How are these reviews so good? This place is ridiculous. Wait time is outrageous and all I see is everyone sitting around talking and it's not all about patients either! We had a room in the hallway everyone else was moved into rooms even ones that came in well after we did with patients walking around while my family member couldn't even walk! Just extremely tired and being told same thing over and over and over after awhile it really starts to make you fed up! Oh and I had to go find water and a container so my family member could since the blood out if his mouth 2 hours after we got here then had to go find a wet rag to get the blood off him. And to top it off was told if he needed to use bathroom that he would have to figure out a way to do it where he's laying! A 42 year old man, absolutely amazing in a horrible way. Take heed to these comments like this one that show a need to improve substantially.

I will never go back in my life they told me I have an abscess in my throat so they said they had to drain it I said ok I got poked 4times in my throat nothing came out so I said just give me antibiotics and let me go they said it's gone get wrose ect and now I'm better I don't understand how u go to school get trained and still fail just sad on the other hand it was just a sore throat no abscess

All the nurses did was talk about personal issues while I was sitting there with killer headache and possibly meningitis, way to go CMC

When my mamaw was there the nurses were rude and terrible and made her last days just painful they push her and made her hate it there. The staff is garbage and terrible and the room was dirt CVMC is a way better hospital.

If your pregnant this is not the place to go! The nurses Jennifer robin and Marty on the antepartum side of the 8th floor were great and deserve recognition but the doctor I had who is in his 3rd year of residency was horrible the doctors with maternal fetal medicine were a nightmare and the only reason I am having my baby here is because she has a heart ccondition and needs to be at Levines.

The Cardiovascular surgical team and ICU team are awesome. My grandfather had a heart procedure done and is doing great! The surgeon kept us updated during surgery and explained everything thoroughly to us. The ICU nurses were attentive, supportive and friendly. My grandfather is very optimistic and makes jokes with every situation and they all play right along like he s their grandfather as well! Thank you so much!

NEVER DO A STUDY!!!! I have seen my friends bills from last August and she is still fighting (from a wheelchair). She still has the paperwork that states her 'blood clot' shot are covered in the STUDY she VOLUNTEER IN and 1 year later they offer her 1/2 off and thats they best she will get according to management. So she has a bill for over $500 for shots she took as a volunteer!! She was supposed to get paid $40....that never happened which she doesn t care about. But the other option was 70cent asprin, but she wanted to 'help the hospital'. Please don't trust the studies they ask you to volunteer in! Its a hospital SCAM they want the insurance to cover and they wont touch a study!!!

Had my Baby here ! Then I decided to tell my story below,

This place is lovely. I had a weird allergic reaction of some sort so my lip flared. I tried to wait it out but decided to go to the hospital. I was prepared for a long wait and run around like normal hospitals. I got there at 330am and left at 6. The nurses and doctors were lovely, informational and cared. Once I signed in. I only waited 5 mins to be called into a room and maybe another 30 for the doctor to come. He was the only ER doctor one but very fast and professional. When I left the staff all said bye and feel better and just really help turn around my cappy night when I came there in tears!

The patient recovery rooms are really scuzzy and small. Very hard to feel comfortable and be with a patient for a long period of time.

Neurological surgeon here saved my life. I was closely observed in ICU in critical condition.

Some great doctors. But need to communicate with each other better. It's very noisy on icu floor people workers talking and laughing when patients are trying to sleep. Some rude staff when i ask them to turn the iv beeper off. She said my husband was moving his arm to much. REALLY. he has to . move She made another smart remark.. it's midnight and he still can't sleep..

Was in the ER for several hours and it was a rough start then shift change happened and the Charge Nurse came on board and she was the Best. Thanks Lori for your kind words and excellent care.

Awful awful awful experience. We have now been on here 8 hours for broke wrost. Yhey took the Xray 6 hours ago. They are so rude and incompassionate here. The lady Linda keeps ignoring me when I try to get information. Its almost time for me to go to work... Still NO HELP

Our Emergency room experience ~~ tiny waiting rooms were full..made family members sit in another area
My brother cant walk..the parking lot for er was full..I tried to park in front of the e.r. in the area marked "patient drop off". Three security guards came out and started yelling "you cant park there, there is ambulances" They told me to drive all the way around the hospital again. When I tried to drop him off again, the same guards came out and tried to tell me to park in the er parking and walk up. I told them he can't walk..hes injured and needs a wheelchair. They finally brought one out. I was smirked at and told to hurry and get him out of the "e.r drop off area" because ambulances used the lane. The employees are rude, but that's understandable..look at the system they are stuck with! We are still here, so I may have to post again with more bad experiences

I was at cmc main 5 mo. ago had great doctors and nurses everybody really cared about me. The place to be if you are sick.

