A changed Bewleys.

A changed Bewleys.
Great to visit again whilst in Dublin. Happy days when I worked on Merion Square. My first call in the morn upon doors opening. Bewleys.
First a queue inside door. Warm welcome lit blazing fire. I purchased some almond buns the last 4 of the day. 2 sticky buns. Time 15:00. Not impressed young man just placed them in apaper bag. Handed to me.
I then asked for 6 cakes to be boxed and for patties of butter.
He then did so.
It was raining outside and cakes would be wet.
Then onto seating. Downstairs as front cafe busy.
We opted for what was left we asked for several items to be told sorry sold out.
A good sign. But hello open till 21:00. What about the other customers.
So limited bites to eat.
Husband ordered two cappuccinos. Wait wait wait.
We then ordered a croissant with guerier cheese & ham. It came with full plate of rocket. He's not a rabbit.
I opted.for a child's sausage roll 4.50 x 2 as was starving. Served with ketchup or relish. Given ketchup. I asked for relish
I asked our very friendly lovely server for relish that I ordered. To be told. We are out.
I then asked for horaeradish as noted on menu with other food.
Sorry we are out

Very bad.
Still waiting on our coffee.
Finally came .
Coffee delicious. Sausage roll. Still l ooking for the sausage. Mixed meat in it very bad left one there amd served cold. Asked for hit
Great to see they kept 3 old favourites of cakes. I enjoyed the visit just to see the new.

Not a very student friendly place! However i love the coffee here and the breakfasts are amazing. A bit expensive for me as i am a student and the seating is a bit pinchy, remember once having a plant digging into the back of my head once and there were no seats left!

The whole place is lux and posh. I had a coffee latte and chocolate croissant, omg, they are worth every penny. Obviously they are on the expensive side, personally I think they are worth it. Enjoy!

Visited at 10.30 ish today. No queue, lots of empty tables but for some reason a member of staff asked us to walk behind people having their food and stand waiting. A few minutes later we were brought to a table. This unnecessary queue continued the whole time we were there - there was always empty tables..and there seemed to be no member of staff attending the queue,it was very distracting. Things improved once we were seated. A lovely staff member called Lindsay took our order. I felt slice of very fancy carrot cake was overpriced at 6 and latte was a little cold. Decor is fantastic - but absolute shame open fires were not lit - like they used to be.

Lovely, efficient waitress, delicious tea and cakes, substantial salads and sandwiches. Found ourselves in a cosy little room off the main space that was the perfect retreat from the mayhem of the city centre. Considering the former Bewleys on Westmoreland Street is now a Starbucks, I think it's great that this one is back up and running as Bewleys.

Bewleys holds special memories for me. I love it. I used to take my Grandmother here for coffee and a coffee slice. This is a beautiful restoration with many of the original details such as chairs and booths still in situ. The stained glass windows are still in situ down the back looking out onto Clarendon Street and a beautiful large stained glass to the right as you walk towards the seated area. The old school black & white uniforms reflect the style of Bewleys and there are beautiful pieces of old equipment downstairs along with framed photos linked to the history of Bewleys. I deducted one star as the breakfast was average in quality.

Once a place all Dubliners went for afternoon tea, the chat and the craic and met their date! At least I did.

Now open to the world in a new revised, bright airy and busy cafe/restaurant.
If your looking for space and lots of elbow room forget it. This is a nudge the neighbour and ask them 'how's it goin?' Kinda of a place.

Good selection of food, always busy and bustling. Quieter upstairs. At busy times you might be waiting for a table especially for groups over 4.
Try the Dublin specials bread pudding, hot cross buns and Rocky road.

Terrible service (forgot our order, then forgot it a second time, the staff was running around trying to find the person who took our order after we complained, it was a mess). We'd ordered the 'Christmas special' hot chocolate and a cake, but they never brought us the latter. The hot chocolate cost a fortune and really just tasted like regular instant powder cocoa. Abysmal. Would never recommend to anyone, it was an embarrassment bringing my relatives here.

Great restaurant. Very nice staff and attentive service. The prices are civil. The scones were divine and the salmon sandwich delicious. And you can also make coffee.
Would come again and again.

