They also have a great staff that will help you out with anything you need. Ingrid was especially helpful. She made sure our home was exactly what we wanted and she made sure it got built in a timely manner. She also sent us updated pictures every week while our home was being built. Me and my family purchased a home in Graystone Reserve recently. It was a very rough process and I went through a lot of up s and downs that were very difficult for me and my husband. There were even times where we wanted to walk away but 2 people specifically were so helpful that came in towards the end. Jessica in the sales office was so kind and patient with us. Any questions we had she answered, even when others seemed as if they didn t want to deal with our issues she was always ready, willing, and able to help us and went above and beyond to assure we were happy. We received a great closing gift that we loved so much. She apologized for how we were feeling and showed compassion which is something no one else had done. She reassured us that from that point on her goal was to make sure we were happy and she was so right. Lastly we had another young lady that worked out on the property named Talisa. This young lady did our walk throughs which were great. She was so informative and answered all questions that we had. She took her time and not once did we feel like we were getting on her nerves. Anything that needed to be fixed after that walk through she fixed and was in and out of our home fixing things we had on our list. We were given an incomplete Warranty book by Katrina and Talisa went and got us a new one with all of the information we needed and explained everything to us in the book which we didn t get when it was first given to us. Even after she unfortunately was no longer working here in Graystone she still helped us without any issues and most importantly when she said she would do something she did it. We truly lost a great employee at Graystone when she was moved. If it had not been for these two young ladies I don t know what my experience would have been but because of them I m giving a 5 star review. If you can see this Jessica and Talisa thank you so much and keep up the great work.
This was the first time we built a house. We spent a lot of time thinking over the decision and visiting the models and site before signing a contract. Cassie and the rest of the sales staff were very accommodating and we didn t feel any pressure to sign. They responded to our questions and emails/texts within hours.
When we decided to move forward, everything went very smoothly. The building superintendent Bronson was very professional and went above and beyond during our walk throughs. We are very happy with the home we have and the experience Chesapeake Homes provided us.
Ramey is the best!! She made our design appointments fun and exciting. She's full of energy and very professional. She wasn't afraid to give her opinion when asked. From the moment we read about Chesapeake Homes we fell in love with their home designs. We visited the site and several model homes and asked a thousand questions before we decided that the Azalea in Kingfisher Pointe was the perfect model home for us. We signed our contract and began the process of building our home just how we wanted it. Nicole and Alexis were our home specialists at Kingfisher Pointe and let me tell you, they do their job!!! We asked them so many questions and any time they didn't know the answer, they would find out and get back to us very quickly. They are the best at their job!! If i could give them both a raise i would!! William and Talisa were the Superintendents who over saw the construction of our home and they also did a phenomenal job at building our home. Its important to note that as it is a construction site their will be some mistakes made during the process, the important thing to know though is that they were taken care of quickly and correctly! They live by their motto of building your home to 100% and follow through on anything that was written in your contract and designed at the design gallery with Stephanie, who is also a great person to work with. She is very knowledgeable and informative as well!! We have now lived in our home for a week and we can't say anything negative about Chesapeake Homes, They have delivered what they promised us!! A beautiful home designed to our liking! What this builder has that other builders lacked was a great team from the moment you walk into their model homes, you are great by friendly and knowledgeable Home specialists like Nicole and Alexis and they treat you like you are family. What really sealed in the deal for us was just how friendly everyone was and how customizable you can make your home. We highly recommend Chesapeake Homes if you are thinking about building a home!! The entire team at 5401 North Chesapeake have been an absolute pleasure to work with. The ladies in the office, Mary and Lisa were warm and welcoming from our first tour and throughout the home buying process. I sent countless emails and had endless questions, to which they were always receptive and patient.
Steve is amazing. We met with him to do our first walk through and immediately knew that we were in good hands. He was thorough and treated us like family. When we moved into our home, everything was perfect and tiny imperfections had all been resolved, as promised. We ve had questions since moving in and Steve has been so helpful and quick to respond in every instance. So thankful to live in a community with such great energy and sweet people. So my and husband and I bought a house 3/2019 and there was issue with the house that we didn t see on walk through like my door frame in master bedroom bathroom doors will not shut. Granite countertop installed and the second day in the home the countertop changed colors I called and they told me to put it on the twelve week inspection done! Patio door to the house will not lock called and they had to come out numerous times to fix my door couldn t lock my door to my house brand new Now. Took them over two months to fix the floors in my foyer when they finally came out they installed the floors and Didn't fix the panel pieces on the side left them unpainted I let that slide. Couldn t cut my kitchen lights on in the kitchen when we finally moved in weeks later mind you it was light when we did walk through had to have electrician come back out and rewire my kitchen and I let that slide. Now we get to the 12 weeks inspection schedule me two months later and then missed the appointment reschedule another three weeks later at home and waiting on warranty guy I get a note on my door saying I missed him no phone call to state he was at the house to see if we was home cars in driveway etc. Now the granite countertops will not be covered because I put a Hot Pot on the countertop. Really I Never put a hot pot on any countertop but I do know that granite is not suppose to change colors or stain if install correctly I have had granite counters top before never had a problem. So to all you inspiring buyers please please take your time in the walk through Don t sign any papers until the work get done because after that you just a number to them. I know it s not me because my neighbors has had similar issue with getting work done after you close and warranty book what is that I didn t even get one until after I close nothing was filled out mild you everyone that worked on my house and construction inspector is No longer with Chesapeake homes so now it there words against mine get everything in writing I don t care how little it is! Go to talk to the agent at the model Nicole she tells me she should be helping me no way! Make sure you have you stuff in writing!!!