Spent a long day at CMC Charlotte yesterday for my dad's hear surgery. His doctors and nurses could not have been nicer (especially Nurse Patti in Cardiac Cath(?) Post Op). My father has gotten great care- way better than PIneville location. I was moved here, there, and everywhere throughout the process, and had staff often walked me to my next location. A special shout out to Milton (transport) who was especially kind and sweet, as well as the hospital social worker who took time to lead me back to the correct parking lot.

The staff was friendly and they really took care of my mom

My husband was just treated for a stroke do to a blood clot on his brain. The neurology surgical team perforned a thrombectomy to remove the blood clot. The ICU staff was excellent and so kind to all our family during this stressful period. We are already home and my husband has regained all his functions.

I arrived in extreme pain and was seated in the waiting room. 4 people came in after me and were seen within 10 minutes. I had to come close to collapsing before being seen.NEVER GO HERE IF YOU ARE IN PAIN!!!

Very helpful polite compassionate very straightforward!!!!! Clean comfortable for a hospital. Everyone from lower paid on up to the top great!

The nurse that checked me in asked for an upfront 75.00 payment before they even took a look at me or given me service and I ve never been to a hospital where they asked for a payment before even seeing me I had dislocated my knee and no one tried to assist when getting from the chair to wheelchair or wheelchair to the bed for my xrays even though I was in so much pain but the doctor and nurse I had once I was in my room were amazing and very professional.

Unless you're a patient or work for the hospital nobody knows how to answer a phone there.

The staff were wonderful. From the parking garage to the front desk, to the security team and of course Neurosurgeon Anthony Asher MD and his team... ROCK!!

I went into the ER was sent to Ob Triage as well bc I was pregnant but was there for unrelated issues with my baby. But my doctor thought it best to go and have my baby checked as well. well while I was there waiting on them after I been transferred there. I can overhear the doctors/nurses in that department talk about patients making fun of them. thats horrible and disgusting. women call them for advice bc we are told to call if we have any concerns during pregnancy!!! and as soon as they "act" in a professional manner and hang up the phone they complain and make fun of those women. seriously how could they do that. it really frustrated me and is making me rethink having my baby at cmc.

You would probably be better off dead then to visit this hospital. Rude, dirty, unhelpful. Stay away

My daughter stayed on the 3rd floor for 3 nights and most of the nurses were not very attentive. I could not leave her alone due to the rudeness of these nurses. Rita was one of best nurses of the stay, she is caring and checked on my daughter throughout the night. The operators who answer the calls from the patients are very rude and un professional, sometimes hanging the phones up on us. Housekeeping did not clean the floors in the room any of our stay.The nurses in general are not friendly at this hospital. I did not feel welcomed at this hospital. My daughter did get better which is the most important overall.

Worst dr. And staff ive ever had to deal with its taken them 3 days to answer the single question of if i can get an extension on my meds untill I can see my specialist. This medication is dangerous to stop taking and theyve shown 0% urgency on the matter. The nurses suck and my dr didnt listen to me. Go anywhere else if you can. They dont care about you personally they just want your money. This is MEDICAL MALPRACTICE

I spent 2 weeks here being treated for a very painful spinal infection only to be treated as a pain seeker or dope addict when my pain increased. The little bit of pain medicine they had scheduled for me as needed, it was like I had to beg for them to bring it. I explained countless times that I prefer not having to used opioids but am open to it if pain is above a 7. They don't care. Do not go to CMC if you have a painful issue. They will leave you in tears just as they left me. Im not one to normally write reviews so u can take this advice to the bank. (I was on Med/Surg)

It was horrible. My father went to get a surgery for hernia. They released him without making sure his digestion system was in track, which all medical professionals should do. It's not optional. Two days later we returned because his system was backed up. Not only was his room dirty but the nurses and doctors treated him badly. He was in so much pain you could hear it throughout the entire ER. I felt disgusted with them.

Would not recommend using virtual visit. I used virtual visit and was charged the $49 fee, which was fine except that I never received my prescription and when I called back, the new provider would not re-send my prescription. I emailed the manager of virtual visit with no response. Save your money. Use other means for healthcare.

Wow I experienced a horrifying experience watching what your security guards do to clients that were being not threatening. I wouldn't bring any one of my dying family members here, Or healthy. Find a new head of security. Train your staff after reading reviews on this place, I'm shocked and surprised your doors are still opened.