Just left the cafe and for now will not be coming back. Coffee was cold, apple pie uncooked and the lacks of training on the staff is appalling. It took 10min waiting to get menus and another 10min (upon asking twice) for our order to be taken. Our order was delivered to the table next to ours, and we had to tell the waiter that it was ours (a guess by what they were serving + the confused faces of the other guests). Bottomless water wasn t refilled until we had to ask for it twice (despite having a waiter coming to our table when the bottle was already empty). Bill was brought to the table before we were even asked if we needed anything else. 20min later, nobody comes to collect the payment and so I asked someone who looked like a manager (a lady called Ana) to bring the card machine. She clearly didn t know how to operate a POS: first added the bill amount as a tip, all by herself, doubling the total of the bill. Then she cancels it, gives the machine to me and tells me to type my pin without even having taken my card up from the bill tray. Then she tried conctactless and it gets declined because the signal was too bad where we were located. So she just kept rudely repeating it s declined , without even allowing me to try again with the pin - perhaps now this time with the card inserted in the machine (as she still hasn t realised that the card wasn t in). She then decides to ask for help and I said that it was okay, I d pay with cash instead. As I put part of the money on the bill tray, she takes whatever was on it and walks away. When I call her back and say that it wasn t the full amount, she rudely leaves the bill tray on the table and walks away. When she comes back, I tried to give her this exact same feedback, and to wrap up her rudeness, she walks away leaving me talking on my own. I called her back before leaving and by her face, she clearly didn t care about what we were saying to her. An unfortunate terrible experience as we were looking forward to going back there. Staff doesn t seem to know what they are supposed to do and where they are supposed to be, we saw 3 tables leaving because their orders simply weren t taken. It looks like they rushed to re-open (which is great) but didn t allow enough time to hire the right people and moreover to train them properly. For now, I ll spend my money elsewhere.

the staff were accommodated for our informal gathering of autistic adults. They sat us in a smaller room and turned off the music in there. It was perfect. The food was amazing. I had the goat's cheese salad and a white hot chocolate and it was feel good food tbh. Really fancy presentation that tastes as good as it looks.

Amazing. Had already planned to visit this cafe on our visit to Dublin, we both had a cake and a coffee i had the opera cake as pictured. Though not the cheapest it is the quality you're paying for. Marked down a star cause one member of staff was quite dismissive of us and also it is quite difficult to get the attention of the others as they are rushing around quite a lot

We waited 25 minutes for a tea. It was undrinkable, infused for 15 minutes (the start time of infusion is specified on the label, it is also specified that the infusion time is 3 to 5 minutes ...). We sent it back, waited another 15 minutes, to receive a tea infused since ... 8 minutes. In short, experience not at all up to the qualitative image that gives place.

Amazing place, perfect for a quick coffee (or hot chocolate, which is delicious) or for something a little bit more filling. The staff are all very friendly and offer excellent customer service. It has a unique feel not like any other coffee shop I've been to. Always warm and perfect for a quick stop on a cold day.

Upon entering I was escorted to a table in the centre of the floor with lots of space for me to manoeuvre my wheelchair then the waiter attended and took my order this was 5 star service and the tea and bun were the same.

Fancy coffee place but extremely cosy and comfortable atmosphere. Don't go there if you are in a rush ;). Funfact- they will bring you a tea pot with the time when the tea was mixed with hot water.

The best pastry I know in Ireland is certainly one of the best in Europe. 10+ cake, coffee and tea selected with own blends. The location is a film, with attention to the smallest details

If I could give zero stars I would. Came to Bewleys today. My wife and 2 children. They are from NJ, I have lived in NJ for 30 years now. We were so excited to hear of the renovation and Bewleys reopening. Let me tell you it was unbelievably disappointing. My wife and I ordered 2 irish breakfasts amd my 2 children 2 ham and cheese croissants. 2 coffes amd water. Our breakfasts arrived nearly immediately. So we kinda waited for our 1. Coffee and 2. Our childrems breakfasts. 10 minutes no coffee and no childrens breakfasts. It got to a stage that we had to eat as our food was going cold. Finally our coffee arrived but we were 1\2 way through our brealfast. After another 5 minutes our childrens breakfast arrived STONE COLD. It looked like they were made and forgotten about until the last minute. We sat on the second floor balcony, the view was good but the food and service was atrocious. First and definitely most definitely the last. Ill also make sure anybody I know travelling to Irelamd feom the US is made aware of our experience. Terrible and bitterly disappointing. Steer clear and dont waste your money.

