Loved our visit. Plenty of measures put in place for Covid , plenty of hand gel everywhere. Lovely friendly staff , only downside was there was no chocolate pumpkins left! Kids didn't have any trouble finding an alternative though :)

We went with our 2 year old and 10 months old. The 2 year old understandably did not like the introduction to Cadbury and the chocolate story but loved the chocolate making, indoor and outdoor games. We sadly had to give the ride a miss because of 40 minutes que time. The best of the lot was the 4D movie. My 2 year old was absolutely mesmerized. We were afraid he might have a melt down in the theater as he wanted to play in the outdoor play area. Once the movie started he sad absolutely still and watched the movie with open mouth. We thought he was scared and tried to hold his hands- wrong again. He loved it so much, i don't think he blinked!! Would definitely recommend but for children a little older.
Great for kids, can spend there most of the day with the extra weekend programs(Magic show). Food isn't great, may be better off taking your own with you.
Good place to know the history of Cadbury chocolate, a tad expensive and we were Un-Lucky as the production line was not functioning to view the live production on machine. The tour explains how the chocolate originated and it's long and sweet journey through these more than 100 years of existence and dominance.
Crowded and tacky. Would have been better to stay at home and watch YouTube videos on how chocolate is made while eating dairy milk. Oh, and cadbury's seem to think that their Chirk plant is in England. .. it's in Wales! !
Must visit place with kids. Kids would really love the entertainment. Cadburys history and the building of Bournville is an inspiration to this generation
It wasn't. Most of the production lines were shut, so there wasn't that part of the factory to see. The story of where chocolate came from was told in the first 5 - 10 minutes but then retold in several different ways throughout the 'guided tour'. They had an area where they demonstrated making chocolates with liquid chocolate the old fashioned way which was the trip highlight.
They liked to try to make more money from the paying customer by not ONE but TWO photo opportunities. The first was to stand in front of a green screen with some computer generated scene. The other was on the Cadabra ride (a ride for very young kids!) that we had to queue for as you could not bypass it. We wasted 20 minutes of our time!
Won't be going back, it was disappointing and not worth anywhere near the money we paid. All over in less than 2 hours!
It would be a five star just the tour is to short 3 to four hours spent hear chocolate is so expensive but clean and tidy a good but short tour with 4d cinema ride through the factory all included in the price plus four chocolate bars
Visited many years ago and this has improved a lot since then. Currently no real opportunity to see machines in action but many other attractions. History of Cadbury, chocolate making, multimedia expetiences, shop, cafe and more.
Nothing like it was years ago, not much to see, although you were given a few free samples. Just designed to make you soend money. Foid was very limited at lunch time, and pricey.
Great place for the kids, some grown up stuff for the adults regards the history, if you are looking for bargains in the store, supermarkets can be cheaper
Went few times. Good place to spend some time. You get some chocolate when you arrive. Mostly i loved 4D cinema! Otherwise is more history tour. Nice and clean. Large car park. Can get very busy though. Lovely for children.
Very informative kids liked it. Interesting story on the foundations of cadbury and the bournville region. Cafe needs tweaking in the way its directed. Despite school holidays felt it needed a better system waited 20 min for simple snack some people 30 min.
Really glad I went for the experience, but it's not the kind of place I would make a return visit to......except the shop, which was really reasonably priced and not like the rip off ones you get at most places. It was a really good day out and the kids loved the tour, but I think we all agree as a family that the 4d cinema was the best part of the day.
Will easily keep little ones entertained for a couple of hours. Some stairs but lifts are available. Quite a bit of walking but lovely to see the old building. I went midweek in term time and it was not busy at all. Restaurant has some food items you do not expect to have chocolate in. Such as chocolate mash potato. Plenty of high chairs. Toilets spread around the tour. Some savings can be had in the shop, mainly in the bulk buy. All the staff that interacted with me were happy and outwardly positive. Cost is subjective. Grab a voucher if you can. I'm a tightwad, so it could always be cheaper :)
We come here often , today was a special treat for my granddaughters birthdays. We had a fabulous day. The girls were enthralled by all the activities they participated in . However , the part they most enjoyed and buzzed about afterwards was the character afternoon tea. Money well spent! They staff were amazing with the children . The food was plentiful and the drinks replenished swiftly. Highly recommend this sweet treat to young and old .
Great variety on what to do, see and of course taste. The whole family enjoyed the day and experience and the history of how it all started. Well worth the visit!
Fun day out! Was running late due to traffic & the lady I called to make sure we could still get in for our booking slot was best helpful & understand! Reasonably priced shop ,overall a great day!
