregnancy test charge is outrageous I did get a test. However, I NEVER received the medication and if they insist that they gave it to me I planned to look into legal action, since I specifically refused the medication!! At that point I was told the account would be turned over to a "research" department. A few weeks later I called back and was told my account was on "hold and under review". A few weeks later I called back and was told the account was still on hold while it was being investigated by a "special NON-CONTACT unit" (I could not speak to anyone in that department directly) and that I would be contacted when the investigation was complete. WELL I JUST GOT A CALL FROM A COLLECTION AGENCY! This is ridiculous!!! BEWARE - insane charges (and I do have insurance) and shady billing practices!!!!!
Why Go anywhere else? This Hospital Saved My life and I would take my family in a heart beat. Clean, friendly and very knowledgeable staff . I would trust CMC over going to a Busy CITY hospital where you really are just a Number. The staff and Nurse managers checked on me and my family and even brought me a laptop so I could watch a Football game that wasn't on TV. NOW THAT that shows they really CARE about their patients~ Thanks CMC
Hi I was a patience there 2.6.19 I stayed in room 340 the staff was amazing Jessica ,Sarah Nicole and my housekeeper all was awesome they took very good care of me now my mini doctor Sarah I though she was a doctor the way she explain everything to me she need to be the head nurse she loves her job. I told her she need to be a doctor Dr McDonald is my new best he fix me I want to thank Brandi. BJ and the really nice lady that took me to do my xray omg she is amazing sorry I forgot her name please tell the staff that took care of me doing my stay thank u and keep up the good job they are doing thanks
Short wait times, bull. Got see by nurse sent back out, then waited, then registration, then long wait . 2 in afternoon on Tuesday. Needs lots of work. People getting paid good money to stand around. How do I get a job here.
Pain level a 9 out of 10. 3.5 hours without any application to pain. during the 3.5 hours they sent someone out to try to take CT scan 3 different times and realized each time that no one has started the IV for pain yet was going to take care of that . Stated someone would be with you shortly .stated there was 5 people in front of you. I was sitting next to someone in labor that had been there for 5 hours and another person waiting for 6 hours and another for 4 hours . It would be expected to give way to ambulance those bleeding severe accidents ect.. but that's not the case . Standard procedures for processing is severely flawed here. Everyone does one thing and no one else knows what the other is doing it like handing someone a peice to a 1000 peice puzzle and asking them what the puzzle picture is smh. . It's not the doctors faults it's the management and procedures poor s.o.p. and documentation and it's sad excuses starting with a gaint sign that reads average wait time 10 min...false on every visit attempt.after being bumped into three times - twice by nurses due to the lack of room for wheel chair patients at end of chair rows in waiting room, the pain was too much to continue waiting and left without treatment in more pain than when I arrived.
Had a terrible experience, not even personal. Observational. Had a family member who was in extreme, excruciating pain in her chest, shoulder, and back. All they did was take vitals and blood work and then she sat for 3 hours in the waiting room. You think heart attack protocol would be kind of high priority and not making a possible heart patient sit there for 3 hours.
We have been here since 745pm its now 1155 and we just got in a room. Very slow to see someone, hope we don't die
I have came to your facility twice as of January, the first visit was concern due to bleeding after getting a positive pregnancy test. Everyone was very nice but the ultrasound tech was extremely rude and made me feel even worst about my situation. The second visit I found out I was having a miscarriage the doctor was absolutely amazing and very patient, as well as the nurses. I am from Tifton and I would have never got this kind of treatment down there, your facility is great.
So i walk in the er and tell the man stephen that i need to be seen for strep throat. He says so you know you have strep throat why come to the er? I said because i do not have insurance, he does the paperwork and says . Yeah because someone sooner or later pays for you coming to the er.. i respond yes me but i just pay more.
How dare you be so rude. Im in need of medical attention, thats your only concern. Sorry i camt afford to get insurance and go to doctors office.. this is why this hospital gets such bad reviews. Keep your personal comments to your self.
Worste hospital ever. I went in with what i thought was a bad spider bite. I had a temp od 104.1 chills and upset stomach. They sent me home. I passed out the next day. My husband took me to wellstar come to find out it was mrsa and the infection was now in my blood. I spent10 days in icu thanks to them ignoring me.
With a broken ankle ,I was in a lot of pain. All the staff from ER to xray technician and Doctors and Nurses made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed .Highly recommend Cartersville medical center.
