Do not trust Boulder Ski Deals with your equipment.
Bought brand new skis and bindings last year and trusted Boulder Ski Deals to set the bindings on the skis. Boulder Ski Deals did not set the DIN settings correctly which is a serious safety issue. I had an improper release on the first day first run and the ski binding brake failed. After examining the brake on the other ski which was uncompromised, I realized the brake had not been set properly. Basically, the brake didn't have enough room to clear the ski so it would rub against the ski when you clicked in. On top of that, the brake barely cleared the ski. In my experience, brakes are supposed to clear the ski handily. I brought the ski back to Boulder Ski Deals and told them what happened. They blamed the manufacturer- Saloman. The ski tech said it was a new model brake and he had received several complaints, but he agreed to try to bend the brake to make it clear the ski by a significant margin as usual. He was able to do that and in his defense it has worked, I've never experienced another brake issue. However, it made me wonder why they suggested I buy that binding in the first place and also made me wonder why they didn't communicate the brake problem initially and bend the brake to make it safer in the first place.
I went on to discuss the odd nature of the binding failure- it felt like something was wrong with the binding to me. The ski tech told me that they had to set each ski to a different DIN setting. When I questioned this, he said that he couldn't get the bindings to pass (the standard binding release tests) unless he set them as they did- if I remember correctly one ski was set to 8 and one ski was set to 9. I walked away still unsure but had to hope for the best since they are the "experts." I had my skis tuned today at Breck Sports and they set my DIN to 9.5. Same info- height, weight, skier type- only change was ski shop. My DIN setting did not and should not have been set to two different settings. I've never trusted my setup since I bought it- I had several early releases after this encounter and am lucky I wasn't injured. I'm disappointed in the purchase and beyond disappointed in Boulder Ski Deals.
Bottom line- stay away from Boulder ski deals. Setting bindings is 101. If they can't accomplish this task, I wouldn't trust them. Boulder ski Deals failed twice. I came back after the binding failed after one day and informed them of a binding problem and they still set it wrong. Shame
