Such a great experience! I needed help finding the right snowboarding boot and Hank listened to my concerns and then found some great options for me. He was knowledgeable and so patient! I found the perfect boot and they weren t even the most expensive, they were just the right fitting boot for my foot. Hank also helped my boyfriend with buying one of their used boards and helped me decide on some bindings. I can t recommend Hank & Epic Mountain Gear more for your boarding (and probably skiing) needs!

I really appreciate the time and attention that the team gives when selecting new kit. The dedication to fitting ski boots is also second to none. Big thanks for the team for going the extra mile! Oddly enough, customer service seems to be on-point during the busiest days, but on the quieter weekdays, finding assistance can prove challenging.

Dont waste your time - Seriously - Wasted over an hour after waiting in their very dis-organized line system and went through the whole fitting and forms process just to find out they did not have a large enough binding to fit the boot - mind you i called the evening prior to confirm they could accommodate the size. Worst costumer service ever due to lack of organization, not to mention slow moving customer service - fortunately went to their competitor up the street and was in and out within 15-20 minutes. I know where I am going from now on - NOT BSD

Decent prices on things, but lacking in customer service. The three techs I spoke with were sadly less than knowledgable and one in particular had a serious attitude. Can't say I will ever return to this shop with Christy Sports just a few blocks away.

Hands down the best ski-boot buying experience ever! Nathaniel was awesome and listened to my concerns and desires when helping me try out and decide on boots. He paid attention to the details of my feet when considering options for me. They let me take my time and didn't engage in high-pressure sales. But the BEST PART EVER is that they match prices from other retailers and found a sick discount for me online. Not only did I end up with a great pair of customizable boots, but I didn't pay an exorbitant amount for them!

Christy Sports recommended Boulder Ski Deals for K2 binding hardware that I needed. The gentleman working in the snowboard department searched for 15-20 minutes and found the exact hardware that nobody else had. One of the hardest working young kids in the store and I wish I had his name so that he could be recognized.

BAD EXPERIENCE!

BAD EXPERIENCE!

Renting Ski deals from here'll guarantee that you're day won't be satisfying !

hmm.. where do I start from! Skies weren't waxed, and adjusted properly to the ski boots that we rented from them. We were not able to attach the boots to the skies, and even when we did it was not stable and kept on jiggling !! I even had professional guys that work in Eldora Mountain Resort the ski rentals section to look and see what the problem was, yet even they couldn't fix it.

And you know what the best part is ? The best part is when the day is already ruined, and when you turn the gear and complain about what happened to who is responsible and they just don't believe ya:D.

Bad Gear, Bad workers, will never rent from this place again.

I have bought gear from BSD since their location was on Pearl St. in Boulder.....many years ago. They've always treated me right. Last week I brought in my 12 year old son's board (that I bought off craigslist). I talked with Adam and he adjusted the angle of the bindings for free for us. When I said we also needed new boots but didn't have a lot to spend, he said he had a pair that he could grow into that were a few years old....perfect. And for $30!!!

You guys rock! Thanks! Great service, great folks.

Went to Boulder today due to a pair of boots I had bought somewhere else not fitting well, after talking to several salespeople who were all helpful, I ended up being fitted with a new pair of boots at an excellent price. I've boarded for almost 10 years now and I was very impressed with the customer service and prices that they offered here, and I would certainly go back.

Just bought skis, boots and related accessories for the first time in 15 years and had the best experience with the staff at Boulder Ski Deals. Fred helped me choose boots and skis and really took the time to listen to what I wanted, what I worried about re: boots, and also took the time to educate me (and the other customers present) about how to choose boots and the process of fitting them. I will definitely return to Fred with any issues or questions, and I can't wait to tell him how everything worked out on the slopes. Michael helped me to choose my helmet, goggles and mid-layer items. And again - took the time to listen to what I thought I wanted/needed and also to educate me about the technology available. While I was in the store, I had several staff members ask me if I needed any assistance. Nothing but great things to say about this place!

I hadn t been back here in a couple years due to a poor experience previously. I decided to give it another shot this season
I walked in and was greeted by Hank in snowboards. Hank was amazing. He actually treated me like a person, and not a sale. He spent time with me to find the perfect boot with the perfect fit. You could tell he actually cared about my experience and ensuring I had the right gear for a great season. Ha k also was able to track down the pair of bindings I was in able to find. I looked everywhere, couldn t find them. Hank has them delivered to me in 2 days. He also got me the boots and bindings at a discounted price! Hank is really awesome and will make your day as he made mine.
I also spoke with the manager Chad to inform him of my great experience. Again, Chad was fantastic. He was very appreciative that I let him know and offered me a free tune for my board and troubles from 2 YEARS ago.
I really couldn t have asked for a better customer experience.
I highly recommend Epic Mountain Gear.