Immediately talked to doctor. Vitals taken pain medication given. Registration done. Sitting in waiting room for over 4 hours now. Website said wait time is 24 minutes at 10:30 p.m. and 33 minutes at 3:30 a.m.
From the moment I stepped in, they treated me professionally and with concern. Every test was ran to see what was causing my abdominal pain and an injection for pain was administered. I would go to them again if ever needed.
I came to the hospital at 10pm in atrial fibulation the front desk nurse refused to send me back then the nurse left me in a room another hr with out checking my heart and then the charge nurse walked In called me a baby because I told her I wanted to see a doctor. Then she tried to get at my husband after calling me a baby. She called me a 2 year old eveything. This women was crazy all I wanted was a doctor. They didn t even care about my heart they called me nasty names the whole time. The night shift suck at cartersville. I have a deadly heart condition and what they said and did to me was wrong.
Patient just had surgery. Had to have test done for heart..sorry not sure name of the test..had to walk a long way..no wheelchair was ordered .. someone coming in for heart related issues does not need to walk that far with no assistance..plus the girl walked way ahead.. you need to improve this..disgraceful
I had to take my daughter to CMC Emergency room May 23 11p for vomiting and dehydration. She was sitting in the waiting room vomiting bodily fluids in a wicker waste basket we bought from home. When I asked the receptionist if we could have a more private spot I was told "there is no room." When we were called back for her vital signs to be taken I asked the nurse if we could stay in the back because my daughter was vomitng her guts out and I was told NO... I HAD TO GO BACK TO THE WAITING AREA...with a wicker waste basked full of vomit.
When we get to an ER room we sit for a while...now mind you...my daughter is dehydrated and dry heaving. Then when a nurse comes in...for the next 2 hours several nurses poke my daughters arms and hands looking for a vein...2 hours people...a Dr comes in takes a look at her and tells the nurse to go thru the neck if they cant find a vein...he never returns. The nurses continue to pokes my daughters hands looking for a vein. Finally they found a vein and left 2 other needles (not being used) in her hands for 3 HOURS...I have pictures. This is PITIFUL. Then the room is freeeezing...my daughter is cold and I am cold. They give us a couple of warm blankets after REPEATEDLY asking for them...it is still freeeezing...WE ARE TOLD WE CAN HAVE NO MORE BLANKETS.
We have been in the hospital several hours now...I go out to the rest room to wash my hands and face and there is a drunk ***hole in the ER hallway cussing and staggering arounD the ER sayng rude comments to me and anyone else around...wheres Security?
When I come back from the restroom they were in the room getting ready to wheel my daughter out saying the need to check her stomach. They return in a bit...I am not told what the flip they are doing; I dont think they know what they are doing. I ask what is wrong and am not given an answer.
Another doctor comes in looks at my daughter and leaves. 8 hours after being in the most God awful conditions a doctor pokes her head in the room and says she WAS going to release us BUT a more urgent emergency came up. Really?! Enough is enough...I went to the nurses station; told the head nurse my daughter needed to go home and was told that she could not release her. After I told her we were going to walk out if she did not release us and I was going to report the hospital she released us
A few days later I get a bill from the hospital and I call my insurance BCBS and I am told my hospital (only) ER visit is $11,000 plus dollars!!! Really?! for what?! I am livid; reporting the hospital for excessive charges, horrible, unethical, unprofessional, unorthodox treatment. This is a crime against not just my child BUT all the people that need care.
I am Praying that maybe now I will get a return call from the CEO of Cartersville Medical Center...something needs to be done about these excessive charges and LACK OF medical attention. Deserves a MINUS STAR for ER care...that was not available; of course
Laura Weaver
This hospital is terrible! Yet again a horrible experience. Not having decent medical services in this town has now got my wife and I selling our home. I wouldn t take my dog to this hospital having experienced what my family has here in the short time we ve lived in Cartersville! Go in with chest pains and extremely high blood pressure (stroke level) and I m sent back and forth back and forth on foot to the waiting room or an examination room. They did some tests and claimed to have found nothing wrong. I m glad my wife had enough sense after her own terrible experience here to take me to Kennestone for a second opinion. This hospital needs shut down! I could ve died and nearly did!!!!
I liked nothing about my experience here. The only reason I gave it 1 star at all is so I can write a review. My daughter was taken by ambulance after having a seizure at work. They gave her a ct scan. Shortly after the nurse comes in telling is they were getting her discharge papers ready. The doc never came in to tell is about the ct scan. I asked for pain meds for her head that was hurting from hitting the floor not once but 3 times. It wasn't till the nurse came in to release her that I got to actually tell her in person that she needed something for pain. I wouldn't even bring my dog in to this hospital if she got sick!!!
