Takes 6 hours every time we go. Not very helpful. Ever.
Always helpful and friendly staff. I wish I got the name of the lady that helped me just not, I had something stuck in my airway at work and she talked me through it and calmed me down. Very very sweet and helpful lady. Thank you hope you see this. You are awesome.
The ER staff was knowledgeable, quick, and extremely friendly. Everyone from the check in to registration to the PA, nurses and techs that I had interactions with were concerned about my pain and getting me places quickly and comfortably. I would definitely go back.
By far, the worst hospital I have ever been in. There is no triage for the ER, the nurse did not read my mother's chart for testing and orders, nor did the doctor, also known as "hospitalist". The hospitalist diagnosed my mom with food poisoning. When my mother asked questions, the hospitalist stated she did not read the chart, review any orders or test results, and was unaware that a surgeon wanted to order tests and consult.
Once the hospitalist read the chart and reviewed the test results, she determined my mom had a UTI.
The ER doctor stated she had a Kidney Infection, the hospitalist diagnosed her with food poisoning, then a UTI. The surgeon diagnosed a gall bladder infection and stated she needed surgery.
When the surgeon was asked about the UTI/Kidney Infection, he stated she could have this, in addition to the gall bladder infection, however, he had not read her chart.
How the medical staff can do their job without reviewing the patient's record is beyond me.
Run. Drive the extra distance. NEVER take you or your loved one to this hospital.
This hospital has come a long way since I was a teenager. I give the hospital 5/5 and the ER 2/5 stars. My wife came into the ER after her primary doctor (and our insurance nurse hotline) told her she needed to get to the ER immediately. Her right leg was basically paralyzed and she had not had a bowel movement in a while. She could not walk and she been crying and screaming in pain the last few days and nights, unable to sleep. She already had an X-ray the previous day ordered by her PCP and we knew she needed an MRI to see what was wrong. We were told that the MRIs needed to be reserved for more serious emergencies. She was told: "Unfortunately, all you have is pain...We can give you pain medicine, but we do recommend you go to physical therapy." The ER doctor that told us this (I will not mention her name) was very polite, attentive, and caring. I am sure she was probably just following the standard operating procedure. I called Georgia Bone and Joint while still sitting in the ER and made an appointment for the very next morning with Dr. Nwasike. After 15 minutes in his office, we were ordered to go immediately back to the hospital to get an MRI. After the results came back she was immediately admitted to a room on the 3rd floor. This is where the we were introduced to the pleasant and professional side of Cartersville Medical Center. The nurses and PCTs were amazing. Robin, Jan, and all of the other nurses (with the exception of Mary) were such a blessing to my wife. Empathy emanated from their presence. Alecia, one of the nurses, was an absolute angel; I credit her for keeping my wife's mental and emotional stability intact during our stay. Amanda, Jeffery, and the other PCTs were gentle, professional, and very personable. They were such a comfort to her going into surgery as well as helping her recover after surgery. I think that Mary, one of the nurses, is very knowledgeable, but should probably find another line of work. Perhaps she is "on the spectrum", or has what the DSM 4 would call "Aspergers". She is impertinent and discourteous. She complains about the patients to the student nurses in front of the patients. I will not let one bad nurse change my overall opinion of the hospital (or a bad ER protocol), so I give Cartersville Medical Center 5/5 stars. One more positive note...being in facility maintenance (HVAC/Plumbing), I notice things...this hospital's facilities are in tip top shape. Kudos to their maintenance staff! Thank you CMS for coming such a long way over the years!
Ended up in the ER while on a trip to Ga. So, I called to get my medical records sent to my own doctor. Brandy Burchett and I emailed forms back and forth to get my records sent to my doctor. Authorizing forms etc. That was on July 15.
Finally get in with my doctor today on August 6th to find, she didn t bother sending my records. My visit, that I FINALLY got in to see my doctor and try to get medical help, was unsuccessful because she didn t send my records! My doctor couldn t help me because he needs those results, of course! Thanks for dropping the ball. Horrible!!
