Excellent customer service. This is my fourth Mazda, so i knew exactly what i wanted when i went in. I had an awful experience at Fredericksburg Mazda (where I live; refer to my review on that one...) and had gone down to Richmond Mazda approx. 2 weeks earlier where I had to walk out because the salesman was so slimy that it was insulting. But Fairfax was wonderful. I enjoyed talking with the salesman, the 'manager' as they say, and even the finance guy was a pleasure to chat with after the initial wheeling and dealing. They were up front and honest to any direct questions that I asked which is important to me; I understand that they are trying to make money but just be honest with me and I feel like they were. The only thing i will say is that they show you some numbers and then you sign a whole lot of papers BEFORE you see the finance side or what a potential payment will be. It can be intimidating to the average person, i think. But it did not stop me from calling the man into the finance office to revise some numbers and that's what I recommend to you. But even then, he was super willing to work w/ me. Overall, VERY satisfied. Even more so when considered relative to other local Mazdas.
Buying experience was good. The staff was helpful throughout the whole process. After purchasing the car I noticed starting issues and determined the battery was bad. I bought a replacement and contacted Brown's about it. I received and immediate response from the sales manager Derik and he issued a reimbursement for the defective battery right away. They also replaced a missing jack from my vehicle. It is nice to work with a dealer that cares about customer service. I would purchase another car from this dealer again in the future.
An excellent experience. We were looking for a first car for my son - Debbie Hefty who assisted us was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She took us step by step through everything that was needed and made it not just a pain-free but a pleasant engagement all round. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the dealership to anyone looking for both quality and value - and we'd certainly suggest that you ask for Debbie by name. And if you have half an hour to spare - grab lunch at the fantastic BBQ place next door while you wait.
I feel the people in the service department are honest and nice which is what keeps me coming back. I have free oil changes at another dealership but I choose to pay for the honesty and service at Browns Fairfax Mazda.
I've been buying cars for a lot of years and have never been as excited about a dealership as I am about Brown's Fairfax Mazda. I've bought new and used cars there and needless to say, do all of my maintenance there. David with the new cars, and Mike with the used cars are the best service people in the world. I will never consider buying or servicing anywhere else as long as I live within a couple of hundred miles of this place!

I purchased a 2014 Mazda Miata on 04/26/2014. The sales staff and management were very easy to work with and I felt they cared about my business. I would definitely recommend a Brown's Mazda of Fairfax. Great job guys.
I bought the pre owned vehicle Mazda CX-5 GT 2015 with 52000 Miles in $19700. After research I found that the car isn t GT. Sales people given bumper to bumper guarantee on the vehicle. But after two months I found battery and brakes problem. I called the Brown s people they denied the battery and brakes replacement said that it s not in guarantee and unable to replace the battery and I asked them about 29 points check they said that they did 108 points check that time every thing was good after that if something happened next day they aren t responsible for this. You found the people are more pushy and good while selling but more rigid after that and will not take any responsibility after selling.
Customer service provided by Yassine was superb. He answered all of my questions and ensured that I was thrilled with the car I would lease before I signed on the dotted line. So often, the differentiating variable among dealerships is the quality of customer service, and after visiting multiple dealerships and receiving several offers, Yassine's adept salesmanship and attention to customer service made the difference.
It was our first time buying a used car from a dealership so we were a little nervous but our salesman Nenad made the whole process simple and painless. He was very low key and not pushy at all, which we really appreciated. His manager Derik was also a pleasure to work with. Overall we left with a great car at a great price! Brown's has a super-clean, up-to-date facility and does a great job of servicing the car. I was very impressed by our intelligent, young service coordinator and the whole team. I bought my Mazda 5 there used as well, and appreciate the friendly and expert folks in the used car department.
We had a very positive experience recently at Brown's Fairfax Mazda (January 2020). Our salesperson was David Chung. He was very courteous and avoided high pressure tactics. When it came to negotiations, he was fair and straightforward. The used Honda which we eventually purchased had been recently inspected, and we asked about when the brakes had been replaced. The day we were looking for a car (Sunday), the repair shop was closed. David made sure to follow up and text us with the information we inquired about later in the week, for which I was grateful. I would certainly recommend.