I hate the Cartersville ER they put me in a nasty room that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time then they tried to put an iv in my arm but couldn't they stuck me 8 times and failed I told them to stop because they were gonna keep sticking me I'm never coming back
Let me just start out with my husband had his 600 lb Harley slide off the bike trailer onto his arm trapping it between a pole and the bike, it was noticeably swollen, as well as elevated blood pressure (168/111) bc of the pain alone. Triaging system was great loved the triage nurses. And all good ended there. We were brought back to a room with food and Band-Aids, old ivs and food bags left all around the room. No nurse ever came, the doctor showed up poked his arm with two fingers (literally) and said we are going to do a splint and have you go to your orthopedist. Here we are two hours later no splint, no nurse (still never met her, don't even know who she is) and no Motrin, no ice pack. Nothing. We are still here, over two hours. I finally went up to the nurses station where three nurses and a tech were literally sitting talking for over 15 minutes. (Yes at this point I'm Petty and timing them) so I go up and politely ask if she could give me any kind of ETA on the splint she told me no it will be a few minutes bc they are very busy... After she finally looked up our orders and saw a splint and another nurse said oh I don't know how to do one. Are you kidding me this is your level of professionalism. That's supposed to reassure your patients they are safe with you. Then she promptly ignored me and continued having their conversation about how much sleep they got the night before. I am now looking, 32 minutes of not moving, yes seems very busy to me. And before you think I'm Petty, my mother is the an manager of a prominent local ers, my father is a lead paramedic with local county, and myself I have worked in medical field 10 years. I have never ever experienced the horrendous patient care as Cartersville medical center. I would not send a soul to this location until some major improvements have been made.
Had to go 3 different times because of a heart issue. Every visit went extremely well. Nurses and doctors were fantastic and made sure I was truly cared for.
Went for eye infection, hospital very quick to collect insurance information. Sat in waiting room for hours, never saw a doctor. This hospital billed insurance even though I went to a different hospital for treatment. It is unethical and wrong. Its one thing to bill for services rendered but not for sitting in a waiting area. I have notified my insurance company, this is about right and wrong.
Had an outpatient procedure in imaging performed. From the registration process through the entire procedure, the staff was informative and excellent to work with.
Zach at registration is kind and throughout. ER dept is very clean. Dr Ron has a wonderful bedside manner. Hakim with respitory is kind and caring also. He did put smoking in a different prospective for me, since i came in with asthma problems. Thank you!
We have all heard terrible things about this place. But we just had our first born here. The nursing staff takes it up a notch. They are great. Heather in delivery and hannah in post pardon they are amazing I'm so thankful for both. The night nurses were great too. I'm sorry I don't remember your names but I was out of it and trying to sleep every time we met. The nurses here really do go above and beyond. So thankful
The emergency room takes way to long, staff doesnt care and no vending machines!!!
Wife arrived at 3:30 in extreme pain from denegenrative sciatica. They only offered her a steroid injection & muscle relaxers. Seriously? We are not a bunch of loser, pill-popping meth-heads "shopping" for a quick fix. Wife is in dire need of help and they only offer her a band-aid. If you need emergency help, DO NOT go here.
People were rude, they didnt know how to do their job. My grandmother being a nurse i learned a lot from her. I had to tell them how do do their jobs. Terrible experience
My 3 year old son had a partially amputated finger (on a Wednesday). We were there for HOURS and they just left us waiting for forever. They finally did an x-ray and told us the bone was broken. After waiting 2-3 more hours after that, they put 1 stitch in to hold the fingernail down and wrapped it in bandages, and told me to call his pediatrician in 2-3 days for a follow-up. I called the pediatrician as I was leaving and they referred me to a specialist and scheduled it for the next day (Thursday). We saw the specialist who was HORRIFIED at the fact that they barely cleaned it, didn't set the bone, or anything. He set up surgery for the next day (Friday) at 5:30am. He had to set the bone, repair the nailbed, and stitch the finger on the sides back together. My son had to wear a cast up to his elbow.
Don't take your children here. They are horrible.
Very slow. But when I got care the ER Dr. was very thorough.
Wonderful professionalism from caring, concerned staff. Can't think of any way it could have been improved. Doctors and staff were thoroughly professional, so glad to have this hospital so close. They saved my life!