Professional and courteous. Update: recently had outpatient surgery. All the staff exceeded what I expected for my situation! Best experience I've had at any medical facility! Thanks for the awesome job!!
would have given it 0 stars if that was an option. We went here one day around 11:30 pm. We were visiting some family friends on the weekend, and my 6 year old son was up late playing. After falling and hitting his head on a coffee table, and needing stitches...we immediately left, in the pouring rain, and headed to the first hospital we could find.... unfortunately for us it was Cartersville. They were currently remodeling and we couldn't even find our way around to the ER section of the hospital. I put his name on the sign in sheet and told them that I had a 6 year old with a head laceration and they gave me the papers to fill out. I got to our name and address when I overheard some state that they had been there for over 6 hours. I immediately got up and went to the front desk to ask how long the wait was. I was told it was over 8 hours. Well, at midnight, in 8 hours the urgent care center I work for would be open. I was not waiting with my child who's head was bleeding for 8 HOURS. Also, the recommended time frame for stitches is not to exceed 6 hours. Regardless, we left. A doctor I know met me at my job and did the stitches for us, at midnight. All was well. Until I got a bill for $300 from Cartersville. I explained to them that this was not allowed as I work in billing and coding and there was no history, exam, or decision making for my son (the 3 components of an office visit) they told me to only come to the ER if it was truly an Emergency and that anytime you wrote your name down on the paper you would be billed. I told them I would get the insurance commissioner involved and they wrote off the balance. I will NEVER go back... If I was dying, I am pretty sure I'd just say my prayers and let it be before I walked back into this hospital.
Myself, my husband, my brother and many other family members have had need to use services of this ER and hospitalizations over past 14 years. I can't be more impressed with everyone we encountered: the doctors, surgeons, nurses, technicians, lab personnel, food and cleaning services. Should the need ever re-arise Cartersville hospital is our families #1 choice
Could not have experienced better care and service ANYWHERE!
sitting in ER now with my wife. She is in terrible pain and absolutely can't walk. They are taking people in who are looking for drugs and walking around like nothing is wrong. Basically being treated in waiting room.....
The service has been great i am ip here with my fiance we just had our first son, i have been here time and time before and all experiences were good. The only bad thing is i cant get the t.v guide channel for the tvs in the room.
Very upset ... I am at the hospital as we speak . My 12 yr old daughter is in severe pain . They know this they had to help me get her out of the vehicle . We had to wait to get a room which was fine ... what's NOT fine is they called her name while we were in registration B . I told the girl they were calling her name she said I had to continue initial the paperwork. We are talking less then a minute from the time they called her and we finished . The dr walked out and took the guy that had come I. After us and gave our room to him. Seriously !!! So i said something to the dr she said she would check on it ... nothing happened . I talked to the man at the front desk and he said they will call her again . So who suffers my child .
Ok so I just want to start by saying even though now in 2018 the owner/CEO is not the same person it was 20 some odd years ago when my first BAD experience with "Cartersville Medical Center" hospital acually occurred but I'm starting my very lengthy review with that to prove just how long this hospital has had MAJOR ISSUES in hopes the new CEO gets a chance to read my review and if he means to become the CEO and pour ungodly amounts of money into our local Emergency Department to IMPROVE on the local citizen's experiences as well as their care and well being when it comes their HEALTH.... So in 1997 my mother came to this hospital 3 or 4 different times just for them to do test after test scan after scan to no avail any of the times she came with the complaint of her lower back hurting to the point of her being in tears and unable to walk on her own for them to tell her at the end of each and every visit she had "arthritis" and "she was too young to have any major problems" and sent her home with pain meds and anti-inflammatory meds. First off telling my mother she was too young to have major problems and her being 33 yrs old. is NOT ok with me when there are infants born EVERY DAY with AIDS & CANCER small children dying EVERY DAY with incurable DISEASES & ILLNESSES. Secondly after all those visits of them WASTING her time and money to tell her its arthritis and send her home after all the TESTS & SCANS they done on her, for my Granny (my mom's mom) to take her 1 ONE TIME to the Canton, Ga Hospital or Northside of Cherokee Hospital and them run the same tests and scans and have the ability, knowledge, passion for their job and their patients to tell 8 yr. old self and my family my mother at the young age of 33 yrs old had PANCREATIC/LIVER CANCER.... Not even 9 months to a yr later she died.... Now that, that is said lets flash forward to 2018 where now they have added onto the E.R and still adding and