My wife and I were in the market for a new Mazda. We already knew what Mazda we wanted minus color and maybe an option or two. Plus, we had a trade but already had a quote from Carmax we were happy with. In short, we just needed a good deal on a Mazda and we were ready to buy or "buy happy".
We were first met by Sales Rep Sharon when we walked into the dealership, she went to look for someone else to help us, not sure why because we ended up having to work with her. Sale Manager Doug talked to us while we waited, who appeared to have a friendly demeanor about him, or pulled it off nicely.
We went through the usual sales spiel with Sharon (this wasn't my first rodeo, or 7th). We went to sit down (the dreaded sales back and forth) after a test drive. We already did the work for them and really just needed them to give us the numbers we had lined up and the keys. We agreed on everything except the price of the Mazda. The part where the Sales Manager comes over and tries to sweeten the deal came (cue Sales Manager Doug). Surprisingly when I did my counter, Sales Manager Doug didn't seem to be phased nor very friendly. I was thrown off because this is usually when they want to really try to sell you the car, but Doug was happy to see us go.
Later, after a few emails and another visit, an agreement was still not made. I was finally able to get Sales Manager Doug to agree to a reasonable price. All that was left was for them to acknowledge the financing was completed, which Sharon said was completed and approved for the rate we wanted. Doug never acknowledged, nor responded after several attempts to confirm. Turns out later, after buying a car from another dealership, they explained things that Doug and Sharon failed to mention. Probably why Doug never responded, because he knew they had couldn't deliver on the price and financing. A shady technique to get you back into the dealership, and you find out the hard way at financing that you either get the financing you want or the price you want, not both. We've experienced it at other dealerships.
Needless to say, we didn't by a car from them, mainly because they don't appear to want to sell them. According to the reviews, management becomes rude when you finally agree or get close to a deal, we found out this was true. However, we have to thank Doug for his lack of response, saving us from buying a car from their dealership, and helping us avoid another bad car buying experience. For that, and them being somewhat friendly up until the final process, is why I give them two not one star.
Great service and David Chung is an excellent car purchase agent. He was not a salesman, but a person who understood the vehicle very well and was very respectful and open in his conversation on the vehicle.
Chris was a great financial agent and the entire experience was great and most of all we received a great car buying experience and a wonderful car at a tremendous price.
Open to negotiation even on a certified pre-own vehicle and just a great place to buy a new or certified pre-own vehicle. We love the CX-3 and what a great deal!!!
Very thorough professional dealership. Bought two Mazdas here and both the buying and servicing experience is superb. Pretty sure I had keys in hand within an hour or two each time, and the service department is thorough and communicative. Aside - Mazda itself has been making some impressive cars. I rode in a coworker's new Mercedes C-class and my Mazda 3 is truly just as nice (and half the price).
June 2017: Brought my 2013 Mazda 3 in for an oil change and a tire rotation. I was pleasantly surprised when the service technician offered a complimentary car wash- something not normally offered (in my past experience) for routine minor maintenance. The car wash on top of the expedient service made it a very positive experience for me.
I liked that Ron was a lifelong purchaser of Mazda vehicles which meant to me that Mazda vehicles are good cars. I've purchased 4 already so I was fully aware of Mazda's good and bad features but it was nice to see that Brown's Mazda had a salesman that felt the same. Ron was truthful when asked about the car's features and performance. Ron knew what he was talking about when I asked questions. I knew he was being truthful when I asked questions because again, I've had 4 Mazda vehicles - the one I bought is my 5th Mazda.
I was also impressed with the Finance Manager's performance (I think his name was Matt - he had his kid at work that day). I had wanted to purchase Zoom Zoom plates and a cargo net for the car. They had to be ordered but when I came back to get them installed, the Matt took care of the bill. All this made me realize that I made the right choice coming to Browns. I initially came to Browns with the intent of buying a car but when I got home, I called around and Prestige Mazda was offering free oil changes for life so I was going to go there instead but for some unknown reason, I came back to Mazda and am glad I did. Now the test is how well I'm treated when I come into Browns Mazda to get my car serviced. I hope the great service doesn't end after the car was sold.
Oh yeah, Ron also called backed a couple weeks after I got the car to see how things were going which was a nice gesture to show Browns does care about its purchasers.
Now, regarding the financing. I was quoted a high rate so I checked around on my own and found a lower rate. Once I told Brown's that, they immediately got me financing at a rate that was lower than I had found. It was nice being able to do all the financing paperwork at Brown's Mazda and not have to go back and forth between Browns and my bank.
I really appreciate the good and honest salesmanship Ron provided. I'm glad I was paired up with Ron. He gave great service!
We called in mid-Friday afternoon since the AAA service technician had told us we needed the battery replaced immediately. We had a running car that couldn't be stopped again so we just took off and drove from Manassas to Mazda in Fairfax hoping they could help us without an appointment. And they did. We were so thrilled. They had a replacement battery available even though our car is a 1994. The customer service representatives Jeannette and Mike were so helpful, friendly and able to calm us down - The technicians were so patient and knowledgeable and not at all making us feel that we were cutting things so close right before their weekend. WHAT AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!