Was taken right in because I was an "active bleeder" from a cut on my finger. The doctor came in quickly, but it took a few minutes for them to gather everything. Doctor and nurses explained each step of the process. Overall visit was around three hours, but I was never "forgotten" or alone for more than 10 minutes at a time. Each time she returned the doctor apologized for being away so long. From what I could hear in the hallways, a cut finger was the least of their problems! Care and follow up instructions were detailed.
I had a good experience until the end. I wasn t in recovery long and I felt like they were kicking me out. I didn t really realize what they were doing. They asked if I needed to go to the bathroom and then next thing I know she was getting me dressed and carting me out of there. It bothered me bc I felt like I wasn t awake enough to go home.
Everything was easy and timeless. The staff was really great. Gave me a wheel chair both ways. Greeted with a lot of respect.
I was given very good service and was happy to be cared for in such a great way.
The techs and nurses the majority of which were top notch! Better communication with me from doctors that saw my husband would have been appreciated, with testing results, treatments, being explained to me since my husband was confused and unable to remember or comprehend the information, etc. Advanced notification of testing dates and times and telemed visits would have been greatly appreciated. Overall, adequate care and communication from nursing staff and help from tech.
The nursing staff were cold, uninterested and in a rush to get out of the room. After surgery not one person asked to help us as we tried to navigate the hospital. A horrible experience.
All the nurses and employees were terrific! Very impressed.
My second surgery here. I'm a bit biased as I work here but surgery was a breeze and all the staff was outstanding.
My case was not a life or death situation, but I had severe abdominal pains that caused me to actually cry out loud. When we arrived at the emergency room, no one seemed in any hurry or concerned about my excruciating pain. I had to walk to the small emergency room, because they didn't offer me a wheelchair. Yes, the doctor finally came in and took control of my situation and eventually, after 5 hours, a CT scan, and pain meds, I was able to leave the ER and go home with 3 prescriptions. This was a terrible experience for me and I will reconsider going back to this Emergency Room. As a side note and not really an issue was the color of the uniforms the nurses and staff were wearing - Bright Red. It wasn't a good choice of colors to wear in an emergency room.
On a previous visit to the Cartersville Medical Center's emergency room a few years ago, the care was the total opposite. They expedited my care with excellence, compassion and genuine care and that's the reason I went back, but maybe next time I won't go back.
Worst hospital in the area. A few of the nurses are awesome but the in-house "doctors" , the so-called hospitalists, are absolutely terrible. Arrogant, condescending. They obviously think the patients are stupid. Don't bother requesting a different doctor. Your request will be ignored - a violation of the Patient Rights. The ICU is absolutely terrible - noisy, questionable safety and hygiene practices, and a almost complete disregard of privacy.
I had all my paperwork for two tests turned in , had completed a Pre-check in, checked in, was sent to the WRONG location far away on the opposite end of the hospital, eventually that receptionist discovered the error, I walked all the way back, then was met with "Hmmm, I've never heard of that test, but I'll find out where you should have been sent. I waited, watched 4 people be called back over 35 more minutes, I looked at the time and realized I'd been at the hospital for an hour and 45 minutes and NOTHING had been even begun for either test. It was not my doctors fault, nor mine. I left. I will find a different hospital of lab that knows what they are doing and does it properly. My time is just as important as theirs and I expect to be treated such. By the way, I drove two hours to have these tests done.
Staff was efficient and knowledgeable. Very satisfied with the care I received.
Quick, knowledgeable and comforting, great work for a first time gal bladder scan.
The staff was great and they treated me like family. Waited about 30 minutes, not bad.
Sheila, the ultrasound technician who screened me, was phenomenal. She was professional, courteous, let me know every step of the process, and was friendly. I did not have to wait long and the procedure was quick.
I had a hip replacement done on April 9 by Dr Burnette from Georgia Bone and Joint at Carteersville Medical. Discharge on April 11. The surgery was very successful. I was very impressed with the high level of professionalism, attentiveness and friendliness of the nurses and medical staff at CMC.
My wife is a patient here on 3 north. Our main nurse on the day shift has been Mary. Don't let her fool you, she seems nice but if you ask for her to come to your room for a concern she takes her time. Sometimes over or more an hour to get there. Today is Friday 8-3-18, our room number is 341, I walked out into hallway and over heard Mary making fun of us to another nurse, about my wife's swelling in her legs, and the redness around the place where my wife had complete replacement knee surgery. I will never come back here or my wife for anything. Like I said don't let the nursing staff fool you, they are not what they pretend to be.
