Edwin in the service department is amazing. Even though I only come in for my oil change/ tire rotation, he remembers me. He goes above and beyond and really makes me glad I own a Mazda.
My husband has a Subaru, and while he loves his car, he has had countless issues with their service department.
So again, happy to be a Mazda owner, and happier to go to Brown s!

This review is for the service center provided by the Mazda service team. I came in for a simple oil change and VA inspection. Long story short, I was told the left license plate light was not working and they need to change out the tail light harness ($160). I thought it sounded fishy so I opted to decline and investigate. Later, I opened the backing to take a look at the light wiring. Well I'll be damned. THERE IS FRESHLY PLACED TAPE, as in IT WAS STILL STICKY, covering the left light wiring. That's ironic.. just so happens to be THE SAME LIGHT THAT WAS "BROKEN". Look if you're going to scheme me, at least try to cover your tracks. Also, the protective tubing was missing. Strike one.

I bought the car from this EXACT dealership in 2014. The lights have never been a problem so the tape was placed on June 13th. I was angry and knew something was up. I took the car to a nearby mechanic. We opened it together and he laughed and showed me where the wire was cut. It was a clean cut..RIGHT UNDERNEATH THE STICKY TAPE. Mazda wanted me to pay $160 for some quick soldering work. Strike two.

I come into the service center the next day on the 14th to voice my concerns. We spoke to Mr. Stofko whom I remember from the day before and his customer service skills were on point. I'm guessing we caught him off-guard this time. Throughout the conversation he seemed severely impatient, defensive and continued to undermine my concerns. Those who are defensive are typically the ones with the hand in the pot. Otherwise, if there was nothing wrong, I would have received the standard "apologies, we will take a look into the problem, thanks for being a loyal customer etc".

That's strike three.

All I can say that it was a pleasure dealing with Brown's Fairfax Mazda.

After requesting a quote for a 2014 Mazda 3 GT "Buy Happy", Ritchie reached out to me through e-mail and asked me few questions about color preferences and options. Then he sent me his quote with all the available incentives and possible rebates. The General manager Jay had to take over because Ritchie was off for the day. I was pleasantly surprised with the level of professionalism and the way they treat their "potential" customers. They didn't leave me hanging and waiting for them to reply. It took me few e-mails to reach to an agreement. They didn't even have to call me and try to feed some BS like most of them do.
Rafel from the finance department was also very helpful walking me through the different financing options, rates and extended warranty.

I definitely recommend Brown's Fairfax Mazda to anyone who is looking for a smooth and as they are promoting a "Buy Happy" experience.

Bought my first car here at Brown s Fairfax Mazda! I checked in advance to see if the car I liked was available and they had the keys ready by the time I got there. Nenad helped me out that day and it was an overall personable and swift experience. All forms were filled in a timely fashion, the test drive was smooth, and Nenad even offered to fix small scratches that were present on the vehicle upon purchase. Happy to have my new Mazda!

When I went back a week later to get my car detailed, the staff was quick and friendly. When they are short staffed on certain days, service may feel slow. However, they make up for it with kind employees and great car servicing!

Brown's Fairfax Mazda Dealership was very accommodating and the employees were beyond friendly. I had a last minute appointment scheduled and I was able to be seen on a Saturday to have my vehicle serviced as I was in the area (I live in Baltimore). I was given a quote and an estimated time that it would take for my vehicle to be completed in. Not only was my vehicle done in less than 2 hours, there were snacks and beverages available, along with music to keep me occupied. Customer Service is 100%. I definitely would recommend this dealership. Thank you!

We went to three dealerships before settling on Brown's Fairfax Mazda. Unlike the first place we visited they listened to what we wanted in a car. Unlike the second place that we visited they listened to what we wanted in financing. Within a relatively short period of time, we had the car that we wanted, financed at a good rate by a helpful salesperson and an understanding finance person. I highly recommend them.

