Thos place only gets 4 stars because they have Endeavour. The people that work here are rude and clearly not excited about their lives. (Unless they're in the Endeavour exhibit.) Go see the space shuttle and maybe an IMAX if you're into that and skip the rest unless you're with kids. It really is geared towards the under 10 crowd.

Best place to bring your kids to and help them get interested in science! They will see the space shuttle Endeavor and all its parts. Outside is a beautiful rose garden. The best and the cheapest way to go there is to take the Expo Line train to USC/Expo station. You can also walk from the Expo/Vermont station.

Amazing place for a Los Angeles adventure!

Amazing place for a Los Angeles adventure!
Easily took the Metro expo line from 7th st. Metro Center and got off right between USC and the rose garden/science center.
I came here on a friday around 11:30 AM and stayed for around 2-3 hours for the whole museum.
BEWARE on weekdays because the science center is full of school kids on field trips! It makes a fun trip when the center is busy but most of the hands on activities are used by the kids :)

Ever since the space shuttle Endeavor flew over the NASA facility I work at on it's way to California I wanted to see this shuttle up close. On a recent trip to Pasadena I got my chance. Before I got to see the star of the show I really enjoyed the exhibits they set up to educate visitors about the shuttle and the space program. It was fun to touch shuttle tires, see the excess property paperwork photo they had in the exhibit that formally transferred ownership of the shuttle to the California Science Center, the space potty, galley, Rocketdyne operations center mockup and astronaut memorabilia were all very interesting as well. After a video that showed the shuttle and external fuel tank traveling through the streets of LA to the California Science Center I headed downstairs to see the star of the show. In it's own separate building outside sits the Endeavor. It was wonderful to get to see this up close. It also felt a little sad, seeing a piece of space history now being a museum exhibit. It was fun to walk around the orbiter. It doesn't really seem that big, and the astronaut living quarters up from all things considered is pretty small. The exhibit signs were good to read, they definitely helped you better understand what you were seeing. They had two folks by the shuttle to answer questions and they had actual heat shield tiles that you could hold. I never realized how light those tiles were, I felt like I was holding styrofoam. The two dollar price was well worth it. I walked quickly through the rest of the Science Center. Lots of school groups and kids. The Museum definitely seems geared to children. I'd recommend a visit for families or space geeks like me :)

This place along with the museums next to it are amazing! Not to mention free to the public so take advantage! These are amazing structures and the science center was packed with great things to look at such as the spave shuttle Endeavor and parts from it. A little aquarium bunch of exhibits with eco enviroments and a lot fun little things that the kids can try anf play with. I truly truly recommend it.

A free museum that teaches children the wonders of science!
The idea is wonderful!
The space shuttle Endeavor, A-12 B that knocks out Mach 3.3 (Warthlessly in the parking lot), F-18 and other fighters and Apollo spaceships are just overwhelmed by the actual exhibits of human history heritage.
It is fun no matter how many times you go! !

Great museum! Alone for the space shuttle shown here, do not miss it! But also a lot of interesting things, especially for families with children. Right next door: the old olympic stadium of 1932 and 1984.

This museum/science center is not that big, and located near the LA Memorial Coliseum. The most exciting item on display here is the Endeavour Space Shuttle. It is a dream come true for me to finally see the space shuttle in person. The other displays are also quite nice, but not nearly that special as the space shuttle. They have a good museum store as well.

An absolute must in Los Angeles. Great exhibition with the possibility to see a space shuttle. The facility is very large and offers numerous exhibits, some of which can be tried out in the form of experiments.

It has a lot of kid friendly activities and hands-on. There are family rooms/kid zones in all corners that you can have the kids play as if they are in school, touching every toy, props, books. I highly recommend this place if you have children. It's also free.

Great Place !

Great Place !
We had an extra day in LA and wanted to do something different than just another day at the parks. We got a recommendation to visit here and it was absolutely great. The Endeavor is probably the crown jewel and was amazing to see in person. Entry is free to the center and there are a lot of exhibits. I think a reservation time is $3 for the Endeavor but it is included if you see an IMAX film and we wanted to see the Apollo 11 film anyway. In any event, very short money for a well worth it trip. We paid $18 in total for the 2 of us. We also made a donation. Also, there are people all around the Endeavor and I wish I remembered his name, but the gentleman we spoke to had worked on the Endeavor and had an amazing background including engineering, airplane engines and other stories, including boating and the NFL. We learned more from him in 20 minutes about the shuttle than we ever had - and we've been to NASA! He was great. Search him out! Follow this with a trip to the Griffith Observatory for a full space day!