Last night I received excellent care in the Emergency department. I felt horrible when I got there and it was extremely busy so there would be a wait but.... I started receiving care the moment I walked in as I sat in the waiting area to see the doctor my vitals were taken twice. I had blood work done an iv port placed, xrays and CT scan before I went into the back. In short I was being taken care of from the moment I walked in the door. I found it to be more comfortable having the ability walk around, use the rest room be with my family all while having the tests. The nurses and doctor were so nice and caring. I feel so much better today, thank you to all the staff I couldn t have been treated better. Hard working staff each and everyone.

This hospital is incredible (5 star!) but this post is about parking garage C (visitor parking Blythe deck) on Blythe Blvd next to Levine Children's Hospital. I've been coming to this hospital for 3 months and for 2 of those months I have dealt with their parking garage every single day at least twice a day. While I'm coming out of the garage at about 12:30pm I notice that there are a ton of parking spaces. I will see at least 30 or more on my way out. I will see that the attendant will have the parking full sign out and be waving parents away. I have seen this time and time again and parents are forced to go to another busier garage that is further from where they need to be and forced to navigate through a busy and confusing hospital to get to their loved ones. It will take on average an additional 20-30 minutes to park. Today I told the parking attendant that were were plenty of spaces and he agreed that there were a lot of open spaces. I then said to him that there are parents that are trying to see their children and he should let people in. He then told me to "mind my business" and proceeded to yell at me. I then drove away and filed a formal complaint. My other complaint is that he is not there when people do need assistance. A woman was having difficulty getting the ticket out of the machine and the attendant was no where around, I had to get out of my car and assist her. Another time the divider had malfunctioned and no one could get in and he, again, was not at his post. He finally walked over and fixed it after people were already turning around. This is ridiculous and this man does NOT deserve to work there. The last thing a parent should be worried about is trying to find parking when they're trying to get to their sick child. This is unacceptable.

Patient care has gone downhill significantly since I've last been here. I came here for help, not to sit here and be ignored for hours. Will not be coming back here in the future.

7 hours for the doctor only to ask me, "what's wrong"

I had a procedure done here in February, and all in all it was a good experience. From the time of check in to the time I was brought back to the OR everything transitioned smoothly for the most part. There were a few bumps along the way but nothing major. The nurse that took me back didn t have such a great attitude at the beginning. That changed once I got an attitude back with her. The biggest issue I had was the fact one of the nurses (Nanette F.) who came in to place my IV completely ignored me the first two times I requested her not to place an IV in my hand. I had to ask her a third time with the anesthesiologist in the room to not place it there before she would listen. This is one of my biggest pet peeves as a nurse myself, is not listening to your patients. Other than that, the experience was great, multiple people came in from the anesthesiologist, OR RN, CRNA, and the surgeon to double and triple check information for accuracy. The anesthesiologist and CRNA had great bedside manner, they eased any nerves I or my husband may have had just by their demeanor. The recovery nurse was great from what I could remember, she made sure I was comfortable and checked on me frequently.

The nurses of 4B are amazing and have made this difficult battle a lot easier because of their kindness and genuine concern for my husband's well-being.

Great place and had a great experience with Danielle in the medical records department, she was friendly and very helpful.

Overall the employees here are really on point. It is obvious this hospital system as a whole cares about having good reviews and always coming out on top. Much appreciated. I had the best and top of the line experience, bar none. They have great management, stellar customer service skills, and great bedside manners.

Best care I could have asked for for my family. EVERYONE was so nice. Doctors and nurses were amazing, attentive, and caring. Even environmental services staff were amazing and friendly. Seriously great staff. Clean and modern rooms. Great food options for family.

I've never broken a bone before and I broke my femur in 2 places. I got to the emergency room at 1000am and was discharged at around 700pm the next day. From the er staff, my doctors, the physical therapist, all the nurses Everyone was kind and helpful. While I never want to have an injury like this again, I'd have no problem being taken to cms main.

EXCELLENT care from ALL staff for my grandmother (there for 5 days for back surgery)! They also took GREAT care of my family while we were there with her! Will DEFINITELY recommend & will DEFINITELY return in the future if need be!!

The Liver Team at CMC Main saved my husband's life. He was transferred there from Caromont/Gaston Memorial with less than a week left. They started him on dialysis to save his kidneys until he could get a liver transplant. His doctors and nurses were all top notch and we could not have asked for better care! We will never be able to thank them enough!!!