I had an amazing experience with this dealer! Rickey aka the Jeep speacalist helped me get into my first Wrangler. I drive down from Pennsylvainia ( a 3 hour ride) He was more than helpful prior to my visit with any of my questions or concerns. They even got me

Brown's Fairfax Mazda clearly places a premium on customer service. Rick, the sales rep I worked with, didn't hassle me trying to upsell I had already decided what I wanted to buy and was just waiting for the right CPO to show up. He was blessedly quiet during the test drive, but able to answer what questions I had.

There were a few issues, but they were adequately resolved. In the end, I payed a little more than I had wanted to, but ain't that always the way?

Pro tip: Don't buy the navigation from Mazda. It's just an SD card with maps that you plug in buy it on Amazon for $80 and save $320.

I bought my beloved 16 Miata here and have been coming to them for checkups/services over the last 2 years. Richard Faatz and his servicing team are great to work with - mainly because they treat my car as if it s their own Miata. One time, they called me to make sure it was okay for them to hand wash my car (because they know a lot of Miata owners are picky when it comes to others touching the car). Who does that?!

Furthermore, the visits are generally pleasing - they geek out with me about parts and upgrades for the Miata and they make a time consuming event feel not-so time consuming.

I selected this dealership because of its great reviews across multiple sites. I had such horrible experiences buying cars and getting them serviced at the dealership in the past that for me this was extremely important. In fact, a recent negative experience with the service department of my previous cars dealership was about 40% of my motivation to get a new car even though my previous car was only 3 years old. That is saying a lot because I typically keep cars for 10 years or more. After researching the CX-5 and seeing that it was a safe, reliable car I finally decided to go in with my fingers crossed hoping that the dealerships reviews were legitamit and not written by friends and family members of the staff because I didn t think it was possible for a car dealership to get such good reviews. I have to say that now, I am a believer! Everyone was friendly, genuine, and upfront. They were expecting me so I got a warm and enthusiastic greeting. I brought a friend with me for support and once she discovered their cappuccino machine she was hooked on the place herself! Rus honored the price he quoted AND gave me a fair price for my trade in. I came in with all kinds of contingency plans because I was not expecting that at all! Larry was amazing and was more like a professor/mentor than a salesperson. He took us for a test drive and taught me about every feature on the car. I didn t feel rushed or pressured at all. I felt like I was being educated rather than sold to. I did feel a little pressure from Sarah in financing but she was still polite and professional when I declined her most aggressive pitch. That was nice too because I have had experiences in the past where there was an abrupt change in attitude when the person realizes they are not going to make the sale they want. I came in preapproved for an auto loan by my bank and I was hoping Mazda would be able to beat or at least match their rate but that wasn t possible so now I have one extra step in the process. Even with that, it was still the best car buying experience I ve ever had. They have set a high bar and I am hoping they will continue to have success and other dealerships will realize that it is not necessary to use nefarious sales strategies to sell cars. I've been a Browns Mazda (Fairfax) customer for over five years and have always received outstanding service. I've not purchased a vehicle from them but have used their service department extensively. They have kept our Mazda vehicles in top notch running order. I am very pleased with the quality of their maintenance technicians. We never have any problems with our vehicles as they always catch problems before they get to be big problems. Greg Harmon is our service technician and he is the best we've ever had. He is honest, thorough, and great to work with. He gives us the straight information and is so flexible with appointments. He will do what ever it takes to keep our vehicles in top running condition, and yet he fully understands th impact of expense of maintaining a vehicle in todays environment. We moved to another area in N VA, yet we have kept Greg and Brown's Mazda as our vehicle care center because of the great service they provide. I'm confident when we do go car shopping we will stick with Mazda and Brown's Mazda of Faifax because they have taken such good care of us.