My son and I came in to do a large purchase of skis, boots, and bindings for him, and snowboard boots and a snowboard for me. Dale helped us and he was awesome. Super-efficient and knowledgeable. I don't normally take the time to write these but it was such a good experience I decided to do it. Outstanding!

Went in with intentions to back a large purchase and get my board waxed and sharpened . Could not find anyone customer service to help me in snowboard section and when I went to the cashier she said there is a huge waitlist to get equipment tuned and I wouldn t be able to have my board in a month . Huge let down taking my snow sports money and moving it else where .

The manager then helped me with other accessories and made sure I was happy with all my purchases. My shopping experience was very positive. I left a happy customer.

Stood in front of the service counter for five minutes before one of the three employees talking behind the counter finally addressed me. Once they finally talked to me it was obvious they thought they had better things to do.

Would not mount bindings since I did not have the ski boot with me, even though I wrote down the boot sole length on the ski. Said it was a liability. Really? What about all those waivers I sign before you work on any ski? Can't you just write on the service order that customer provided BSL and is responsible for error?

Retail prices are on the expensive side. Sticking with Evo and Level 9 online, and mounting my own bindings from here on out. Places like this are why brick and mortar shops aren't winning the battle with internet shops.

Very rude customer service. I originally went there to get my skis tuned and they split the ski near the binding and didn't even offer to cover the cost of the wax! I am a very avid skier and know this was them and they brushed it under the rug, when I got the warranty and brought the new skis for mounting they claimed to forget about what happened completely and were very rude when I was looking at boots. Overall terrible experience every time I go in there. Christy Sports here I come

Very helpful, good ski boot fitting, ridiculously slow binding adjustment! Overall, I am happy with their service, expertise, and selection. But there is no excuse for them to take three weeks to adjust ski bindings for boots when they don't have to remount the bindings. When I've rented skis, they adjust the bindings in 30 seconds per ski. I have to drive an hour round-trip to their store. They spend an hour fitting the boot, but won't spend five minutes adjusting the binding, so I have to wait three weeks and spend another hour of my life in the car to pick up my skis.

For without that search engine,
we'd be lost as a kitten,

why we wanted to give them our money,

without a doubt, the far-superior store,

My kids were traumatized and couldn t believe the staff agreed with the woman screaming at me.

My friend bought brand new skis and bindings from epic, and then had them mount the skis for him. It took around 2 months, I understand it is a big store with lots of business but 2 months is a bit overboard just to have them mounted. The costumer service was awful (except for Kyle), and they mounted the skis on the center line when he asked to have it on the recommended, if anyone knows anything about skis this can make a huge difference in how it skis. The whole process took way too long and they still didn't even do it right. Overall I would recommend nobody to go here, but if you do ask for Kyle.

Dez is the man! He works in the shop, but stepped out to help me fit some snowboard boots. I've made the mistake of not trying boots on, reading reviews and ordering online because I hate shopping. He convinced me to try a bunch on, schooled me on the new technology and was professional. I appreciated the knowledge coming from a young dude who certainly rides harder then me and puts the products I was looking at to the test. I will definitely look to purchase more gear from Boulder Ski Deals after the personalized customer service I received tonight.

I bought a pair of skis, boots, and Bindings from John and I couldn't be happier to recommend him as your Go to Expert Boot fitter / ski Guru. I had very specific pain issues that he helped my resolve with my boot purchase. He also listened carefully to my specific goals with my next set of skis and sold me a pair of skis that are exactly what I was looking for.

If you want to buy from someone who is nice, professional, who listens carefully, and keeps the selections to a minimum, John is your guy. AND for the cherry on top. Epic Mountain Gear price matches for up to 30 days after you buy. WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have to give a shout out to Tom in the Goggle / helmet department. I have had ill-fitting Goggles for years, and he got me in a pair of sweet goggles that fit awesome. Again... Great listener and super easy to work with.

If you're trying to outfit your family with gear, ...

If you're trying to outfit your family with gear, this is hands down the best deal we've found in Colorado - and we've done Christy's for several years and REI before that. As far as service goes, we felt it nothing short of spectacular. Elliot and his team took great care of us (our fitters were Charles, Malcolm, Brendan, and Dale) and each took ample time with our kids to determine both the correct boot and ski size. This was not an easy task: my kids are 8, 6, 4 1/2, and almost 3. Strong willed, stubborn, and easily bored. And let's be honest, getting fitted for ski boots isn't fun no matter how old you are. These guys were extremely patient and went out of their way to make sure the kids "had fun" while going through the process of trying on multiple boots. At one point (actually quite a few) my darling son decided it a great idea to rip apart every boot box he could find. Seriously, just kept ripping boxes despite all pleas and threats to stop. The he started grabbing random goggles out of boxes while we're fighting the 2 year old to get her boots on - trust me, this wasn't how you wanted to start a Saturday. I'm only including these details because the guys we worked with handled the situation like pros. Elliot and his team were up to the challenge, and when you have an experience that far exceeds expectations, you want to share these "hacks" with other parents. Strongly recommend. Plus given that I can return these next year for a 50% credit (if we need to), and walked out with 3 sets of new and 1 set of used for 800 bucks, this was the deal of the century.