Bad portion sizes, severely overpriced for what it was and not worth the 20 minute wait and service was only so so. Food quality was acceptable but the above stands.
Best way to describe it is that you'd be embarrassed to put it on your Instagram for fear or people questioning your exiatance.

The place has been refurbished nicely since the last time I was there. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We got a lovely seat up stairs. I had a latte and bewleys breakfast. Both went down a treat. The others had poached eggs and the looked delicious. Overall price I think was good. Highly recommend this place.

The staff is very friendly and efficient. I recommend you try the Mary cake is absolutely delicious.
The only negative thing I could find is that you might need to queue to be seated but the wait is
Without a doubt worth it

Waiting 40 minutes for breakfast only for it to be wrong order. Staff rude and no apologies given. Sadly staff don't have a good grasp of English.. Left and went to Killkenny design on Nassau street and had a wonderful breakfast at half the price.. Don't waste you're time going to bewleys ..

I was a bit skeptical going in there after renovations as you know heard it was very different now after they refurbished, but you know wasnt too disappointed.

Menu now is much smaller bear in mind it's more go for a coffee and grab a small bite to eat place now than going for a proper meal like it used to be so have that in mind when going in thats probably the biggest difference.

They got your standard coffee selection decaf included if you want a cuppa late at night and a good selection of teas too to choose from. Food selection was pretty small, but big enough for a bite to eat, their deserts tho are a treat and a half so I personally feel you should check this place out in the morning or for lunch, but saying that the place will still be packed after 6pm easily.

Staff in here are exceptional even at busy times its not hard to get someone to your table so you dont have to wait long to get attention of passing by staff member, theyre also really relaxed and happy something thats really admirable as its not easy to serve tables all day and still remain bubnly and happy.

Overall really great experience in here after it reopened, 4 stars out of 5 as I wish their food menu was a bit bigger to be honest as late in.the evening youd like to get more wholesome proper food than just a coffee and a sambo, but still would recommend this place for a quick bite to eat.

As a major drinker of tea, I was very impressed with the tea being marked with a diffusion start time! I had Bewleys Irish breakfast which was a lovely blend. We sat towards the front end of the cafe & it's waited staff who were very friendly & efficient.

The staff is lovely, the place as well, but the food is not. I had a salad and it there was so much vinegar my stomach was burning. I tried my friend' s toast and it was very tough to bite. Such a shame

Love this place. Such charm and grace. My third time visiting this iconic restaurant in Dublin. The service was excellent! Food perfection. Gluten free choices amazing. A definite highlight of our visit to Dublin Ireland.

Amazing place to go. The food is absolutely lovely. We had the Bewley's Breakfast and it was soo tasty especially the sausages. The bread was hone made ans fresh and the coffee was gorgeus. The staff was incredible kind and making sure you were fine at all the time. Just a little note, the price is for the quality of ingredients they use.

I really love this place, they have the best carrot cake what I ever had. Actually I love the presentation of the hot chocolate too.
The building is refurbished and is new now, that give you a very good place to stay and relax with yourself or friends. Is busy on weekends but during the week is just perfect.

Had an excellent experience here. Saturday evening before Christmas. You'd think the staff would be grouchy and tired, but everyone was in such a wonderful friendly happy mood. My wife had, what she described as the best carrot cake she's ever had in her life. I had fab almond cake. Coffee was excellent. Bit staff were the highlight here. Well done.

Great food and service.

Great food and service.

We were there on a very busy day and were served well.

The Mary and Carrot cake were awesome and although we weren t available to enjoy it - the 2020 breakfast deal they offered for the new year was very kind and unexpected.