Bobby was especially helpful finding all the cars I wanted to see, and not making me feel rushed as I test drove and inspected all of them. I visited Brown's Mazda in Fairfax and recently purchased a 2012 Ford Focus. The entire experience had been a pleasure and quite easy. The staff was polite, respectful, and knowledgeable regarding their vehicles. Rick provided excellent customer service and insight regarding the vehicle (being that he received the trade in from the previous owner). Rick called and texted to provide information regarding the vehicle, while also not imploring high pressure tactics to sell the vehicle. So I returned to the dealership on 7/4 with the intention on negotiating a reasonable price for the vehicle (after doing research and viewing other vehicles area). Rick and Richtie were able to make a reasonable offer that I could not refuse. I agree to the purchase after doing so, I was informed there was only one key to the vehicle. This did not stop their staff from offering me assistance acquiring an additional key offering me options to obtain an additional key. I truly feel positive about this purchase. Sold a certified pre-owned (CPO) 2012 Mazda3 with ~42,000 miles, manual transmission that apparently had a bum clutch. 66k miles in and it completely burned out.

This is my second manual car, on top of having a motorcycle. No learning done on the car, no racing. It was a bum clutch that went out probably at least 40,000 miles too early, or only lasted 50-60% of its intended lifetime. I can't for the life of me explain how I could've done that damage. You have to understand, I've run out of fingers on my hands the number of times I've been honked at in rush hour traffic for coasting/flowing rather than the stop/go, stop/go madness.

Buying the car, of course it looked great. The paint was real nice, the seats were good, no issues on the test drive. Maybe I should've reflected a bit more on the hole worn through both the drivers carpet mat & the floor of the car, at the time I shrugged it off as something easily fixed with rubber mats. It could only be aesthetic, right? Surely there aren't mechanical issues in their pre-owned car?

I guess I'm just not cut out for car buying. Bought it at their price, "no-haggle/set by corporate"/CPO/everything is great about this car. Of course, no mention about the cost that would be incurred by having to replace a clutch in 20,000 miles.

Now, I'm kind of pissed. Originally would have given them two stars because I really expect this behavior from car salesmen. But, the $1065 repair job suddenly turned into $1600 because the independent repair shop can t replace this with an off-brand part. This clutch is special and needs a genuine Mazda part replacement. They had to order it from a dealership. For $800. That is absolutely absurd. Google "clutch part kit replacement cost" and click the first link. It speaks for itself.

All of that is on top of the other bad experience I had with them, getting them to provide a 2nd set of keys for the car. When originally purchased they stated they had a good relationship with the previous owner (haha), and that they should be able to get a 2nd set of keys from him, or they'll have it made. Of course, a couple weeks later and it turns out there's no 2nd set of keys. Complete hassle to get the keys made. When I arrive, they want to have a "regular" key made without the electric FOB, and after complaining to a manager about the ordeal (and turning down a free tank of gas), they agree to include the FOB.

Now, the thing that grinds my gears (aside from a burned out clutch), is that while talking with the manager about the keys, I hear "Well, you know, used cars usually only come with what we get..." implying they don't give second keys. Despite the fact that I was personally assured a second set (making the previous statement irrelevant), and the basic fact you should always have a spare set of keys for your car. Seriously Mazda, you're selling a Mazda at your Mazda dealership with one set of keys? Thank you Brown's Fairfax Mazda, for being the sleazy dealership everybody expects you to be.

I had a wonderful experience with Fairfax Mazda. Oday Alazzawi was fantastic in helping me select the right vehicle for me. I appreciated the "no pressure" environment and did not feel like I was getting "tricked" at any point, which I have felt at past dealers. Oday and the management team even helped me with an issue with my new vehicle after I left the lot, which I feared would be unable to be resolved. They helped resolve the issue immediately and with ease. I am extremely pleased with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone searching for a Mazda in the Northern Virginia area.

Great customer service from David Chung. Found a Certified Pre-Owned model on TrueCar, which led to Brown's and David. David and the whole staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, and the process of purchasing was smooth and swift. When the vehicle was missing one feature as advertised, David quickly responded and fulfilled my request. I was also able to leave my Enterprise rental car at the dealership, log it in with them, and let Enterprise know to collect the car there. This was a particularly convenient service.