building onto the hpspital for it to become like the big hospitals on Atl. I've stayed my past night in this hospital with my father. In this stay I have noticed the Nurse's are rude and mouthy, they now lock ALL doors that lead outside to the parking lots are locked at a certain time except for the entrace to the E.R, the food thats served to the patients is apparently out of date/rotten meat (they served my dad's dinner and the meat served that afternoon smelled horribly, so much so his nurse commented on the smell said she thought it may be rotten and she removed the tray from the room and brought a different one back in), they no longer have coffee stations for the family of the patients the only one we found was in the cafeteria but guess what they close and lock those doors too at a certain time as well, and the only reason my father was basically kept over night was for observation and the fact the doctor's do not make rounds after a specific time so he had to wait till the next morning for the doctor to return (I'm sure at whatever time that overly paid, very rude, and lack of concern for the well being of any of their patients doctor decided to waltz into the hospital that morning) just to look over the results of his tests/scans and take every but of maybe 5 minutes to diagnose my father. When my father came in they said it was a small stroke to change their mind 30 mins later to IDK lets keep you over night and run some more tests. 3-4 yrs before this instance I had my ankle slammed between a metal box rolling assembly line and a cement pole and went to this same E.R they did x-ray and told me it was NOT broke but also in that same sentence DENIED me the ability to see me x-ray. They also sent my husband home with an extreme absest on his right jaw that swelled down his neck to the point of he could not open his mouth and they sent him home (absests can root to ur brain and kill u as well as shut off ur throat/airways once it gets so big) with NO antibiotics and ONLY Ibuprofen for his pain. His absest was to the point of where it was already stopping him from eating and started affecting his ability to breath.
They left my mother there all night never contacted the family .after a week we had to file a missing person report to find her. I called only to be put on hold and she hung up on me after I said they are the worst ER staff ever. They failed to give right info to other parties, they failed to contact family, they show no respect, this ER should be shut down its a complete joke .they act like children there they are all delusional. The doctors are a joke. The head of the ER tonight treats people like dirt. Send her home
I was here about two nights ago and I had a nurse named Karen and after her it was Wellington, and I saw dr Garrett I believe. They took the best care of me, smiles the whole time, sweet as could be to make me feel better!! They are AWESOME!! They Definitely take pride in their job and love what they do!!
It's a hospital which means you probably aren't the happiest when your there. The staff are friendly and competent.. and has great security in the evenings.
Staff were extremely efficient but also friendly and caring. My procedure actually was ahead of schedule and I felt very well taken care of.
This place is scary. I would not recommend this facility at all. It s unfortunate that I live in Cartersville and have repeated need to visit the emergency room because of my condition. I will drive to Canton or Marietta before going to Cartersville Medical Center. I would caution anyone from using this facility. I actually got worse when I visited the emergency room. I had a seizure in the emergency room on one visit after they had dismissed me. My blood Pressure sky rockets when I am in pain. They dismissed me with BP over 200. My boyfriend caught me before I hit the floor. I was then admitted. Had an invasive procedure done at another time and was sent home. Returned the next day with bleeding. Spent a week here. Of course nobody did anything wrong. The nurses in the ER do a valiant job, it s too bad they take orders from inept doctors. I say inept as I have not been impressed with any ER doctor. The doctor who was on duty the day of the seizure released me just as his shift ended. Wasn t even there to know he had messed up. Treated me again today, continues his inept ways. Will never come back here again. I have been in ER a few times and then admitted. That can be a problem as Dr s in ER go home before turning over patient to the floor...then there is no Dr. of record and all the meds stop and pain starts up and they have to call ER Dr. at home so I can get treated by other physicians. Has happened to me twice - laid in agonizing pain because there was no doctor with authority to treat me after being admitted. Stay away!!
Ok, so I had all I could take. If you can t tell I went to the ER at Cartersville today and it was such a horrible experience that I finally had to write the above review. Well, guess where I am now? That s right, Northside Cherokee ER. Dr. Seizure treated me again today (in Cartersville) Didn t listen to what I needed (big issue with their staff). So he ordered a bunch of tests that we knew were negative and never really provided any treatment and little if any compassion. So here I am in another ER receiving the treatment I need.
I had out patient surgery. Everyone was so very friendly and helpful. They showed that they really cared. Thank you all for your help. I will return if need be.
