Apart from the location itself, everything is awful. Food is really expensive, especially considering nothing is freshly cooked (I asked for something to be cooked in a specific way and was told that since all food is prepared in bulk, the chefs can't do an individual item, a certain way). Service was amazingly slow; waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken, 30 minutes for the food, 20 minutes to get the bill. We asked (2 waiters) to pay by card and when they didn't return after yet another 20 minutes, we just went to the till. The waiter thought we did a runner and suddenly showed up beside us with the card machine... the excuse for the terrible service was "it's really busy today". #touristtrap, #awful, #avoidatallcost

The only problem is the portion of the dessert are limited
Highly recommend to try out the hand lotion provided in their bathrooms

This is NOT the Bewleys of old. Nope, this is an incredibly mis-managed sham in the hollowed out shell of what WAS Bewleys of Grafton Street. The staff have all been replaced with low paid non-nationals who just don't care (and why should they?) and the management just can't see the chaos in front of them. We arrived at 11am and finally got a bite to eat a 1:30pm (!!!). The only reason we stayed for this chaos was because it was too late to go elsewhere for breakfast by the time we realised just how bad things were. DO NO GO HERE. You will be sorely, sorely disappointed (and frustrated) and if you still have fond memories of Bewleys, this is your chance to keep them. Unfortunately mine are ruined. Never, ever, again....

Tables are too close together so with place half empty you are seated in one area and are right on top of fellow diners.
Its trying to be a reincarnation of a favoured memory but falls down on every key element
I have gone back hoping that the will get it right but am now giving up
.

Bewleys holds so many happy memories for me, dates with my future husband, breakfast with my parents before a days shopping and hours spent drinking coffee and eating their wonderful almond buns.

Sad to see that they no longer roast the coffee or bake the almond buns, but the beautiful windows and excellent customer service will draw visitors from far and near.

Probably the best cappuccino in Dublin. A strong coffee flavour and a velvety smooth mouth feel due to the micro foam incorporated throughout the drink. And Barmbrack was good, it's a traditional Irish fruitcake which is also known as Irish Tea Cake.

Quite disappointing. My friends and I queued for breakfast at 10.30am and they weren't doing it for some reason and all other choices were limited . The menu was very poor so we settled for a scone. They were disastrously small. Hot chocolate was lovely tho and was presented very well. The tables were on top of one another. A lady at the table beside us complained about the terrible service but ours was fine. We won't be returning any time soon.

Very disappointing. Had what they called vegetable soup. It was like water vegetables had been cooked in. Very thin and watery. No substance. It was served with one slice of awful wholemeal sliced pan. The waiter when asked said they had run out of brown soda bread. Also way overpriced at 7.50.
Very disappointing all round.

Dublin on a Saturday afternoon, took my 13 year old daughter there for the first time, she's a more Starbucks or Costa fan. She was blown away by the speed of service, the decor and the bun she had with her cuppa tea, strike one for the traditionalist. Me, just had a flat white, best coffee I've tasted in years. 10 outa 10 for the experience, the personal service from the waiter was just excellent,

Just do it and have a cream cake while you re at it. This place is more than a Dublin icon - it s woven in to the fabric of its culture and written in the lines of its literary greats. The recent and thorough renovation was respectful, and forward looking - catering to new Dubliners and maintaining the stories of their predecessors and updating them for their children. Bewley s is a must do for locals and visitors alike. Be prepared to wait for a table though. PS: pop downstairs to look at the bakers work on the breads and buns and cakes.

Beautiful and cozy place, very good located. The dessert and the scone were OK but nicely served. The waiters are very attentive.
The only think I didn't enjoy is when we got the bill without asking for it as if the waitress decided for us that it's time to leave.

Lovely

Great place for breakfast/lunch, food is great and the service is quick. Sadely a lot of the food is only available at certain times and it's hard to know wether it is available or not because that information is in small print

To me it still has the look and feel of previous incarnations of this Dublin icon. Tastefully modernised and no attempt to compete with all the millennial coffee shops. They lose a point from me because I wish there were more standard choices on the breakfast menu (great poached eggs lads!), and even though they brought the almond bun back someone needs to tell the pastry chef that a wad of marzipan in the centre does not an almond bun make. But overall it's great to be able to say "meet you in front of Bewleys" once again.

I was very excited to return to one of the most iconic cafes in Ireland. The results from the renovation within the building is fabulous indeed, although pretty smaller. I gave 3 stars only as I found no Irish breakfast on the menu, the food selection available on the menu is very limited and the prices pretty high also. In any case, it s just been reopened and I hope this positive criticism can bring the. Bewley s Cafe we had in the past entirely back.

Queuing to pay money has never appealed to me. We queued to sit in uncomfortable seats, ate a costly, mediocre lunch brought by an over-worked and stressed waitress. The salad came without dressing and I waited 5 minutes for it to be added. I remember Bewley's when it was truly iconic -- this version in a soul-less pastiche. The only good things were the stain glass windows.

Top food and beverages in probably the most historic cafe in Ireland.Wheter it's for a cup of tea or coffee, a full Irish breakfast or lunch/dinner it's a great place to go. Expect a friendly warm welcome from the staff as you escape from the hustle and bustle of Grafton Street and relax in this little oasis of charm .

Lovely pastries and buns, and a nice place to spend an afternoon for tea. You typically will have to queue for a table (15 mins for us) and the service, while friendly and helpful, is a bit haphazard and disorganized.

Friends told us it was a tourist trap and to avoid it, but I didn't listen and am glad I ignored them. I love tea so even though it was quite crowded it was still a delight to go into this gorgeous building and have a cuppa. We shared some desserts as well. The prices were a bit on the high side, but not unreasonable. Despite it being VERY crowded no one gave us a hard time about lingering at our table for an hour to rest our feet. I greatly appreciated the rest and tea.

Wonderful building. The waiters are very kind and attentive. We went to breakfast with my couple, full Irish breakfast and scone - was asked which did not disappoint, the next morning we had breakfast here. Elegant atmosphere, nice place, recommend it to everyone.

Uncomfortably hot and busy. The food offering is pretty poor unimaginative limited menu. Too many much better places all around the area so I wouldn t recommend unless just for a coffee and scone.

First I visited it in 1995 and I loved it. Then closed and I waited to reopen and here we are. Absolutely a must visit Irish cafe and experience! Delicious cakes, amazingly fairytale interiors. Place worth coming again and again!

Obviously, a good place for tea, coffee, or a scone. Bewley's is one of the better places to get espresso drinks in Dublin. The cafe itself is beautiful and has great seating with a view of Grafton street on three levels.

Also has good lunches. I'm fond of the pizza.

You have no idea. This is why I came to Dublin. Why I made the journey. Bewleys and Moore Street. I am researching PRINCIPLES OF MARKETING. Kerri from Bewleys HR gave me this out of print, no less book THE CLATTERY. As for the sticky bun. I swear if Meg Ryan had 1 of those in Katz, she wouldn't have been faking it. The glaze on those buns is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!