I would not recommend CMC Dentistry Clinic in the Annex Bldg, 2nd floor Charlotte. Never going back. They don't care about their patients. I had a appointment today and a lady name Dr. Barnes was my dentist. She treated me like trash. My care was not her main focus. It's like i was talking to the wall. She didn't listen to nothing i was telling her. I told her i was in so much pain. She saw my face and gums swollen from the infection. My gums were bleeding and tender. Dr. Barnes extracted my tooth with all going on with my gums and tooth. She didn't make sure i was numb so felt everything. Then she struggled to remove the tooth. I feel like she was experimenting in my mouth. (I was her dummy)Worse experience ever. They sent me home feeling worse without instructions or pain medication. I felt like jumping out the car when i was driving down the highway. My wife called the Dental Clinic for help with my pain. She couldn't believe Dr. Barnes pulled my tooth while my gums was infected and swollen. They told my wife i need to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I've been taking that for two weeks and it's not working for the pain I'm feeling right now. Do yourself a favor pay a little extra money and find a dentist that care for all their patients with better services. It's almost like (you get what you pay for).

Nurses are awesome! A special thank you to Linda and the lactation consultant, Sandra, they are very kind and professionals. But unfortunately, during my labor, doctor's attention was inopportune and unrespectful. There were many practicioners in the room during the last stage of my labor, laughing and behaving disrespectfully. It was very uncomfortable.

Terrible experience! I was told the cost of a service would be around $500 after insurance paid and such. So I paid $200 and thought I would pay the rest $300 when I got the bill. First, the total for me ended up being $1,300 rather than $500 (160% more). And they said the $200 I paid was applied to another service date, which actually was a mistake because I did not have another service. Anyway, make sure you check your balances and bills before paying. Last, I am still in shock that 1) an ultrasound would cost $2,300 of hospital and $300 of professional charge, and 2) the uncertainty that I always experience before getting any service; will it be $200, $500, $2,000, $10,000?

Very great experience. I am horribly afraid of needles and had to have two nurses and my bf to get the iv in. They were very kind and patient with me. I believe they were Nanett and Alison. They took their time with me and got me calmed down so they could get me into surgery. I don't remember much besides feeling grumpy when a doctor didn't wave back to me as they were wheelimg me into the OR. It wasn't my doctor and I was pretty out of it so who knows if I even lifeted my hand. Pretty soon I was asleep and then waking up in recovery. Very sweet lady there too and I was taken care of and sent home.
I went in at 11am and left at around 8pm. I had a severely deviated septum and so the surgery took a while. Great people, great environment

Neurosurgical ICU was exemplary. The Emergency Dept check in was uncompassionate, rude, sarcastic, and completely not helpful. Very disappointed I wasn't treated with respect and compassion considering the circumstances.

came in end up having to stay for a few days Nurse Maureen was horrible bed side Manor was garbage very attitudinal with a nasty disposition.

I currently have a family here 9th tower recovering. We are very upset and frustrated. The CNA there are mean. One time we walked in and our patient was in tears because the CNA or nurse refused to put his food tray closer to him so he could feed his self. He can't not walk! 2nd time we received a call from them telling us the CNA/Nurse was not aware he had wear belt and that they were sorry for dropping him! And talking to them at the desk Oh My! Very rude! 3rd thing my husband and I were asking them for information at the desk and we heard patient's ring there bell and the Male nurse first rolled his eyes and huffed before he answered it! The nurse answers the phone with same rudeness. UNBELIEVABLE! But before he was in ICU and their service was beyond great. They were very nice and caring!

Terrible hospital. Was supposed to be induced at 530. Made my pregnant wife and 3 others sit in a closet sized room with no information for over 3 hours in uncomfortable chairs and ignored everyone and never even came to let us know what was going on. Your better off having your baby at home than here or on the side of the road. These people could care less about your well being

Don't go to the emergency room AND DON'T HAVE INSURANCE YOU'LL BE THERE till the next day it's not a good place to go if you're not dieing I'm here right now and it's over five people in here that's been sitting over seven hours with IVs in there arm man I can't believe what I'm seeing channel 9 needs to stop by it'll be a good story...no body wealthy will be caught seen here

Brought my pregnant GF in to the ER for nausea and were checked in at 8:15pm. Shouldn't have been a huge deal, but we have been here for going on 8 hours now. They have no respect for time management at all. I've been waiting over an hour at this point for discharge papers. I feel trapped! Please help!!

3:32am nurse just came in and said that the discharge papers were printed....