Where do we start. From start to finish Alexis was the perfect saleswoman and guide. Her responsiveness really made us feel like we were family or long time friends. EVERY time we called or emailed she answered the phone or quickly got back to us with complete information desired. So the short tell of our story is that we are a military family moving from Greatlakes, IL with less than 3wks of time to move and me getting underway. Needless to say they Alexis and her team made it happen with so much extra love it was unbelievable. All of our home inspection tours went well and the neighborhood is perfect!!!!!!!! Peaceful, quiet, and perfectly located. Alexis made our first home buying experience painless. The only hard painful part out of it all was the waiting game for our keys and to walk in to our new home which I think all new homeowners feel. Truly this is how home buying should be. We love our new home and haven t experienced any real problems. The builder came out and fixed the few minor items that needed attention. Mainly just a couple of nail pops. The salespeople (Ginger, Hallie and Katrina) were so professional and helpful with the purchase of our new home and it was a pleasure doing business with them. This was our first time building a new home and they made it as stress free as possible.
My husband and I had a less than favorable experience with previous builders/agents we were planning to build our "forever home" with. So, when we had to start the process again, we were skeptical to trust anyone. Our mindset was if we don't expect anything this time around, we won't be disappointed. We are two positive-minded people, but decided we were going to look at one more house before taking a break from looking. We were mentally drained. The last house we looked at was with Chesapeake Homes. It was literally torrential rain falling that day, but it was as if God was telling me we needed to go look at this house.
We met Alexis Prince that day. She was friendly from the start. You could sense that she wasn't driven by selling a house as much as she was for ensuring we had a "home" that made us happy. She genuinely cared about what we wanted. Alexis was aware of our previous circumstances with our other builders and instead of trying to immediately get us to sign on the dotted line for a house with Chesapeake Homes, she instead requested for us to ask her any questions we had and to tell her our concerns. We were full of questions and she answered them to our satisfaction. Her responses weren't "full of fluff". We've traveled that road before and could now spot it immediately. So, now we are in our "forever home" and extremely happy. We had multiple items come with our home we thought we would have to purchase, but because of Alexis', we didn't have to. To the entire staff who assisted in the smooth process of our locating/financing/closing on our home, we are truly Thankful to God for each of you.

I recently purchased a townhome from Chesapeake Homes and I cannot be happier. From the beginning of the process, to the end they were professional and made me feel included in all decisions. I actually was not looking to buy a new place when I first went to the development, but after I saw everything and spoke to Mary at the model, that quickly changed.
The designer did a great job with this layout. I have a middle unit but I have tons of light. I swore I was not going to ever live in a middle unit again due to the darkness, but the representative at the model was right when she said there is plenty of light. I love the private backyard and detached garage. It is like I have my own house, but it is a townhouse.
Not only is it beautiful but even after the closing and all the walk throughs they are still there for me. I have emailed the builder's representative (Steve) on multiple occasions and they have been great at getting back to me. They have a great warranty on everything. They have a 12 week warranty where I can have the painter come back in and touch up the paint job where I scuffed it up during moving in. My last townhouse did not have that, and it was also new construction.
For anyone looking to buy a new townhouse, I would highly recommend Chesapeake Homes.

We lived in a three-bedroom condo in the New Jersey area for thirty-two years and wanted to relocate to the Virginia Beach area near our son s family. Our search began with looking on the Internet in the MLS Norfolk area for a used house. This was disappointing, driving us to the new house market. After two months of scanning the internet at overpriced condos we decided to come to VA and personally look over the area. After a weekend we came up empty and were in the process of going home. Linda, my wife, was viewing the newspaper and found something. I was reluctant, but acquiesced. We traveled to Portsmouth, VA to look at a new housing development. The house looked good from the outside, so we went in and talked with Victoria Prince, the sales manager. We talked for a few minutes and I asked if I could view the entire house; which I did while the two women talked.
After going through the entire house, I realized it was exactly what we ve been looking for. To this point in our lives we had purchased several homes working with several real estate agents. It was always the same, they take you through the house, make promises, get your signature on the paper and vanish.
Victoria didn t do that. She was the head of a team of three, Victoria, Jessica, and Talisa. They took us through everything about the house, and they remained in contact with us, answering our questions, taking care of everything we needed.