Mat Moore was my sales contact and had done a great job in getting me through this deal from the initial test drive till handing over the car. He was frank and factual and was an ideal sales rep for me. Donald Tim did an exceptional job in getting things done quickly and in a smooth manner. I greatly appreciate his outreach and he went out of his way to ensure I leave the showroom with the car and a smile.

I wanted to highlight the above and beyond service I got from Janette and Richard from the Service Department, as well as the parts department and all the supporting employees.

I'm doing my best to keep my 2004 Mazda 3-5 Door running while I await an announcement for a new Mazdaspeed 3 (hint hint) and found that I recently lost the ability to control my HVAC fan blower. After spending hours taking apart my dash, we discovered that a wiring harness had a fried connector and would be over $2k to replace as the entire harness was one piece.

Janette and the parts team went out of their way to find an alternative and came up with a creative strategy of salvaging the connector from another harness and the service team was then able to splice it into place which will go along way toward keeping my car on the road. While not costing me a fortune.

My wife and I stopped in to look at a Mazda 6. After a couple days worth of car shopping, I was already tired of looking at cars. Gino and Jack were there to take care of our needs and to put my mind at ease. Even though we were not able to walk away with a deal, they did everything in their power to get the vehicle to fit our budget. For any Bruno Mars fans, Gino sounds just like him. Think of that as an added bonus if you go car shopping here. Both were very friendly and plan on going back for our next lease when we move up to an SUV.

Had a fantastic experience purchasing a new Mazda3! I was originally looking to purchase a used car, but Jennifer and Gino were able to help me get an amazing price on a newer model that was still within my budget. They made car-buying easy and enjoyable. Fairfax Mazda has top-notch customer service, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

I've been shopping around for a Mazda CX-9 in the DC Metro area for approximately 6 months. I was finally ready to pull the trigger when I spoke with Matt and his staff Gino, and Russ. They were professional and treated me very well. Chanda worked with me and had all the financial paperwork prepared ahead of time. I also met Dennis the Service Manager and he treated me with kindness and truth when my 2018 CX-9 was being serviced for an ACP install. Once installed Richard showed me the configuration items for the ACP. So far I have received nothing but A-1 purchasing and service from Fairfax Mazda. Thank you Team for your time and efforts. I don t buy new cars that often, maybe in the 8 years since my last purchase things have changed and all dealers are like this now. Salesman was nice and helpful, but, BEWARE of the finance guy. He tried to tell me that I only qualified for a high rate of financing, BUT, if I bought his extended warranty he could buy down my rate (like it s a mortgage or something, WHICH IT S NOT) and get me a lower rate. This is a scam! Google it, apparently it s a common one. It s not technically illegal, but it s definitely extremely sleazy and dishonest. HAVE A LOAN QUOTE FROM A BANK OR CREDIT UNION BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT USING THERE FINANCING. When I took position of the car a small item was broke, I called the dealership and am basically getting the run around about having it fixed. They very begrudgingly agreed to take care of it, but I guess it s my fault for thinking a new car should be sold with everything in working order. In short, you can look there, the sales staff is helpful, BUT DO NOT BUY THERE!!! There are way too many Mazda dealers around to give these guys the business.

My son and I were looking for a new car at the same time. My son went through Navy Federal Credit Union s buying program, and was contacted by Sarah Arnold. After a few email exchanges, we drove to Brown's Fairfax Mazda on Saturday afternoon.
Sarah was with customers and we were introduced to Floyd Margallo, who was a member of her team. After a test drive and our many questions answered, we each purchased a new Mazda 3. We were very pleased with the level of professionalism and the way Sarah Arnold and Floyd Margallo treated us as "potential" and purchasing customers. Sarah even went to the Chantilly location and brought back the car my son wanted. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional and thorough! Even thought we changed cars from what was originally offered by email, they honored the discounts they originally offered. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a Mazda! Little did I know that the staff here is trained in customer service 1ST and formost. With a complementary wash you can t go wrong at this dealership if your drive Mazda, their is no need for private mechanics you would be doing yourself a disservice.