Not bad for a couple of hours , only upside is the shop with great prices but a bit low on variety . Parking is provided busses as well . Wish they had more products.
Came over today for my eldest daughter's birthday she loved it brilliant day out 4D experience was brilliant well worth going on. The staff were very helpful and friendly. For me the history of cadbury's was very interesting. I think they bring back the original wrapping for the diary milk bar very fascinating.
I recently took my son who has got additional needs to Cadburys world. I cannot fault the staffs customer service. Several times throughout our day out he had several meltdowns, the staff were so understanding and accommodating due to my sons conditions. I will definitely be coming back for a return visit.
Good experience and the free chocolate is a nice touch. It s good that there bringing in new attractions but the lack of production factory is a shame!
Was...ok. we came 20 yrs ago with our kids now we went with our grandsons aged 5 and 3. It was sold out and quite a bit of queuing. apart from the 4D ride and car ride the children didn't understand it. The guy giving the talk at the beginning on the lane was too quiet and could not be heard over the kids. He spoke too quickly and told a story too complicated for toddlers. The same with the displays. Considering most had young children with them the kids didn't understand the terminology. Years ago you could taste more, like the taste of the original ingredients the cocoa and chillies smelt the beans and sample chocolate straight off the belt. You learnt nothing about the origins in the jungle. Displays are too quiet and too technical for kiddies to appreciate the history.
Cadbury's used to be a philanthropic employer that added huge value to the UK and it's workforce. Since the shareholders allowed it to be sold to Kraft, it has all gone downhill. Kraft promised no UK plants would be closed, but within weeks of Kraft taking over, they announced that their Bristol plant would be closing, with production moving to Poland. EU money was made available to the company to set up new manufacturing plants in eastern Europe. Basically, we in the UK, funded Kraft to shift production of the ex-British chocolate manufacturer from the UK to Poland. It is simply outrageous. Hundreds of UK jobs lost at their Bristol plant. The UK tax payer paying the EU to export our jobs to Poland. Do some research folks, it is simply outrageous. And stop buying Cadbury's products. The founders of Cadbury's would be spinning in their graves to see what has become of their once wonderfully benevolent and philanthropic British company has become. The Bristol plant was profitable, by the way, they just wanted to make a tiny bit more profit by shifting production to Poland. Kraft shafted the Bristol workforce. Shameful. And, yet, we just let it happen. What's wrong with this country where we just let our companies and jobs be exported to other countries.
We went during school holidays and the place was far too overcrowded, you get a decent amount of chocolate but the lines were far too long especially if you have children in line.
There was also a 4d experience but we didn t bother as it was over an hour wait.
3 stars because my 6 year old enjoyed it. Positives: Very clean. 4d cinema was the most enjoyable part but it only lasted about 3 minutes. Ride through the chocolate world was quite fun too, thoughtful and well-designed. Staff cheerful by More
The tour kicks off with some old static scenes and models before you sit through two films/multimedia presentations and are allowed to wander the corridors of the packing area. The history of Cadbury's (and chocolate in general) was interesting but there was very little in this section to entertain our 4-year old.
The best part of the visit was the 4D cinema which was great for our child but the hour-long queue to see it wasn't so great. The kids play area was fun though (so I'm told!) and there was a magic show and no shortage of food/drink vending.
Don't go with high expectations of seeing umpa loompas or anything of the production line in the factory (it's not a factory tour) and you'll find an hour or two of entertainment and sweet, sweet chocolate.
Ample coach parking, but... I bring in 40+ passengers spending their money here, and not so much as a cup of tea for the coach driver, nearest external eatery is quite a walk so you're trapped spending a lot of money on at best barely adequate meal. Not a place I would recommend just based on that attitude alone!
I love Cadbury chocolate, so it was a must to visit the Cadbury World. But unfortunately we went on a school holiday which we didn't know because we came from abroad. The exhibition was completely sold out and way too full! Many families and children and way too loud (of course hence the children being there). They should have reduced the visitor numbers by not selling so many online tickets! Anyway, the exhibition itself was in parts interesting by presenting basic facts about the process of making chocolate. But there was just not enough to see when it came to the actual chocolate fabrication and how they work with it. When walking through the factory one got free samples of chocolate which I liked, of course (who doesn't). Apart from that, everything else cost extra, like the photo they take of you. Long queuing times on the 2nd floor, the floor itself was not interesting for us at all because it was mostly fun stuff for the kids. We also went to the cafe but had to queue there, too. There was not enough staff for the amount of people, pricey food, and long waiting times. But the shop was actually nice. You can buy a lot of products cheeply and in bulk. Shop was well maintained and cashiers were super friendly. Would come back here just for the shop.