If you want an experience that does not feel like you are being pressured or you are just another customer then you MUST go to Brown's Fairfax Mazda! From my initial inquiry until my purchase my salesman was excellent! In fact the entire dealership was polite and really seemed to be customer DRIVEN!! Which nowadays is always a plus and a reason I will refer my friends and family as well as buy from them again!!!
My husband and I test drove a Mazda here yesterday and were incredibly impressed by the steps they are taking to make you feel safe while buying a car during a pandemic. All staff were wearing masks properly, they wiped the car down before our drive, and met us outside for all of our interactions. We went to other dealers and did not feel as safe. This dealership is taking safety seriously.

I hadn't purchased a car in such a long time but the folks here made everything very easy and were so helpful. Nenad was great. I made an appointment to drive a few cars and when I arrived, he had the cars prepped and ready to go. I had a list of questions before, during, and after my visit. He answered everything very clearly and if he didn't know with 100% certainty, he responded to let me know he'd fine the answer for me (us car shoppers will ask some wacky questions). He even sent me a sweet shot of my car after the ceramic treatment to get me hyped! Ritchey was also a tremendous resource and when I took delivery of the car, he helped answer any last minute questions I had before driving off.
Lastly, although the car was a CPO, I took the car to my trusted car shop for an inspection to be safe. They gave the car a great review, so I would certainly trust Brown's Mazda again for a future vehicle.

This was one of the dealerships that I spoke to in my search for a 2016 Mazda3. Matt Wagner was my consultant during this process. I can definitely say that he was quick to respond to my questions and provided the most thorough and informative responses of all the dealerships I was in contact with at the time. It is very obvious that he and this dealership value customer service, and it's easy to see why he's been recognized as Sales Professional of the Month multiple times. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go through with a purchase at this location because of the distance from where I live (which is why I'm rating it a 4), but my experience with Brown's Fairfax was great, and I would definitely recommend them and Matt to any future car buyer.
I had a electrical problem with my car. They gave me a loaner car for a couple hours while they were working on it. And it ended up being a problem with a recall and didn t charge me for it

My wife and I initially came just to look and compare the cars with CarMax and some other places. We ended up buying from here on the same day. First, the customer service is EXCELLENT. We owe that entirely to Rickey. He is exceedingly personable and extremely knowledgeable about the cars on the lot. We told him right away we needed a certain model and it needed to be certified pre-owned, and he immediately pulled up all the options. Moreover, he never tried to upsell us on any of them. He told us there's something for every budget and he made each car appealing, without trying to nudge us to the more expensive options. Even when we left to go look at the cars elsewhere, he took the time to text us additional information about the warranties and pricing options so we could compare them with any other cars we might find. He also gave us a heads up to let us know that the other couple who we saw initially eyeing the car had decided not to purchase it, so it was available for a test drive. I could go on and on about his ability to sell a car without being overbearing. But the point is he walked us through every step of the way and never rushed us at any point. Kudos to everyone there.

Brown's actually treated me as a valued customer and didn't try to manipulate me. Larry and Rustin were terrific.
Daniel was terrific. Very personable and friendly. Just seemed like a really nice guy. He's pretty new so still building up his knowledge base but over time I think he'll be a real asset to this place. Our experience with the financing lady was not as warm and fuzzy. I think her name was Michelle. She knew her stuff which is the important thing I guess. But her demeanor was a bit confrontational. Nevertheless, we are very satisfied with our experience and we love our new car. We'd recommend this dealership.

