It is a nice cafe, but has become a bit of an expensive tourist trap. We had nice buns and coffee at around 11:30 on a Sunday morning. Service was very slow, and not everything was brought to the table. Busy staff were nice about bringing the missing things. Perhaps go at an off-peak time if you want to visit.
I was delighted to hear bewleys opening again and the interior reflects my memories. However the food was poor. The "sandwiches" are in fact rolls. These rolls are very hard and too crusty to manage. The eclair were too small and service poor
Good place to visit. The building is beautiful and retro
Beautiful interior design & ambience. But could have more variety of breakfast and pastries.
I just love this place. The coffee is always great - as are the buns. Today we were aware that we lingered perhaps a little longer than we should but our lovely server did not make us feel uncomfortable -thank you for that!
For me Bewleys IS Dublin.
Keep up the good work!
Very spacious, nice ambience, verities of cakes and good coffee.
Very nice setting to eat there. Just a little noisy. Choice of dishes. I said that it is not a restaurant in the French sense but what to eat and good.
Disappointing. Rip-off Ireland prices and just re-opened and already scruffy.
Very overpriced I had a gift voucher which I spent on takeaway also got 2 scones 4 euro each they were delicious but not worth that money
Really nice old-fashioned coffee house/restaurant in the City Center. Tried the upper seating area where they serve coffee, tea, and traditional food. Recommended for a break on busy days on Grafton.
loved stained glass and heart of city but so overpriced
I have been here few days ago for coffee and pastries. The prices are slightly high but I guess they are justified by both the location of the caffe' and the quality of the food they offer.
I had there one of the best eclairs I had in Ireland. What makes their eclairs stand out is the filling cream as it chocolate creme patissiere and not the usual creme chantilly that is usually used as a filling for eclairs here in Ireland.
Best place ever. Ordered Bewleys breakfast. Great food. Friendly atmosphere. Best service ever. Thank you Bewleys for the greatest experience abroad.
Served by Giavanni (Gia) last night, she was AWESOME. took our Christmas photos for us. Thank you Gia, you are a gem!
very nice interior since it has been renovated. Although it is very big it was very cosy and the tea, coffee and food selection is great. a bit on the pricy side though.
Traditional as I remember I love it. Really good for me being a Dub ( Dubliner )
Really nice place to go and blow some cash. It has a charm to it.
Visited Bewleys today for breakfast. It was amazing and excellent customer service. So relaxing
Nice place and delicious food but tables are too near to each other
Had to call staff 3x until served, not smiling or kind waitress. Food & Beverage is good, the place is really nice however the overall experience not better then a regular coffee shop.
Cold food , wrong order twice, coffee served Luke warm. Dreadful and overpriced
A cafe in an old good style and what is important with long traditions. Tasty plus the story that surrounds us.
Goo service but limited menu, food cold and overpriced. Won t be back!
Lovely experience. Back for anniversary food delicious. Super atmosphere. A must if visiting Dublin.
My first visit to bewleys most enjoyable excellent food and service
What can I say...5 star surroundings, gorgeous cake and coffee... in fairness I think they try too hard to make it stand out.
Very nice building there, food is great and very reasonable price
All the different doors allocations are a bit silly I think. Also it's all mainly about chairs and tables. Somehow when I think about an iconic cafe on a prime street I would hope more comfort. Couches or armchairs would bring more charm in my opinion. Also it's crazy busy. It's good for business obviously but as a customer i always feel like I should be in a rush as the queue is right in front of you.
I really like this place it has great history as well as great food
Very very average. Little choice. Teas and coffee with a very ordinary taste. Prices very high above the quality offered. Cleanliness limit. Long wait for the service. Only consolation the server is nice.
Could send a few waiters for driving lessons. One chap constantly crashed into the chair I was sitting on to the extent one of the screws loosened itself.
What a lovely place with lovely people. Gentlemen who showed us our table was so gentle. Kids loved him.
I ve been here a number of times now and the food is lovely and they definitely make the best chai latte ever. The staff are run off their feet from the time the doors open. Despite this they are always very friendly, chatty and helpful.
I highly recommend here for a breakfast or cake and suggest you take the time to admire the classic tea room decor.
A couple of weeks back I did have a bad experience, however customer service were very good in dealing with it to ensure that they can provide the best experience for every customer.
Historic cafe, founded in 1840 & for me one of the quintessential Dublin landmarks.
Like Dublin it has changed somewhat over the years, but I was delighted to find after the latest refurbishment that it still retains its character. It still feels like Bewley's!
Friendly staff. Scones excellent (with jam & cream). Sorry I was there too late for breakfast (pity it doesn't run all day like it used to).
Wonderfully restored Tea / Coffee House. Fabulous stained glass windows
It was good here. The price is a little expensive, but I liked the atmosphere with the old feeling. Especially the tart (?) Was not sweet and it was very delicious.
Very nice the waitress. Very nice site, reasonable prices recommended.
Great for coffee, tea, or drinks, but not for food.
Really ugly design -- too big, no theme or concept.
One exception is the occasion of a gig: then, it is worth every cent, since usually the music is of high quality.
Great place for coffee and pastries. Good sandwiches too.