I will add for context, not everyone will have the same experience we did. After 3 years of waiting until Oct/Nov to rent skis (holy epic waste of money) and knowing we needed 4 sets of all new equipment, we decided to be proactive. I also checked in with the store ahead of time to ask when the absolute "best" time to bring the kids in would be. I'm guessing based on past experiences the waiting will get longer - they even said, later in the season it's usually one fitter per family rather than one fitter per kid. That doesn't detract from the simple fact these guys knew what they were doing, were extremely helpful, and went out of their way to make our experience an excellent one (probably a good idea since we have 6 skiers in the family and have basically become a lifetime annuity).

For a final note, my service experience was equally fantastic when I went to pick the sticks up. While I was prepared with 4 ski straps and a boot bag, Dan insisted on helping me out and carrying the skis. I only mention it because that doesn't happen often - there was simply not a single thing these guys could have done to improve my experience, except maybe given me an IPA.

Thanks Boulder Ski Deals - you guys really get it.

I'm changing my review from 1 star to 5 because the manager Mario responded to my 1st review & contacted me & apologized & installed new Hotronic boot warmers to replace the broken one. I am a very happy customer now & will definitely shop there again!!!At Epic Mountain Gear i bought & had them install a set of Hotronic Ski Boot Warmers for &265.00. 3 weeks & only 3 skiing sessions later the rubber seal of one warmer began splitting apart for no reason so the heat cuts off. When I brought the boots in to show them one employee said Yeah that s always the 1st part to go. & another said Hopefully Hotronic will honor their warranty. No help what so ever from Epic.

The $45 spent on the 'professional' tune would have been better spent giving it to the hobo out front. What work was done will need to be redone. When I pointed out that the edges were still rusty, they ran in back and scrapped it off (gee thanks). I can't cut butter with this edge! It took 5 days, the edges were not touched, the wax is clumpy in parts, and the ptex is wavy by over a mm! Seriously, next time I'll give the cash to a hobo with a candle, lighter, and chisel and I know I'd get better results.

Do not trust Boulder Ski Deals with your equipment...

Do not trust Boulder Ski Deals with your equipment.

Bought brand new skis and bindings last year and trusted Boulder Ski Deals to set the bindings on the skis. Boulder Ski Deals did not set the DIN settings correctly which is a serious safety issue. I had an improper release on the first day first run and the ski binding brake failed. After examining the brake on the other ski which was uncompromised, I realized the brake had not been set properly. Basically, the brake didn't have enough room to clear the ski so it would rub against the ski when you clicked in. On top of that, the brake barely cleared the ski. In my experience, brakes are supposed to clear the ski handily. I brought the ski back to Boulder Ski Deals and told them what happened. They blamed the manufacturer- Saloman. The ski tech said it was a new model brake and he had received several complaints, but he agreed to try to bend the brake to make it clear the ski by a significant margin as usual. He was able to do that and in his defense it has worked, I've never experienced another brake issue. However, it made me wonder why they suggested I buy that binding in the first place and also made me wonder why they didn't communicate the brake problem initially and bend the brake to make it safer in the first place.

I went on to discuss the odd nature of the binding failure- it felt like something was wrong with the binding to me. The ski tech told me that they had to set each ski to a different DIN setting. When I questioned this, he said that he couldn't get the bindings to pass (the standard binding release tests) unless he set them as they did- if I remember correctly one ski was set to 8 and one ski was set to 9. I walked away still unsure but had to hope for the best since they are the "experts." I had my skis tuned today at Breck Sports and they set my DIN to 9.5. Same info- height, weight, skier type- only change was ski shop. My DIN setting did not and should not have been set to two different settings. I've never trusted my setup since I bought it- I had several early releases after this encounter and am lucky I wasn't injured. I'm disappointed in the purchase and beyond disappointed in Boulder Ski Deals.

Bottom line- stay away from Boulder ski deals. Setting bindings is 101. If they can't accomplish this task, I wouldn't trust them. Boulder ski Deals failed twice. I came back after the binding failed after one day and informed them of a binding problem and they still set it wrong. Shame

I have been shopping at Epic for four years now for myself and family, and I always refer them to anyone wanting gear. There is a reason for that: Hank Rooney. Hank and his team have provided second to none customer service and have more knowledge than I could ever imagine. On top of the knowledge and recommendations, Hank provided assistance after purchase help. Unfortunately, my board had a defect, and he was on it like white on rice. I get my new board tomorrow!