I have come in twice for an oil change with a free car wash coupon. Both times they conveniently refused to wash the car. If you send coupons to customers, you should honor them - at least that's how a good business works.
Bad customer service!!! We were seeing the cars outside for 15 minutes and no one approached towards us...they weren't busy at all. I will buy a car somewhere else
Very satisfied with the customer service I received on my Miata. Edwin was my service advisor and did a great job keeping me informed on the progress of the work. Will definitely be back and recommend to my clients, family, and friends (all three of my kids own various Mazda vehicles and each purchase has been through Browns).
**Edited** The below issues have been fixed. However, I am still rather disappointed after sending an email to the General Manager, Trey, that he could not find time to respond. As you see below, he did have time to respond to my review though. I just think that this is poor customer service and after all of these issues, the General Manager should be reaching out to us directly to make sure that everything has been dealt with and to offer his apologies. Because of this, I stand by my poor review of this dealership.
My fiance and I purchased a used 2013 Mazda 3 Hatchback from Brown's Fairfax Mazda in December 2017. We were thrilled to find exactly what we were looking for and are very happy with our purchase. We worked with Ricky in the preowned department and were very happy with his assistance. I wish I could leave our review at that, however, since signing the papers to purchase the car, we have dealt with problem after problem. One of the first issues we encountered was that an employee had assured us that they sent the necessary paperwork to our credit union so that could get the approved car loan to pick the car up. Come to find out, the paperwork was never sent, possibly because the employee had gotten us confused with another customer. After figuring that out, another employee told us it was not their job to send the paperwork to our credit union because she was not our attorney. We finally got that all straightened out, and got the correct paperwork to our credit union and went to go pick the vehicle up with the full amount in hand. We ended up having to redo all the paperwork because it was done incorrectly. Once that was finished, we left, a little annoyed but very happy to have our new car, which we had spent months saving for to buy. In January 2018, we received a notice from the DMV that our proof of insurance for our new Mazda 3 had never been received. Annoyed at this issue, we sent an email to the dealership to let them know that this was never done. They stated that this was not their error and was a problem with the insurance company, I am still looking into this. After submitting the application for our proof of insurance, we received another notice from the DMV which stated the information they have on record in regard to our title is incorrect. The title they have on record is from the original owner who purchased the vehicle in 2013. I am not sure how this happened or who is at fault but I have reached out twice to the dealership, including the General Manager, and have yet to get a response. Needless to say, we are very frustrated and will not be returning to this dealership to do business in the future. We are also recommending others not do business here or at least are warning them that it might be a massive headache if they do.
I bring my Mazda to fix here for more than one time now satisfied with service. Nathan from the service department is very friendly and professional, he came out and greet me before I even get a chance to get out of my car every time and that I definitely coming back again.

Had a problem that necessitated a drop-in service call without an appointment. Dane immediately took the vehicle, diagnosed the issue, repaired it and got us on our way. An important aspect of quality service is communication - Dane excelled in providing us updates over the course of their actions to effect the repairs. I will be using them again for my Mazda service requirements.
Great job to Floyd Margallo and the staff at Brown's Fairfax Mazda. We bought a car 3/25/2014 and 12/20/11 and couldn't be more pleased. Flloyd gave me an out the door price that was a good deal for the Mazda CX5 SKYactive SUV w/ 35mpg! I highly recommend Brown's Fairfax and Floyd Margallo. I actually drove past the Malloy mazda due to their poor customer service and high pricing.
What a great experience without feeling pushed or pressured ever. My husband and I were looking for a new car and were greeted by Jamal - who had a great personality and was ready with the answers we needed. After test driving we thought we knew we wanted - the CX-5 Grand Touring in Soul red. Of course the red wasn't available in either the Touring or Grand with the features we wanted. At this point we are also working with Doug - who was great to talk to. They suggested looking at All wheel drive and there was one left but it was fully loaded and a bit out of our budget. They worked with us and made some great offers but we choose to think it over for a night. They were very understanding and didn't pressure us at all. We went back the next day - talked and dealed some more and came to a great agreement and I got the beautiful red SUV that I wanted. Again I can't say enough how wonderfully nice everyone was, they made us feel important and valued and it never felt like a sleazy sales pitch = thank you. Look forward to working with them again when we look at a second car.
I'm a first time car buyer and I had a fantastic experience with Brown's. It was genuine and smooth from beginning to end. Rick Lawrenson knows what he's doing and I really appreciated his time and dedication. All the staff I encountered were enthusiastic and helpful. Definitely a place I would recommend.
Finally a place with excellent customer service!! I've been to two other browns Mazda dealerships and BOTH claimed to have rotated my tires after I made my payment and waited over an hour. Here is the catch, I have custom wheel locks and neither of them asked for my key to unlock the wheels. Frauds! this is your job, how many other people have you run this scam on?!? Not at this place, thank you, just thank you for being honest, the other two dealerships need to take notes.