So came to the hospital 6/5/2020 was told by Rosie that I was fine just to see a GI doctor. She THOUGHT i had ulcers the only thing that was done for me was blood drawn and a cocktail and bentyl. No ct scan no X-ray no nothing. Not to mention my nurse told me that my white blood counts were a little high and that o had a UTI well when the doctor came in she NEVEE MENTIONED IT TO ME. She sent me home well 2 hours later I ended up in kennestone well guess what I e been admitted and waiting to have surgery I have appendicitis
Check In, wait time and procedure went smoothly. Excellent experience.
Just had knee surgery on April 1. They took good care of me all way around. Still recovering but getting better
I came in to the hospital for severe pain, numbness, loss of conscious, trouble awakening, confusion, loss of bowel and bladder control shaking and sweating and loss of vision I saw Dr. Daniela Katherine and all she gave me is ibuprofen and send me home. I came in confused and in pain and I left confused and in pain I am very disappointed in the medical system these days it s like now Dr don t care about patients or helping them anymore it s very sad. It makes me wonder way did they even become a doctor s?
Absolutely wonderful experience with all the nurses and the team that delivered our baby! They were always kind and helpful even in my emotional/hormonal state... They checked on us at appropriate times and gave us plenty of quiet time too!
So impressed by everyone we met!!! Thank you all on the Mother/Baby floor!
Spent 12 days there then discharged with no diagnosis. Poor quality doctors. Family doctor said to never go there again.
I have had several surgeries outside of Cartersville and this one at Cartersville Medical Center was the best experience I have ever had. I felt cared for from the time of registering for surgery, to being prepped for the surgery, the nurses in the OR and on the floor were all awesome and attentive to my needs. I was very pleased with my entire experience.
My grandmother was begging the Doctor to stop attempting to get a pick line in her vain, she was in so much pain from him trying to get a line in her vain she urinated on herself. She also pleaded to let her use the restroom before he attempted again and he refused. To make things worse the nurse was horrible towards me when I informed her about what happened. She pretty much stated that she had other issues to tend to. I asked multiple people who I can talk too about this and everyone seemed reluctant to inform me any exact person.
I had a scary by WONDERFUL experience! Dr Simmons is AMAZING and his staff is as well. Hope in his office is the sweetest thing ever. Down stairs in Imaging...they all are wonder as well. Danell is also AMAZING and makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. Thank you all! I HIGHLY recommend Cartersville Medical Center (Harbin Clinic). Lori
The only problem I had was that I didn't find out the results of the test until Monday.
Nursing floor staff is excellent. Most doctors are great. You should contract with a different ER group. This one is giving you a bad reputation. It's bad enough that we are NEVER informed that they are out of network as a courtesy. Our experiences with the ER have been horrible. And another thing, we are never going there again because you are in desperate need of a NEUROLOGIST. To heck with the teleneurologist, a bad one at that. What kind of an icu runs without a neurologist! I'll never go to your hospital again without a proper selection of ER staff, neurologists, gastroenterologists, and a few other specialists who don't exist, don't come to the hospital, or won't come to the hospital in a timely manner.
These folks wont pay their bills! Bet they charge the patients though.
I spent 6 lonely God forsaken days there. Overall, it seemed no-one cared. Everyone is overworked and communication is non-existent. From the nurses to the doctors (hospitalist) to each other and to me there was no communication. I did have a few nurses (3) out of the 10 or 12 that were there to "help" me that genuinely cared. The rest of them made me feel like I was bothering them at best. It was not unusual to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a nurse to come to my room after buzzing them for my pain medication. There were multiple times when no one responded at all. I got to see the doctor (hospitalist) once per day and on good days he actually spent about 3 minutes with me. I could not understand him (lack of english) and he was not interested in answering questions. If it were not for the pain medication (always late in responding) I would have been better off at home alone. I will NEVER go there again.
I was told many test they would do something and 9 out of 10 times it never got done. .They put me in a locked down room even though I was not a threat to myself or others.
I would rather have gone to a witch doc.
Very poor hospital.
I'm giving this Medical Center a 2-star rating because of the food being good and the nurses were very nice. I've had to be a Cartersville Middle School Center several times I've had four surgeries there and I went back for subsequent care after I had a colostomy bag put in there since I've gotten the colostomy bag the staff has been horrible far as treatment and care. I went back for several different reasons and was given the runaround and was even told that they didn't see anything on the CT scan when I had a hernia well the hernia got bigger and bigger and I went to two other hospitals and they said the same thing but I went back to Cartersville Medical Center and they said it again they didn't see anything. That's when I told the doctor that if he sent me home without any treatment or an explanation as to what my problem was then I was going to blow my brains out. They ended up sending me to a psychiatric facility instead of treating me and I said it out of anger because I wanted to know what was wrong with me and several different hospitals said they didn't see anything. The staff let me go home from my third surgery with a bowel obstruction that subsequently ruptured causing me to have to have a complete hysterectomy and a colostomy bag.