I d like to thank Hank and his team for unmatched service.

I called BSD looking for a brake that broke on my 5 year old bindings. They said to come on by and they would see what they could do. I brought my ski and the gentlemen that helped me took my ski back for 10 minutes and brought it back with a lightly used brake installed. He said no charge and that he was glad to help. What? Robert in Boulder is a rock star!

Robert in Boulder is a rock star!

I needed a new pair of ski boots to replace my old, tired pair. After reading reviews online and checking to see which retailers carried the boots that seemed most likely to fit me, I went into Epic Mountain Gear in Boulder. The boot sales person/fitter , Robert, was AMAZING as are the new boots and the industry's thinking on boot configurations and adjustments. Here's the good news all around:
1 - The industry has finally figured out that they need to make boots of all lasts/volumes for all ability levels. So, you can get the boot that fits your anatomy in a boot for a novice all the way up to racer level.
2 - Boot fitting theory no longer pushes skiers into boots that are multiple sizes too small (as was suggested to me in this store a few years ago by a different fitter) They now suggest your toes have a bit of room (just enough to be comfortable which makes sense) and see value in having your foot in a boot that doesn't squeeze so tight side to side or over the top that it hurts even when it's unbuckled.
3 - Fitters like Robert now have even more tools at their disposal to adjust the stock boot. They can work or replace the insoles, heat and adjust very specific areas of the shell or liners or change larger areas as needed.
After more than 50 years of skiing and wrestling with boots on my unique foot anatomy, this experience has been delightful - the best I've ever had.
I highly recommend these folks.

Great selection. Often receive good help but sometimes have to work to find someone who can answer a question.

Kids gear trade in program is handy; they even had new boot options for my kids who wear adult sizes. However, they don't mention until afterwards that the "complete gear package" doesn't include poles, which you have to buy new at full price. They mounted bindings on the skis while we were there but said we'd have to come back in a few days so they could finish prepping the skis. Got the skis, but the slopes and discovered the price tag was still on the bottom of the ski, so they clearly never waxed them. If appears they did absolutely nothing with the skis during that time.

Whether you need outerwear, underwear, gear, tuning or repair, this is the BEST place in the Denver/Boulder area. Prices are lower than Sports Authority, Christy Sports, and other stores. Customer service is top-notch, and the staff go the extra mile to make sure you have the best experience when you get on the slopes. My friend and I drive to Boulder Ski Deals all the way from Denver even if we just need a pair of socks.

Recently, I stopped in to buy a new pair of boots since mine felt too small. Instead of just throwing a new pair of $150+ Burtons my way, the sales rep, Jackson, had my boots remolded to fit my feet. He even came in on his day off to do it! You can bet I'll be a loyal customer for life.

The reason I come here is all about the employees....

The reason I come here is all about the employees. Hannah is a boot fitting genius. She knows boots and skis like no one else. But i've also worked with other people who knew their stuff too. I had one pair of boots fit by another guy who was a Rockstar. Then I just worked with Christian. Christian really went the extra mile to help me adjust the fit of a pair of AT boots that were giving me problems.

I'd really recommend anyone come here for boot fitting, and for sales on used skis and clearance boots. There full prices are pretty standard and nothing special, but their clearance bargains are steals.

But again, the people here are the best. Ask for Hannah or Christian.

Went to get my bindings mounted and got promised that they had the jig for my bindings (demo version of Tyrolia AAATack 13) when I specified that they were demo bindings the service representative (Connor) told me he was certain that they had the jig to mount them. Three weeks later when my skis were supposed to done I arrived to pick up my skis at the end of the day and they said the hadn't started on them yet but they would rush them to be done within 20 minutes. I waited and when I came back my entire set up was out by the service counter and I was told they did not have the proper jig. When I asked as to why Connor told me that they had the proper jig the service representative, Hugh, said "Oh he's new." Apparently at Boulder Ski Deals incompetence and lack of information is a valid excuse for wasting three weeks of a customers time. In addition to this I was met only with rude customer service, I would never recommend Boulder Ski Deals.

Worst experience ever. My go-to place for all my gear since 1987 and I will never walk into that establishment again after a manager deliberately went out of his way to be confrontational and insulting to me in front of my 10 year old daughter. Went to pick up brand new skis today from Boulder Ski Deals and they had me confirm the DIN settings before taking them away (1 star earned for that at least). However, one of them was way off, which could easily have resulted in a bad accident. 30 years ago my mother broke her leg for exactly this reason, and she has been severely disabled ever since. Many would not have actually checked the settings, even if asked. I'm pretty appalled. That's the last time I buy anything from Boulder Ski Deals!!