I had a wonderful experience at Brown's Mazda in Fairfax. I was looking to purchase a used car and requested to test drive the car online. Almost immediately, David Chung reached out to me to schedule an appointment. He was flexible when my plans changed last minute. David had extensive knowledge of the vehicle (2013 Ford Edge) and the car's history. He was honest and upfront in letting me know it needed new tires but that an inspection had been completed and everything else was in tip top shape. David was also very friendly and explained everything in detail. He answered every question I had and walked me through the car buying process. David even let me borrow his phone charger when mine was about to die!! Superb service! I could not have asked for a better car buying experience!
We purchased our first Mazda, which is a CX-5 from Brown's. It was a great customer service. The sales person Jennifer who handled our purchase was very responsive, patient and clarify whatever questions we had. Though we had to visit more than once before we decide our purchase, she was very patient and provided time and was able to get a good deal. I purchased a used 2016 CX-5 here a few weeks ago. Nenad and Derrick made this bar none the best car buying experience of my life (and I've had a few). I found the car listed as a "great" deal on cargurus. They honored the price without any hassle. They gave me a very good offer on my trade in, and were willing to provide an "out-the-door" quote over the Internet. They politely moved on when I declined the upsales (e.g., used car warranty). I was so pleased with the service, that when I came back to have a roof rack installed (which I would not have done at the dealer if I wasn't so pleased), I GAVE them the cargo liner from the SUV I had traded in that I had found in my garage. A+ guys. Will happily deal with you in the future.
Nenad was the perfect Mazda sales rep for me - responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and patient. No pressure, no hard selling - he let the product speak for itself, and made sure I saw everything I was interested in before making a final decision. 5+++ stars for Nenad, and I'm impressed with this dealership overall!

Great experience. Went and test drove one of their used vehicles. I was helped by Mohammad who was very informative and not pushy at all. Have never had a Mazda but was really impressed w/ the features. Test drove some other cars at different dealerships but in the end I went with the Mazda. Process was smooth and I was in and out in under an hour and a half when I came back a few days after test driving.
The difference between my typical experience with car sales people and David Chung was night and day. He was fantastic. It was a non-combative experience, more like buying, well, any other product besides cars. Much less stressful. Definitely recommend the dealership.
Buying a car can be a very stressful and daunting task. Luckily, the staff over at Brown's Fairfax Mazda are all knowledgable, friendly, and extremely helpful. I had gone to several car dealerships throughout Fairfax and Alexandria and were met with sleazy, pushy salespeople, before I stopped by Brown's Mazda. Thankfully, this is definitely not the M.O. at Brown's. Billy was one of the better salespeople that I've EVER encountered; very friendly and personable, NOT someone just looking for a sale, and Rawwad was very helpful throughout the process as well. When it came to financing our vehicle, Mehdi took care of us and made the whole process simple and understandable. The entire staff that I dealt with were all extremely easygoing and never pushed my girlfriend and I to make a decision we weren't ready to make.
Overall, my entire venture at Brown's Mazda was extremely positive, and would definitely get another Mazda just because of my experience with the folks at this dealership. I HIGHLY recommend going here!

Recently purchased a 2016 Mazda CX-5 from them. Execellent customer service was provided by Pre-Owned product specialist Baz Mohammad. We didn't not feel rushed throughout the entire process. Baz took his time, guided us through the inventory and provided all the details we needed to make our decision. He was very courteous and professional. We are extremely satisfied with our purchase. I would recommend anyone to Baz Mohammad and Brown s Mazda of Fairfax. The quality of the inventory and customer service is top class.
They are not in the business of making deals but being sarcastic and not very friendly. If you make an offer expect yes or no and that s it. I m assuming I was dealing with a salesman Stan as it was through text. I am in the market and ready to buy but not gonna be taken for a ride. If your a local buyer they may be better to deal with at least I hope so.

I recently purchased a used vehicle. Debbie Hefty took care of the purchase process and was great. After the purchase I had an issue with a tail light and she helped me take care of it with no problem. They also gave me a loaner for some we owe work that had to be done. Very good experience.