Awesome people at Cardiac Rehab! Sabrina and Dau are caring people, I look forward to going and working out with them.
The facilities and equipment are clean and well maintained.
My sister had major surgery, I called to get an update on her condition, was told to call back an hour later and they would be happy to talk to me about her condition. That was fine, so I called back about an hour and a half later and the nurse that answered the phone said she had had numerous calls about my sister and they couldn t take care of her if we kept calling. I told her I was told to call back by a nurse who said she would be happy to talk to me then, she then hollered for another nurse to talk to me. The nurse that did talk to me was very nice and informative, but the one before her was very rude, she even told me that our family should get together and have just one person call for everyone. The problem with this is I don t know who was calling up there and don t really care, my sister has a lot of friends from her church, and a lot of family, I don t know who was calling. I rarely see or speak to any of my family and I live five hours away from where my sister had surgery, I just thought it was very rude the way the nurse talked to me because I was concerned about my sister. I think the doctors are awesome there but I would rather be in a hospital with great doctors and nurses. One bad apple makes it bad for the rest of the nursing staff. I probably talked to much but I am very upset about this...
Ive had three surgeries at Cartersville Medical Center. They always treat you with kindness.
They did a CT Scan and one of the tech's clearly said that my Spleen is enlarged well the doctor never said anything to me about it. And I am still in pain. I believe they should have took it out.
If you value your life and health, do NOT come here. If the closest hospital is in Alabama, make the drive. I'm telling you, this place is a joke.
friendly, knowledgeable , wonderful nurses, Dr rheme, gohe, Burke,& harrison,Dr.kim -( all three of them !! lol ) ( except dr. Mulder, she is rude, unprofessional, and just "unkind" in general) she honestly has the bedside manner of an arachnid. for the first time in my life, I left there in more pain than I arrived in !?!?
Excellent staff, very caring and thorough.
Good quick diagnosis and remedies. I was absolutely taken care promptly.
I want thank each and every one of them.
Broken toe. In and out in less than an hour. Great staff! Only bad thing is the room we were in needed sweeping.
I have never before encountered such a fantastic group of caring professionals in a hospital setting. Ever. The ICU staff and many others helped to make what was a horrible situation so much more bearable and comfortable. After 10 days on life support, we lost our teenage son, but Cartersville Medical Center will forever be a place that I would highly recommend to anyone. We could not have asked for anything more, as they not only attended to our son around the clock, but went above and beyond to accommodate our needs as well.
Ok I give zero stars. This hospital didn't care about my 1 year old son who had come in there. They sent him home!! Two hours later I had taken in to Floyd where he was admitted into the hospital with RSV. He stayed there for over a week. What was y'all doing just going to let my child die?? You doctors and nurses there are no good. You all should pay closer attention to your patients when they come in. Cartersville gives you pain meds and sends you home like that's all everyone comes there for. I should be getting a lawyer because of how y'all treated my son. This hospital is a joke
Would give 0 stars if I could! They are very good at referring because they don't know. A huge waist of time then they send you a huge bill for pretty much just taking your blood pressure!
I was here December 30, 2016 to deliver my child and had a great 5 star experience, but I had to change my review because I had a not so great experience this time on May 19, 2018.
Here is my 5 star review: "The Labor and Delivery nurses were all wonderful. We had our second child here on December 30th. My nurses were Cecelia (not sure if i spelled her name right) and Sarah. And Lauren was also one of my nurses. Everybody in the maternity ward was very helpful and I loved having them apart of our
child's birth. While I was getting my epidural done Sarah was very helpful and reminded me to breathe. The lead nurse Cecelia knew what she was doing for sure and she was helpful with breastfeeding as well.
Then we were moved to Mother Baby Care where Delana took care of us. She was awesome too. She got us what we needed. I wish I could remember the night nurses name. She was training a young girl and she was very helpful. The air was super dry and causing our child to not be able to breathe well, so she suggested hanging wet towels and it helped. The child was able to sleep after that. It was so good we had to wake the child to nurse her.