We lived in New Jersey, so we corresponded via telephone, text messaging, E-mail, and the postal service. We contacted the team before, during, and after we purchased the house. Actually, we contacted them so much I began to feel guilty. At one point after we purchased the house, I carried a hand truck up the stairs and dropped it. It went through the wall. I called Talisa, one of the team and She gave me a company to call; they sent someone over to fix the property. Of course, I had to pay for it, but after all, I did the damage.
I have never purchased a house that was as pleasant an experience.
Living in the house has been a real pleasure. The people here are friendly and courteous. When we first moved in, people approached us and said, Welcome to Portsmouth.

Chesapeake Homes built our new house in Moyock. The entire experience, from sales to design to building and walk-throughs to closing was professional, well-orchestrated, and smooth. Although every home owner is covered under a warranty and told how to submit a claim, we haven't needed to submit anything. It has been 13 months since we closed and the structure and mechanicals are in as good a shape as the day we moved in. We had several options in the area when it came to builders, including 2 others in our neighborhood alone. Yet my wife and I have commented many times on how glad we were to have chosen Chesapeake Homes. Some of our neighbors chose other builders and can't say the same. We have zero regrets about our decision!
We are absolutely in love with our new construction home that we had built through Chesapeake Homes. In comparison to the other new build companies and neighborhoods in the area, we are very happy with the floor plan we chose, all of our options and the neighborhood we chose to live in. This was the worse experience I had buying a home!! Builder nickels and dimes you for every deposit.... please read the fine print when it comes to deposits for upgrades that you have to do because the house basically comes with nothing that doesn't need to be upgraded. Just overall a bad experience I lost 7,000 dollars on my deal because at the last minute the builder wanted to charge me late fees for items I wanted to add. In the end this builder was so bad I walked away from the 7k and chose to buy somewhere else.... Buyer beware!!!!!!
We contracted Chesapeake Homes to build our home. Chesapeake Homes was attentive from the start as they answered our neverending questions. Throughout the process, they were very responsive and helpful to explain the process or solve problems. After completion we were throughly impressed with the quality of work and they were prompt to correct a few minor issues discovered. We would highly recommend building with Chesapeake Homes!
Cassie and Katrina played an important role in the decision process in selecting the builder of our new home. They were the first two people we met with to gather information about Chesapeake Homes. Cassie and Katrina were very well versed in the business processes and procedures for starting the way forward to purchase a new home.

I never heard of Chesapeake Homes prior to moving to Raleigh, NC from South Carolina. On a whim on a Saturday afternoon, I decided to look at some houses in a subdivision called 5401 North. I was living in an apartment not far from there and was ready to purchase a house again. So, I went there to look at the different builders and the homes they had to offer. Out of the 3 builders in the community at that time Chesapeake Homes caught my eye the most.
The storage space (love that option that I have in my garage), the open floor plan of their 3 story townhouses and the standard options available were really good. It just felt right! So I went under contract for a new construction 3 story townhouse and closed this past May. Despite the global pandemic which slowed somethings down in the development community, the builder's onsite contact, Steve/Mary, was\is ALWAYS responsive, patient, and professional (he helped me when I locked myself out TWICE, lol), pet friendly, existing and new neighbors are pleasant, the different food trucks have been pretty nice since COVID had restaurants on a standstill for a while, and it's a great community to get great workouts in outdoors.
And finally, my Alex, my 10 year old Yorkie poo, loves his people gazing out on the deck everyday lol. I'm pleased with and am enjoying my new home... now on to decorating!
Homes are beautiful. However, the walls in the stacked units have extremely poor sound insulation (less than apartment grade). Sound from music and normal conversation from neighbors are easily transferred through the walls. Inspect your walls carefully before purchasing from this builder! Awaiting a response from the builder rep about this issue after initial complaint back in December.
Be prepared to be treated like a number... they don't need your business and they act like it !
We first reached out to them months ago, have had 2 different in person appts, did everything they asked, got pre approved and wrote a check to reserve a lot; which we did not get. Just called again about another development and was treated like someone just calling for the first time and haven't been in contact with them, trying to get a house since July. Zero personal experience.
Once we got past the two year mark that's when the problems started. Drive way crumbling, pipes bursting, stone on the house falling off, had to replace all five toilets after the four year mark. Flooring downstairs popping up. We've replaced all the appliances except the fridge. Bottom line my husband and I can no longer reccomend this builder.
Victoria was great to work with! She was always responsive whenever I reached out to her with any concern. She was extremely professional and attentive to me as a buyer. When I needed to make decisions and asked her opinion, Victoria offered recommendations based on her experiences professionally and personally. I trusted her input and the entire experience was enjoyable!
We absolutely love our home & the community. Chesapeake Homes has always been quick to respond to any questions or concerns we ve had. Their staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. They made us feel right at home from the very start creating a second to none family atmosphere.
