Cadbury's used to be a philanthropic employer that added huge value to the UK and it's workforce. Since the shareholders allowed it to be sold to Kraft, it has all gone downhill. Kraft promised no UK plants would be closed, but within weeks of Kraft taking over, they announced that their Bristol plant would be closing, with production moving to Poland. EU money was made available to the company to set up new manufacturing plants in eastern Europe. Basically, we in the UK, funded Kraft to shift production of the ex-British chocolate manufacturer from the UK to Poland. It is simply outrageous. Hundreds of UK jobs lost at their Bristol plant. The UK tax payer paying the EU to export our jobs to Poland. Do some research folks, it is simply outrageous. And stop buying Cadbury's products. The founders of Cadbury's would be spinning in their graves to see what has become of their once wonderfully benevolent and philanthropic British company has become. The Bristol plant was profitable, by the way, they just wanted to make a tiny bit more profit by shifting production to Poland. Kraft shafted the Bristol workforce. Shameful. And, yet, we just let it happen. What's wrong with this country where we just let our companies and jobs be exported to other countries.