The only downside to this hospital from my experience with having a child is that the air is really dry. Bring a humidifier for the rooms and you'll be fine."
My updated review:
May 19, 2018 - I came in at 8:45 pm. It took way too long to have someone admit me into the Labor and Delivery. The admittance lady took forever. Came up on the phone, socialized with other coworkers instead of focusing on checking me in. Full term pregnancy - 3rd baby. Then once I got up to Labor and Delivery they also were super slow about everything. For some reason both nurses failed at getting a sample of my blood to get an epidural. I currently have a bruise on both hands and a bruise on both arms where they attempted to take my blood. I have never had issues before with someone taking my blood. That's not even the annoying part.
All the nurses left the room with me fully dilated and effaced and told me not to push. It's impossible not to push when you haven't had an epidural or any drugs. So they left the room and I had another contraction and pushed. He's head was now out. My husband had to go get these nurses to finish delivering this baby.
My midwife didn't make it to deliver the baby.
But once I was moved over to Mother Baby Care everything got better. I loved Naomi, Autumn, Dana, etc. I wasn't a big fan of Meg (our personalities just clashed).
Autumn took great care of me and baby. Naomi was super helpful too.
Had amazing care here. ER staff, cardiology and imaging. I highly recommend. I felt they had my health and well being as a top priority
Very thorough!!
This hospital and staff are Top Notch. They took care of my Larry and were the Nicest Kindest people. His hospital stay lasted 5 days and from the Emergency room to the 3rd floor we couldn't have been in better hands. Shout out to ALL staff we encountered - you guys are the greatest!! Dr. Simmons, Shayla, Mechelle, Jan, Jennifer, Delbra and EVERYONE ELSE we encountered there were highly competent, reassuring, and had a positive outlook and demeanor that calmed us in a very stressful time. Our daughter that lives in LaGrange was So Impressed with the hospital staff and cleanliness and condition of the hospital that she said she would travel from home to Cartersville Medical Center for any treatment or emergency if she had one (and she works in the medical field down there). I am so happy that we chose to go to CMC. They saved his life, provided Above and Beyond Quality Care, and caused my Larry to feel confident in his future despite the illness facing him. I cannot say enough good things about this hospital and the people that support the patient and their family like they are family too. So many good people to thank. Hugs all around to you guys. I couldn't begin to list them all because we didn't get all of your names but Know that we appreciate you. From room 337.
I have always had a positive experience every time I was there.Really short wait times in the ER. The staff is the greatest !!
Misdiagnosed my dad. Said he was dehydrated when he actually had Non Hogkins Lymphoma. Luckily, it was caught before he DROPPED dead. The Dr gave him 4 weeks... that's been years ago and he's in remission, we should have sued. Terrible hospital, terrible staff, and terrible reviews. Shut it down.
Everything about the experience was seamless. I was able to pre-register online, so the process at outpatient registration only took a few minutes. My pre-op labs were done quickly and painlessly. My procedure began and completed on time and everyone treated me like family. Highly recommend!
Great nurses and doctors who take pride in their jobs. Thank you for helping me despite my team affiliation. When it comes to life, Saints and Falcons can get along well with each other.
The nursing staff was impeccable. I was treated with so much care. The food was pretty good.
They cleaned my wound and poorly wrapped it. It started to leak fluid immediately and nothing was done. I had severe pain from the cleaning for the next 24 hours but was given no medication to take.