Kevin Harless.
Prompt and thorough attention for my 81 year old father when we came in thru ER.We came in for him being dehydrated with flu like symptoms on our trip from OH to FL. ALL staff very knowledgeable and Friendly. admittance and checkout, bloodwork along with fluid treatment super smooth! convenient to our route on 75S. They got us back on the road. ASAP.
My friend dropped to the floor in sudden agony and was soon throwing up and unable to get up off the floor. We went to Cartersville Med Ctr by ambulance. My friend laid on a gurney in the hall for quite a while before she was put into a room and there we waited hours for a doctor. I was very much afraid she had an appendix about to rupture--in fact that is what the EMT told us. So we were terrified in addition to her excruciating pain. My friend is usually very stoic and has high tolerance for discomfort but she continued writhing in agony and calling out for someone to help her. It was a nightmare. There appeared to be no effort at triage. My impression? The place is old, inadequate, and pathetically understaffed. And I'M A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL!
Had out patient diagnostic imaging. The techs and Radiologist are fantastic.
The staff are always very professional, yet personal and caring. Love this hospital!
My mother had a Hysterectomy and was treated awful by the nurses. The girl in recovery kept yelling at her and told her to shut up. Then my mom was placed in a room on the 3rd floor. Her doctor told her to call for a nurse so they can help her get to the restroom. She called and none of them wouldn t ever come. Sara Beth told her that is not their job. She said there job is to give medicine until the patient goes home. I feel these nurses and PCT all need further training on courtesy.
Four of my family have had superb care here over the years. Five stars to ALL the staff! Low WE wait times, clean hospital, FREE COFFEE during breakfast hours in cafeteria ( Cafe has low prices and high quality! Wow).
The parking lot is a nightmare to navigate, while dropping off a close friend for surgery and even for registration the parking lot is constantly full with that being said the volunteers and handsome young valet were more than friendly and helpful, and every member of staff was a pleasure to talk to.
I was seen promptly and received the very best care. Thanks to all.
Wellstar Paulding is the BEST Hospital in my area. I have gone there for over 20 years (both old & new location). They treated me great even when I used to not have health insurance & now I still receive the same exceptional care. Quality of care, cleanliness, and the BEST bedside manner are all outstanding. In particular, they are excellent at cervical spinal epidurals. Yesterday, I had to go to Cartersville Medical Center for an epidural & the stark contrast in the quality of care was shocking. NEVER go to Cartersville Medical Center if you don t have to. I have been to Harbin Clinic for one epidural & they are way better than Cartersville Medical but still no hospital compares to Wellstar Paulding. My primary care physician can no longer refer me to Wellstar Paulding Hospital for epidurals (but still can for other things) & I really miss that high level of care.
We visited the emergency room on 7/21 because my husband had extreme stomach pains. We arrived at 5:30am and were taken back to a room within about 30 minutes. Two nurses came into our room and took my husband's temp and vitals. They chatted among themselves and did not talk with us much at all to give us any insight. They took my husband's blood and were supposed to send it off to be checked. They quickly left the room and did not return. My husband, as I mentioned, was in extreme pain...they never asked if he needed anything to make him more comfortable (no pain medicine or anything to help his nausea). He was sweating and throwing up etc. (I was three months pregnant at the time, helping him all by myself, wondering why I even brought him there!). I went and got him a pillow and blankets because he was uncomfortable and freezing. Finally after I hunted down a doctor and asked somebody to remove the throw up buckets (for a 2nd time) the doctor came in. He apologized for the staff that morning and told us they had not sent the blood off yet (seriously!). So, we had to wait even longer. After an hour an ultrasound was ordered and we went to find out that he had gallstones. They said he should have his gallbladder out but that we would have to wait until Monday to go to the Dr. They dismissed us with medicine and told us to make an appt for surgery. Extremely frustrated and denied emergency surgery we went home. Might I add during this time we saw several other patients coming into the ER and be seen by Dr's and nurses. I later heard that they were helping the patients that did not have health insurance. FRUSTRATING! We went to the Dr on Monday and had surgery on Tuesday. Even she told us that she was AT the hospital while were were there and could have, and should have, done the surgery there. She told us, after my husband's surgery, that we should have had the emergency surgery b/c his gallbladder was in such bad shape. I would NEVER recommend ANYBODY go to the ER in Cartersville. DRIVE further for MUCH better service! Cartersville ER is crap!