You have not experienced Dublin until you have been to this Bewleys Cafe. The facade is crafted from wonderful Victorian dark wood and brass. The exterior is encrusted with stunning Art Nouveau Mosaic reminiscent of the Egyptian Pharos. You step back in time and enter the most magnificent, untouched, old world cafe.
Staff wear the old black uniform and white blouse, you are escorted to your seat.
Your senses are overwhelmed by the four original Harry Clarke gigantic stained glass depictions of Greek pillars entwined with flowers, butterflies etc. The other windows depict fantasy insects, flowers etc. Their is a more recent stained glass window by Jim Fitzpatrick, of a legendary Celtic figure.
The cafe is set out over 3 floors with a theatre at the top.
The food and the cakes are legendary, as is their coffee.
For the price of a coffee & cake, which are average prices, I'm glad to say, you can luxuriate in the velvet seating or on the bentwood chairs.
You will see a total mix of regular locals, Dublin characters, lovers, book readers and tourists.
The staff are amazingly calm and courteous even when it's very busy. Don't be put off by the que to be seated, it moves rapidly. Bewleys is the jewel of Grafton St. And the heart of Dublin.
Constructive feedback:
serving staff would be more observant to check who is ready to order, they passed my table 3 times and was not aware until i called them that i want to order
As 2 chairs tables are too close to each other, serving staff blocked my front view and put her hand on my cross chair to take order of next table
Place is too noisy, even though i had my headphones ! Most probably acouistic is not well done during construction
I ate Mary's cake, nice but not the nicest, i was expecting more interesting taste, it is easy to find same taste everywhere.
Decoration is nice and i will be back to taste blueberry cheesecake as it looks awasome. I hope taste is awesome too:)
Awesome poached eggs and warm friendly service. Definitely worth a visit!
Wonderful breakfast right off the plane made me know I was in Dublin. Short stroll to the park. Knee deep in history.
I m sorry to say my mum was so disappointed for years as we walked by Bewleys coffee shops all I heard was oh my god the Mary cakes are to die for . On Monday we went into the grafton street shop and the staff were amazing the cake boxes were beautiful but the cake was nothing like she remembered from 20 years ago . Things are supposed to get better over time but not Bewleys Mary cakes instead of being a sweet treat from her childhood she said the cake was bitter and far to rich .
She was sad as the ritual of going to Dublin and buying her dad a Mary cake and mabey being luck enough to get a little taste was wiped out with her first spoonful . The cake looked the part to compete in today s market it s a shame the taste was lost
The frothy coffee was beautifully served in a lovely cool cafe. Device was excellent as usual
Provide gluten free option if requested. Lovely brunch
Daniela (if I am not wrong) was the roudest waitress I have ever came across with. I asked for a recommendation, told her my regular preferences and she replied "no, I cannot give you any recommendation because I don't know you". I was shocked, but still I asked her to explain me the difference between 2 beverages, just to try and calm the tense environment. She simply told me about one of them. I had been a waitress for more than 7 years and I have never replied like that to a customer's query, and guess what... I am proud of it. Now I have no reason to say a good word about the place
Highly recommend this place to any person who wants to have a taste of authentic Irish coffee. Food is great, price is reasonable, -!: the service is excellent!!!People here always welcome you with big sunny smile and on-the-point service. As a minority in Dublin, I truly feel warmly welcomed! Would say this has been my no.1 place to hang out with my friends and coffee chat with clients!
We had asked the waitress to serve us quickly because we had little time. She promised to serve us first and that was not the case at all. We had to leave without tasting what we ordered. A huge disappointment
1st day of opening so allowances have to be made. Service was ok but value for money was questionable
Very accommodating staff lovely tea. Excellent food
Special visit to Bewleys with my dad. Staff couldn't be more kind.. Thank you!
One of the best desserts in Dublin. The carrot cake is legend!
Stunning renovation and the food, coffee/tea and service are excellent. It is expensive though but you pay for quality.
Good breakfast, Irish breakfast tea, enjoyed very much and no hassle to move on
Beautiful and historic Dublin cafe. Entering inside you almost have the feeling of being back in the 30's. The desserts are very good, for the coffee, of course, don't expect the flavor of the Italian one.
Atmosphere was really nice and waitress was lovely. Tea was good. I had the mozzarella and pesto sandwich and a fruit scone. The foccacia wasn't really fresh, a bit tough and stale. Same thing for the scone but stale at the edges, and the jam was a little bitter and too runny. But I did have a nice experience and would like to go back. Toilets were also spotless and well attended.
This is over priced and unlike the Bewleys of old they take their customers for granted
Staff take it or leave it attitude extremely disappointing
They have long history.
If you seated to window seats, you can see Grafton street.
And maybe you can hear the street music.
Blue cake is blueberry cheesecake:)
I want to try it....
Good ambience especially the stained glass windows. Good coffee and pastries . Amiable staff.
Minimal waiting time even though the place is crowded.
A little pricey but nice for a treat. The bloom hot chocolate is very nice but pricey at 6 euro. It comes with a chocolate cup with a flower marshmallow that melts into it. With the herb and green teas they have a recommendation about how long to let it infuse and the time they put it in the pot. The vanilla buns are tasty too.