ER is run very professionally, cant anything bad, except we entered the doors, back in a room 5 mins. Room had no bed, was dirty all around edges looked like sheetrock had been redone, all types of pieces of paper on floor. Employee went nuts and found s bed,as my husband was suffering bad pain. Asap Dr Garrett and Burro came, talked to us, took him to have cat scan they 1st thought galdstones, that wasnt it, MRI done, nothing, ultrasound done, nothing showed up,and the colon scope prep med was determined to be the culprit causing pain, as test showed 56000 count,so it was pancreatitis. A room came open 3pm on Wed. I went home for bath,Thurs wee hours, Wayne said s lady dr came in, ask if he hurt, he says no,she said, well Im going to discharge yu as your enzyme count is down to 1250. When i arrived and heard this I went nuts. He had been on strong opiods since entered in ER, out like a light on the floor, where he was posted to have nothing by mouth,to starve thr pancreas and let it heal. I asked if he had been tried on water, or gotten up to go potty, or tried on liquids, answered no.I took him to potty, ordered liquids and a scrambled egg. She brought cranberry juice ,and said the kitchrn stated they couldnt do an egg after breakfast hours. I asked for applesauce, she brought it,he ate it,layer no pain. She told us 5 times, she was told to discharge him,and I said, when I see a dr. Not until. Then a lady brings in s tray with over fried chicken, hard bread hard as a hockey puck,a salad, juliened veggies, mac n cheese, and i asked if she saw the posting that read nothing by mouth? She left the tray anyway. Still no dr. I was told again, I am to undo the IV and discharge yu. She did, nurses were outside our 331 door, talking, that word had come to send anybody home they coukd, as ER was stacked. I finally gave in to take him home,She hands us a perscription for a pain med tramadol. I refused it as I knew he had been saturated with opiods since arrival. Still mo dr to discharge a seriously sick man, only a nurse. Nobody told me what to do for him, no discharge orders for home, for diet now or later, no what physically he can or cant do, no order to see another dr or a specialist. Nothing. I said go get me a wheelchair and well go. I was told they had none, but the precious asian nurse, who ran between my questions and answers from someone she only called. Dr said, I will go help yu get him to car. He hadnt been tested to stand alone or walk alone by anyone. She was the only professional on third floor,no doctors to ask questions , or give orders. She was a middleman for whoever was supposed to he on duty, and had Doctor by his name. I am getting in touch with the state, to ask why a hospital is room thus badly. Whoever makes decisions for your ER, needs to be administrator. That unit is on top of everything, had doctors there for us, keeping me in the loop about all they were doing, why, and the results. They were over run with cases of the flu, but those of us who needed quick results got it. Go to the ER, but if yu are to be admitted, ask for sn ambulance and go to Rome. After seeing gastro doctor we've been told, pancreatitis patients, usually stsy in hospital, on IVs, for min of 4 to 5 days, not 40 hours. My husband has lived thru a nightmare of pain and sheer neglect. J Swett
I am about tired of this hospital y all are suppose to take care of people but in this case your not. My grandma was supposed to have surgery today and y all canceled once again y all canceled a lot of her previous surgery s too she is in so much pain and if you don t fix it, it will get worse, I don t want to lose her over some dumb medical mistake I really had faith in you guys until that first time y all let her go home when she needed surgery. I m not being mean to the company but i Just her to get better and walk again.
Dr. Booker was phenomenal for my brother s surgery and took the time to make sure we understood procedures and what to expect. He was very thorough, but the wait time was unbelievable when procedure was set for 11:30 am and didn t start until 2 hours later and forcing my 8 year old brother to go without food for 24 hours!!! the staff was horrible about helping with directions in the hospital pointing you this way and that and not taking an extra second to actually show you. I am unsure as to why we could not have the procedure done at Floyd hospital like before.
If you have COPD Don't repet DON'T go there. I spent 3 hours there today. They ran all kinds of lab work that was not called for. An IV. Because I had been tested for covid last week I saw no reason to take it again. Plus they wanted a urine test. What dose that have to do with COPD or covid?. THEY ASUMED BECAUSE I HAVE COPD THAT I HAVE COVID. AND BECAUSE I REFUSED I HAD TO WALK OUT THE VERY BACK EXIT SO I DID NOT EXPOSE THE REST OF THE HOSPITAL. I THEN HAD TO WALK AROUND THE BUILDING TO MY WAITING RIDE
Vert goid care no problems very good at what they do.
My daddy came home after 12 days of hospital stay. He looked worse than he did when he went in. He was even crying cause the way they had under feed him for 12 days cold potatoes and mushed pork he looked like he had survived the Holocaust his ribs was showing he had no strength and he was powder white.
I was hospitalized 3 times over a 3 week period for Thyroid cancer. Every nurse, physician, PCT, lab tech, etc was amazing and friendly. I wish I could remember all of their names and thank them individually. I was a Wellstar employee for many years and thought wonderful things of Wellstar. However, my experience at Cartersville Medical Center was a far better experience than I ever received at any Wellstar facility. Keep up the great work!!!
The best thing a persist. can do is stay away from what they call this!!! A HOSITAL! TERRIBLE, AWFUL AND SHOULD BE SUED AND CLOSED DOWN!