To summarize, they know their stuff, but you might die of old age before you get seen or go home if its not life threatening.

Wonderful caring staff. Everyone from the doctors to the sanitation workers make an effort to be friendly, even during these challenging times. Excellent level of care provided.

Saturday 10/25/2015, went to ER for urinary issue, fast and professional first contact, in exam room was seen by nurse Natasha, then ER Doctor Beherent(not sure spelling) but both were outstanding, nurse put me at complete ease, Dr. diagnosed, explained in great and succinct detail of my situation, the treatment, all in a language I could understand, in a very calming demeanor, great obvious knowledge of the situation and in a very professional manner. I left with still some issues to be addressed but mentally calm and comfortable with was left to be done with my follow up Dr., Kudos to the ER staff at Main

Was at Levine children s hospital since birth and it was the greatest place ever , I am a sickle cell patient and am now 18 so I have to come here , this is the worst experience I ve ever had at a hospital , I m going on hour 4 and still haven t been seen, I m literally typing this in pain. Then they ve moved me to basically 3 different waiting rooms making me think I m about to be treated. Levine children s will see patients in less than 10 minutes I m on the verge of walking out in the middle of my pain crisis

I had the worst security director when I worked there,he didn't know what he was doing and weren't trained right either.he was there for the money and bullying. Not law enforcement.

Provided excellent care during our stay at children's hospital made sure not only my newborn was took care of but met all my expectations during our stay

CMC is a great organization system wide but their main campus in Charlotte is not recommended. The staff seem over worked and lack bedside manner. They really have lost 5heir way somewhere in regards to patient care. I was hospitalized here for a month in 2017 and transferred to their hospital in Lincolnton to convelesce the remaining 3 months and their location in Lincolnton is superb.

I was an incoming cardiac patient. From steelcreek to pineville the staff was excellent. I will always hold steelcreek atrium as the best. Steve

My wife had to be induced in this hospital and the 1st nurse she had was okay. Everything was okay till this short stumpy nurse started getting rude. As this is my first child I had a lot of questions and every one I had was met with snide or short or rude replys. This is the FIRST AND LAST child I ever have brought here. I would rather have a Indian Witch Doctor deliver my child than these quacks.

I had 8 surgeries and 22 hospitalizations here, and the staff and Drs were phenomenal. They listened to me and took great care of me. Praise God!

With 101.6, terrible symptoms, my kidney transplant doctors told me to check in to the er here, yesterday. The er was functional, the people did their jobs. Not so when I was admitted overnight in the observation unit. I slept in a bathroom. For real. The commode pulls out from under a cabinet. Transport took an hour to get me after scan. Called nurses station twice for a blanket, never came. Asked nurse for water, oops. Musta slipped her mind. An hour and a half late with my morning transplant meds, oops. I think uncaring starts at the top and this place needs a wake up. I will never go back there.

We are currently in the ER- we have been here over 8 hours- my daughter who has cerebral palsy choked and aspirated diagnosed with pneumonia- they recommended staying for observation but could not provide us with a bed

I am currently sitting in triage after arriving at the Emergency Room... I have been here for 6 hours waiting for medical attention for my father and it appears that it may be several more hours before he is taken to a room and examined by a nurse. To be seen by a doctor may take 8 hours or more.

Avoid if it all possible to visit this emergency room.

This nurse in micu is the rudest person to b in that unit shannon should not be in that unit

I wouldn't even give this place a star but it's the only way to say what I think Dr. Gordan was willing to let me die... He kicked me out still sick and I ended up in our small town hospital that he always said was the problem no they saved my life... I have a feeding tube and more surgeries.. can you say malpractice?? Oh yeah the whole gastro dept... It's funny here they won't send you to CMC main bc they don't like the fact of the way they are so going to the best MUSC if you want to die stay there of you want to live get away

Got here at 11pm still waiting and its 2am. Super slow and staff saying I wont be out till 5am. The staff is nice very respectful but the wait is horrible very horrible. It makes no sense people have to wait this long for a doctor

If u r in hurry by any chance then forget ,
2 -3 hours in waiting room is the standard waiting .....

I was a patient there after I was hit by a car on June 11th 2016. I broke bones had fractures bones and bleeding on the brain also a large wound. The surgeon team there with the help of God saved my life. I had the best nurses and greatest team always caring. Even though yo even the cafeteria make sure I always got what I wanted. I will say I was a bit picky with the food so I definitely recommend this hospital to anyone who is in need of surgery or in an emergency they will take great care of you I stay there till the middle of July. I know there was not a better place that I could have been.
