I selected this dealership because of its great reviews across multiple sites. I had such horrible experiences buying cars and getting them serviced at the dealership in the past that for me this was extremely important. In fact, a recent negative experience with the service department of my previous cars dealership was about 40% of my motivation to get a new car even though my previous car was only 3 years old. That is saying a lot because I typically keep cars for 10 years or more. After researching the CX-5 and seeing that it was a safe, reliable car I finally decided to go in with my fingers crossed hoping that the dealerships reviews were legitamit and not written by friends and family members of the staff because I didn t think it was possible for a car dealership to get such good reviews. I have to say that now, I am a believer! Everyone was friendly, genuine, and upfront. They were expecting me so I got a warm and enthusiastic greeting. I brought a friend with me for support and once she discovered their cappuccino machine she was hooked on the place herself! Rus honored the price he quoted AND gave me a fair price for my trade in. I came in with all kinds of contingency plans because I was not expecting that at all! Larry was amazing and was more like a professor/mentor than a salesperson. He took us for a test drive and taught me about every feature on the car. I didn t feel rushed or pressured at all. I felt like I was being educated rather than sold to. I did feel a little pressure from Sarah in financing but she was still polite and professional when I declined her most aggressive pitch. That was nice too because I have had experiences in the past where there was an abrupt change in attitude when the person realizes they are not going to make the sale they want. I came in preapproved for an auto loan by my bank and I was hoping Mazda would be able to beat or at least match their rate but that wasn t possible so now I have one extra step in the process. Even with that, it was still the best car buying experience I ve ever had. They have set a high bar and I am hoping they will continue to have success and other dealerships will realize that it is not necessary to use nefarious sales strategies to sell cars. Thank you Larry, Rus and everyone else I met at Browns Fairfax yesterday!