Very courteous and efficient. Minimal wait time. Good experience on every visit.
The 3rd floor staff that was working day shift on 12/21/19 need proper patient care training. Called the nurse desk three times to get help getting back in bed from surgery.1hr 1/2 later No one ever came they just ignored the call. So the patient had to get up and move the HEAVY chair themselves in order to get back in the bed. Then when You ask for pain meds the nurses and staff all get rude with you. I asked for crackers and was talked to like a dog. You need to properly train your nurses and staff or shut the place down. People s insurance doesn t pay this hospital to be treated horribly.
Awesome experience! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
I have been very blessed for 10 plus years for Dr. Benny Smith and his staff. They have always been here for me no matter what the problem was. The whole practice goes above and beyond to make you feel part of their family, the atmosphere is calming , relaxing, and peaceful, and the choice of the music CHRISTIANITY is something that you do not find very often this day and time.
There are not enough words to describe the feeling I get when I walk into those doors, I know I am safe and everything will be alright. Starting with checking in all the way till you see Dr. Smith you can tell they are a blessing from God they truly care and enjoy their job.
PATIENT CARE - A+
STAFF - A+
PHLEBOTOMIST - A+
DR - A+
THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

Cartersville Medical is a sorry excuse for a hospital. The nurses DO NOT care whatsoever, and would rather make a joke of those who are at their most vulnerable state. If you really care about your loved ones, please make the 30-minute trip to Floyd Medical in Rome.
The staff were superb. I thank them for attending to me and listening to my condition. Their listening when treating a patient is outstanding. Keep up the great work. May God continue to bless your growth!
Dr. Murfree
Our experience was absolutely amazing! We had some unforeseen events occur but nothing was anyone s fault & the hospital staff took great care of us! Our baby had to be transferred to another Hospital & the staff made us feel very confident in their decision.
My husband went in and all went well. However the doctor upon discharge just exits the room without a by your leave or any further information. Her name is Dr Fray. I was not impressed with the facility
I was there 4 times in 5 days for severe headaches, vomiting and extremely high BP. Finally on the 4th visit they transfer me to Redmond Hosp in Rome. I seized again while I was in Cartersville and NO ONE was round to help!!!!!! I had swelling of the brain. They treated me like I was drug seeking!?!?!? I have my own meds!!!!! I almost died.
I would not recommended going to this hospital or anything serious!
I was coming here for about a little over a month for chronic migraine headaches, and they wouldn't even bother looking at it. No X-Ray, CT scan, NADA. The ER looked at my sign-in paper at the reason I was coming in, the time, my age, saw all of my tattoos, and saw all of my tattoos, and they told my just to go home and take Tylenol that I would be fine. Sure enough, they're the reason I'm in the situation I'm in now. That headache was a sinus infection, that turned into meningitis, which turned into epilepsy. This hospital will burn to the ground before I ever step foot into these doors again.
Unsanitary facility. Move into "new room" with blood spatter everywhere. Asked them to clean it and nurse put hand sanitizer down and rubbed with paper towel. didn't even clean for 2 minutes. They asked me my weight but wouldn't weigh me. Laziest staff I've ever seen.
This was the best experience from the staff to the cleanliness of the hospital. Southern Hospitality from the greeting to The escort leaving. I had a hysterectomy by Dr. David Warren and a big thumbs up to him.
My Dr was great, my care given by Nurses, even head nurses in CHARGE and CNA's was horrible. I am so thankful that my surgery wasnt that serious and I could for the most part take care of myself because there is no way a really sick , helpless, or elderly should be left in the care of the staff that was on duty at my time of visit. Matter of fact I will look for Dr's outside of my hometown area because I am to afraid of the care That wouldn't be given if it was needed. NO EXCUSE FOR THE FUSSING ABOUT EACH OTHER AND LACK OF TEAM WORK BY NURSES AND CNA'S , COMPLETELY SHAMEFUL.
Scam. Stay away. My daughter came for a repeat visit and we were told by the nurse who brought us back that the service needed was not offered on that particular day and that we should just leave and go to the closest urgent care. They didn't even take our temp, we didn't even sit down, but were then charged over one thousand dollars?!?!?!?! For what? I requested an audit and surprise...they came back and said the charges were justified! SCAM!!!
