Darren at the Boulder store helped me fit and exchange skis for 2 young children who couldn't come into the store. His willingness to figure it out and his positive attitude turned my frustrating day around, Great, competent guy!!

Ellen, Hank, and Benji were top notch! We couldn't have asked for a better experience with this store. From the prices, to the knowledge and honest advice based on our riding styles, these guys were amazing. Ellen waxed my board, fixed my boa cables, fit my boots to my feet, and put my new bindings on my old board. She was patient and so helpful! Hank spent tons of time helping my husband with his new boots and bindings, and made recommendations for a new board for him, as well, even though they didn't have it in the store! We were able to visit a sister store and pick it up, after Hank called to confirm inventory. My husband is thrilled to try out his new gear! Thank you guys for the amazing help and service!

Fair pricing, good matching policy, excellent customer service!

Hank was awesome to work with. I came in on several occasions to get help and opinions on snow sport helmets and snowboarding boots. I was very pleased with the knowledge and service provided. I never felt pressured to buy even after multiple no sale visits. The advice given felt impartial and professional... plus a got a great deal on a complete boot package that ended up costing less than the original sale price of the boots alone! Highly recommend this place for snow sports!

I went to get my board waxed here last night and they got it back to me this morning, which is very cool considering it was a hand wax and scrape. Awesome group of employees overall and very nice prices compared to other ski shops like christy sports.

Update: my board is for some reason problematic and the wax came right off, and I explained the situation to them before I got it waxed and when I came back to get an opinion on my board. I showed them my board and they said it shouldn't look like that after a day and gave me a free wax, asked around about my board, and got it back to me by the next day! The person I spoke to seemed to be in charge and was just next level customer service and insisted on giving me a free wax even though I always blamed the board (I just wanted to show it and get an opinion on why this keeps happening). It's the little things that matter and I could not possibly be happier!!!

Took me an hour to pick up my rentals because they only had 2 staff working the counter. Had heard great things about this service, unfortunatly josh the store manager in boulder has ruined the experiance for me. I asked if there was anyway to get more people to help and he said he only had 2 techs certified. Very disappointed.

Let me start with the fact that I rarely experience a level of customer service that leaves me blown away, and that's exactly how I felt after getting my first boot fitting with John. I came in the Sunday right after Black Friday to get a boot fitting and a new set of skis, and luckily for me, John was available. Not only is he very approachable, John took the time to educate me on the specs of the boots and bindings. He's extremely detail oriented and took the time to explain why the smallest margins in his measurements matter. I needed an entire set and was really impressed at how efficient he was in matching me with the right pieces while attending to other guests as well.

After recovering from a sports injury, safety has become my main concern. After inquiring John's background a bit, it was very comforting to know that not only does he have a decade of experience, he is continuously developing his craft from top experts in the field. He seems very passionate about what he does, and his candor made me feel like he was looking out for my best interest every step of the way. Even though the demo skis were sold out, he still managed to match me with a new pair of skis at a great deal.

It was hands down the best shopping experience I've had in my 2 years living in Boulder. I believe anyone who is in hospitality, sales, or customer service can take away a lot from John. On top of that, I even got a follow up call directly from him about additional adjustments, and my skis were ready a week earlier than the original pick up date. I understand that he could have just skipped the phone call altogether and made the adjustments without my consent, and I wouldn't even have noticed. This is a guy who doesn't skip any steps or cut corners, which I greatly appreciate. Epic mountain gear overall seems like a very well oiled machine ran by strong leaders, which includes the people I didn't get to meet face to face. Thank you everyone at Epic Mountain Gear, including the ladies at the cashier desk, who made my first ski shopping experience so wonderful. The entire team made me want to come back even though I never want to spend that kind of money at any store again :)

I bought a pair of nice Salomon boots from here, they had a lot of selection in different brands and styles. This applies to their skis and apparel as well. Staff is decently helpful, if a little pushy in sales. Overall a good experience.

Another disappointing visit to what once was a great Boulder Store...not only are the "epic" deals non existent...I could not get a single person to acknowledge my presence...and there were very few other customers in the place...Sorry VA your corporate mind set is not the vibe this Boulder long time skiing customer will tolerate

Phenomenal customer services. I went in looking for a gift for my coworker that was under $15. Josh immediately led me to some hot selling items that were super cool. He even found tissue paper to add to the bag so it looked gift appropriate. Very impressed!

Horrible customer service every time I went to the...

Horrible customer service every time I went to the store. Purchased an entire AT set up only to break both boots due to poor mounting (is what two different techs said in Crested Butte). When attempting to to resolve warranty issue was only mocked by the manager Josh. I eventually received the the boots after Scott issued a credit. Only to miss 3 weeks of the ski season. If you are in Boulder I would never go to Boulder ski deals, go to Christy Sports!

Staff and management are so great! I got a great deal on a whole setup and they gave me great service. Love the trade in program. Go during the week though, lines get a little crazy on the weekends .

I have never had such poor service from a ski shop. I went in and bought a brand new pair of skis and bindings and then proceeded to have them mounted in store as well. At checkout I asked about how long it would take and the person helping me said no longer than a week. Two weeks go by, I call, they say they are working on them and should be ready by the end of the week. The end of the week comes around, no call. I call in the beginning of the following week and they proceed to put me on hold for 25 minutes while trying to get the status on my skis. I hang up after waitingg 25 minutes because I figured the employee most likely forgot I was on the line, considering it should only take about 2 minutes to check on my order status. I was patient and waited until the end of that week before I called again. When I called at the end of the week, a manager told me that the due date on my ticket was actually for November 19, a whole month and a half after I had originally been told they were gonna be ready. First off, it shouldn't take more than a week or two to get your skis returned too you. Second, the people I dealt with were inconsiderate. And third, the original due date I was told was a week from when I had dropped them off. The icing on the cake is that once they were ready I came in to pick them up and the bindings were center mounted, despite the fact that I had asked them to be mounted 4 cm behind center. All of this in combination with each other has caused for my single worst experience at any ski shop. I asked for a refund since they messed up the mount and drilled wholes in my skis where they shouldn't have and they declined. Instead they offered to remount my skis for free but after the experience I had I was not going to give them my skis for another month and a half. Terrible customer service and no expertise. Me and my friends will never be stepping foot in the Boulder Epic store again.

For tuning I use a smaller/local shop but have been very happy with the kids exchange program. My last ski purchase left me very happy with BSD. I bought a style of ski I hadn't skiied befor on the advice of a salesperson. After using for 3 days I demo'd another ski while at Steamboat and liked it much better. I was familar with their return policy, but skeptical. I called and Leana went above and beyond by getting the new skis expedited to the store and mounted before my Jackson Hole trip. Even threw in a couple of boot heel replacements and reached out to the manufacturer rep to get advice on binding setup and had the tips/tails detuned. Very pleased with the ability to swap out the skis I had and for Leana going above and beyond, even when I was pestering her every other day.

I got all of my skiing gear at Epic this year and had an amazing experience! Baley walked me through picking the perfect helmet and goggles and showed me the best options that fit in my tiny budget! Not pushy at all just super informative and great! She even helped me convince my boyfriend to get new pants and ran through the store to find options for him after helping me for at least half an hour. I loved this shop! Great deals and customer service!
